Two people who aren’t the best at dealing with their emotions might sound like a train wreck, but it’s not 

It would be an experience, the two of you would help the other better understand each of the emotions you have

If you ever end up saying something defensively and it comes out as something you don’t mean, Kageyama would be able to pick up on your discomfort rather quickly

He’d either take over the conversation for you or try to help you say what you actually want to

The two of you would just comfort the other in a way you’d never felt before, it’s really beneficial~

You appreciate him so much and Kageyama appreciates you, even if he doesn’t say it as much as he should, really he does

“I-I like you.” Kageyama confesses and you stand there in shock, your finger hovering over the vending machine button.

“W-what?” You glance around, trying to look anywhere but Kageyama’s deep blue eyes. “I don’t understand.” You truly didn’t. You should be feeling ecstatic and over the moon but instead, you feel utterly confused. Kageyama looks down at his shoes, his back stiffening at your words. Don’t you see that he likes you? “You like me in a romantic way?” You repeat his previous words but keep your focus on the vending machine, reaching down to grab the water you picked earlier. Kageyama nods. “Oh, I appreciate you saying that. Thank you.”

An award silence falls over the two of you and you unscrew your drink before taking a big gulp from it. You choose to play with the plastic on the bottle. 

“Is that all you have to say?”

Kageyama nearly flinches at your words, this is not the reaction he was hoping for. If he didn’t feel utterly humiliated before, this was an all-new low for him now.

“Yes.” He tells you and you nod again as you try to ignore the rapid beating in your heart. You need to tell him how you feel before he walks away.

“Kageyama, I feel the same way.” You’re still unable to look at him, watch as his eyes blow wide in amazement,and watch as his the weight on his chest disappears.

“C-cool.” Kageyama responds weakly and shoves his hands in his pockets.

“Yeah, cool.”

Daichi Sawamura

Daichi is such a caring and understanding person that he’d be able to help you a lot

Before the two of you started dating he would get caught off guard by your frowardness and blunt attitude, or your lack of emotion in certain aspects

He didn’t dislike it, he was just not used to it

However as the two of you start to get to know each other and eventually start dating, he would find out you’re just as big of a sweetheart as he is

He’d really help you relax when you feel tense and he’d be able to ease the words out of you

He would be able to get you to talk about how you’re feeling and make sense of what you’re facing

Daichi would always be proud of you, especially when you show him that good grade you got on an assignment you were working forever on

Daichi is such a responsible person, he’d be so well at motivating and caring for you~~

“(Y/N) can you help me with the homework?” Sugawara comes up and asks you one day during lunch. “I heard you were really good at these math equations.”

“Oh, sure.” Your tone had an edge to it as if you were bothered by his presence but that couldn’t be far less than the truth. You adored Sugawara and were over the moon that such a good friend of your boyfriend wanted to talk with you. “What question do you want to work on?” Sugawara points to one of the more difficult ones and you can’t help the laugh that leaves your throat when you think about how much you wanted to pull your hair out last night when you were working on it.

“Is it too easy or something, am I just dumb?” Sugawara jokes and you tense up in horror, is that what he thinks? Does he think you find him stupid?

“No, it is a difficult question.” You push lamely and grab your notebook, flipping it open to the problem and handing it to the setter. Over the next couple of minutes, you slowly explain in detail how to get the answer and you can practically see the gears turning in Sugawara’s head.

“Oh, it’s 54 isn’t it?” He asks, partially shocked that he actually got it simply from following your instructions.

“Yeah!” You smile widly, feeling just as excited. Sugawara thanks you over and over and you tell him it’s nothing to worry about.

“Next time, we should work on biology!” He suggests and you nod your head, eager to work with your refreshing classmate. “I’ll see you after lunch okay?”

It wasn’t until later at night when you were at home fixing up your biology notes did you get a text from your boyfriend.

Daichi </3 - Sugawara would not stop talking about you during practice, he was gushing about you constantly -.-

You - Really?

Daichi </3 - Yes, he thinks you’re the best, (Y/N), and he was very vocal about letting everyone know about it. I was almost jealous..

Daichi </3 - Babe,

Your face heats up and you squeal into your shoulder before quickly typing the same thing back.

