rayan's apartment is pretty chaotic, and that's very much who he is in general. clothes on the floor because he forgot to pick them up (said he would pick them up and immediately forgot), instant noodles wrappers because he's a bad and lazy cook, the bed unmade because he was in a rush to work... at least one baking book opened up at a new recipe is chilling on the counter. he'll get to trying it out

sil's living place was always .. semi tidy. there wasn't a lot to be misplaced there, and sil took great care not to damage its own stuff. but they also never rly felt like its own... so it didn't take the time to rly find a place for them. but there was also not much else to do in the basement, so it just kept reorganising stuff.

el's space is an ecclectic mix of all their hobbies and interests. the objects are neat and well taken care of, never forgotten, never damaged, (or fixed immediately and with love,) even if they don't have a "usual place". it can look messy at times but taking one look at their corner of the house would be enough for anyone to tell it's el's. colouring books, plushies, half finished sweaters, SO MUCH YARN, knitting needles, crochet hooks, books, puzzles, colourful papers-

nate's dorm room is VERY tidy. clean. not a speck of dust. it gets messier as the semester goes on and he gets more and more sleep deprived + has less time to maintain a nice space. lots of textbooks, cards from his family, treasured nerdy collectibles

bryce's frat house room is a mess. an organised mess, he'd argue- but no, really, it's just a mess. he somehow still always has clean, freshly ironed clothes for the next day... a mystery. posters on the wardrobe doors, trophies and medals on top of cupboards, a box of condoms on the nightstand. theyre strawberry flavoured

saccharine's living place is also very tidy, because she has people to take care of that for her. she does some cleaning sometimes, because it's relaxing to dust the shelves every now and then, but mostly she just enjoys the serenity of an organised and clean home without having to put in the effort to maintain it. it's a lot of neutrals with surprisingly cosy wooden furniture. lots of wine, house plants to give a warm touch, books on behavioural science, psychology, art, music and culinary stuff (all of which she actually read/used), nice paintings on the walls, framed pictures of precious moments

grace's living space is fucking pink. thats it. thats who she is. reflects her perfectly- ok ok there's a bit of a mess (now hers is definitely an organised mess) and she doesn't like inviting people over and letting them see- she keeps to herself anyway. half empty medication bottles, surgical equipment, a plush cat, the perpetual ticking of a cartoonish clock on the wall, blinds that are at most half open

Okay like,, here are my scrambly thoughts on Wednesday tm

Obvi I’m super happy for everyone who’s really enjoying this series and having fun! These are just my silly little thoughts!! She’s a little long!!!

I don’t think Tim Burton understands the addams family at all! None of the plot choices really make any sense at all if you think about it as the addams family. If you pretend its just a show abt some randos its a fun time, but as soon as you’re like, hey this is supposed to be the addams family it kinda falls apart. This man really just borrowed the aesthetic of the addams family without understanding why or how the addams family.

Because like, the entire bit of the original series is that yeah they’re weird but like, they’re essentially the perfect family. Everyone loves and supports one another. The gag is that the “scary weirdos” are actually totally sweet. To make that joke work you need “normal” people who are not as cool and they need to LIKE EACH OTHER!

So first! Tim Burton says “this bitch hates her parents.” Like whAt! Like the tension in the Addams family almost always comes from an outside force and the family sticks together to triumph. Like, I can see playing Wednesday as “ew please stop kissing” kind of teenager, but to be like “SHE HATES HER MOTHER FOR NO REASON BESIDE ANGST,” you are subverting the core of the Addams family!

