3, 12, and 34 for questions for fanfic writers? <3
Going back and finding things in my inbox I never answered... I believe this was from this ask meme.
3. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
...I honestly haven't got the foggiest. O_o;;; This is probably low self-esteem talking, but I am constantly surprised when people think my writing is good or worth reading. OTZ So I have no idea what makes them stand out. OTZ
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
I recently started working on a plot bunny that I've had bouncing around my head for MONTHS that I've fondly nicknamed "The Time Swap AU." Essentially what happens is that TLT2 era Wu Xie and post-TLTR Yucun era Wu Xie... swap bodies, and then have to deal with the resultant fallout with dramatically different circumstances and honestly, almost genres.
TLT2 era Wu Xie finds himself in a domestic, gently healing amnesia trope romcom and post-TLTR Yucun era Wu Xie finds himself in a Time Travel fix-it/don't fix-it angst-fest in which he's doomed to relive some of the most difficult years of his life.
And also themes of reconnecting with parts of yourself and your loved ones you'd thought long lost and coming out the better for it.
It's gonna be fun. ^_^
34. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.
...you get a part of Convenience because I STILL love this bit and I really need to come back to this story again someday.
Fusheng slipped back into bed, gaze sliding around the room, cataloging the damage from the evening, the things he would have to clean up come morning, before he had to explain it all to Luo Cheng… or worse, Shuang-jie. No.  No, he couldn’t risk that.  Shuang-jie would see the bruises, no matter how he tried to hide them.  She would ask, and she would scold, and the word ‘convenience’ would slip off his tongue and shatter on the floor for him to cut himself to ribbons on and she would know—
Fusheng bit down hard on his forearm, breathing ragged as he fought to get himself under control, adding one more damning bruise to the set he already had.  When Fusheng came back to himself enough to disengage his teeth and lower his arm, Xingcheng had shifted, turning towards him in the bed, his left arm now slung over Fusheng’s stomach, his hand heavy and possessive where it lay, and a sweet, contented smile on his face as he curled closer.
And, in spite of his turmoil, that smile… that possessive arm… they sparked a surge of warmth in Fusheng’s chest, even as a tendril of deeper, darker heat coiled low in his belly.

OK, so I already answered the first one, but the post was getting kind of long, so here is the answer to your second question, @buriedbybooks!
[In reference to this post.]
So, the threesome fix-it AU for GYADL starts out with a scene that I now can’t link you to because of AGAIN, the Terminated Account Incident (WHICH I’M STILL HOPING WILL BE FIXED SOON... again for anyone else watching, this is eirenical coming to you from a very old blog that I haven’t really used in 9 years. :P).  *coughs*  I digress.
So, events are going to run relatively close to canon until about episode 16, with the glaring exception that Fusheng and XXC ARE in a sexual relationship, which XXC thinks is a friends-with-benefits situation, an arrangement of convenience, as it were, and that Fusheng knows (on his part at least) is significantly more than that.
One major plot difference before episode 16, however, is after the cave-in incident (since XXC and Fusheng ARE in a sexual relationship at this point) when Fusheng is in the hospital, XXC catches a case of really extreme feels--this is now the second time that Fusheng almost died to save him or someone he loves, and he just... doesn’t deal with it well, at all.  And they end up having sex.  In the hospital.  And Tianying catches them at it.
So by the time that weird brunch happens in episode 16, Tianying has figured out a few things and instead of them asking for Fusheng’s blessing, they invite him into a threesome.  At this point, Tianying knows that this is love on all sides.  Even XXC, believe it or not, has caught on that what he feels for Fusheng is closer to what he feels for Tianying than he originally thought.  Fusheng, OTOH, thinks this is yet more of his arrangement of convenience with XXC, that they just want sex from him and nothing more.
There is a significant BDSM undercurrent to the entire relationship, because honestly, I stand by my earlier statements that Fusheng is the subbiest sub to ever sub, but because none of them really KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING, there is also a significant issue with sub drop that just gets worse and worse as the relationship continues, until eventually it all comes to a head and they manage to sort themselves out and live happily ever after.  ^_^

GYADL threesome fic!!