Tsukishima Kei

Tsukishima is kind of the same, he is not the best at handling his feelings and does come off as very rude and mean

The difference between you and him is that he simply does not care if he comes off this way, he probably wants to

When he started dating you he really quickly understood how you felt, it’s something you two bonded over

Once he figures it out that you’re not the best with your feelings then it will all make sense to him

How you can have the most gentle and sweet face but your words turn out to be cold and distant

He’d be good at reading you but every now and then you’ll have to communicate with him because he can’t read you all the time

Tsukki would be really good at acting as a buffer between you and his friends if you say something that comes off harsh 

He would back you up and make the situation more light after the atmosphere drops

Tsukishima would probably not be the best with helping you figure out your emotions but he is trying, very hard, to help you see whatever he sees

He is a very caring asshole and I love him

“(Y/N) come to the amusement park with us this weekend!” Hinata begs, too bright-eyed for your liking. You’re too tired after school to even hide the distaste on your face.

“Umm, no.” You bite the inside of his cheek and watch as he tilts his head in confusion, Yamaguchi’s face falls beside him. “I don’t want to go, maybe next time.” It’s not that you didn’t like them, but you just weren’t close enough with them yet. Truthfully you didn’t want to intrude on their hangouts, you felt as if you’d bring down their vibe.

“She’s not going dumbass, leave her alone.” Tsukishima stands tall behind you, glowering down at Hinata as he tries to shoo the small boy away with his eyes. Much to your relief, Yachi comes and leads the two boys back to the gym before they can say anything else.

“You didn’t want to go Kei?” You ask nervously, glancing back at your boyfriend to make sure he wasn’t upset.

“You couldn’t pay me to go.” He snides and you can’t help but laugh against his chest, fully turning around to face him.

“Next time we should go though, I just didn’t intrude ya know?” You tell him and Tsukishima narrows his eyes at you from behind his glasses.

“Clearly they wanted you to go with them and didn’t think of you as a nuisance, idiot.” He knocks the back of his hand against your head and you start up at him with a pout. “Whatever, who cares about them, we can just hang out ourselves.” Tsukishima promises and wraps his arms around your shoulders, bringing you close to his chest before resting his chin on the top of your head.

“Really?” You can’t help the breathy tone at the offer to hangout with your boyfriend, you’re still excited as ever to hangout with him even though it is something you always do.

“Obviously,” Tsukishima rolls his eyes but then squeezes you in his arms, hiding his face in your hair. “We can watch that shitty show you like, it just came out with another season.”

“Oh, Riverdale?!”

“Yeah, that one.”

He couldn’t take it anymore. It has been two hole fucking month since Yamaguchi finally admitted he had feelings for you. Since that day, Tsukishima was in constant pain from the literal slow burn romance happening. The pain and frustration of watching you two obviously pinning over each other was another form of torture.

Tsukishima tried hinting to Yamaguchi how maybe, just MAYBE you might reciprocate his feelings. However, his childhood friend’s insecurities ran strong regarding his love life. He told him how he couldn’t understand how someone like you could like someone like him. He felt unworthy of your affection, that he wasn’t enough.

From Tsukishima point of view, that was the most stupidest reason, valid, but still stupid. Not only Tsukishima saw this love story from Yamaguchi’s perspective, but also your’s. You have been friends with them since first year. You often hangout with them, went to cheer them on their game and helped out Yachi with manager tasks. Safe to say that you have been around them to develop feelings for the sweet Yamaguchi. Tsukishima always noticed how you offered your brightest smile to Yamaguchi, the natural happiness you two seemed to give each other mutually. If he could see it, how could any of you couldn’t?

Tsukishima only hoped that the lovingly stare when one isn’t looking, or the shyness the both of you acted when you got too close to each other or even better, the pause when one of you wants to finally confess and spill out your feelings only to give up at the last minute, will only stop.

It was after those two month that Tsukishima finally decided. If none of you would confess, he was going to take that burden.

To begin his plan, Tsukishima had to think of the way to force one of you, or both, to confess. He didn’t want to just get the two of you in a room and spill your secrets. No. He at least needed to think things thoroughly for both of your sakes. The problem was that he was far from a romantic. How was he going to set the both of you up?

His answer came the same day at practise. Yachi picked up on how something was troubling Tsukishima and approached him at the end. He told her his plan, well the goal that is. If someone could help him, Yachi was the perfect person to ask.

She immediately was on board, agreeing so quickly he was confident she felt as frustrating that you two weren’t yet together. They agreed to keep it a secret, certain that Kageyama or Hinata would spill the secret out.

The research then began. They searched different scenarios on how one of you could confess. Telling one of you bluntly didn’t work, they have tried. Multiple time. Yachi was good at this, making a list of every scenario that could work.

Forging letters to tell to meet on the roof. The both of you would probably confess if everything turned out well.

Having one of you gush about the other publicly, it wasn’t that hard, and the other would overhear by ‘accident’.

Locking the both of you in a room so you would confess. Less likely but let’s not give out all hope shall we?

Bringing jealousy into the mix.

And the list goes on.