Second! Tim Burton rly said “lol stick Wednesday in a school full of other weirdos” like sir!!!!! NOW YOU DON’T HAVE ANY NORMAL PEOPLE TO PLAY THE STRAIGHT MAN. Then this bitch has to be weirder than all the weirdos! (And if they’re weirdos too, why wouldn’t they accept Wednesday????) So if you can’t make her Weirder she then has to be Dislikable and Unpleasant which isn’t really fun for the viewers unless she’s also Better than everyone else, which this man ALSO FAILS! Case in point: the fencing scene! Part of the appeal of the addams family is that they’re cool and elegant, Tim Burton rly said “nah we’re not doing that”

Third! The Addams’ family WHOLE THING is being LOVING and ACCEPTING!!! In the Addams family: family values, they’re literally like “Debby we can get behind everything but pastels tm” They don’t disparage “normal” people, they just think they’re a little weird and wear ugly clothes! I don’t think Wednesday would be horrified by Elle Woods! I don’t think she would hate everyone at her school! I think she might be vaguely exasperated by somethings, but would generally be supportive and kind.

OOF... i dont even have a theme for the major extinction characters sjlklfdhk. i dont.. i dont have most minor characters planned out even

I WILL GIVE YOU HOWEVER, a song that’s been inspiring me for certain worldbuilding things (though i cant say much bc idk if itll end up showing in the story at all but you can have it!)

Oh man, im influenced by a bunch of art and comics but i couldnt pin down specific inspirations for those haha

as for the more broad sense, i also have a bunch of things! significantly, physics and space. it might not look like it but i think a lot about the logistics of things and whatever rules would exist in my universes etc. it does suck sometimes bc it prevents me from doing things just for the hell of it, but i love applying knowledge to things. and space has always been something really close to me, my dad’s an astrophysicist so ive been exposed to all sorts of cool knowledge about it since i was a wee bab

i also really really love metaphors and symbolism, but rather than take inspiration from things i just use my own personal symbolism x) i put a lot of myself in what i do. which.. i guess could be said for many artists too so its not too special haha

and also as with many other artists, i AM fueled by spite significantly. specifically 1. for the people who once thought or who still think id never be good to do art, or that id never get better at what i do. 2. for people who draw wings wrong (especially professional people? what’s wrong with you. im begging you to look at a bird) 3. for people and companies that make terrible designs with terrible decisions (they fuel me to do better than them) 4. for people who believe that the only way to be good at art and design is to make overly complex and visually charged, detailed designs with many colors/hues (all my ocs are fairly simple and have the most limited colors kffhk)

im sure there’s a lot more but ive spent a lot of time writing this out already and i cant really think of anything else so i hope this is a good enough answer!!

god i do NOT have enough knowledge for this but what the fuck was up with the volturi lol. like fuckin, vampire goth club over there did nothing to change over hundreds of years, all of them still stuck in their medieval ways. i remember a plot point that was touched upon was that they had a specific person lure in a bunch of lost tourists through the sewer entrance so that the volturi could drink them and like ?? bro. how is this not investigated at any point, ever. like a shit ton of tourists just disappear ??? all the time?? and no one gives a fuck?? no investigation?? what do they do with the bodies?????

also, they were willing to blast the carlisle family into fucking orbit over Turning A Child (tm) into a vampire, but they had absolutely no qualms about vampire wars/soldiers where a lot of people were irresponsibly turned into neophytes for their strength (like jasper) or people who turned others just for the fuck of it or bc theyd have sickass powers (like benjamin. that was the sole reason for benjamin being turned. bc the dude could feel that benj would have cool powers and he absolutely did... he was a fucking avatar. controller of the elements. and he did absolutely jack shit in the books. im still so mad)

but yeah anyway the volturi are big hypocrites. got nothing to say about their lifestyle and aesthetic tho bc italians just be like that

his horns and the spikes on his forearms and tail are rly solid and rly pointy so theyre about as dangerous as a solid, pointy big thing can be

the spikes on his neck and back are a lot softer though. theyre flat scales and are probably bendy, but still sturdy. they don’t have edges or anything so you wont be sliced up if you touch them but touching them is probably not too comfortable

alex would probably be a crocodile tbh! it’s one of the things i based his dragon form off of for the latest iteration, and i just think it fits him a lot (also its funny that crocodiles are water creatures but alex has a Big Dislike of water)

also i literally cannot see adri as anything other than a snake sklhfsdk. its what he is!! this is like asking someone’s favorite color but not letting them choose their actual favorite. do you want me to lie? do you want me to say something not true??

