11 Questions Tag
I was tagged [a while ago] by @writeontheedge. Thanks for tagging me! Also 11 is my fav number so gotta do this then.
1. Do you have trouble coming up with titles? If so, why?
YAS. It’s my Achilles heel. I usually have to get help from family/friends who have read the book or who I just tie to a chair, explain the story, and demand titles from. :)
2. Which relationship do you write more of—romantic or platonic?
I would say both. I rarely write a character who doesn’t have a platonic relationship or two that are important to them/the plot, but I also usually have a romantic subplot for most of my stories.
3. Is there a character you hate? Why?
I mean not really? Even villains I write who are pure evil I love how evil they are, I guess. If I was the reader, I might hate some, or if they were real.
4. What’s your usual writing routine?
hahahahaHAHAHAHAHAA
...
No but seriously, I don’t have a usual writing routine. I write at all times of the day and night [not usually after I’ve fallen asleep, but it’s happened] and I don’t really have a way I go about it. If it’s noisy, I’ll play music sometimes, like classical. But in college I used to write in class all the time lol I can zone out like a pro
5. Where are you at in your current WIP?
I have more than one. One I’m editing, so it’s done at like 60 70 k or something like that. The WIP I’m writing is about eeehhhhh maybe halfway, hard to say exactly. 24k
6. Have you ever had anything published? What was it?
I self published a novel Desiderium and it’s sequel. Never pursued traditional publishing, may or may not do so one day.
7. Is there a particular trope you love? Hate?
Um I write a lot of friends pick on each other, pretend to hate each other, fall in love. I don’t know if that trope has a name, but it’s just a relationship trope that I enjoy. Hate? I mean yeah. Like all racist and sexist tropes are pretty shit. Other than those, I guess any trope that’s done poorly or overused is lame, but most tropes that aren’t racist or sexist or any other ist can usually be done well.
8. Has your main character(s) gone through any major changes through the course of your WIP?
DER. The WIP I’m writing not quite yet, but it’s starting.
9. Do you have a similar scene or symbol that is in more than one of your WIPs?
Uh, I use symbolism between books in a series sometimes, like in Desiderium the MC has a scar that she got in the first book that represents the change she’s gone though internally, and it’s mentioned in the second book for that reason. Otherwise, probably but I’m not aware of it.
10. Do you edit during or after writing?
Both. I do what everyone tells you not to do, which is edit between writing. I am the worst speller on earth and when I’m writing fast, it’s even worse. So if I didn’t, I would literally have to turn spell check off because there are so many errors it will glitch out word, and word gives you this sassy message that’s like ‘there are toooooo many errors, bye.’ It’s happened.
But I don’t do it at the same time. I’ll write a chapter or two, then go back and just do a brief edit, just to get spelling and glaring things, which also helps me to check the flow of what I’m writing before I add another chapter.
11. Of all your OCs, do you have a favorite?
No, I think I’m always preferential to the OC I’m working on. But all in all I don’t think there is one I love more than the other, though there are some I’m particularly proud of for unusual reasons.
___
I’m a lazy POS so I’m not going to tag anyone, but please please feel free to do this if you see it and like it, and literally just tag me as if I did tag you, it’s fine, it’s really fine. I love reading my followers responses to these because some of the answers are so different then mine it’s interesting!
