MISSING FILES: LOCATED // NOW LOADING...

As soon as Kotori finishes relentlessly insisting in her power, the corruption in the room shifts in an unfamiliar way -- even the mastermind standing before you appears to share in your confusion. Around you, the screens that make up the walls flicker to life with white static. Then...

Something familiar.

“Hey, loser! You done yappin’ everyone’s ears off!?”

The voice ringing out from the static filled screens is, without a doubt, unmistakable; it’s only been calling you all losers since the moment you got here, after all.

“‘Cause I’m gettin’ tired of it, and some even bigger losers got somethin’ to tell you! And ya know what!? Me too!”

The static on the screens finally gives way, and on them, you see Impmon grinning from what appears to be the throne room, standing in front of one of the switches.

Putting its hand on the switch, Impmon shouts while pushing it --

“FUCK YOU!”

> FILES LOADED.

[ ♪♪♪ ]

As soon as the switch is pushed, the already shifting corruption in the room grows. Around each remaining club member, the surrounding holograms begin to distort and shift until...

They are full of color, and fully tangible. They look alive --

Perhaps because they are.

At the elevator entrance, the corruption thickens until your deceased teacher, Wizardmon, and the unknown hooded Digimon from the photo stands in front of it.

The only one missing now... Is Hotaru, whose hologram remains stuck in a dark, corrupted distortion.

You want to react -- of course you want to -- but it seems that the dead have no time for idle chatter.

“Everyone, please! Listen to me…” Sensei says, looking around frantically at the club members. She's not entirely sure where to start, however, and looks at her students and former students, hoping to pass the torch onto one of the others.

It’s a torch taken willingly by one catty Heath, who is gripping his podium with one hand and waving a pointed finger around at Kotori with the other while shouting towards her. “<Liar, liar, pants on fire, am I right!? Get good, scrub!> Hah! Anyway -- yeah, she’s lying about, like, everything, if you didn’t already notice!”

Ren gives everyone a glance, worriedly taking in the sight of his clubmates. It wasn’t the time to be sentimental, but he couldn’t help himself. He looked to Heath.. He had to stay focused. “He’s right. We all fought together to save this world. When evil threatened it, we all joined up to put a stop to it!”

“We crossed swords with these Digimon - Machinedramon and Chimeramon.” Azazel’s voice booms as loud and theatric as ever across the room. As he glances around to the remaining club members, however, there’s a distinct sense of urgency that isn’t usually present in his mannerisms. “The digital world had known of their wickedness far before we arrived to put an end to their wrongdoings.”

Yuna looks at the ground, overwhelmed to see the living after so long, but also by everything new that’s come to her in the past. “W-we tried our best, but, ah...we lost.” She gulps and lifts her head up to look at the others with determination shining through her usual nervous demeanor. “Those two’re still around...I dunno where, but…we gotta stop ‘em!”

Sumi, once again uncharacteristically unchipper, looks sternly at all of the survivors-- especially Kotori. “Koto-chan isn’t the source of corruption: it’s Machinedramon and Chimeramon.”

Kai looks around the room, nodding to all the survivors. He would consider this situation to be a heartwarming welcome back party if not given their current circumstances. “Guys, Kotori’s strong desire for friends was all manipulated and corrupted, makin’ her go and kill Hotaru! Kotori, c’mon! You’re not a dumbass like me - stop this!”

Kyousuke’s gaze flickers around the room, lips quirking into that same confident smile he always wore. “When we all died, we weren’t erased or anything like that. We got sent to the corruption plane - the same place everything ‘round here has been disappearin’ to. You didn’t think you could get rid of us that easily, did you?”

“...Well, not all of us, at least.” Unlike some of the others, Riku speaks without an ounce of compassion in his voice. Slowly, he gestures to those around him. “You’ll notice that Miyamoto isn’t among us. Her data became so corrupted that she disappeared...perhaps she even ceased to exist entirely.”

“And Miyamoto-san...” Rie’s trying to keep her tone even, but she’s still a little wide-eyed, fear about talking about her dead classmate and a bit of fear of Kotori herself. “If Machinedramon and Chimeramon are able to keep spreading corruption, this world will vanish just like she did. A-And then eventually our home will disappear with it!”

And finally, Lani, who is locking eyes with his roommate, his friend, and the person behind this whole game. “Kotori! Please listen to me, this isn't you– It's the corruption. Every person in this room cares and loves you. Kotori-chan, please… you're not our enemy! You're our friend!”

The words of the once deceased ring out through the trial room, and as they finish, Wizardmon points its staff to all of you, and then to Kotori in specific.

“Your friends have sworn to save their own -- and that includes you, Digidestined of friendship!”

Problematic Roommates || Trial 2 || Eri || Re: Hotaru, Keys || Attn: Kyousuke, Taiki

Well, this was confusing.

Eri squinted as everyone argued back and forth. She rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on. What was even happening? She didn’t have enough brain cells to follow what was going on, but she could tell Hotaru was basically the only suspect… But more importantly!