Honestly i always loved deer but refused to acknowledge it, especially to myself, and much less thought about having one as a sona bc “prey animals are lame” was rly prevalent in my circles for the longest time. everyone was a dragon or a wolf etc bc they wanted to be cool and so did i but i never vibed with it it took me a rly long time to just accept that i rly liked deer haha and i think what made me decide on it in the end was ‘well i can make a deer more monstery if i wanted to, i have that power’ and so i did then later i tied the whole ‘wrong deer’ aesthetic to my own personal symbolism of always being picked on by many until i got sick of it and learned to stand up for myself. my sona is something that’s not for people to prey on anymore, and so am i c:

honestly? ive never thought about it. im not too knowledgeable about dnd still so i dont think id be able to do them justice

ive thought about making dnd encounters based off of my ocs thought (like, how their powers would work turn/mechanic wise) but if i ever did i dont think id use them or talk about them :’)

OMGG i would LOVE to tell you aaaall about my trip!! i miss it every day :”D

it is a bit of a broad topic so i’ll try to restrain myself a bit instead of rambling on forever and ever, hehe. but feel free to ask me if there’s anything specifically you’d like to know about!!! (i have one friend who was just rly interested in the fashion there & we had an almost 2-hr discussion abt korean street wear vs jpn asdskghfk)

let me just tell you about some of my most fave things i did!!

we were only in korea for 3 days but i fell in LOVE, i miss it sm ;;v;; it was just so spacious and modern and chic, and i loved the aesthetic, and the fashion. and the food!!! was so good!! i had this pollack soup that i STILL think about….

we had plans to go hit all the big, tourist-y spots in the daytime and then go shopping in the evenings. but then getting around korea required so much walking/hiking/navigating the trains that we barely hit everything on our list and didn’t get to do any shopping ;;o;; so i HAVE to go back!!!

i think my most fave place we went in korea was the jogyesa temple; it’s a v small temple right in the middle of the city and it’s decorated with like a hundred colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and they light them up at night, and it was like walking into a DREAM :”D pics really can’t do it justice but you can click [here] to get an idea of what it was like!! 🏮🏮

MOVING ONTO JAPAN

jpn was much smaller and more cramped/crowded in comparison to seoul, w a much more grungy and rustic vibe, but it was charming too!!!

shinjuku quickly became my fave district bc i feel like almost all my fave things i did were in shinjuku!! we went to sekaido, which is this huge stationery store w/ like 5-6 floors just FILLED w cute stationery, and i DIED from the happy :”D i was literally in there forever and i bought sooo many cute things, it was the best day ever!! we also saw an AMAZING view of the city from the top of the gov building (WHICH I WROTE IWAOI DOING IN A FIC ONCE), and it was sooo beautiful, i was *v* shinjuku was also where i went for a nice walk in the national garden while listening to classical music and wandering for over an hour through the prettiest greenhouse ever–TAKE ME BACK ;A;

the ashikaga flower park was v far away from tokyo but sooo worth the trip, it was a DREAM. look at this photo!!

this is JUST the view as soon as you walk in, then it gets even more beautiful!! they also have classical 🎵 playing through the park and offer all the guests sun ☂️s, so you can stroll through feeling like a classy shoujo heroine ;>

there was one day when we played w 🦉 in an owl-themed cafe and it was. SO. COOL. we got to pet them and even hold them!! they were a bit intimidating but also v cute bc they would be very happy to be petted and close their eyes and enjoy it!!

other fun things i did in tokyo: sailor moon store!! sooo many cafes. todoroki valley. meiji shrine (a staple). a 🌺 market/cafe! teamlab borderless WHICH WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER i can’t even explain but it was a digital arts museum and it was SO cool and trippy, pls google it!!!!! *v*

then we were in osaka for a few days and it was SUCH a different vibe than tokyo but still v grungy and Aesthetic!!! there was a big night-life there and cool murals were on the walls and also what was cool is that a bunch of places had giant figurines and such placed above their shop doors that were really fun to spot!! i saw a spider-man, a dragon, a giant puffer fish, even a giant takoyaki asfkdshgk

