“Oh my god, I’m so hungry,” Luke says again, looking up in surprise like he’d forgotten. He rubs at his belly a little. “Jeez.”

“Noodles are still in the cabinet,” Alex reminds him, shaking his head in barely concealed amusement. “Listen, I gotta go pick Bobby up from work. Fucking eat something, yeah?”

Luke nods vigorously like he’s trying to shake his brain loose. “Yeah, okay.”

Alex doesn’t believe him for a second.