“Haah? So Nakayama and Asashima were in love? And you loved them too? Does that make it some polararmory shit?”

She shook her head, brow furrowed. Nobody tell her she got yet another word wrong.

“Anyway, this is stupid. I’m not gonna spill my secret just ‘cause everyone else decided to be an idiot. Besides, right now isn’t sharing time! Can’t you save it ‘til after we figure this out?”

She paused.

“And speaking of figuring this out… Let’s say it’s not Miyamoto, as suspicious as she is.”

She finally focused her gaze over on Taiki.

“You said you got locked out, but your confused ass found your key in our room when I let you in later last night. So why are you trying to blame Miyamoto?”

She crossed her arms, the gears in her mind turning. Timing was important, wasn’t it?

“You said you ran into Miyamoto at two fifteen. Some bullshit happened then and you think she took your key, right? I was in the main hall at three fifteen and at four I saw Asashima. Before he showed up, I hadn’t seen anybody. Which would be whatever, but then Miyamoto came out of the kitchen around four. We even saw the cookies and punch she had made – we tried some while investigating, dumbass. So if there’s evidence of her cooking, that means she has an alibi, right?”

“‘Cause then I went to my room with Misacchi, where we didn’t make out. Instead we did yoga! Hah, sick, right? It was ro– fun. But at five I made her leave so I could take a shower. While I was in my room, I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. No tape or anything like that. I left at five thirty, but I wasn’t around to let dumbass Tashiro here in until after six.”

She exhaled. That was a lot of words and a lot of thinking.

“So basically it couldn’t have been Miyamoto, unless she was able to work really efficiently in a small window of time. But I had my key on me the entire time… and Tashiro’s had supposedly been in our room. So unless Misacchi did it – which would’ve been impossible, ‘cause there wasn’t tape in my shower and also ‘cause she’s too good to murder – it must’ve been Tashiro or Sporto.”

Hi, Kyousuke. She’s talking about you.

“What were you idiots doing the rest of the time? Were you two making out? You specify anything you did past three. So maybe you had gone in while I wasn’t around, stole my shoes and stuff, and then played dumb. Which you seem to be especially good at.”

She smirked.

“You said you injured some woman while doing a stunt, Ishikawa, but are you sure it wasn’t Tashiro’s life you ruined? But you don’t want him knowing that, right? So maybe… he helped you murder? Or maybe you helped him murder!

“Regardless, I wanna know what you were up to the rest of the day, if not poisoning Asashima and framing me.”

What Was In Your Bag, Hotaru || Misaki || Trial 2 || RE: Secrets, Kotori, Kyousuke, Lani / ATTN: Hotaru

Taiki's information unveiled a lot - the suspect pool had been narrowed down immensely if he's telling the truth and for anyone not keeping up. Whether the others realise it or not is an entirely different matter.

She wanted to comment after Hotaru, but her bringing up secrets had lead to an unnecessary tangent of secret sharing.

"I don't think anyone needs to share their secret to solve this case, unless their secret is murdering Asahima-san."

Just like at the last batch of secrets, Misaki didn't seem too fond of this sharing secrets thing.

The logician clears her throat.

"Back to Taiki's key-- what actually happened to it should really put an end to this case. If he left it in his room, then the culprit had to have been someone who definitely accessed his and Eri's room yesterday. If he had it on him and didn't leave it in his room, like Kotori suggested, then something out of the ordinary had to have happened for him to lose it. We've been carrying these keys for a while now, so the chances of him dropping it by doing what he normally does is low. Like Kyousuke said, Miyamoto bumped into Taiki. It's possible his key dropped then and was put into her bag when she was cleaning up her dropped things."

Misaki looks to Hotaru directly now.

"Did you know about the medication? You two have been pretty close. You even formed a club together. "

And then a look to Lani.

"If you want to check ankles, I'm not against it."

Hamigos Conspiracy || Ch 1 || Eri || Re: Being Friends || Attn: Third Years

"What the fuck? What's a hamigo?"

Eri shook her head, brow furrowed. She was getting extremely confused by the conversation among the third years. Things would be a lot clearer if they spoke Japanese like normal people.

"Stop your hamming! Especially you, Nakayama. It's fucking annoying! We're suspecting you, so cut it out."

She glared at him... Though looked away after a moment.

"But, uh... If Miyamoto says she was with him, I wanna believe her. Why would you lie about this shit? Unless hamigo is a term for partners in crime."

Her eye(s) then widened as it finally dawned on her. Everything was definitely falling into place.

"Oh, fuck... That's it, ain't it? You guys all worked together! It's like outta a movie -- you all covered for each other to get the job done. That's so messed up!"

She snorted, hardly believing her own words. But it probably maybe made total sense.

"That's why I didn't see any of you third years earlier. You were off killing sensei. Man, it'd be impressive if your target wasn't her. Especially when there are other people around who are bigger jerks."

Pointed look at Kyousuke.