osaka was a lot of ⛩️ hopping and aquarium/ocean and karaoke and late night arcades. my sis surprised me with a music box that plays arashi’s “one love” and i cried!!!! ;;u;;

i also went to sendai (BC OF COURSE) & maxed out my little weeb ❤️ seeing the place where hq takes place and went to date masamune’s monument wearing seijou colors AND WENT TO SENDAI CITY GYM and had a Moment (that my sister did not understand akdahskfh) while looking out at the gym :”)

and um!!! UMMM i will. End here :”D

sorry i ended up rambling forever after all asdksjf but this was like a rly quick rundown of the Big things that i got to do!!

if you’ve never been to either korea or japan before, nonnie, i sincerely hope you get to go one day!!! i’m absolutely in love w them both!!!!

tbh this is a copied intro from a few months back and i don’t have the time to perfectly incorporate her recently developed bg, so pls anticipate a small bio with that explained HERE

buT she became involved in music through her father, who studied it in uni and ended up becoming a music instructor with a focus on piano, flute and vocals

her and her mom.. also her older brother, didn’t have the best relationship when she grew older, which seemed to die altogether when her parents divorced and her mom left. but her and her brother’s still exists, it’s just that he’s a bit of a toxic influence on her and she tends to distance herself from him

went to uni in seoul to pursue music like her father ( a daddy’s girl too like ) and found her way into the world of production !! by junior year, she’d transferred out of her original program and majored in that instead and has loved it ever since; she recently graduated

moved to gangnam bc.. idk, she just wanted to KDFJSGLGKFD

impulsive brat

would visit jeju island when she was younger bc her aunt lived there

she adores said aunt, her dad’s sister and the maternal figure she Deserves, so overall jeju holds a special place in her heart

for the time being, she works full-time as a barista at the café just a block from her cute little studio apartment while looking into internships at record labels for her to take on a little further down the line ( no rush bc it’s already quite competitive and she’d rather enjoy what she has going now )

she’s also making something of an income as the creator of an acct on youtube and soundcloud for her music, something she’s had for abt two years now

she’s not even close to making it big yet, and she doesn’t mind if she never works for a moderately to highly popular label — though she should if she wants to get by

among the aesthetic, lo-fi music crowd ( one of those yt accts with a livestream for certain playlists that go on for hours, rip ) where for the most part, it’s personal faves mixed with her own works, and has a substantial following as of now. but has an interest in experimenting, with mashups ( as a lover of them ?? i couldn’t help myself sgflkdsjg ) for example, with a small fear of how that change would be received

this is so short now that i’ve shortened it immensely iK, it’s a little infuriating if you ask me ljkgdfjls

in terms of her personality and other things:

she’s a very loyal person, v e r y. while like i said ( and will elaborate on in her bio ), her relationship with her brother is Not Great, she hasn’t completely given up on him. maybe for the time being, but her being someone who’s open to the idea of people changing for the better somewhere down the line, leaves a bit of room for her to possibly change her mind if he does enough to allow her to consider it

so she can be a bit of a doormat in some cases, it all depends on how she sees the person that determines if that’s the case, but she generally won’t let you off if you’re being dumb/an ass to someone or if she gets advantageous vibes from you for example ( given she can.. be a little naive and is a p gentle soul ) so.. idk fgklsj good luck to the 99% ig ??

she does have a slight dependency on others despite her thinking all signs point to the opposite, and even though her and her mom never rly had a good relationship she still reels from the neglect/abandonment some days so handle her with Care if she deems you a close pal

spontaneous tbh, moving to gangnam was a little last minute on her part, for one

she’s a bit reclusive when focused on something, if she tells you she’s working on a track, it’s essentially a head’s up that you might not see her for a couple of days depending on how soon she gets it done — lowkey that bitch™ who makes up an illness to her boss, so she wouldn’t even show up for work if it’s more than just her fucking around

bc admittedly, a lot of what she posts is fucking around and liking it, her more thought-out and effort packed projects are hidden away on her laptop

