#monster girl encyclopedia shoggoth x reader
If requests are open, could I request imagines for a shoggoth with a shy noble reader? (love the idea of this blog btw <3)
Yes! Requests are indeed open! I’m glad you like the blog so far with all three posts XD I’m sorry if this is short, course work has been swamping me lately
The Shoggoth will be given the name Aihybra for the sake of this imagine.
(Romantic) Shoggoth/shy!noble!reader
You were living with your grandfather, a prominent merchant, at the behest of your parents. Your grandfather's knowledge and business experience was a large contributing factor to your family's status, but his health had been declining recently -- he hadn't bothered showing up to his meetings, and most concerningly he hadn't written a hello to your family in several months, which he would do every week with almost religious devotion. You were the only member of your family's empire that didn't yet have a name for themselves yet, so you were sent to look after him. It was a tiresome task, especially with those who would come around to take advantage of his health, and in those nights you would find yourself praying for a miracle to help you.
The shoggoth maid you had received in a heavily-padlocked package the next morning was definitely not what you expected to find the next morning.
In all fairness, the shoggoth --whose name you learned was Aihybra -- was an extremely-competent maid. Thanks to her status as a slime, she could clean nooks and crannies of the manor that no other servant could get to. She could prepare and store any necessary tools in her own body, and she would take care of any job available without a second thought. But shoggoths were mamono, and especially-crafty ones; so you weren’t very comfortable with her being here, especially with your ailing grandfather around. It didn’t help that Aihybra seemed like she was getting very attached to you, either.
“Um, uh, Aihybra,” you stammered, trying to shy away from her. “You’re getting kind of close.”
The shoggoth watched you with her big yellow eyes, staring with a sort of child-like fascination. "What do you mean, master?"
"Um..." You chewed your bottom lip. "Well, you're, uh... kind of on top of me."
The shoggoth tilted her head. “I don’t understand.”
You started to squirm and managed to get away from her, ignoring her dejected expression. “Look, uh,” You swallowed. “I just don’t like being hugged without permission, okay? It’s just, it’s not really comforting to me.”
Aihybra watched you with an almost dejected look in her eyes. She seemed a little hurt by how insistently you wanted to avoid her. But if she was, she was certainly doing a good job of hiding it. She gave you a small bow and said “My apologies, master. It won’t happen again.”
You have her a curt nod and started back down the hall, leaving her by her lonesome. When you got back to your bedroom at night, however, you were surprised to see it in the best condition it had been since…well, probably since the house was built. The carpet would be sparkling if it was tile, the bed was changed and fixed, the furniture and windows polished to a glimmering shine.
And on your pillow was a freshly-laundered set of pajamas with a note that read, “I’m sorry for upsetting you. Please accept my deepest apology.”
You read the note over and over, and frowned as a knot wormed its way into your heart. As many reservations you had about Aihybra, it was becoming harder and harder not to like her.
