Did you know that some characters used to have different names? Here’s what I found:

Also, I’ve said this before but Deputy Pratt’s first name is actually Stacy and not Staci. In the files, it’s only not spelled Stacy once, in the end credits... which is also, unfortunately, the only time players had a chance to see it written.

According to the files, Larry Parker’s first name is Laurence, the man we meet near Arcade machines is Morris Aubrey, and the fisherman is Coyote Nelson… but his description in the unreleased in-game encyclopedia also implies he died, so that might be inaccurate.

in fact, kim rye has a line of dialogue referencing an incident in which john attempted to pressure her to sell her land while nick was out of town. what does she say john did to pressure her to sell? “sent a truck full of goons.”

she also mentions that merle helped her “get a restraining order in place” following the incident.

the logical conclusion from these facts? merle briggs is a licensed and practicing attorney in the state of montana. john seed is not.

Paragonverse

A collaborative universe made with one of my qpps; heavily detailed and constantly being fleshed out. Pretty Big Sizable

The completed first and in progress second campaigns played with my qpps revolving around Shelbi, Wynne, and Kovin. An immense amount of lore, with them having first been created and played throughout 2020, then picked back up either in late 2022 or early this year for campaign two. Betrayal, questionable morals, and stupid decisions run abound.

I looked through the Far Cry New Dawn oasisstrings files, which are available on the Wiki, and searched for the names of the characters whose fate I had never found any information about in the game.

Unfortunately, there was nothing about the Whitetail Militia, their allies (Jess, Dr. Perkins, Chad, etc.), Dr. Lindsey, Tweak, or even Willis. However, I did find this:

Merle's Goodbye Feels like it was yesterday - Casey came over after the Testy Festy to have a few beers. Hell, he earned it. He brought the community together when nobody else knew how. Slaved all day cooking up a delicious meal that reminded us of who we are. So there we were, drinking beers, talking about the festival, and the next thing I knew the ground was shaking, the windows clattering, sounds of explosions. We gunned it for my bunker. Made it just in time, too. That was two years ago. Two years already. Poor Casey didn't make it through the first. Fell ill, not even the medicine I stocked up coulda saved him. Nothing left for me now. Lost my buddy. Lost my home. If you find this, I've headed south. My old friend Burt's got a place in small desert valley. If anyone coulda survived this, it'd be him. Merle

I haven’t seen anyone mention this note and I’m sure I never found it, so I suppose it was deleted.

I was wondering where Casey was or why he apparently didn’t help Mary May when she decided to stay in the Spread Eagle instead of taking shelter in a bunker, but I guess that explains it…

I really liked two comments from the thread in which they were:

1. {Bernie6127} "I know Zip Kupka was supposed to be one, but they scratched the idea, since every enemy he’d light on fire would just end up going kamikaze on him. I also recall Merle was planned to be one, be he was also scrapped since he wasn’t any different than the regular GFH. Not sure who the last one was supposed to be..."

2. {The_Anarcheologist} "The third was probably the gold bald eagle that someone found in the game files a few weeks back."

 I always had a feeling that Zip Kupka was meant to play a bigger role because of his voicemail message and all of his notes that are scattered around Hope County.

The bald eagle thing interests me because I haven't heard about this discovery until this post.

- I just want to know where each new gun for hire would have been placed in? The final version of Far Cry 5 has a perfect formula of one animal, one female, and one male gun for hire. I guess it was best to cut the other three as gun for hires and just keep the two already developed human characters as side missions.

There was another user that suggested that the three empty slots were just meant for the random fighters.
