Mogtober Day 25 - Jupidad day!!!
Oh my,  no bragging, but I love how this turned out! If I've ever created sth good, then this is it. I can die happy now.
Also, there are just too many awesome Jupidad scenes... I really like this scene after the first Christmas battle though, as it’s basically their first time doing something as a happy little family. <3
(Oh, and I wrote something for Museum of Stolen Moments day, which isn’t finished yet, and will catch up on Magnificat day! Busy weekend!)

11th October—Favourite AU
i posted today! so today’s story is based on an AU where jupiter takes morrigan from jackalfax when she is four, not eleven. it’s honestly just a bunch of jupidad, but i hope you enjoy it :)
Promises
Jupiter slumped down into a couch by the fire, holding the four-year-old toddler close to his chest. He played the events of the night through his mind.
It was the middle of winter and the temperature was painfully cold. As Jupiter ventured into the night, the frost bit at his face, turning the tip of his nose and cheeks pink. Once he made it to Crow Manor, he was utterly relieved to be back in the warmth, however when he had seen the young girl he was looking for, she was in the corner of the room, shivering, dressed in a short sleeved black dress. He asked if she had any other warmer clothes and her father just shrugged. Jupiter took it upon himself to find her room and dress her in more appropriate clothing.
Once he found her room, he was utterly disappointed. In one corner of the room, a small bed stood with a thin sheet and a small pillow thrown on top. Beside it, sat a small bag. Jupiter thought it must have been the girls belongings and he was surprised at how little she owned.
Before he could get any more mad at the parenting of Corvus Crow, he checked the small dresser to make sure there were no other clothes.
The drawers were empty.
That little bag held all that the girl owned.
He picked it up and placed it on the bed before unzipping it. All he found inside were two other black dresses similar to the one she was wearing and a pair of tiny black shoes. He made a mental note to go shopping for her as soon as he got the chance.
He zipped the bag closed and slung it over his shoulder before exiting the room. He walked into the sitting room where he found Corvus Crow sipping from a glass of wine. The young girl sat on the couch on the other side of the room. Jupiter walked over to her.
“Good evening, young lady. Is it all right if I have a chat with you?”
The young girl nodded and Jupiter grabbed her hand and led her into the empty dining room. He pulled out a chair for her and helped her get situated before pulling out a chair for himself and sitting across from her.
“Well, I’m Jupiter North.”
“Morrigan.”
“Lovely to meet you, Morrigan. I have a question for you. How do you like living here?”
Morrigan seemed to think about this for a while. Jupiter thought that she seemed very intelligent for a toddler.
“I don’t like it.”
Jupiter blinked in surprise. “Oh? Why not?”
“It’s boring. I don’t have friends, but Father does. Will you be my friend?”
Jupiter felt a smile grow on his lips. “Of course, Morrigan. Is there anything else wrong about living here?”
“Father doesn’t let me eat with him. He makes me eat in my room. It makes me sad.”
Jupiter nodded, comprehending the pain in young Morrigan’s voice.
“Oh...another thing. I’m cursed.”
Jupiter wasn’t surprised. He had a feeling her father would have drilled that into her mind since birth.
“Erm...yes...I’ve, uh, heard about your little situation.”
“And you still want to be friends?”
Jupiter couldn’t miss the hopeful glimmer in her eye. “I actually have another question for you, Morrigan. How would you feel if I took you away from here? To my home?”
“Where?”
“It’s a magical place called Nevermoor. And I live in the best hotel there is. The Hotel Deucalion. We’ve got amazing staff, and residents, and a giant cat—“
“A giant cat? I want to go, I want to go right now!”
Jupiter smiled. “Once you’re old enough, you’ll compete in trials to join the best school in Nevermoor. You see this pin?” Jupiter tapped his W pin on his lapel. “Once you finish the trials, and you are accepted into the Wundrous Society, you’ll get one just like it.”
Morrigan’s eyes lit up.
Jupiter’s smile faltered. “Your Father wouldn’t be coming with us. He would stay here, but he can come and visit you whenever he likes. Is that okay with you?”
Morrigan seemed to argue with herself for a moment and Jupiter could see the cogs turning in her brain. At last, she spoke with a note of guilt in her voice.
“I’m okay with that. I’ll go.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
Jupiter nodded. “Alright, let’s go say our goodbyes and leave.”
Morrigan hopped off her chair and led the way back to the sitting room and walked over to her father. Jupiter instantly noticed the straight back, and the clasped hands and the cloud of nervousness surrounding her.
“Father? I’m going to leave with Mr North...if that’s alright with you.” Her voice was shaky and she looked down to her shoes once she finished talking.
Corvus looked at her as if only just noticing she was there. “Oh, yeah. Perfectly fine. One less thing I need to worry about.”
“Will you come visit me?”
Corvus thought about it. “Probably not. I have my own life. I don’t need to stress over visiting some child I never wanted to raise in the first place.”
Jupiter furrowed his brow. “Excuse me, that is no way to be speaking to your child.”
“She’s not my problem anymore. She’s yours. And watch out. She’s cursed.”
Jupiter laughed. “She was born on an unlucky day. That doesn’t mean she is cursed.”
“Well, she sure as hell was a curse on me.”
Jupiter noticed Morrigan clutching on his shirt sleeve, trying to get as far away from her father as possible. He looked down at her and saw the tears pooling in her eyes.
“She is a four-year-old child. She is not a curse on anyone. If you didn’t want a child, maybe you shouldn’t have had one.”
With that final statement, Jupiter picked up Morrigan and sat her on his hip and began walking out of the Manor. He was silent until he got outside.
“I’m sorry, Morrigan. You shouldn’t have had to see that. You are not a curse on anyone. You weren’t a curse on your father and you will never be a curse on me. I promise to look after you and give you everything you need. Okay?”
Morrigan had rested her head on his shoulder and nodded against it. Jupiter could tell she was shivering.
“Just a little bit longer.”
Once they got to the arachnipod, Jupiter found an old jacket and put it on her. It was much too big for her, but it did the job.
They were silent for the ride to Nevermoor and Jupiter was surprised when he turned around to find her asleep. Once they arrived at the Deucalion, Jupiter picked her up for the second time that night and brought her into his study.
He stared into the fire, watching the way it danced. Jupiter started thinking out loud.
“Morrigan...Morrigan. Morrie...Morro...No. Mos. Mozza. Mozzie? Mor...Mog. Mog! Mog is a great nickname! Mog. Moggers. The Mogster. It’s so versatile!”
He looked down at the sleeping child.
“How do you feel about that, Mog?” Jupiter sighed. “It’s all going to be okay. If anyone hurts you, I’ll be here. I won’t neglect you. I will love you as my own. You will come first. Always. I promise.”
Jupiter closed his eyes and let his breathing even out. He slipped down, down into the darkness letting sleep over come his exhausted body, not once letting go of Morrigan’s sleeping form.
i hope you liked it! i took the part where he is choosing a nickname for her straight from the book 😂 we’ve just got to love jupiter and mog and we need to protect them with everything we are

