tag nine (9) people you'd like to know better!
this is literally a month late and i do apologise for that, but thank you lots for the tag @limnsaber!! ♡
last song. i've been on that ost hook with how deeply fixated i am on totk, and revisited my favourite rendition of rito village from botw. kass, my sweet, and his sweets!! i love that little family :')
currently reading. i do not have the time or energy for published books, but have been rereading the only one i loved was me by @pacific_primavera on ao3 almost religiously these past few days slkfjdl it's just such a wonderfully refreshing, heartbreaking, wholesome look into revali, where he stood in life, and where he stands after all his loss.
currently watching. i don't have the time or energy for shows either, unfortunately! but the last i visited was the mandalorian!
current obsession. i'm so sorry to the people waiting on me to update my mando fics...that ship looks like it has sailed once again (it will return! i'm still very down to talk about this dad and his son!!), i'm back on my zelda brainrot!! totk has me in such a GRIP for what it's done with its themes on handholding, hand-reaching, the importance of heart and community and finding strength in connections, the kindnesses you give others to collect being reflected right back at you, and — of course, subject of my writing frenzy — tulin of the rito and his entire people!!
tagging. @hey-anyamaine. i unfortunately do not have eight other people to tag slkdjfl but thank you again lim!!

“Oh so Bo-Katan can walk both worlds huh but what about—” have you considered that Din has the creed he wants. Have you considered it

Thinking about how Din Djarin is sincere. That’s the word for it. Sincere.
He’s honorable. He’s plain in his intentions and feelings. His emotions and expressions are clear and he has no ulterior motive. His moral code, if a little south-facing, is something he values greatly. He stops at nothing, ever. He doesn’t know himself, and yet nothing is obscured. He’s sincere

The thing I like most about the helmet kiss is that it’s such a queer kiss. It can mean anything. It can be romantic, done between partners in an amorous moment. It can be familial, done between kin or often between parent and child. It can be platonic, done between friends and others. It can just be an honest expression of intimacy and an act of comfort. It’s just a plain expression of love.

SO intriguing to me how they made the Mandalorian out of the most interesting protagonist tropes they could. What do you mean your main character is a lone gunslinger, the samurai, and the medieval knight errant of your favorite fairy tale? AND he’s a dad? They really knocked this one out of the park

“Luke Skywalker took that baby” shut up shut up shut up did you pay attention. the goal of the show for two whole seasons was to return the baby to his kind. It was Grogu’s choice to go and Grogu’s choice to come back like ahjsjsbdbfnnfnfnfndn “Luke Skywalker baby stealer” SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

It’s interesting how the Mandalorian Creed is truly about the helmet, and isn’t about their face at all. It’s always others who say “But you’ve never shown your face?”
To Din, the Armorer doesn’t say “Your face was seen.” She says, “You have removed your helmet.” The questions are: “Have you ever removed your helmet? Has it ever been removed by others?”
It’s not about their faces at all. Otherwise they wouldn’t pop their helmets to eat like Din does. It’s about the Mandalorian identity, the safety that comes with it, and how the helmet encompasses everything that a Mandalorian is and how it is inextricable from the armor.

The thing about DinLuke is that when I first heard people were shipping them I went “what 🤨 why would they do that” but the more you think about it the more it makes sense
I was like hmm you’re telling me you take off your helmet in the most vulnerable, heartfelt moment of the series just so your son can see your face in what you think is the last moment you’ll ever see each other? You get thrown into events you know nothing about but are somehow galaxy changing? You’re defined by your religion, your creed, and actively seeking to learn more about it while your burden gets heavier and heavier? And then you get a sword that carries the weight of your entire culture? Where does that sound familiar…

Astounding to me that Grogu can be everything that he is. He’s the cutest thing to come out of Star Wars AND he has a character arc. Amazing.
