Yeah, people suck. Now that the fandom is on life support, the hate has retreated back into the shadows. Thank goodness! I've read "gen" stories by slash writers where John and Rodney both secretly hated Elizabeth, who was shrill and incompetent. The worst were negative physical comments about Torri (which I never understood, cause the woman is gorgeous).

That’s absolutely baffling to me. I know some people don’t like Elizabeth and that’s fine, not every character is for a everyone, but I don’t get how you can actually hate her

And hating her only for the reason bc she “gets in the way” is just nuts and unreflective.

I’m glad it has become less hateful tho.

But also????? John and Rodney secretly hating Elizabeth? I feel like every slash shipper is always on the look out for the most minute movements, gestures, shots and cuts and scenes between their ship (and i’m guilty of that myself) but you gotta look past that at some point don’t you?

Like for me, I usually focus on one character or one ship the first time watching something and I ignore/forget about 80% about everything else that’s happening but upon rewatches I notice so much more, I realize how full the shows are, how intricate the relationships to other characters, outside the ship!

Also if you don’t ship John/Elizabeth and you want to get her “out of the way” there are so many better things to do than making them hate her😭 a) don’t put her in the story at all. b) make her oblivious to their relationship. c) make her ignore the relationship. d) make her ship them too!

Do whatever the fuck you want but it’s embarrassing to absolutely mischaracterize a woman character for the benefit of *your* ship.

I’m sorry I kinda went off the rails here but that actually bothers me a lot even tho it’s now (mostly) in the past.

an all-time fave is beggar by benjamin james. but i have been *obsessed* with francessca, damage gets done, and abstract (psychopomp) from hozier's new album. like i am playing them on loop lol

20. favorite book?

pride & prejudice, my all-time favorite comfort book. idc that it's basic and overexposed, it's good!! every romance that tries to imitate it is a shadow on the cave wall.

30. favorite color?

I literally don't know anymore lol but I really like yellow and green and pink in a home decor way? like as pops of color with white walls and antique wood. (that is how I am seeing color rn lol)

Okay I have a question. If Trump is charged, will they put him in hand cuffs? I just reaaaaally want to see him be dragged into the back of a police car like any common thug. (Not that I'm a bitter person or anything).

I have no idea, apart from guessing that the overall drama level of Trump's arrest will be 100% up to him. The DOJ was willing to do the raid quietly, and frankly would have to do this ultra-quietly, or the red-hatted MAGA hordes would literally swarm down with AR-15s and attempt to start a war. It's going to be extremely delicate either way, but Trump's endless need for attention, publicity, and victimization means that he will do his best to throw a fit and make it a spectacle.

Whether this means they will have to hog-tie him and throw him in the back of a cop car with a bag over his head: who knows, but I'm guessing not, because they will want to manage the optics as carefully as possible. However, that doesn't rule out him taking the perp walk in handcuffs and escorted by feds in sunglasses, which I would likewise pay real money to see. As I have said before, if the government releases the footage of the arrest on Pay Per View, they could probably literally wipe out the rest of the national debt. So, y'know. Just an idea.
