Covering the Silage clamp 💪 💨 First cut silage complete! For my non-farming followers, cattle farmers grow and harvest grass in spring/ summer when grass growth is at its peak. We then store it in clamps or round bales and feed during the winter months when the grass no longer grows. 2 years ago we invested in silage mats instead of using old tyres. Brown cows grazing green fields, the sea views are an extra bonus 😍 #grasstoglass . . The cows are starting to develop their winter coats. We keep our youngstock outside all year round, however in the winter months grass growth is slow so we use some of @jerseyroyals land over winter when they’re resting fields from potatoes.