Mogtober Day 3 is serious Jupidad
BUT!
I was re-listening to A Conjuring of Light while drawing, and now he actually looks like Kell... oops.
So it’s “draw one Ginger, get one free” day!
(Jupiter’s dangerously icy look is Kell’s normal face, haha...)
Also - the feeling of desparation for crossing a tiny fandom with a small fandom... Is there a venn diagramm for that?

Yes, I finally pushed myself again to do something bigger! It’s actually the first time I tried digital landscape painting and I have to say, it was surprisingly easy and fun with the right brushes!

Still kind of working out how to shade well with markers, but here’s a Nevermoor/Coraline AU for Mogtober day eleven!! This isn’t actually my favorite AU, but I’ve heard about it before and I really liked the concept of it.

Mogtober Day 18 - Nevermoor City (belated)
I really wanted to not do any Hollowpox images, but after reading the Gobleian Library chapter today, I just had to draw Roshni in the Gobleian Library as a belated drawing for Nevermoor City day! This doesn’t count as a spoiler, I guess? Her existence should be common knowledge by now, right?

Mogtober day 8 - friendship day!
This is probably the greatest act of friendship in Nevermoor, and I’m glad I got to finally draw Cadence. She’s the best (I tend to say that about most Nevermoor characters...)!
I actually really like very simple, naive-ish drawings and find them often more difficult than very elaborate ones. This was super quick and fun though.

