Martin stage-whispers to Joel that Monica is headed their way, and she looks pissed. It’s the first time any of her staff have sighted her tonight and Joël was hoping she wasn’t going to be working at all but here she is, her mouth a vivid slash of disapproval, her hair virulent purple, and his hopes for a conflict-free evening have just been destroyed as cruelly as a cigarette butt beneath a size ten stiletto heel.
“Jo-ël,” she hisses at him. “Why are you wearing that stupid sweater? Why aren’t you wearing your uniform?”
“I’m not really feeling the uniform tonight,” he says.
“What the hell are you talking about? Wearing your uniform is a job requirement!”
“Maybe I’m just not in the mood to be treated as a piece of meat,” he says.
“This may come as a shock, but you weren’t hired for your bartending skills, you know,” she says. “Now, stop being such a fucking prima donna and take that sweater off! NOW!”
“No,” he says. “Sorry.”

1. Have you ever lived abroad? no, i’ve never even left the us so rip,,
2. Have you made sourdough (or focaccia or other cooking projects)? i’m decent at cooking but i’ve never actually made bread.
3. If you could emulate one person’s Sim-style, who would that be? uhhhh i don’t know, i really like the cute/gory thing that @peachy-flesh does but i’m not sure if i could pull it off..
4. Have you ever been emotionally affected by the death of a sim (stealing from @treason-and-plot because I like the question so much!) 1000% yes. in ts3 i had a household that had a shiton of drama (if you’re close to me you know the entire story cause i never shut up about it when i was like 14) but to shorten things up, i had a sim named edgar that had roommates and a whole bunch of drama happened and he ended up with this guy named mahmoud (gay rights) and then i got a notif saying that edgar wasn’t gonna live much longer and to check up on him (by this point their kids had moved out and had their own kids so they didn’t live together) and then at family fucking dinner MAHMOUD not edgar died of old age. it was the sadest shit cause edgar was standing in the corner sobbing. anyway i will always love and miss both of them cause edgar died a short time later and 14 year old me was crushed.
5. If you were to make a Simblr different from your own style (build, CC, storytelling, lookbooks, etc.) what style would you choose? i wish i was good at building and be one of those people who post real great intricate builds but i’m shit at building..
6. Do you like musicals, and if you do, which is your favourite? i used to really like musicals (i was THAT annoying hamilton kid in middle school) but i really don’t listen to them anymore. i saw waitress last year and really liked it. i think my favorite would be phantom of the opera though cause in freshman year i took a choir trip to new york and saw it on broadway with no previous knowledge of the show and fell in love
7. One book that made you cry, and one that made you laugh. ummmmm can it be the same for both?? cause when i read the outsiders in 7th grade it was an EXPERIENCE
8. City, suburbs, or rural? i love the aesthetic of a city but i think i’d get too overwhelmed after awhile

I've never even had a burglar idk what triggers that to happen but it doesn't! Probably because my sims are rarely asleep at the same time

Hozier - To Noise Making (Sing)
Remember when you’d sing just for the fuck of it? It makes me sad when people say “I can’t sing”. If you can make noise with your mouth then you can sing (I said noise, not words)! Singing isn’t (or, more accurately, shouldn’t be) about sounding good or pretty. I don’t believe that there is a wrong or a right way to sing. I believe that we should sing to tell stories, express emotions and to feel joy. I’ve never heard this philosophy put so eloquently as when Hozier said: “you don’t have to sing it right, but who could call you wrong? You put your emptiness to melody, your awful heart to song. You don’t have to sing it nice - but honey sing it strong! At best you’ll find a little remedy, at worst the world will sing along. So honey, sing”! Not to mention, the line “just stick around until you hear that music play again” literally saved my life this Feburary. So, thank you Hozier. Seriously, seriously thank you. I cannot reccommend this song highly enough. Are you listening to it right now? WHY NOT?!??!?!!?

My mum used to sing me to sleep with this song every night when I was a lil’ tucker. ‘Nuff said.
The Mama & The Papas - I Call Your Name
There are so many Mamas & The Papas songs I could have put here. Midnight Voyage, Dream a Little Dream, Go Where You Wanna Go and Creeque Alley are all up there in my very, very long list of favourite songs of all time. I chose this one because I always feel so empowered when I listen to it. I have no idea why, I mean, as an asexual person I can’t relate - like, at all! There’s just something so badass to me about saying “I miss you, but instead of crying over you, I’m going to jerk off to all the sexy memories we shared instead”. It was originally a John Lennon song, but I am steadfast in my belief that ANY song can be exponentially improved by a four-part harmony. Especially when you have a ledgend like Mama Cass taking the lead.

