Answering My Own Height Questions

*I want to apologize for everyone being untextured, but I'm too lazy to figure out how to load the textures in Blender. Besides, this should make it easier to see anyway.

While I was poking around, I decided to go ahead and definitively answer my question from a while back about how tall DJSS is.

At a quick glance, the undisputable answer appears to be that he's shorter than Tatiana, but taller than Neon J... barely.

This doesn't consider the thickness of his helmet (unless you think the helmet is his head), but even so, this difference is so small, that it's easier to say that they're about the same height.

BUT

As we know from the Christmas DLC, DJSS's feet do not sink completely into the soles of his shoes.

So adjusting for where his feet would actually touch the ground, DJSS is actually shorter than Neon J. by a good couple of inches, but still taller than Mayday.

(Not that it really matters in fanart, since they're usually wearing their default outfits anyway, so even pointing this out is basically null~)

I also wanted to check Eve against the others, and with heels she's still shorter than NJ and DJSS.

This shot was taken before I adjusted for shoe height for DJSS/Eve, but with adjustments, DJSS is still just a little taller than Eve (it's about the same difference as Neon J. vs. DJSS with shoes).

So, I've a got a win for short!DJSS, but a loss for 2nd tallest!Eve, UmU. (Tatiana is the tallest member of NSR, not counting *Sayu, who I consider a special case.)

*Sayu is in scale to her B2J battle, meaning she's a giant compared to everyone else, so I didn't include her.

And of course I had to do B2J, Kliff, and Tatiana for my own amusement.

I didn't order them by height this time, but the grid guide should suffice. It's a little hard to say if Kliff or Zuke is actually taller since their hair is so dense, but considering that Kliff also wears shoes with a heel, I'm gonna err on Kliff being *just* a hair shorter than Zuke, but they're really about the same. However, Tatiana is actually about a whole head taller than Kliff putting him at perfect motorboating height.

I wanted to check the sewer gang too, but their models are not created equal, and I don't think they're in scale with each other.

Maybe it's just me, or because he's asserting dominance, but Zam seems bigger than he should be, and Gigi/Yiruk look a little smaller than they should be. Robot could be to scale, but I think he looks a little big too.

As my final bonus, I wanted to compare Yinu and 1010 to see how accurate my "Heart and Soul" sketch would have been and...

Nope. Handholding is basically impossible for them. At best, Yinu might be able to grab one of his fingers, but it'd be straining to do so unless he hunched over. So, it'd be even more impossible in my fic where she's younger and presumably even shorter, and the MKI is implied to be bigger and bulkier.

I was finally able to get past that pesky bug that wasn't allowing me to defeat Tatiana and I am now having so many emotions about her since I've seen the entire battle.

The fact that her entire argument this whole time isn't as simple as May trying to frame it as "rock is better than EDM," it's simply that EDM is the most reliable output she has personally seen and there is some grounding to what she claims that lies within the artists who produce both kinds of music themselves.

You know all those stories about young, passionate rockstars! They don't care what they do, they live in the moment and live life on the edge and do anything to chase a little bit more of that fire that keeps them going and keeps them playing. Tatiana knows this well enough because she was one herself with the Goolings and she is the remnant of one herself now.

From what I understand, the Goolings fell apart because of differences in priorities. The others were rockstars, they cared about what they felt and what mattered to them, personally, above all. Not the priorities of the people. And because of their love, their passion, their drive, they were able to output so much power for the city, but didn't know how to run it in a way that wasn't controlled by their feelings. Tatiana saw this and Tatiana knew what needed to be done and she did what she had to do to properly use the role they were given and the Goolings fell apart.

Tatiana knows rock is only so powerful because of the artists who make it but those artists are terribly unreliable and she knows this all too well. Why else would her guitar be powering that clock in her office, as Zuke puts it?

EDM is safer. It's rigid. It's far more flexible and allows a wider range of artists to help her city prosper. And, well. There may be more frequent blackouts now but at least she can rely on artists who know what's best.

On top of that, there's something about how she believes in this so strongly, so so fiercely that she'll allow herself to use bits and pieces of that same old passion that she tried long and hard to bury deep within her chest, if only to use it to snuff out the flames of another little star that's gotten a little too bright. That it starts with her using it intentionally in balls of fire to throw them off and grows more, and more, and more the angrier she grows.

And there's something about the fact that even though she has time on her side and assumingly warps the fabric of reality to be able to hold you still right where she wants you and make you crumble beneath her, that same ability is what you use to defeat her. Time is on her side, yes, but only when it's stopped. Only when she can use it to protect her and protect what she strives so hard to uphold. But once you start to take her back? Remind her of who she once was? She's the one who begins to crumble.

