each clans relationship:

leechclan, the outsiders, seeking control and power and guaranteed safety on the tundra. theyre violent, thieving, and refuse to follow the same warrior code the other clans have been raised on. will they ever learn to follow the other clans traditions, or are they a threat to not only their livelihood, but their histories too? both clans dislike them, although ptarmiganborealis is a noted softie towards them

locustclan, one of the more stable clans there. they're well-managed, polite, and slow to anger under ptarmiganborealis' careful watch. however, the warriors are starting to grow restless, sick of the constant violence enacted on them by leechclan. with the visions of civil unrest on the horizon, is there anyway shrikestone can placate his clanmates before it's too late? disliked by leechclan, while respected by lupineclan; on normal terms, they would be enemies, but they've briefly united against the outsiders

lupineclan, nearly as violent as leechclan. they followed the warrior code more closely than leechclan did, but cragborealis clearly had more ambitious desires than just conquering the mountains. are they a loyal ally or just waiting for the chance to take over? warily trusted by locustclan, hated by leechclan

Clan Origins

The founding cats of Willowclan all hail from different backgrounds, bringing with them the customs and traditions of the clans they're from and places they've been.

Pipitstar, Quiverpelt, and Lilacspeck are from Locustclan in the forests to the south - a clan that no longer exists. Wiped out by misfortune and disease, they left after burying the dead to find a new start in the wilds to the north.

Oakshade, Mossyrush, and Rueprance all came together from Tarnclan in the glacial foothills to the north. They were called by visions to head off together and find a clan under the weeping willows in the wilds to the south.

Thriftpaw and Auburnpaw were both from Mouseclan in the grasslands to the west. They were lost during a dust storm and wandered their way to the eastern woods before being found.

Brownfur was a wandering rogue with no allegiance, making her way from clan to clan and territory to territory in an attempt to scrape by.

Dustypaw was an abandoned rogue kit, taken in to be raised communally by the adults of the clan after being found by Brownfur.

Russetpaw was a previous apprentice of the clan that had lived in Willowclan's territory. He died young many, many moons ago, and his spirit was interred in the willow tree.

The Flood: Chapter 1

Ridgecreek was barely wading in a stream, water rushing forward and it getting deeper and deeper. She was carrying her kit, Burningkit, with her mouth. "When can we go home?" Burningkit asked. "I don't know, sweetie." Ridgecreek answered sadly. Midgestar was leading the rest of the cats out. "COME ON! EVERYBODY EVACUATE THE CAMP! LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND!" He shouted, as a few more cats came out. Rain was drizzling down, drenching the cat's pelts. "Come on! Keep going!" Midgestar meowed, having the cats swim upward. There was a loud thunderclap that shook the sky. Then another. LocustClan was near them, the only time they'd work together during their ongoing war. "Our camp's flooded too," Antstar (the LocustClan leader) mewed. "Flooded to the top, I tell you! It's like a pond now!" "Same here," Midgestar replied. Every cat was swimming now, just barely not drowning. Ridgecreek, however, was sinking, but was trying to keep her head up. "Give Burningkit to Fadedbranch!" The tortoiseshell tabby cried. She held up the kit and passed it to warrior to warrior until giving it to Fadedbranch. Fadedbranch was keeping the kit up high. Ridgecreek was still sinking, but trying to stay up, writhing and calling out for help. Then she sunk to the bottom. "We need to save Ridgecreek!" Fadedbranch said to Midgestar, who was looking at the drowning she-cat. "We must keep going! We can't save her! We need t-" Midgestar got cut off, looking at Sandspirit, who was carrying Ridgecreek on her back. Sandspirit didn't say a word. But she thought to herself: I saved her! She should be fine. The tan cat was barely keeping Ridgecreek up. She was unconscious. Burningkit wondered aloud, "Will mama be fine? "Of course!" Mewed Heatherkit. "She might wake up soon!"

ohh my god. I was gonna make risingstar's leader ceremony the prologue but it's so long. Im at page 7 and theres still half the cats to go. Prologues arent supposed to be THIS LONG