OK.  SO.  XD  You, @miss-ingno AND @fetchmeagiraffe all asked for this one, so here we go, I guess.  XD
(If anyone else would like to ask about a WiP title, here is the list. ^_^)
This particular fic was one of the first (possibly THE first) plot bunnies that pounced me when I started watching the show. It’s a canon divergent AU that diverges off of canon shortly after Fusheng’s little “it’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to” routine in episode 16.  And it’s kind of working under the idea of breaking things even worse in order to eventually make them better.
Essentially what happens is this: Fusheng shows up at that little breakfast that should have been an invitation to a threesome... and it IS.  But Fusheng thinks they both just want him for sex.  (They don’t. They actually want him to be part of their relationship, but they figure that maybe HE doesn’t want that, so they don’t push.)  And they end up in this messy little D/S threesome where Fusheng ends up having increasingly worse issues with sub drop and lowering self-esteem until... let’s just say that for a while it’s really bad, and they almost lose him.
BUT, eventually they get themselves straightened out and start to communicate better and then they all live happily ever after.  ^_^
And the very first scene of this fic IS the first piece of GYADL fic that I ever published, if anyone is interested in reading it.  ^_~

Last Lines Meme
Was tagged by both @foxofninetales and @hils79, so I guess that means I should do this.  ^_^  (Also I love these kinds of things, so.  ;D)
Rules: List the LAST lines of the last ten (10) stories you published. Look to see any patterns you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any. Then tag some friends.
Due to fic warnings, all links will be to tumblr posts with tags and detailed warnings unless otherwise stated.
Last lines behind the cut, analysis up front.  ^_^
Well, @hils79, looks like you’re not the only one with a lot of stories ending with people falling asleep.  XD  (Current theory: writing is EXHAUSTING and when I get to the end, I assume the characters are as tired as I am IF NOT MORE SO and deserve naps?  ^_^  JUST A THOUGHT.  XD)
Also WOW, I’ve written a lot of Dead Dove and dub/noncon fic in the last year or two, huh?  Guess that’s just been the general pandemic mood for me.  *sheepish grin*
But yeah, I have a Definite Pattern in my last lines that I rarely break from and it goes like this: “Clause A... Clause B.”  Even endings without the ellipses seem to have that kind of general flow/rhythm to them.  I’ve tried to break out of that pattern before, but at this point it’s practically a signature move, so... *sigh*  Oh well?  ^_^
Tagging: As usual, anyone who wants to do this, please consider yourself tagged because my brian is currently mush and I WILL forget someone, @elenothar, @elin2002, @dreamer-wisher-liar, @fixaidea, @enechelon, @laireshi, @buriedbybooks, @kholran, @highpriestessofjogan
1. Jaded (This is a WiP, but this is the last line of the most currently posted chapter.), DMBJ + TLTR, Pingxie, Iron Triangle friendship, rated E, dubcon, past noncon
Zhang Qiling drew in a breath that shuddered in his lungs, but he forced himself to nod, to close his eyes, safe in the recesses of his hood, and let Wu Xie hold him.  He didn't deserve it, not by a long shot… but even he wasn't strong enough to turn it down.  He slept.
2. Cherished (DMBJ, Pingxie, Rated E, noncon, dark!Wu Xie, dead dove: do not eat; don’t have a tumblr post to this one yet (oops), so the link it straight to the fic, click at your own risk.)
Zhang Qiling smiled… and closed his eyes.
3. To Drive the Dark Away (Les Mis, canon era, MC2, ECC friendship, Courferre, rated: t, mostly holiday fluff, nonsexual subspace, don’t have a tumblr post to this one yet (oops), so the link it straight to the fic, but it’s... pretty tame, so you should be fine. ;D)
A gentle kiss upon his brow and the caress of slender fingers on his hip settled him as nothing else could have.  Courfeyrac murmured gentle reassurances into Marius' ear as his eyes grew ever heavier.  Safe and secure in the arms of the two he loved best, Marius allowed himself to be cradled, to be comforted, and to take those intimate words as a promise to be fulfilled when he awoke.  He could ask for no greater gift than that.
4. sometimes the cure is worse than the disease (DMBJ, Pingxie, Iron Triangle friendship, mentions of past torture, noncon)
Here… he could rest.
So, he did.
