The korean forum is called DC Inside and it's indeed like a mix between Reddit and 4chan. Instead of subreddits there are galleries but overall the users are comparable to 4chan for many reasons that are reflected even in that poll.

And the hate comments towards some characters are not only misogynistic, but also ableist, homophobic and racist. For my point of view, the comments directed towards Cyril are the most severe and extremely disgusting as they throw racist slurs around, there is one directed towards Claude too.

As for the comments on Edelgard none of them compare Edelgard's actions to the Japanese invasion of Korea. Most of them are misogynistic (bitch, slut, whore...). Around 25 of them are like this. The second most common hate comments are linked to Korean politics and alt-right slangs. Some compare her to Moon Jae-in, previous president, as in a derogative way, 2 comments say she is a commie bitch, although there is one that calls her nazi bitch. But what is quite telling is the prevalence of users calling her a 홍어 (skate fish) like 15 of them. This a derogative term used for people of Jeolla/Honam as the region has favoured the Democratic Party of Korea instead of the PPP, the most conservative party of Korea. Both are political parties from the right, but the PPP is more ultra-conservative. Yoon Suk-yeol's, their leader and current president, statements can give you and idea if you search for them as I don't want to make this ask too long about Korean politics and online communities even if they are interesting to talk about. So the users hating her seem to be alt-right conservatives.

To conclude, DC Inside can be compared to 4chan and some more extremist online forums have emerged from there such as Ilbe who are the most rotten people if you look at some of the controversies they instigated.