With all of these prompts, it  was left to you and Yamaguchi to work this out.

The plan was going well at first. Yachi designed the cards, perfectly matching both of your handwritings; it was terrifying. The both of you got the letter before the last period. Tsukishima saw how nervous Yamaguchi was. He smirked and thought how he was going to be less nervous once you confess and Tsukishima will finally not witness the obvious pinning.

At the end of the class, Yamaguchi practically bolted out of his seat, Tsukishima trailing him not far behind. It was hard keeping up with him, lucky that Tsukishima knew where he was going, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to follow his friend.

At the rooftop, you were already there, the letter Yachi forged in your hands. Tsukishima hid next to Yachi, the both of them seeing the scene before them.

“I believe you have something to tell me Yams,” you starred hopefully at Yamaguchi, your mind wondering, hoping it was what you thought it was. Yamaguchi on the other hand seemed as if he would pass out any second. Tsukishima, Yachi and you held your breaths, waiting for Yamaguchi to speak. The latter was a blubbering mess, tripping over muttered words and his face turning a beautiful shade of red.

“I um.. I-I huh-HAVE A NEW GAME TO SHOW YOU,” his voice raised, loud enough to surprise you. Tsukishima and Yachi face palmed, waiting for your reaction.

“Oh, uh sure, but you could have told me at practise or during lunch,” you chuckled, giving Yamaguchi a smile to calm him down.

“I-I didn’t want Tsuki to know since I always play with him, but, uh, I think you would really enjoy it and uh I know we talked about it before. But if you can’t I totally understand! It’s a bit sudden and-”

“I would love it.” You interrupted him as soon as your brain processed the information. You were so happy, your smile only seemed to grow bigger. You set the date and left Yamaguchi alone, afraid that if you spent more time with him, he would change his mind. (also to calm your heartbeat but you would never admit that)

Seriously, Tsukishima was frustrated. Why couldn’t Yamaguchi just confess on the roof top? Now they had to wait to see if it worked.

Presently, Yamaguchi was rambling on about how he needs to purchase the game, hoping it wasn’t sold out and the fact that the two of you would be alone. For a whole afternoon. Yamaguchi was nervous about being alone with you. Could he even handle that? The two of you had spent some alone time before, but that was before his feelings for you got deeper and deeper. Also the fact that it was similar to a date just made Yamaguchi K.O.

Tsukishima rolled his eyes, but listened to his friend. He had to convince Yamaguchi to follow through with his plan. Just as Tsukishima was going to respond back, the both of them halted, hearing your voice nearby.

You were rambling about your feelings. You didn’t mention the name, but you talked about how he was sweet, gentle, caring, a contagious smile. He was the one you held feelings to. And to top it off, you were going to confess soon.

Tsukishima glanced at his friends, wondering if he caught on to who was your crush. Dread fell over Tsukishima as he saw that his friend got the COMPLETE opposite meaning of your words. Yamaguchi excused himself and left. Tsukishima was over it. All his efforts would never be successful. Why couldn’t the two of you be a couple already?

Yamaguchi proceeded to avoid you the next day. He couldn’t look you in your eyes when you wanted to confirm if your plans still stand. This affected you of course, only putting doubt in your mind that maybe, Yamaguchi didn’t like you back and you read everything wrong.

Tsukishima and Yachi were drowning in sorrow. Their plan was going so well. They needed to fix this mess one way or another. Maybe number 3 on the list was your only hope left.

At practise, when you were at the storage room, they tricked Yamaguchi into going in there while you were there. He was standing still at the entrance when the door slammed behind him. You two looked at the door, then into each other's eyes.

It was quiet for a moment, so many words wanted to be said, but none left either of your mouths. Yamaguchi tried opening the door but it seemed it was locked. The atmosphere was tense, neither of you speaking. You decided to break silence, spilling what was on your mind.

“Did I do something wrong?” Yamaguchi tensed at the words, feeling guilty with the way he treated you. His lack of communication was making you feel sad and neglected. That was the opposite of what he wanted to make you feel.

“No! You did nothing wrong, it’s me.” He still couldn’t look you in the eyes.

“Then tell me what’s been bothering you. If it’s because of the plans we ca-” “I LIKE YOU!”

His sudden words left you speechless. He was still not looking your way, his fists clenched tightly. He couldn’t back down now.

“I like you ok? Everytime we’re together I want it to last forever! You make me happy and when you encourage me to do anything, I feel confident and I want you to feel the same. But as much as you make my doubts disappear, the ones about you never does. I always wonder if you could consider me as more than a friend.  But I know that’s not the case so I’m trying to put some dist-”

“I LIKE YOU TOO!” You screamed, not wanting to continue his sentence. “I do too.” Those words were softer. They weren’t yelled, but held all the relief of and love you could whisper. Yamaguchi looked at you with a surprised look, hoping with all his might that it wasn’t a dream.