5. The Way to a Man’s Heart (TLTR, Iron Triangle OT3, rated: g, don’t have a tumblr post to this one yet (oops), so the link it straight to the fic, but it’s all fluff, so.  ^_^)
They insisted that Pangzi eat some of the hotpot, too, and some of the dishes from the restaurant, but he came back over and over again to the ones he knew Tianzhen, Xiaoge, and Xiao Mei had cooked for him.  They might be a little rough around the edges, sometimes a little too heavy on the seasoning or a little too light, but they'd been made with love and with care, just for him, and that made them easily the most heartwarming and delicious meal Pangzi had ever eaten.
6. Reclamation (GYADL, LFS x XXC, mentions of LFS x Xu Ruian, rated: e, rape/noncon, torture, aaaaaaaaaand we’re back in dead dove: do not eat territory.  OTZ  ...it’s the Whumptober series? ^_^); Link is to the chapter 1 tumblr post, last line is from the last chapter.
Letting go of Xingcheng's hand and watching as he turned to walk back into the house was at once the most thrilling and the most terrifying thing that Fusheng had ever done.  And if that wasn't a sad commentary on what his life had become, then Fusheng didn't know what was.  But it was a step.  The most important step.
The first one.
Now all Fusheng had to do was to make sure that the ones that followed kept him moving forwards.
7. When is a Curse Not a Curse? When It Becomes a Gift. (DMBJ + TLTR, Pingxie, Irong Triangle Friendship, rated: t, accidental telepathy acquisition)
Surrounded by the warmth of his friends, and with the world finally, blessedly silent around him… Wu Xie slept.
8. the stories say more than that (TLT2, DMBJ, Pingxie, rated: e)
And Wu Xie would keep his silence and let Pangzi tell the tale however he saw fit, because it would make Xiaoge smile, and if it would make Xiaoge smile… then Wu Xie would relish every minute of it.
9. beyond the end of the story (Guardian TV, Weilan, Shen Wei & Da Qing friendship, pretty hefty whump, but everything works out OK?, rated: t, mostly for graphic depictions of injury, also has a podfic. ^_^)
Zhao Yunlan smiled the goofiest smile in his repertoire at Shen Wei. "I say we write a whole fucking chapter about kisses.  No.  Two chapters about kisses.  Hell, let's write ten!  Is ten enough?  Maybe twenty?"
Shen Wei just laughed… and kissed him again.
10. Awakening (GYADL, LFS x XXC, mentions of LFS x Xu Ruian, rated: e, rape/noncon, dead dove: do not eat, ...it’s the Whumptober series? ^_^); Link is to the chapter 1 tumblr post, last line is from the last chapter.
Xingcheng reached out a hand to check Fusheng's pulse once more, then pulled back and settled into the chair.  Fusheng continued watching him, eyes drooping, saying nothing.  Finally, Xingcheng said, "Sleep, Fusheng.  I'll keep you safe.  Just sleep."
And in a moment of mercy that Xingcheng certainly didn't deserve… Fusheng believed him, and he slept.

Granting You A Dreamlike Life | Xu Ni Fusheng Ruomeng | 许你浮生若梦, Ep 08
That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying "As you wish," what he meant was, "I love you." --The Princess Bride, 1987
And behind a cut we go for a transcription and because I have FEELINGS about this scene.
[Do not repost. Do not remove caption. Thank you!]
XXC: What wrong? LFS: I... XXC: Okay, I understand everything.  We like the same girl, right? LFS: How did you know? XXC: How could I not know? If you didn’t like her, would you take a bullet for her? LFS: If it were you at that moment... I would do the same for you, too. XXC: Seems like our relationship is really very complicated.
I still maintain that this story should have ended in a threesome.  It really should have.  It’s RIGHT THERE.  *headdesk*
But let’s just look at this one scene, OK?  OK.
The depth of feeling between the two of them is never more apparent than when Fusheng is injured.  Xingcheng loses his shit, every time (...up to a certain point, but we’re not talking about that. XD).  And Xingcheng just doesn’t display that level of emotion except when people he truly loves are in danger or are slipping away from him in some other way.  And we see him display that level of emotion for very few people people in this series: Tianying and Fusheng... and to a lesser extent [**spoiler**]... another woman he feels very close to.  *coughs*  ^_^
So, Xingcheng is drunk and losing his shit, completely forgetting in his panic when he’s yelling for help at Mei Gao Mei that he is a doctor, but the minute Fusheng says, “I believe in you. I trust you. And ONLY you,” he pulls his shit right together so he can save Fusheng’s life.  (And it hurts me on a very deep level that Fusheng is the only person in his life who has that calming and bolstering effect on him and he THROWS IT AWAY.)
