i feel like majors hatter and hare have all the trimmings of fandom darlings (they're minor characters but they totally steal the show, they may or may not be a gay couple, they're enemies to lovers-or-friends-who-even-knows, they're funny, there's so little to go on with them that there's a ton of room to speculate) and for the life of me i can't understand why they're not a bigger thing in the mechs fandom. i think they're so utterly delightful

#talk tag #i feel like the golden age of the mechscord when we were collectively inventing all the lyf lore would've been the time #i don't know that the fandom is still small or centralized enough for that sort of truly collaborative creative effort #which is what i think hatter and hare deserve #like. sure. they're only in one scene of one song. #but it's not like lyf is that major a character when you get right down to it. they're a framing device #and really what everyone seized on was expert testimony. so that's also just one scene #i know my usual MO is complaining that fandoms don't care enough about femslash #which they don't #so it's maybe counterproductive to try to get the mechs fandom to make more content for an m/m ship #but hatter and hare are just so fun i really enjoy them