a bit insecure with her work and just her general disposition ?? those first few points above mess with her a lot and leave her disheartened so.. my poor child

v strong overall, takes people’s shit and if it gets to her, she gets over it p fast. doesn’t dwell on much and will be courteous to you even if she’s declared you too toxic to stick around 24/7

hiii !! okay so first off i was scared abt being a lesbian nd had a lot of internalized lesphobia that i hadn’t realized before,, i felt so convinced that i liked boys nd needed to want to be with them,, so finding out that i wasn’t was liberating but also fucking terrifying. a lot of what first made me realize that i was gay was that i started following some more blogs on here run by lesbians, nd a lot of them talked abt compulsory heterosexuality. i had never heard of that before nd so i started looking into what it meant nd the experiences other lesbian had because of it. i’m not going to go into the thick of what comp het is cause it’s a Lot (but is impt to understand nd i highly suggest u look into it), but i will talk abt the results of it when ur a wlw nd my experiences with it. first off heres a link to a great post abt things lesbians who don’t kno there lesbians experience. so what i went thru was really just analyzing my attraction to men. a lot of it was based off what i thought shld like, not what i actually did. i was going off what my friends thought, what the internet thought, srsly going off what anyone thought instead of what i thought. i forced myself with out out realizing, nd also had the strictest list of things i thought my future boyfriend shld be like,, nd when it came to girls no such list existed. there was also recognizing aesthetic appreciation, like i’d see a good looking guy nd what i thought i was thinking was “wow i he has cool clothes nd an okay face i shld want to date him” when in reality what i was feeling was “wow i want that shirt nd also that haircut nd his face”, which also is not the most universal thing cause that’s more of looking at ur personal gender expression. also i kept having crushes on mlm nd guys who were unavailable, so i was subconsciously going after guys i could never be with. also a big thing that i had to face was that i didn’t want a future with a man, like every time i tried to imagine ending up with or marrying a man i felt some sense of dread. like maybe it seemed okay, i could survive it. but the point is that u shld enjoy it nd lov it, not that it’s survivable. anyway what i’m trying to say was that attraction wasn’t genuine nd i was just forcing myself to be into guys when i rly wasn’t. this sucks nd still happens, but now i’m more aware so i’m better at understanding my own shit so that’s cool. but my main point is that it wasn’t that i just woke up one morning nd was like “I Am A Lesbian” no a lot of it was working thru a lot of internalized bullshit nd fighting against a fucked up society that told me that i had to like men,, nd i still question myself cause jesus christ its hard sometimes,, but nd in the end i chose to call myself a lesbian, i chose women.

1. hi my name is marina ((but that’s in my basic blog description so i’m gonna pull a sophie and give u 2 facts in one thing even though it’s CHEATING)) and I am...... a millennial sjw ...............smh millenials..............,,,,,,,,,,,,

2. I’m at uni and i study social justice stuff and also geography (migration...immigration.....urban planning....) and I’m pretty good at writing essays but i procrastinate like nobody’s business lol (yikes!!!) and i like to read (which i guess is good cause i probably have 200 pages a week!! not including when i have to read (a) whole book(s) ie english!)

3. I’m not like a masterchef but I can do a recipe i’ve never done before and generally have it turn out pretty good which is apparently impressive to some? i like baking with friends as a fun thing to do but I’m also really controlling in the kitchen so it’s probably not that fun after all LOL

4. I’m allergic to almost everything lol. including:

dogs, cats, any furry animal that exists

birds and feathers

dust, mould, etc

trees and grass,

some random medicine i dont know the name of (i didnt know this until like last year cause i went to emerg but ya thats a thing it apparently gives me a rash)

5. i’m an anxious bean but like under really like......inconsistent (?) circumstances? or more like uh....non-.......whats the word like when it doesn’t match what your brain thinks something it would be (WHATEVER) anyway like yesterday I almost cried cause i didn’t understand a card game but one time when i was a kid my little bro had a seizure and my parents had to rush him to the hospital and we had to call my grandma to come over, and like my sister was all !!!!!!??? boo hoo hoo and i was all like “gimme the phone i’ll do it”. like sometimes i keep a very cool head in situations you wouldn’t think i would and sometimes im a mess in a situation u’d think i wouldn’t be u know what i’m trying to say