And then we get this moment, right before surgery.  Fusheng is mostly joking around, trying to convince Xingcheng that he’s fine, really, ‘tis just a flesh wound... except for this moment.  Fusheng is more vulnerable here than he’s let himself be all night.  And it’s partly because of how he feels about Tianying and knowing that that may put him into conflict with Xingcheng... but it’s also because of this: If it were you at that moment... I would do the same for you, too.
Xingcheng has JUST. SAID. that his logic for how he knew Fusheng liked someone was that he took a bullet for that person.  And Fusheng responds with “I’D DO IT FOR YOU, TOO.”  And if that isn’t just as poignant a declaration of love, then I don’t know what is.  And when he says it?  Fuck.  It’s the most serious he looks in this entire conversation.  The only other time he comes close to looking that serious is when Xingcheng asks him what’s wrong and he’s trying to figure out how to say “I love Tianying.”
Love confessions are serious, weighty business, and Fusheng isn’t confident enough in how either of these two people feel for him to outright confess about either one of them.  With Tianying, he can’t even get out the words, and with Xingcheng all he can do is make a roundabout analogy that Xingcheng REALLY should have picked up on because HE’S the one who just pointed it out... but he doesn’t.  It goes RIGHT over his head, so Fusheng drops it.  Because real emotions terrify him.  Like Shuang-jie will tell him 8 episodes from now, his greatest strength is also his greatest weakness: he hides everything he feels deep inside himself.  And here, in this moment, he’s TRYING to reach out to Xingcheng, to tell him: I love Tianying, but I love you, too, and because he can’t really make himself say either thing outright... it just sails right on by Xingcheng.
And like so many other things in this show, I’m in PAIN over that missed opportunity and I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT.  TT^TT

Series: Part 6 of Indefinitely
Overall Fic Summary:
Xu Xingcheng leaves Dongjiang for a month to return to the training camp that turned him into the police officer he is today.  But just as with that first visit, many things can change in a month.  When Xingcheng leaves Dongjiang, he is resolute, secure in his motivations, his desires; when he returns he is uncertain, afraid, and desperate to make up for past mistakes.  When Xinghcheng leaves Dongjiang, Fusheng is cooperative, but whole and still occasionally defiant; when Xingcheng returns, Fusheng is cowed and broken, possibly beyond repair.  Yes, many things can change in a month, and not all of them can be put right again, but damned if Xingcheng isn't going to try.
Below the cut for further notes, details about the rape/noncon elements and consent issues warnings…
Further details about warnings:
In this chapter, there are vague references to abuse and torture suffered by Luo Fusheng at the hands of Xu Ruian.  There is nothing detailed in this chapter, mostly Xingcheng's half-suppositions of what happened while he was away.  Fusheng is also delirious for most of this chapter, afraid to be touched, and begins begging for whoever touched him to stop if he is touched.  There is also a struggle to get him to swallow medicine which triggers a panic attack during which he nearly chokes and must be restrained.
There will be further detailed warnings on the last chapter, but for now, please check the tags so you have some idea of what you're getting into.

Granting You A Dreamlike Life | Xu Ni Fusheng Ruomeng |  许你浮生若梦, Ep 02
If someone has a heterosexual explanation for this, I would love to hear it. (1/?)
So... I am trying, with all my might, NOT to turn into a Zhu Yilong blog over here, but THERE ARE DAYS WHEN IT’S A BIT MORE DIFFICULT THAN OTHERS.
OK, so I realize that I have watched exactly 4 and half episodes of this show and that it devolves into a really nasty love triangle, which I generally hate, BUT... these early episodes are feeding me plot bunnies like you wouldn’t believe, and I hear there is some AMAZING Luo Fusheng whump heading my way in later episodes, so I’M GONNA HANG IN AS LONG AS I CAN.  XD
So, yeah.  I gather from AO3 and tumblr that I’m out here on this little rowboat all by myself, but I’m going to end up rowing my way straight into writing a fic at this rate.  At the VERY least, there will be more gifsets.  Because these two are ridiculous.  Like... five minutes after this point, Xu Xingcheng is feeding Luo Fusheng and groping him while they’re on a motorcycle, and Luo Fusheng says to him: “In the whole of Dongjiang, the only person who can order me around, I'm afraid, you are the only one.”  And then, that night, they share a bed and wake up in a tangle of cuddling arms and legs.  Just... HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO NOT READ INTO THAT?
