I'm going to be thinking forever about how Tew immediately fell in love with Guy when they first met in-person which explains why Tew was so quiet and awkward (despite being a badass gangster) because he literally has no idea how to handle courtship and dating but he respects and cares so deeply for Guy and it's just so adorable.

Ok Wahl... you got too much dip on your chip. Why would you punch a fucking gangster like that????? Tew has literally murdered before. You might want to calm tf down. Tew is not the one you wanna play with. The GLARE Tew just gave Wahl????? Bro better happy he didn't get murked.

5 BL moments from 2023 that reminded you of kdrama?
I feel like you’re trying to bait me into posting about MDGO with this one lol (I finished it tonight and I did not like it, fam!) I can’t decide if including kbls here is cheating, but I’m thinking specifically of moments that reminded me of mainstream kdrama, so I’ll include them.
My Dear Gangster Oppa
Now obviously this Thai show was very intentionally calling to kdrama and is based on a Korean webtoon. But I gotta say in that first ep where Guy and Tew met they were basically doing a kdrama date greatest hits tour and they hit some of the tropes in their (few and far between) cutesy couple moments throughout. The only thing missing was a stop at a theme park to put on some animal ears.
Cherry Magic Thailand
This one is an adaptation of a Japanese work, but there are definitely some kdrama vibes vibrating around Karan. He feels like a classic way too kind and gentle to be real kdrama romcom lead. Big Extraordinary Attorney Woo Jun Ho vibes.
Jun & Jun
They ripped his characterization and backstory straight outta What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? Both amusing and inadvisable because the show is not flattered by the comparison.
Cutie Pie 2 You
Another one that directly references Korean pop culture—in this case, idol music—and invited us to lean into the kdrama vibes with Kuea launching a career there while his improbably gorgeous oppa looks on. This also has the rare distinction of being a Thai show featuring music that is actually good, another thing it has in common with kdrama.
Unintentional Love Story
This one has all the standard beats of a kdrama comfort staple—city person travels out to a remote place and falls in love with a local. Lots of other kdrama tropes abound and you will not be surprised by a single thing that happens (that’s not an insult!).
Honorable mention: His Man 2, a reality tv show that somehow managed to deliver one of the best kdrama romance narratives of the year. I am being so serious rn go watch it.

I'm so excited for the days ahead.
For the first time in a long time, I feel like all my ✨BL needs✨ will probably be met with silly little shows like Twins and My Dear Gangster Oppa, and - if they don't disappoint - sexy series like Playboyy and Pit Babe.
I haven't felt like this since KinnPorsche.
I miss good, high quality series with high heat, not necessarily even romantic ones, not necessarily with a happy ending. I miss series with sex treated as a way to express ALL feelings, good and bad, but also treated impersonally and even problematically.
Just like in real life.
So many of the loudly announced "adult" series, supposed to "cross barriers", "be daring" and "controversial", ultimately turned out to be quite conservative, and the sex scenes were, I suspect, only intended to attract a wider audience.
I love shows like Twins and MDGO, but I really, really look forward to shows like Pit Babe, Playboys, and The Whisperer.
But after so many disappointments this year, I admit, I'm a little afraid to hope. I just.. I really want to have it all, a good romance, a good plot and guys being horny for each other, like seriously, just show it to me, I'm still high on Yang being horny for Phumjai and it's been weeks and it was not even sex scene. I also want to see Pavel and Fluke, who am I kidding lol

One of my favourite things about watching reaction videos to mdgo is ALL the men freaking the fuck out everytime meen appears on screen. Like he almost mercilessly killed a guy with his bare hands? Yeah that's hot.

Guy's response to Tew saying he knows he looks scary being "no, you're hot" is so precious and Tew's driver Tul is just shipping them so hard from the front seat of the car and i love everything about this whole scenario

Tew is down so bad for Guy it isn't even funny. This man is lost to him.
But Guy is so oblivious.
And Tew realizing Guy's crush, labeling it, explaining to him that Wahl really isn't a good friend... I love him so much. And Guy finding the courage to talk about his crush with Tew
Plus Tew holding back from the hug because he's in love with Guy and knows that Guy is in love with Wahl and he doesn't know how to comfort people either.
The way this man pops up when he gets the confirmation that Guy is home and safe? Ugh, he's so sickeningly in love it's painful.
At least he knows it.
