Little drabble based on @mintmatcha 's Soggy fics, I think about them occasionally, usually alone while cycling through miscellaneous shower thoughts, and this time I couldn't get it out of my head so I had to do something about it lol (tw angst and character death)

Life is hardly ever fair - you accepted that long ago, years before you had ever met Makki. But once you did meet him, your confidence in that fact faltered, flickered like a candle in a gentle breeze. You even allowed yourself for fleeting moments in the dead of night to believe that maybe the universe was saying "it's your turn to be happy." That was all, of course, destroyed by that same universe as easily as a fruit fly being squished the moment you heard his diagnosis. That was the true moment in which you admitted fully, to your core, that life is hardly ever fair. So why then, as you sat at his bedside, holding his hand long past his last breath, were you cursing the universe? Why then, as you watched grim men take his lifeless body out of the room, all but unrecognizable from illness, did you scream and cry at them to bring him back? Why, if you already accepted how unfair it would be? You had already grieved him long before he left, yet that last glimmer of hope he held onto (perhaps on your behalf) being torn away from the world was so much worse than you could have ever imagined.

Caden is one of my rogue characters! He's extremely pathetic. Please enjoy these fun facts about him:

Caden's favorite food would be McDonald's chicken nuggets

His favorite flower is desert rose but like w/e it's not a big deal

His arm was ripped off by a giant hound and he definitely died but it's okay his friend is a necromancer, so she revived him a few days later within the Safety Time Frame before he lost all brain function :) He used to be a lefty but thankfully he was a bit ambi so transitioning was a bit easier

He's a thief and a con man, but he's like, SUPER bad at it. Tries to hustle people in games and loses.

Gets drunk off of the shittiest bottle of wine in the building. Purposefully orders it bc he's cheap.

Will compulsively lie about things he's good at. One time he said he was a famous concert pianist and was believed. Was promptly thrown out when he just banged wildly on the keys.

He's a skilled umbramancer, using shadows to fight, climb, teleport, and turn invisible.

Has RSD and will literally climb out a window if he thinks you're even slightly annoyed at him.

He drinks and smokes, but has been clean from harder stuff for a few years now <3

things i can't remember if i told u abt the yoga tomura au:

toshinori is his adopted dad

tomura and touya are both nepo babies but tomura kind of hates taking advantage of his dad's kindness (touya, in contrast, extorts his father for all he's worth)

spinner comes from a normal family (single mom, little sister) but touya and tomura don't make him pay rent. it wasn't ever a conversation or anything (too cringe) they just have never once discussed it.

tomura thinks you're so far out of his league that at least once a day he has a mini meltdown that he's not good enough for you. when you first started seeing eachother he texted toshinori and asked "dad how do you do laundry" and the next morning toshinori showed up at the boys' apartment in a full white outfit like mr clean and with a bucket full of cleaning supplies in tow

when tomura didn't answer toshinori's calls when he came to pick him up for yoga class, spinner eventually blew his cover bc he answered the door half-asleep and said "tomura? s'not here." toshinori was confused, but touya sealed his fate by walking up to the door behind toshinori (just getting home from a night out) and went "he's probably at his girlfriend's house again" as he steps past him through the doorway and then proceeds to give a SHOCKED papa toshi your full legal name, address, and phone number

Despite not having sisters, he’s spent enough time around ~high society~ that he’s seen what fashionable women wear and has good taste, and a wallet fat enough to fill your closet. So even when you’re not there to pick things for yourself, who is stopping him from ordering bits and pieces here and there he thinks you’d like. Leaving some shopping bags from from nice department stores on your bed with dresses and pajamas and lingerie he thinks will look nice on you. And a bottle of nice fragrance with notes he knows suit you for good measure. He’s being thoughtful.