OK, I’m fine.  I’ll stop.  But... yeah.  I may end up writing that fic.  Just... diverge from canon in like... episode 3 or something.  IDEK.  It’ll probably end in a threesome.  Because I have thoughts in that direction, too.  XD
But yeah, this scene SERIOUSLY read to me like a teasing fight over who was going to get to be on top that night, and I cannot imagine any other interpretation that makes more sense.  XD

Series: Part 6 of Indefinitely
Summary:
Xingcheng slammed the tumbler down on the table beside him.  "Yes, Father.  I visited the prison.  It's been a long, tiring month, with precious few creature comforts.  But do you know what I found when I got there?  Do you?"  Xingcheng didn't let his father answer.  He stood up from where he'd been perched on the edge of the table, using every inch of height he had over his father to shore up his courage.  "I know you do.  I know what you did while I was away.  Did you think I would be grateful?  It will be days, possibly weeks, before I can get any use out of him, if I ever can, again.  Did you think I would thank you?"
Xingcheng expected his father to fight back.  He expected his father to return that vitriolic volley with one of his own, or at the very least a disappointed scolding.  He didn't.  Instead, he just… smiled.   He smiled down into his drink as though there was no one else in the room.  And that smile sent chills down Xingcheng's spine.
Below the cut for further notes, details about the rape/noncon elements and consent issues warnings…
Further details about warnings and consent issues: This chapter starts off with a verbal confrontation between Xingcheng and his father during which his father gives fairly nongraphic details about having raped Fusheng several times during the month Xingcheng was away.  He also talks about his obsession with Xia Anni and Luo Qingeng and the plans he had (and enacted, in Fusheng's case) to groom both of their children into adults that he could dominate and control so that he could have his way with them in ways he couldn't their parents.  Once Fusheng is rescued from the prison Xingcheng treats him for the aftereffects of certain medications he had been given to induce a death-like state, including a lowering of his core body temperature.   Xingcheng eventually has to strip them both down to their underwear and use his own body heat to warm Fusheng up.  When Fusheng awakes he has a panic attack which lives him dissociated for a time before he finally comes back to his senses.  ...I think that's everything?  ^_^

This is the opening scene to what will someday be a much longer story, but I think it can stand on its own, as it is, so I thought I’d post it as a teaser.  ^_^  It will ultimately be a fix-it for canon that ends in our main love triangle becoming a threesome (because I can’t resist an OT3... ;D), but for now is... mainly Luo Fusheng getting himself in far too deep and then realizing what a terrible position he’s put himself in.
...enjoy?  ^_^
Convenience | Granting You a Dreamlike Life
Luo Fusheng x Xu Xingcheng | Rating: M
Missing scene for episode 3--the night before the morning after.
In Europe… at school… many of my friends had such arrangements of… convenience.  I always thought… how lucky they were to have that.  And now I have that, too!  How lucky am I?
Luo Fusheng lay awake for some time after Xingcheng had finally fallen asleep, those words echoing in his ears.  He’d thought—  It didn’t matter what he’d thought.  He’d been wrong.  He’d been on one page, and Xingcheng had been on another, and that was the only thing that mattered.  Xingcheng’s wandering hands, the dumpling, the way he’d rushed back to the theatre, all but falling over himself to make sure Fusheng wasn’t injured… the way he’d leaned so earnestly against him, pressing Fusheng into the door of his bedroom the second it was closed behind them, mouth opening hot and eager against his… none of it had meant what Fusheng thought it meant.
Convenience.
And when Xingcheng had pushed him across the room to the bed, backing him up with insistent kisses and hands that couldn’t strip the wet clothes from him quickly enough… that hadn’t meant what Fusheng thought it meant either.  And when they were both naked, Xingcheng holding Fusheng's wrists tightly over his head as he moved between his legs, sucking marks into every piece of exposed skin he could reach, branding him with bruises of Xingcheng’s own making to mask the ones Fusheng had earned fighting Hu Qi's gang earlier… that hadn’t been what Fusheng thought it was, either.
Possession.
