Billy sits in front of a camera. He is exhausted, underneath his eyes are dark rings, his medics uniform is covered in grime. He raises a hand in greeting. “Hello… whoever is watching.” He took a deep breath. “My name is Billy Acachalla. I-“ He looked downward, “am the last of my family. The last Acachalla.” He shook his head and added quickly, “At least that I know of!” But it is clear he does not fully believe his own words.

He scratches at a scab on his cheek. “Maddie friend said that it might be good for me to… record my thoughts. She says a lot of smarter stuff now-a-days. Ever since Papa- he- died.” Billy struggles for the word for a moment before settling on died. “Ever since he died, Maddie has been different. She’s still gross and wants my blood but she also doesn’t want to hurt me. Which is good!” He added quickly. “But it’s just another thing that has changed.”

“Anyway! If anyone is out there, I’m here, I just- me and Maddie would love to talk to others!”

HEADCANON/THEORY/RAMBLE???

Okay so hear me out yandere Gertrude?? At least with how I remember her being portrayed she's quite overprotective/possesive of Papa Acachalla especially when Sally Betty Jessica (his ex wife) is around. Papa Acachalla also comments on how he's scared of Gertrude/she's scary when she's mad to the kids a couple times when they're getting up to trouble.

Anyways anyways then there's Maddie Friend and how Gertrude (if my memory serves me right) is somewhat supportive or at least doesn't seem to think as negatively of her as everyone else does (I remember her saying that she thinks "it's cute"). While Papa Acachalla is very against Maddie Friend and is always helping Billy get away/hide from her whenever she's around.

Now what if Gertrude is supportive of Maddies pursuit of Billy BECAUSE that's what she did with Papa Acachalla? I remember her chastising Papa & Billy for being "mean" to Maddie and trying to convince Billy to give being friends with Maddie a try. Even going as far as telling Maddie where Billy is hiding.

I personally think it would be really interesting if Maddie and Gertrude had a sort of mentor/student relationship where Gertrude helps Maddie make plans and gives her tips based on her own experience with Papa. Maybe even trying to set Billy up on a blind date with Maddie?

Meanwhile Billy and Papa Acachalla having a parallel (or is it mirrored?) relationship with Papa trying to help Billy escape Maddie using his own experience with Gertrude and just aggahdhhshqjwk this idea has been sitting in my head for a while and I love it so so so much even if it turns out none of it is based in canon whatsoever lol.

OH AND THAT WOULD MEAN GERTRUDES "RIVAL" WAS SALLY BETTY JESSICA OMG OMG IM DRAWING THIS (and then Gertrude just straight up nabs Betty's daughter Sally omg omg omg the angst possibilities-)

Not niche quite yet, but thoughts on maddie-friend? Because of her obsessiveness I was thinking corruption— since toxic love is a bit of a subcategory of it — but she doesn't have to be an avatar at all, does she? Because of her connection to Billy and Darth Caluclus, I almost want to say she could start off similar to the people in the archives— someone who was brought into a world that was way bigger than her and may get swallowed whole

I'm going to spare these out in the order I received them lol (we're watching TV but I'm so excited to answer these)

Ok! Maddie-friend, now she's not a character I remember a ton of but oddly I do remember her lore. (Aka I know to a certain extent and prey on the wiki for the rest)

I think she'd be either a corruption avatar like you said or a Desolation avatar.

But I also think she wouldn't fit as an avatar just like Aimee. Rather I see her as a Moth in a way.

You brought up Darth Calculus, whose definitely a web avatar. And that got me thinking. In TMA we learn that the web can create soulmates, two people who are intrinsically entertwined in their fates. What if like Gertrude and Agnes, Billy and Maddie-friend are soulmates?

But I doubt Darth Calculus would be fully patient enough to not nudge them together.

Maybe she grounds him, maybe she pushes him further to his own avatarness.

I was sensing I had done too meny centered around P.I.E (yeah it was only two but still), so I decided to break it by drawing the unlucky gal herself, Maddie Friend.

With her high reputation among the colonies and scavengers, it's a suprise that she can't seem to break through to Billy, who's terrified of her down to the bone. She hasn't thought about the symbol on her back and odd ability to find Karma Flowers might be a factor.

After all, why would a slugcat who's rarely raised an attack hold a rose grown from death?

Billy seemed to brighten up as the message flashes across his vision. "Yes!" He burst out. "I-erm - I mean we're doing good!" He can hardly contain the smile that blooms on his face.

He turns around in his seat, chirping. "Maddie Friend! Someone's talking to us."

Maddie perks up at this. She quickly heads over to the front. Much like Billy, she is exhausted and grimy. Her hair is cut into a shortened bob and she seems to be missing her right arm. She cracks a smile. "We're doing just swell. We're currently hiding in our highschool basement."