And there's something about the fact that all she wants is order so that she can do good by her city and bring the city what it needs, and yet.

And yet she cannot control everything.

And yet she cannot control herself, as the flames of a fire long spent lick their way along cracks in her hardened shell—she's quite literally hardened herself to step into a role she personally feels she must fulfill—and burst out in a brilliant show of light; screaming that it's still here deep within her, it's always been here the same way those memories always will be, and she uses it as it demands to be used.

And yet, at the end of it all, she still realizes she was wrong.

And maybe as she sees those embers in the eyes of a stupid, stupid child much like herself at one point in time, that that passion can be used for something more... beneficial this time around.

If the fire is cultivated just right.

NSR AU for Welcome Home. Check it-

I Don't have everyone down, but i can tell you for sure that:

• Poppy will be taking Yinu's placing, maybe as the mother and a child is a little chick, i'm still considering it

• Mayday and Zuke are replaced by Y/N, but.. A Y and an N. Maybe they'll be twins instead of the whole best buds? I'm unsure of this, but hmhm-

• Barnaby is DK West, good friend to Wally, likely goes by BB Beagle

• Howdy will take the place as DJ Zam since it feels the most fitting based off of the canon voice, besides i don't think there is much of an actual shop?

• Julie and her family ars actually Dodo, Remi, Sofa, and Tila! They just happened to make it based off of Julie herself since she was the friendliest face out of all four of them.

On the other hand, so far i do have a few of the others planned out, and i will likely be doing a full in depth drawing for everyone soon..

I'm thinking along the lines of the Game, and that Vinyl City is actually Vinyl Neighborhood (even if it is still a bit large)

Home is bitter towards Wally, but he really doesn't understand why. It's basically the same between them as it is Tatiana and Kliff themselves. (THE FACT THAT TATIANA CALLS KLIFF A PIECE OF PLA K FEELS SO FITTING FOR THIS PLEASE)

Barnaby will be a good friend of Wally, of course, and Wally will still desire order like Tatiana, but it was likely because the entirety of NSR in this universe had been together, but stress got to Wally, Sally let her dramatic attitude take over, and pretty much everyone just.. Had a big fall out. They still struggle to power the city, and it may be because someone is tampering with Wally's life even further after all was said and done.

Anyhow, this will take some more time to fix together

Hi everyone! This is an announcement for a revamped version of my popular series 7 Minutes in Musical Heaven - henceforth known as A Muse in You.

It was a tough decision to either rewrite every chapter and keep the same plot - while also getting rid of the chapters people have come to love - or to create another story and do an entire overhaul. I decided to do number 2. The reason I did this is because I didn't want to erase an important part of my history for so many in the fandom while also keeping something I can look back on and be happy.

A Muse in You will contain more adult themes and the wonderful beta team I have scraped together behind the scenes has so far been amazing to work with, because of the more adult themes and tone I will be taking in the fic, I will not be publishing Muse chapters directly to the blog.

Do you think it’s a deliberate design choice for the NSR game creators to make Kliff look… generic? (Everyone else on the game looks colorful but he… looks… normal)

In my opinion, absolutely.

I agree that Kliff looks fairly 'normal' compared to everyone else in the cast but at the same time he looks like a generic NPC. Just there to be a helping hand and give you some tips and tricks, nothing more.

He looks like the part he wants to fit for B2J: just a helping hand. Nobody that they need to spend time worrying about or looking at any further. He helps them, they run off, and they get done what he can't without another thought as to why he's telling them to do it.

During my playthrough of the game I forgot about Kliff entirely until he spoke again while I was entering a district. If he was more ~interesting to look at~ I likely wouldn't have forgotten he's there. And at the same time him being the villain worked great for me because I completely forgot he was there.

I was a little bit suspicious of him at first because... how did he get May's phone number but then he was just in the background. I figured he'd stay as unimportant to the story as Zam or Gigi were. Once my guard let down about him and he seemed relatively harmless outside of the occasional "how the hell do you have that information about the Charters? is that public info???" I disregarded him entirely. Which is good.

So yes, I like to think that Kliff was incredibly intentional in his design because it fits exactly what he wants to do: not be paid attention to by anyone other than her.

(And a fun addition I just realized: Kliff's hair is red. Kul Fyra's motif is fire. "Hair red as fire"? Yeah, haha.)
