It was at this point he realised, that as he wandered in, (he was not telling his other self he shaved, that conversation was staying where it belonged.) Something smelled nice and it was a lot quieter than he would have thought.
“Anthony, my God What? Why didn’t you tell me sooner. I’ll be right there.” Maria said.
She didn’t even both to tell Jarvis where she was going even though he was following behind her because she was no panicking.
“What hospital are you at? And what happened?” Maria asked after catching her breathe and starting the car.
“Oh, god, Mom, you don’t need to come,” Tony groaned, but he knew it was no use - she was going to be up here as fast as if she’d flown. Reluctantly he gave her the name and address of the hospital. “I’m fine though, he insisted.
Maria walked close to him over by the bed. She took his hand in hers. She felt the tears come back into her emerald eyes as she looked at him.
“They didn’t even tell me oher the phone what was wrong. So I just.” She trailed off.
“What happened?” She asked softly.
Her eyes avoiding his gaze seeing how badly his face looked made her heart hurt a little more.
Howard smiled softly at her. “It was the stupidest thing, really... I hit a goose. Broke the windshield, couldn’t see a thing, was too close to the ground to pull up.”
"I'm afraid your mother found out you're a father, dear. She saw the booties I was knitting for little Anzhela."
Tony hadn't heard much past that in his conversation with Ana, and he'd been focusing on it for the last two days. It had taken him that long to work up to calling his mother. His biological mother, as he described her, rather harshly, to his partners. He missed her. He regretted cutting her off when he had his father, but it had felt unavoidable, and it wasn't as though they'd ever been particularly close. He'd certainly never felt close to her. And how could she ever understand his arrangement? It had even taken Edwin several months to wrap his head around.
But he called. He owed her that. How could he just not call, after she'd found out news like that? "Hi, mom."

He’s honestly not sure, one minute he’s trying to fathom just how and grasp that she is here of all things, like what happened even? He’s not sleeping that’s for sure. The next he’s close to tears because holy shit she’s here, omg and less on the how things. Not sure he wants to at this moment. One sentence from his mother and he doesn’t need it repeating, who would. Tony is probably going faster then he has since who knows when just to hug her.
She knew her eyes were still red and she hated looking at him knowing how upset she was previously.
“It’s fine, you’re here now it Dosent madder. You want to go get lunch? Let’s get lunch.”
Maria said standing up and walking to the door, she knew she wouldn’t get very far before he stopped her.
Tony wasn’t going to let her just brush the whole thing off. “Mom,” he said, getting up again. “Mom,” he said, “I think it does matter. You want me to make some coffee?” That would give her time to calm down properly, and then they could talk about it in private.
Tony approached his mother, having been home from MIT for the summer. He hadn’t seen her since he arrived home late last night and now he finally got the chance to have a conversation with her. “Hi, Mom.” he nudged her gently with his hip and smiled at her. “Nice to see you here, yeah?” He teased.
Peggy frowned slightly, studying the other woman with narrowed eyes. “Forgive me for saying this,” she said carefully, watching Maria. It was a sensitive subject she was broaching and she didn’t want to overstep any bounds. “But, Maria, have you considered, I mean-- I’m sorry, this is wildly personal. But is there any chance you might be pregnant?”
@mamastark / “You needed a hug.” Maria said wrapping her arms around him. / answered / accepted / prompt
Tony will admit he does, if only because this is his mama and lord knows those will always be the best kind of hugs. Leaning in and letting it engulf him. “Yeah.” Was the softest of replies.