6. I really like music but i’m not like that Musical Person friend. Like I listen to a lot of music of a bunch of different genres and time periods and in elementary/high school I played the trumpet (i also did piano and euphonium but like if u gave me one of those now I wouldn’t be able to do much with it whereas if u gave me a trumpet.....man). I really like acoustic songs, and songs with violins and saxophones in it, HARMONIES, songs where people’s voices go really “raw” sounding, songs where people’s voices have that like “radio voice” filter, songs that start off kinda soft and then BUILD!!!!!, and songs that have a bunch of different parts all doing their own thing but then they all come together for this multilayered goodness!!!!!. If anyone other than John or Sophie is reading this (bless your soul if so) and if u have song recs for me, like, lay them on me i always need new music

7. I don’t get a lot of mainstream references but I have a weird um...pool of reference material that I can pull from?? like i’m not like That Guy who’s like rly obnoxious always talking abt those obscure movies but my parents are both like from drama stuff and like movies/shows and are also huge nerds so i’ve seen like a wide array of genre-d stuff. plus i took a film course so i’m basically an expert. did you know that plot and story are two different things? Story is whe---

8. My family’s kinda complicated. (wow i sound like an emo blog in 2006 but i just didnt want to start another long rambley sentence so here we are) My mom’s side is italian and my dad’s side is british so my italian relatives weren’t too happy abt that (i just learned this the other day but apparently at their wedding my moms uncle [who’s a dick] was saying something inappropriate to my dad, who was like “uhhhh...” and then her other uncle was like ‘ay! tony! leave the asshole alone!’ LOL) and then the british side is full of drama and alcoholics lol. and then the communication in my like... regular fam is a bit bad lol ((also i have like......30+ cousins, (20ish regular and a shit ton distant but less that i actually know) and yet we keep in contact with each other so what a weird ironic twist that is eh))

I can like kind of swim but I also like can’t swim cause I don’t float even though everyones like “ya u do!! people float” i just sink down lol. tho i’m kind of practicing a bit every summer at my friend’s house. i also like to pretend that it’s because of childhood trauma cause i had swimming lessons on two (2) different occasions and they were both awful

when i was like 6 , and i refused to put my face in the water so my instructor was like “Right!” and shoved my head under lol!

when i was like 10 and i was embarrassed enough being like an older kid learning like... level 1 swimming right before these like 5 year olds who were doing the same thing (also in retrospect my instructors were only like 16 im pretty sure, like they seemed rly old to 10 year old me but they were really young lol) and the same thing happened as the other one except with diving lol. like i didn’t want to jump off the deep end and sometimes i would do it myself but at least once this girl pushed me in (basically every time either way they had to pull me up from the bottom which was kinda useless like if ur gonna teach me to dive whats the point if u dont teach me to come up from a dive right?? right)

10. I’m kinda quiet and shy but when I have the chance and am comfortable i go on HUGE rants and also go off on like 12 different tangents while trying to tell a story. like you could probably figure out this about me by reading this post but i just wanna let you know this isn’t a one-off thing just because it’s a Fact Post like i do this in real life and the way i talk is probably just as broken up and confusing as how i type!!! ahhaah

11. I used to be a hater but now I’m like actively trying to not be a hater cause hating on stuff for no reason is boring and liking stuff is fun (tho it’s harder in person cause i’m really sarcastic and pessimistic and i literally can’t stop complaining about things). Some things I stopped hating on recently:

Aesthetic things that are like “basic”/”simple” (i have an aesthetic blog now! who knew!) like pictures of like......curtains?? i used to be like “wow thats dumb” but man textures and also the weird mood that’s connected with your aesthetic it’s so calming

K-pop LOL :)

Honestly?? memes.

Boys apparently??? I dunno how true that is but @1of1prism knows me better than I know myself most of the time (but i still dont give 2 shits abt boys)