14th October—Wunder
i apologise in advance...
I’ll see you soon...
Morrigan trudged up the hill, every step exhausting her more and more. Finally she saw what she was coming for and smiled. She saw him.
She walked over to where Jupiter lay down, and sat next to him. She stared off into the horizon, thinking about everything that led up to this point. She smiled at the thought of her family and friends. A lone tear escaped her eye and she wiped it away, sniffling.
She softly starting singing.
“Morningtide’s child is merry and mild.”
The familiar warmth came to her as Wunder started to gather.
“Eventide’s child is wicked and wild.”
She sat feeling the sun beam down on her face.
“Morningtide’s child arrives with the dawn.”
Her hands began to tingle.
“Eventide’s child brings gale and storm.”
Morrigan had begun to notice that it took longer each time she summoned Wunder. But she didn’t mind. She had all day to spend with her patron.
“Where are you going, o son of the morning?”
She closed her eyes once again, preparing to make something out of her Wunder.
“Up with the sun where the winds are warming.”
The Wunder twisted around her fingers, acting as if it was just an extension of her hands.
“Where are you going, o daughter of the night?”
She focused on the image in her mind, willing the Wunder to do as instructed.
“Deep down below where the pale things bite.”
Morrigan opened her eyes and looked to where her hands lay in her lap. In them she held a red rose. She sighed contently.
“You know, Jupiter...I think that may be the last time I summon Wunder.” Morrigan felt tears prick the back of her eyes. “I’m so tired after every summoning, I just don’t think I can do it anymore.”
She looked out to the city of Nevermoor. Her home.
“I went and visited Hawthorne and Cadence today. I miss them so much. They left a while ago, but they’re my best friends. Going from seeing them everyday to...to this. It’s not fun.”
Morrigan chuckled. “I had a dream last night. Except it was a memory. It was the night after I found out I was a Wundersmith, and I was so angry and confused, I didn’t know how to feel. You had walked past my room and heard me crying and walked in. You just sat there, holding me all night, letting me cry...”
Morrigan trailed off, swallowing the lump in her throat.
“Jack’s gone too, by the way.” She fidgeted with the rose in her hands. “He told me to let you know that he loves you...and, um...he wanted to thank you for being the best uncle he could’ve ever asked for. He said he’ll talk to you as soon as he gets the chance.”
Morrigan let the tears leave her eyes. She felt them stream down her face and fall off at her jawbone.
“I think—“ her voice cracked. “I think it’s almost time for me to leave as well. I just don’t think Nevermoor is the place for me anymore.” She paused. “I don’t think any place is the place for me anymore. I think it’s time I move on.”
She looked over to the gravestone and placed the rose just in front of it, where she had placed countless other flowers before.
“You understand, don’t you? Maybe this is a good thing. I’ll see you, and Jack, and Hawthorne, and Cadence again.” Morrigan nodded to herself. “Yeah. This is a good thing.”
She bit her lip holding back a sob as she looked out over Nevermoor.
“It’s going to be hard to leave this place. I’ve been here for a while. Since I was eleven. Now how old am I?” Morrigan chuckled. “Gosh, I don’t even know. I’m old, that’s for sure.”
She looked back at the gravestone.
“But don’t you worry, Jupiter. You’ll see your little Mog soon. I’ll see you soon...”
i’m sorry! if that didn’t make you feel at least the tiniest bit of sadness, then you’re either heartless, or i’m an awful writer. i cried writing this. it messed me up 😂
i don’t think i’ll get the ezra squall post out tonight, as i need to straighten my hair for tomorrow’s dance performances. i don’t think i’ll get it done on thursday or friday either because i’ll be too exhausted to write two stories. i will try to get it done on the weekend for you all.
i just wanted to say thank you for all the support and love you guys show me. it’s honestly great to either wake up, or come home from school to see positive reactions and messages to my posts. i’m so grateful for you all! thank you so much!

