I don't know if this is still relevant, but I've seen a few things that say Axel doesn't have a theme song in Kingdom Hearts. I think that's not entirely true.
While he doesn't have a song named after him, the soundtrack "At Dusk, I Will Think of You" plays when he is in the spotlight. During BBS when he meets Ventus, that's the song that plays. The song plays when he kinda-sorta remembers Xion in KHIII. It's been a bit since I've seen 358/2 Days, but I'm fairly certain that's the music associated with him there.
In addition to that, a major scene in Days is when Axel tells Roxas about why the sun sets red. "Out of all the colors of the light, red's the one that travels the farthest." Sunset is also called Dusk. Axel's hair is red. By talking to Roxas about the dusk in that scene, Axel causes people to associate him with the sunset. At dusk, they will think of Axel. Therefore, would it not be fitting to call his theme "At Dusk, I Will Think of You?"
As a bonus, the song sounds peacefully happy/sweet, and I think that's Axel's natural state among friends behind the sarcasm.
Don't get me wrong I love the kh original tracks for the Disney worlds, so most of the battle tracks, but the world themes that are instrumental versions of Disney songs are my favorites. This is Halloween, Under the Sea, You've Got a Friend In Me, they're all just so perfect, very nostalgic which I guess was the point
as the name would imply, this is a tournament bracket for the various versions of Dearly Beloved found in Kingdom Hearts. you know how this sort of thing works by now; there's a nomination period, I'll make a bracket out of the top 16 or top 32 and run a series of polls, etc., etc.
this bracket is for official versions of Dearly Beloved (no fan covers, please!). I'm using a pretty loose definition of official; the orchestral concert album tracks, Shimomura's various piano arrangements, and other Square Enix album releases are all okay. if it's a super obscure arrangement, I'd appreciate it if you could provide me with a YouTube link or something (there's a box in the nomination form for this)
if you'd like to nominate a version of Dearly Beloved for this bracket you can do that here. nominations will be open for one week (until 12PM EST next Thursday) and you can submit as many as you want until then!
Walt Disney Records has released a comprehensive Kingdom Hearts playlist on various music streaming services.
Luckily Spotify is one of them. This playlist includes most (if not all) ost for the massive series. There are even some remixes of various Hikaru Utada songs.
Let's just say it is easy to understand why Yoko Shimomura is one of the most amazing Video Game composers.
The Riku-Ansem/Dark Riku boss music is called "Forze Del Male", which is Italian for "Forces of Evil".
The Riku Replica boss music is called "The Force in You".
I would like it if there were something tied to Riku in a future Kingdom Hearts game (be it a music theme, a Keychain, a Limit, or a Finisher) that is called "Forza Del Bene", or "Force of Good" as a nod to how far he's come.
I feel like I spent so long being emotionally devastated by Roxas’s theme that I completely slept on Xion’s theme which has been stuck in my head all day killing me