Fusheng eased out of bed and padded across the room to the mirror.  The kiss bruises that Xingcheng had left behind stood out in livid color against the larger, duller bruises from earlier.  They littered his torso, his collarbones, his neck, raw like open wounds.  He imagined he could still feel Xingcheng’s teeth in some of them.
Not love.
Xingcheng’s fingers had left their own marks—bracelets of bruises around his wrists like fine jewelry… the only type of gift a convenience deserved.  Fusheng pressed the heels of his hands hard into his eyes.  He could do this.  He could adjust his expectations. His expectations hadn’t been realistic to begin with.  Xingcheng was going to marry Lan Lan.  They all knew it.  It had been planned since they were children.  Xingcheng wasn’t his to keep, had never been his to keep.  Not like this.  Fusheng should be grateful to have even this much.  He should.  It was selfishness of the highest order to want more, to yearn for something that was not his, that could never be his… that Xingcheng didn’t even want to give him.
Love…
It was safer, by far, to be a convenience.
To be a friend.
He could do that.
Fusheng reached into his chest of drawers and pulled on his softest set of silk pajamas, hiding that night’s memory away along with the sight of each and every one of those bruises.  Pulling out another set of pajama pants and a tee-shirt—Xingcheng never had been able to sleep with his arms covered—he moved to the bed to dress his friend, his brother.  How many times had he done this?  Helped Xingcheng out of his clothes and into sleepwear when Xingcheng was too drunk to do it himself, or already sleeping?  Too many times over the years; so many times that they’d all blurred together.
Memories did that… blurred together.
So many drunken nights, so many nights when Xingcheng had fled his cold, silent home seeking comfort—in drink, in song, in Fusheng’s company—and Fusheng had given him everything he needed, everything he asked for.  Always.  No hesitation.  Fusheng had kissed him, petted him, soothed him, swallowed him down like a personal benediction… but they’d been young, then, not even properly men.  It had been fun and games, then.  Young men trying to be adults, to take adult comforts from each other, when they were anything but.
It was different now.
In all of Dongjiang, the only one who can tell me what to do… I’m afraid it’s you.
The words had slipped out of him in a moment of sentimentality on the back of a motorcycle, the wind snatching them away so quickly that Fusheng had almost hoped Xingcheng hadn’t heard.  Fusheng had once sworn that he would never let Xingcheng know that, would never reveal how deeply Xingcheng had hold of him.  Da-ge had forced that promise from him one drunken night while Xingcheng was overseas.  Fusheng hadn’t understood then, how dangerous that knowledge could be for him, if Xingcheng had it.
Fusheng understood, now.
And it was far, far too late to do anything about it.
Da-ge… you were right.  You were right, and I’m sorry.  I should have listened.
Resolutely closing his eyes, Fusheng did his best to let it go, to let Xingcheng’s warmth and sleepy weight drag him down to sleep, himself—desperately hoping all the while that that was the only thing Xingcheng would drag him down to… and somehow knowing that he was not going to get off that easily.  Xingcheng owned him, body, heart, and soul… and now Xingcheng knew it.  Fusheng didn’t stand a chance.

Granting You A Dreamlike Life | Xu Ni Fu Sheng Ruo Meng  |  许你浮生若梦, Ep 02, The Motorcycle Scene (2/2)
If someone has a heterosexual explanation for this, I would love to hear it. (3/?)
My favorites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And because there’s still SO MUCH going on here... behind a cut we go for more meta and silliness.  ;D
OK, so two of my favorite character moments came out of this half of this scene:
1) Luo Fusheng straight up telling Xu Xingcheng, “The only person who can order me around is you.”  And that plays SO HARD into my fealty kink, I can’t even tell you.  You have super badass, dangerous Luo Fusheng, who once took down 100 MEN BY HIMSELF IN UNDER AN HOUR and he straight up tells his soft, sensitive doctor friend that no one else can order him around but him.  I straight up MELTED, OK?  And then two seconds later, HE PROVES IT.
“Let me feed you,” XXC says.  “I’m not eating,” LFS responds. XXC: *shoves dumpling into LFS’s face* LFS: *eye roll*  *sigh* Fiiiiiine.  If you want to feed me that badly...  *eats dumpling*
TOO CUTE.  XD
The other half of that character moment is Xu Xingcheng who is SO EXCITED by the dumplings; he’s so happy; and he’s lit up like a Christmas tree to get to eat the dumplings... and he STILL gives the first one to Luo Fusheng.  And I’m just... *clenches fist*  *wobble eyes* ...COME ON.
