I honestly dont trust Ollie either. I do wonder if he’s tried to tell drew to not trust daddy or pops. Cause like poppy Ollie seems to not care of the bigger bodies die or live.

“Poppy ain’t perfect, but trust me when I tell you that she cares. But you’re right about one thing, I don’t trust Ollie worth a shit.”
(This is a joke, please do not take this seriously! I thought it was funny)

Our Life, but as Dark Fantasy
Okay, so, Our Life: Beginnings & Always by @gb-patch is probably the softest story I’ve ever fallen in love with. (And I will always scream from the rooftops that people should play it because I love it so much and it’s free to boot!) It’s slice of life and low stakes and the focus is entirely on the characters living life together and their relationships.
Despite this and enjoying working on my personal sorta novelization and adding in new scenes that fit the mood and add more excuses for fluff... suddenly a light banter scene from one of the parts of the game spiraled out of control into a plot thread of a dark angsty canon divergence with fantasy elements.
Like, I have no intention of writing a full blown story about it or anything. (Not like I’m doing for my preferred route through the game at least.) But, dang it, my passion for this game can’t be contained, and it’s running away with me. Plus, hey, why not grant Cove his deepest wish to finally meet a mermaid?
In other words, I took a fun and fluffy scene from the game and threw in an ominous note of foreshadowing to it at the end, which then blew up into its own post-game scene. Am I going to show it? What the heck, sure. Here’s the scene under a cut. Maybe someone else will enjoy it too.
Disclaimer - my version of Jamie might not match yours, and this is written in third person, so if you’d rather not read about that kind of fan content for Our Life, play the game instead. The writing will be rougher than what gets posted on @dragonandtiger, as this is first draft fooling around. Also, spoilers for Step 3.
...
Cove pretended to sigh as he hung his head. “Maybe it’s for the best.” He peeked through strands of his hair at Jamie as he tried his best to keep a straight face. “Let’s say a merperson did happen to wash up on shore one day…”
He let the suggestion hang in the air for a moment as he turned to Jamie, wearing a faux doleful expression that did nothing to hide the smile in his eyes. “I could’ve lost my girlfriend to their magical underwater world.”
Jamie failed to stifle a chuckle, which quirked the corners of Cove's mouth upwards in response. "Sure, I'd go with the merperson," she teased, "but only if you could come with us too."
Cove didn’t try to hide his grin this time, his eyes lighting up with delighted surprise at the unexpected answer. “You’re a nice person, Jamie,” he said sincerely before he got back into character. He arched an exaggerated eyebrow, doing his best to display serious skepticism. “But what if they didn’t want me? Would you seriously stay on land?”
Jamie placed her hands on her hips and gave him a pointed look. Despite the ridiculousness of the conversation, she wasn’t about to joke on this point. There was nothing in this world that would make her choose to leave Cove behind - not even for some hypothetical mysterious other world full of magic and adventure. Though she offered no words in response, she grabbed onto his arm and clung to it with excessive possessiveness.
Despite the hint of actual seriousness that had crept into the playful debate, Cove couldn’t help but nearly chuckle when Jamie latched onto him, her silent message coming across loud and clear. He couldn’t help but smile softly and think of just how cute his girlfriend could be when she was, as he liked to call it, stubbornly affectionate.
Still, despite the moment of fondness, he wasn’t about to let the joke drop just yet. “If a beautiful, kind merperson falls for somebody, I’m pretty positive the sensible response isn't to turn around and say, ‘No thanks, I’m gonna stay on land with a normal guy.’”
“I don’t want that,” Jamie huffed. She puffed out her cheeks in an exaggerated pout, and Cove couldn't stop himself from chuckling a bit at the sight. She broke character to smile triumphantly at that, before she suddenly straightened up, her eyes lighting up with a brilliant idea. “I should get to be the mercreature, and then I’d invite you to the underwater world.”
“What?!” Cove blurted out, caught completely off guard by the suggestion. He stared at Jamie with wide eyes, his mind immediately already picturing the possibilities of what she might look like as a mermaid. It wasn’t too hard to visualize considering she was already wearing a swimsuit, and the image turned his cheeks pink with heat.
“That's…,” he began, only to falter for a moment. “You… as a mermaid…” He had to take a moment to again picture it, his mouth hanging open just a little in wonder. “That’s… I mean…”
When the idea finally finished crystalizing in his head, Cove couldn’t help but feel thrilled by it. “Yeah,” he said with a brilliant smile. “It’s a good idea.”
Jamie smiled, pleased to have had such a profound effect on her boyfriend. She adjusted her hold so that she held his hand in both of hers. “I’m glad you think so,” she said before her voice grew tender. Her dark blue eyes glittered with adoration as she peered deeply into his eyes of bright aquamarine. “Would you come with me?”
“I…” Cove faltered, staring at Jamie with wide eyes as his pulse quickened. Her gaze was electric, turning into nervous energy inside him that couldn’t be contained. Although he hesitated to remove the hand she held so tenderly, he fumbled with his free hand for something to fidget with and found the sunscreen bottle he had dropped earlier. He flicked at the cap, snapping it on and off again in an erratic rhythm.