Cant decide if i should cut it out (even though because of circumstance i want to highlight each cat, the life they lived and the life theyre living) or leave it and have a long ass prologue and just try to keep up the length for the chapters

WHAT ARE THESE CLANS !!!!

there are three main clans on the tundra; lupineclan, who lives higher up towards the mountains; locustclan, who lives in the forests; and leechclan, who lives on the tundra itself.

leechclan, created by leechfang generations ago and led to the tundra by tundraborealis (a coincidental name), is the main clan of my story, though i touch in on the other two clans at times. tundraborealis and her deputy wormheart are the main characters

the story explores leechclan's history, complicated relationship with the other clans, and an unusual alien plot that i havent exactly figured out yet. it also deals with the violent natures of the clans, mental illness, and disability as well as less serious issues, like petty drama, almost always unrequited romance, and the fact that your son got adopted by the leader and he doesnt even care about you

as it's featured around tundraborealis and her deputy/son, wormheart, it deals heavily with her extremely violent tendencies and how that affects her very sensitive child, and their unusual and often off-putting relationship together

i dont know. its warrior cats. it has other stuff. oh right unique naming system and roles. i dont know why im trying to sell you on this its not like a roleplay or comic its just my side blog. sorry

shrikestone of locustclan .... weird deputy . ptarmiganborealis's close childhood friend and weirdly close Heterosexual life partner (not true. but ptarmigan is unaware of that part). as deputy, he has incredible leadership skills and a tactful eye for relations with the other clans, and is very skilled at social situations (although he is cold and deadpan, unlike ptarmigan) but he is rather limited in the fighting/patrolling department. shrikestone suffered severe hairloss as an apprentice, and due to the cold and danger, is often limited to staying in camp for hours on end. most of the cuts on his legs are from simple wounds he endured from plants, twigs, rocks, etc. he doesn't mind though. truth be told, he works better staying in camp anyways - and when they travel to the gatherings each moon, he wears a combination of fur-and-moss wraps to keep him comfortably warm during the journey.

and i hate drawinggggg. sorry leechclan i got burnt out by you im going to work on the sideclan for that story for a bit (locustclan) i think they would have an interesting relationship together. the violent and unusual newly formed clan (led by one of the most dangerous, but not needlessly violent, cats seen on the tundra) and also their leader is best friends with them. and your leader is so smart and educated but he cant seem to grasp that his continued kindness is posing a deep risk to his clan and he just wants everyone to be friends and they cant because leechclan is the one causing issues, not them. everyone was in harmony until they arrived. but theyve been here a year and it doesnt seem like theyll be leaving anytime soon so everyone just wants to set rules and express their boundaries and ptarmiganborealis is just so clueless and ignorant about it its infuriating . im sure its no secret that cats are starting to prefer the more rational and strict deputy, and theres whispers of plans to rise up against ptarmiganborealis if he doesnt shape up soon, but the truth is nobody will do that either because hes just such a nice guy and hes always been a kind leader hes just. clueless. nobody wants to hurt him they just want him to know better. he should know better. he does know better. and youd think this would turn the deputy against him too, but it doesnt. shrikestone is as loyal as ever. a rock in ptarmiganborealis' life. he keeps him stable. he supports him. he provides the advice he needs, knowing his leader wont listen to him, but he accepts it. he's started working on his own though, which would cause a great rift between them if it was discovered. when ptarmiganborealis is busy, shrikestone works towards protecting his clan. telling his warriors they can fight if necessary, sending out more and further border patrols, threatening leechclan cats personally...its all very careful, of course. hes not overly violent. hes not stupid. shrikestone knows to keep them out of danger while making everyone else think they are the danger. haha like walter white lol. well anyways shrikestone uses an elaborate manner of manipulation and deliberation and his own talent in fighting to keep locustclan's reputation as a threat up, to keep leechclan from getting too cocky, all while fearing any word of it will reach his leaders ears and cause a huge argument. this is a massive breach of trust, going behind his leaders back like this, but its for the good of the clan, isnt it?