12th October—Evil!Morrigan
okay, so i’ve got a thing with evil!morrigan...i don’t like her 😂 it’s a very tense relationship between her and i. so instead of making mog evil, i’ve written a foundation for a story that she would need to act evil in. i’m sorry if this wasn’t what you wanted for today’s prompt but i honestly don’t think i would have written evil!morrigan well enough 😂 so, i hope you enjoy :)
Little Crowling
Miss Crow,
This is your final chance. You will join me as an apprentice or face all of your loved ones leaving you forever.
You have two hours from the point of reading.
Make the wise decision.
—E.S
When Morrigan had walked into her room that afternoon, a little under twenty minutes ago, she had seen the note resting on her pillow. She had thought it was a note from Jupiter, but it wasn’t written on his signature paper.
Once she had read the note, she found the most disturbing thing to be that Squall had signed it just like her patron always did, with his initials. This made Morrigan believe it could have almost been some sort of practical joke, if it wasn’t for the fact that Jupiter would never scare her out of her mind like this.
...or face all of your loved ones leaving you forever.
Morrigan had read the words over and over again. Leaving? Forever? Does that mean...? She didn’t let herself finish that thought, shaking her head.
Cadence, and Hawthorne, and Jack, and...Jupiter. The one person she loved more than anyone else in the world. The one who brought her to Nevermoor. Gone. Taken away from her. She couldn’t bear the thought and felt tears prick at the back of her eyes.
She looked down at the note again. Her vision had begun to blur from the tears pooling in her eyes. She blinked and one fell onto the note, bleeding out over the words.
Morrigan had never thought she’d be stuck like this. Stuck between choosing her life over others’. That’s what it felt like. If she agreed to join Squall, she’d be giving her life away.
She thought of Cadence. The two girls had grown quite close since the Ghastly Market incident and Morrigan couldn’t have asked for a better friend. A better sister.
She thought of Hawthorne. Her best friend. He was Morrigan’s first ever friend and she couldn’t have been anymore grateful for him. If he left her, she would never again hear his laugh, or his idiotic remarks.
She thought of Jack. Although they argued, he was very important to Morrigan. He kept her company when Jupiter was gone and helped her whenever she needed it. He had taken on a big brother role, and Morrigan loved him for that.
Finally, she thought of Jupiter. Her patron. More than that, her father figure. He couldn’t leave her. He promised her that, but she wouldn’t let his life be taken away.
Right there, in that moment, Morrigan made up her mind. She would leave Nevermoor with Squall to possibly never return.
She got off her bed, with the note in her hand and walked over to her door, where her book bag was hanging. She took out her school stuff, and placed it on the dresser. She opened a note book and a pen and began writing a letter for Jupiter.
Dear Jupiter,
Please. Please don’t come looking for me. If I told you I decided to leave on my own terms I know you wouldn’t believe me, but I can’t tell you the truth. It’s too dangerous. Whatever you do, don’t come looking. I left so you wouldn’t lose your life, but if you try to find me, that might be what happens. For the safety of you, and Jack and everyone else I love, stay home. Please Jupiter.
If everything works out fine, I’ll be home soon. Please just stay strong until then.
I love you, Jupiter. Stay safe.
Love,
Your Mog.
She hadn’t written much but there were three wet splotches on the paper from where tears had escaped her eyes. She didn’t want to think about the face of her patron when he read the note. It broke her heart.
She placed the book on her bed, open to her letter. She then grabbed her book bag and walked back over to her dresser. She saw a picture of her, Jupiter and Jack at the beach all smiling. That day was one of the happiest days of her life. Not for any particular reason, they had just spent the day down at the beach, but she treasured the memory.
She looked over to another picture on her dresser. One of her, Hawthorne and Cadence. She was on Hawthorne’s back while Cadence stood next to them. They were all dressed in their uniforms as it had been the last day of term and Morrigan had invited them to the Deucalion for the night. She loved her best friends so much and she didn’t know what she would do without them.
She opened her drawers and grabbed a few shirts, dresses and pairs of jeans and stuffed them in her book bag. She grabbed the two photos from her dresser and placed them on the bed, next to the letter. Morrigan slung her bag over her shoulder and looked around her room.
“Goodbye Room 85. Thank you for everything.”
Morrigan exited her room wiping away her tears.
She walked the way to the lobby, keeping her head down. Once she made it there, she looked up to the black bird chandelier.
Well, she thought, if I’m not here, at least a representation of me will be.
She walked over to the door, and placed her hand on the handle. Just as she got ready to exit the Deucalion, she heard a voice call out to her.
“Morrigan?” asked Kedgeree. “Where are you going? Does Jupiter know?”
Morrigan felt a pang of guilt stab at her heart. She had forgotten that Jupiter was home and she was slipping out from right under his nose. She turned around to the concierge.
“Oh, I’m, um, just going to Hawthorne’s place for the night. Jupiter knows, so don’t worry.” Morrigan plastered a fake smile to her face before nodding. “Well, I’ll best be off. Hawthorne’s impatient, you know. I love him though.” Morrigan felt tears sting the back of her eyes and turned around before Kedgeree could see. She prayed that he bought her act.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Oh yeah, just tired, I guess. Well, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Morrigan pushed open the door and exited the Deucalion before Kedgeree could say another word.
She looked up at the Hotel. Her home.
She would miss it, that’s for sure. Tears began spilling down her cheeks before she could stop them.
“Goodbye.”
Morrigan wiped her eyes and turned around to be met with a cold, dark stare.
“Hello, little crowling.”
i realised halfway through writing this, that this was probably more appropriate for tomorrow’s ezra squall prompt...but too bad so sad. i’m thinking of maybe writing one or two more parts to this story. one where jupiter finds morrigan’s letter and another where he goes and tells cadence, hawthorne and jack thats she’s gone. let me know if this is something you would like to see.