After a moment, Cove closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he tried to compose himself. “Of course I would,” he finally answered. He tried to keep sounding playful, but the words came out soft with his sincerity. When he opened his eyes again, he saw Jamie was beaming, her smile as brilliant as sunshine.
“Thanks, Cove,” she said as she laced their fingers together. “I’d be a happy merfolk.”
Cove returned the gesture, squeezing Jamie's hand as little giggles escaped him. While the whole conversation had been intended as a lark, he couldn't help but feel deliriously happy by the little fantasy they had crafted together.
Jamie leaned in closer to her boyfriend, pleased by how much of an impact her words had on Cove. She couldn't help but imagine the scenario like he was at that moment. It would be such a lovely story.
Or at least, it would have been if it only remained nothing more than a fantasy.
Jamie was swimming like her life depended on it. Limbs thrashing through the water, propelling her closer and closer to the shore. She fixated on nothing else but making it back to Sunset Bird and…
“Cove!”
Cove Holden was a wreck. It had been two weeks since Jamie had disappeared, and the police had nothing to offer him but empty promises that they were trying their best to find his girlfriend.
He tried to hold out hope and remain patient, but the longer Jamie was gone, the more he could feel himself breaking down. He had the support of those who cared for him, but it wasn’t enough to hold back the despair that grew just a little deeper each day that she remained missing.
Despite the fact that Cove and Jamie had moved out of their childhood homes not that long ago, he was now spending nearly every day at the Leimomi house like he did during his childhood. Only, instead of going there to visit Jamie, it was to help her moms get through this crisis - it was the closest he could come to feeling like he was actually doing something more than just waiting in agony.
Cove also took to wandering through the old neighborhood more. He knew it was irrational to expect to find Jamie in the places they hang out throughout their childhood, especially when he, her family, and the police already thoroughly checked the areas. Despite this, he found himself at the top of poppy hill.
It wasn’t long ago that Cove and Jamie were both running down the hill, laughing and playing together like children as they raced ahead towards their future. The moment had been so peaceful, so wonderful. He remembered wondering what he would feel when he thought back to that day.
He had his answer now - an overwhelmingly painful longing.
The poppies were gone, just like Jamie. The hill was just as green as it always was, even in late fall; the ocean was just as blue as it beckoned to him not far away. Yet, to Cove, poppy hill felt desolate.
Cove had intended to leave by sunset, but he had been lost inside his head until he noticed the moon hanging in the sky. Despite the obvious reminder that he needed to go home, that he had work in the morning, he found himself lingering still. A part of him dreaded returning to an empty apartment and a bed meant for two by himself.
Looking at the moon and the ocean reflecting it along with the stars above, Cove was reminded of the first time he met Jamie. The sight of the horizon was the same as back then, but the heartache he felt then was nothing compared to the hell he was going through now.
Cove didn’t bother fighting the tears that spilled from his eyes, as he wished desperately for a miracle. “Jamie…”
Only the sound of the waves answered Cove. He closed his eyes listening; he could almost swear he heard Jamie’s voice answer him from somewhere far away, calling his name.
Then his eyes snapped open wide as Cove realized he wasn’t just imagining it.
Cove was off like a shot, running for the oh so very faint sound of Jamie’s voice. He shouted her name, and he heard his in return as he raced down the hill towards the shore. Once he reached the sand, he scanned the empty beach for signs of life, for the barest glimpse of blue hair and even darker blue eyes.
Movement on the waves drew Cove’s eye back to the ocean. Someone was swimming towards the beach, stretching a pale hand towards the sky in a frantic wave for attention as they surfaced.
“Cove!”
Cove kicked his shoes off before reaching the water, diving in without hesitation. The choppy waves fought him, but he cut through each one with the experience of a lifetime of swimming in the ocean brought him.
“Jamie!” Cove shouted so that Jamie would know he was coming for her. In the dim light of the moon and starry sky, Jamie kept disappearing among the waves, the blue color of her long hair serving to blend in with the dark water.
But Jamie answered in a voice aching with relief, and he knew she had heard him. “Cove!”
When Jamie reached out her hand again, this time Cove was close enough to grab it. He seized her body close and for a moment there was nothing the two of them could do but hold each other, salt water and tears mingling together as their shuddering bodies pressed close while buffered by a turbulent sea.
It was a moment of relief so exquisite that it was almost painful.
Unfortunately, the moment couldn’t last long. The water was too rough to remain there, so Cove shifted his hold on Jamie, hooking her right arm around his shoulders and guided her weary body back to shore. It wasn’t until his feet touched back down on the sand that he realized Jamie wasn’t doing the same, instead heavily leaning against him like a dead weight.
“Cove,” Jamie whispered, her voice hoarse from yelling and heavy with exhaustion. She reached out to him with her left hand, and the sound of metal clinking accompanied it. To Cove’s horror, he saw a shackle on her wrist, still dangling links of a broken chain. “Sorry… I need you… to carry me…”
Cove turned to Jamie, panic rising as questions rushed to his lips, when he finally got his first good look at her. He froze, his mouth flagging open as his eyes went wide and round as the moon.