A JOURNEY. That’s the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about why I love this song so much. It’s a MF JOURNEY of EMPOWERMENT and GROWTH!!! I have issues™ with the radio version because they cut out all the verses where she ... you know what? I don’t want to spoil it for you if you haven’t listened to it! I’m not sure, actually--I think he’s someone I moved into my game recently, but I put in a ton of families en-masse because I kept seeing the same sims over and over again, so I tried to get some variety... he was one of them, I think. XD But yeah--Owen doesn’t look old (yet), but I imagine sims can just tell when that life stage is just about done... That and it’s the only thing I could think of them to be fighting over, LOL. My sims get up to some weird things sometimes, it’s tough trying to ‘translate’ their ... weirdness. ;)

Pardon me while I turn into a puddle q____q !! Coming from you, that means a TON. It’s no architectural marvel like what you’re capable of, but I am semi-proud of it--and the selection of walls you’ve made really helps, I’ve done all kinds of rainbow things around their living space because I just couldn’t pick one color! Besides, I’ve always tried to do a ‘colorful’ theme for them, a vibrant house to go with their vibrant personalities. :) I would kill to have the skill at building you have in your pinky finger, though.

More than likely! I just need to get to a certain spot in RiP before I can start it up again, just so the storylines are a little more tangential. Atm HFTH is “ahead” in the timeline, RiP needs to catch up a LITTLE bit. I don’t care if they’re parallel, just want them to be close.

That is an excellent question! XDD I didn’t build the lot, it’s something I nabbed off of the Gallery and though I made a few tweaks to the interior, the table with the dead fish is something I didn’t change. I think they were thinking it was someplace you could purchase fish for eating too, but for tackle, dead fish doesn’t make much sense, lol! ^^

The gal that made Ian’s family actually helped me develop quite a bit of the ‘headcanon’ that Ian’s family is Italian (his last name is Pesce, which is ‘fish’ in Italian!) so it made sense to me that he’d try to honor his roots! He doesn’t have like, an accent since he’s clearly American, but as a slight hint to his future, he does end up spending some time in Italy and that really awakens his passion for his heritage. :)

Awesome!! I know quite a few “overgrown kids” like that--my husband is one of them (he enjoys go carting, bumper cars, building flamethrowers, and other such... toys... though I’m sure he’d love remote controlling stuff too) and my brother-in-law has numerous remote controlled planes and copters. Just because they are marketed to kids doesn’t mean adults can’t love them too! ^^

I hope that you’re able to!! Both 2 & 3 have amazing story and combat, so fleshed out and so deep and so many choices you can make that have a REAL impact on the story. Idk how many Bioware games you’ve played, but basically take it puts ME and Dragon Age to shame on how your choices actually have real consequence. I get so invested in the characters… gah!

It looks beautiful! DO NOT underestimate how good even what you think is a crap shot looks. I stare at pictures all day long at work, these would be one of those that would stun me, then call everyone over to see. Its great trust me, I know bad.
I’m glad that you think so… I honestly think the execution picture is ‘meh’ on many different levels, but the actual picture itself, behind the grain and the blur is not too bad. If I had another change to redo it with the knowledge I have now (like, the fact I can set my exposure longer than 30 seconds, who knew?), it would be way better, and I think that’s what bugs me–but that’s what living and learning is for. :) I have a few more opportunities to take some night photos this summer, I’ll just have to pray for clear skies and try again.

When was the last time you cried? Watching David Attenborough’s Frozen Planet 2 last week. A scientist featured on the show was in tears after he visited an island that was once populated with 200 000 Adelie penguins. He was devastated to see that there were only 400 left because the chicks could no longer survive due to climate change. I was in tears too.
Do you have kids? Yes, two.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? I wouldn’t say a lot, but it’s definitely something I use from time to time. (Apparently it's a form of passive-aggressiveness?)
What sports do you play/have you played? I played tennis, table tennis and netball at school. These days I just like running to keep fit.

Got that book for my birthday. Excited to read it once I finish my HP reread
Oooooo, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I’d never even heard about it until the movie came out, and as usual I was determined to read the book before watching the movie (and really glad I did, still haven’t seen the movie but I doubt it explores her emotions as well as her writing). It’s a bit of a heartwrencher, not nearly as much as say, The Fault in Our Stars, but there were still a times the tears got me, particularly since it’s a true story and those are always the worst, lol. Definitely made me feel 10x better about my own life.