You both rushed towards each other’s arms. Yamaguchi held on tight and you did as well. The first embrace from one another was warm and comfortable. His face was buried in your neck, whispering how much he was happy and how lucky he was to be with you. You did the same, hugging as tight as you could, afraid his insecurities would keep him from you once again.

You stayed like this for a while until you heard the doors opened. Yachi was overjoyed and Tsukishima shed a secret tear, gratefull that he would no longer witness the torture of oblivious love.

Suga

- Due to his early hours as a teacher he wakes up earlier than you, though he always makes breakfast for the both of you so expect to wake up to a delicious smell every morning. In exchange you make his lunches.

- Sometimes on your days off he forgets his lunch at home, meaning you have to bring it to him at the school. The first 3 times were genuine, however after seeing you would join him for lunch on your days off he purposely forgets it when you don’t have work so you eat with him.

- His class loves you, when you drop his lunch off on days you can’t stay he tends to be more lenient on his students and give them a little less work, you also bring a bag of candy to help motivate them to work hard.

- Speaking about kids, sometimes late at night when you're both tired you’ll quietly talk about the future, be it a family or not.

- It’s routine that every Saturday night you go out to meet up with his old teammates and just hang out, talk and drink together. 

-  Whenever you feel down or start talking negatively, Suga will gently bonk you on the head before talking to you about how things are positive and help lift your mood.

Kageyama

- While he’s gotten a lot better at interacting with people in general he still can be awkward and fumble with his words. So he prefers to show his affection physically, quick kisses on the head or short hugs is his way of saying “I love you” when his words fail.

- You two have a certain emoji that he sends whenever he’s in a bad mood and needs space so you know. He doesn’t want to take out his frustration on you and snap as it would just be falling back into his old self from junior high.

- Once he’s in a better mood he’ll come to you, if you’re not busy he will pick you up and carry you to the bedroom. The next hour or so will be spent cuddling with him being the little spoon, he just wants to feel loved. 

- If you ask him to teach you how to play volleyball he’d try to keep calm but the smile that’s fighting it’s way onto his face and him literally shaking with excitement gives him away. How can he not be excited? His two favorite things are going to be combined; you and volleyball. 

- Like with Hinata, he’s competitive; though not as much with you. He won’t back down if you challenge him even in a teasing manner. 

- Kags will go out with you to get manicures, or just do it at home if you don’t want to leave the house. He will get them painted if you ask him too, give him a pout or puppy dog eyes to make sure he will.

Hinata

- He is a ball of energy almost all the time. He can hardly sit still, Hinata’s always bouncing one of his legs or tapping his fingers. Only is able to sit still if you're in his lap cause he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable.

- Tends to walk pretty fast without realizing it and has lost you in crowds before. Now he holds your hand when walking, however tends to drag you around if you don’t tell him to slow down.

- Has cocooned the two of you in a blanket while cuddling, and will do it again.

- Like with Kageyama, he’s competitive; though on a more playful scaled back way. Like splitting the grocery list and sees who can finish their list first and get to registers, loser buys the winners fav snack.

- Picked up some Portuguese from his time in Rio and when he’s feeling extra affectionate he calls you things like; “Meu amor” (my love) or “Meu mundo” (my world). Call him Meu sol (my sun) and he’ll blush a ton hugging you and mumble about how much he loves you.

- Despite his seemingly never ending energy, Sundays are your lazy days. A day in which the two of you don't get out of bed until noon, cook together, watching tv then in the evening going out for a walk in the park. It’s almost surprising how Hinata seems like a different person on these days with how calm and quiet he is.

Yamaguchi

- He’s far from the shy awkward boy he was in highschool, he will only blush a little when you hold hands jk. Yams is confident in his affection towards you and it takes something big to get him to a flustered mess.

- His favorite place to kiss you on (other than lips) is your nose.

- He’s a huge romantic, opening doors for you, candlelight dinner, star gazing, ect. To him you are his world and he wants to spoil you with his love.

- If someone’s bothering you he will step up, having learned a lot from when he was captain he won’t hesitate to tell the person to leave. If they still won’t leave then he’ll take a page from Tsukki and be a bit more harsh about it.

- Yams always sleeps best when he’s hugging you or at least has his arm over you, while a pillow can work if you aren’t together it’s not a peaceful sleep.

- Whenever he meets up with Tsukki and Yachi he’ll bring you up often, with the way he talks about you in that “obviously whipped” way his two friends tease him about popping the question soon.