2) I am now CONVINCED that of these two... it’s not the soft, sensitive doctor who’s the romantic in this relationship.
I’LL EXPLAIN.
So, which actions did XXC initiate in this scene?  Feeling up his friend, for one thing.  “I finally caught this amazing specimen, MUST TOUCH.”  And for another thing (I’m sorry, but I have to go here...) STUFFING SOMETHING INTO SAID FRIEND’S MOUTH AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY.  And I mean... you don’t have to be Freud to read into THAT one.  XD
And now for contrast... Luo Fusheng.  Who fought a potentially VERY embarrassing battle in the last episode to secure his friend's favorite food for him so he can eat them soon after he arrives, when he’ll no doubt be starving.  Who knows his friend well enough to know that he’ll be fretting over having forgotten himself while overseas and not only provides verbal reassurance, but an immediate concrete reminder of who he is, so he won’t have to worry for long about having forgotten.  And then the coup de grace of DECLARING HIS UNDYING AND UNSWERVING LOYALTY.
Just... Luo Fusheng IS the sappy romantic in this relationship and that IS a hill I will die on, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.  XD

Granting You A Dreamlike Life | Xu Ni Fu Sheng Ruo Meng  |  许你浮生若梦, Ep 02, The Motorcycle Scene (2/2)
If someone has a heterosexual explanation for this, I would love to hear it. (3/?)

Hey, Granting You a Dreamlike Life and Zhu Yilong fandoms... if you’re out there...
I have been making gifsets for Granting You a Dreamlike Life, and tumblr has decided to shadow ban them out of the tags for some reason.  So, if you’re interested...
Here is the latest one?
https://eirenical.tumblr.com/post/624942540360220673/granting-you-a-dreamlike-life-xu-ni-fu-sheng-ruo
The tags I posted the rest under are at the bottom of that post.
Enjoy?  And hello, I’m here?  ^_^

I was not tagged by ANYONE, but @jadedbirch did it and tossed it to “anyone who wants to do it” so I’m considering myself tagged.  ;D
Rules: create your own post, copy and paste the questions, and tag however many people you want to get to know better
Relationship status: aromantic and asexual and not looking for a partner of any kind except my cat.  ^_~
Favorite colour: forest green and burnt orange
Lipstick or chapstick: Chapstick in the winter when my lips get Really Bad, but otherwise, neither.  I will add, though, that I HATE the smell/feel of lipstick on my lips.  It’s a whole sensory thing.  :P
Last song i listened to: The ending theme to Guardian by Bai Yu and Zhu Yilong.  (SEE, I’M NO BETTER THAN YOU, @jadedbirch. XD)
Last movie i watched: I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the last MOVIE was Last Holiday?  With Queen Latifah?  I don’t think I’ve watched any others since.  (ETA: OH WAIT, I LIE.  It Was Orlando, with Tilda Swinton.)
Three ships: Luo Fusheng x Xu Xingcheng (x Duan Tianying), Shen Wei x Zhao Yunlan, I’m... tempted to say Wu Xie x Xiao-ge to round out the Z1L trifecta, but I’m going to go with a classic and say Combeferre x Courfeyrac.  (See how I slipped a fourth one in there like that?  ;D)
Book i’m currently reading: OMG, I’ve started SO MANY books and I’m being very ADHD about every one of them.  *sigh*  The Space Between Worlds, Gideon the Ninth, the third book of DMBJ, and I’m not making progress on ANYTHING.  *headdesk*  And it’s not even that I don’t WANT to.  I’m enjoying all three of those books!  But my ADHD has been a real bitch lately, and here we are.  :P
And I’m going to go ahead and tag... @enechelon, @elvencantation, @captainsandcats, @archivistsbelieve, @highpriestessofjogan, @chadthechowchow, @decayingliberty, @mylastbraincql, @fixaidea, @onemuseleft, @doh-rae-me, @dreamer-wisher-liar, @dirtyinfluences, @orestesdreams-pyladesloves, @lizardrosen, @ anyone else who feels like doing this and whom I forgot to tag.  ^_^  Enjoy!