Jamie’s legs were gone - in their place was a large fishtail covered in shimmering blue scales.

okay what i want to hear is more about everyone’s families in gfs&s—like, who has siblings, who has parents and what are they like, etc? OR if you don’t care abt that, which is your favorite side character to write??
okay oh my god im gonna answer both 👾 so we all know that petunia is a thing that exists, but my focus when it comes to lily’s family is always her mum & dad. bill and poppy evans are so fucking adorable and hilarious to write together. it’s just so obvious that lily gets her chaotic energy from them and jsjejed they mean everything to me!!!
then there’s james, whose parents dote on him but also are fed up to their ears of him. it’s a remarkable contrast. they reluctantly like him, but they’d never admit it to his face. james is often lovingly referred to as a goblin, a pest, a dark fae child, etc. but seriously there’s a whole lot of affection and respect in the potter household and I cherish every scene w those goons
as for remus it’s just him and his da. john lupin loves his son more than anyone has ever loved another human being, but he’s still full of guilt over remus’s curse. he chainsmokes, he never boils his potatoes enough, but he does his best.
sirius’s family is just. a mystery I haven’t even solved yet. i haven’t quite reached the depths of all their complex relationships. cissy pretends to despise sirius but secretly admires him. regulus and andromeda outwardly have like no relationship, but they’re secretly the best of friends. sirius feels like he failed himself with regulus and as a result walks around with this hot ball of shame that burns whenever he sees the boy, but he would die for him without a second thought. and regulus. oh my god the love inside that boy is an ocean. you’d never guess. his love, his goodness, is the most secret and cherished part of himself. he can’t allow it to be tainted by his family or his schoolmates, so he keeps it tucked away. but he would do anything for sirius, absolutely anything. he would lay down his life, he would sacrifice his happiness and future,,,,hnrnrndndgggg fuck they’re so intense. THEM!!
also my fav side character to write is either my OC ana greengrass OR maybe severus lately because as much as I despise him, im trying to make him dimensional and his messed up brain is fun to work with. OR regulus hands down if you consider him a side character, but I don’t. no wait I love frank best. fuck. I don’t know they’re all great

2019 has already ended but here’s a list (+ my unasked for opinions) of all the books I’ve read in 2019 in chronological order, Part 2.
((Disclaimer: this is a shitpost for myself and highly overrun by my emotions — I shall not be held accountable if my opinion is taken seriously. And I know it’s 2020 already, but procrastination is prevalent.))
By the way, here’s part 1, if you’d like.
8. The Dragon Republic
Rin was an absolute mess the entire book and god knows how frustrated I got with the dumb decisions™ she made every step of the way. But the poor girl was going through some shit and she picked it all up at the end, so I’m ready for the third installment, and to finally, see the end of the poppy war. Also, THE THIRD BOOK HAS BEEN NAMED “THE BURNING GOD” and I stan. But generally, book 2 wasn’t very memorable to me, and I don’t remember it very well anymore so it was eh.
Characters: 3/5
Plot: 3.5/5
General feel things factor: 3.5/5
9. An Ember in the Ashes
God, I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED BY THIS BOOK. I almost hate it. I might actually. It’s definitely the book I dislike most of 2019. Ok listen, I’m pretty sure I dislike it because I hadn’t been in the right mindset to read it, and it just ended up not being the kind of book I was looking for in terms of plot and mood. Maybe it was intentional, but everything ended up being really dreary and boring and so underwhelming to me. I didn’t feel anything for the story nor for the characters (whose names I no longer remember). I mostly wanted to follow the first girl’s story rather than the other two characters (even though honestly, I didn’t care for what was happening to her either) so I ended up skimming half of the book and then forcing myself to finish the rest of it. Why didn’t I just DNF it? I don’t know too. I was probably going through some kinda mood.
Characters: 1/5
Plot: 1.5/5
General feel things factor: 1/5
10. To Kill a Kingdom
NOW. I’ve seen some reviews on this, and boy, were they mixed — but let’s ignore them, because here is my significant opinion: it was cute. I think tkak is just a simple, short fantasy-romance that got out a cute couple and was done with it. I loved Lira’s character, idk there was just something about her dryness (hah, even though she’s a siren-) that I really enjoyed. Although I have to say, the main guy character had been rather bland, and I don’t remember his name anymore. But anyway, I liked the first-meeting-girl-slaps-boy-scene. I liked the pirates. I liked the romance. I liked the straight-forwardness. I liked the happy ending. (And after AEITA, this was exactly what I needed.) So 10 points to Alexandra Christo.
Characters: 3.5/5
Plot: 3.5/5
General feel things factor: 3.5/5
11. An Enchantment of Ravens
SO. DAMN. ADORABLE. Some people hate enchantment, some people don’t. I personally absolutely loved it. I found Isobel and Rook so cute together, and everything was just really soft and fluffy. Like tkak, it’s just a short and sweet romance, but it leans more towards the fairytale vibes — and I was vibing. I found both the main characters so whimsical and dramatic and ridiculous and they were just so ENJOYABLE to read about. The plot was simple and to the point and it didn’t meander when it didn’t have to — so I don’t care what anyone has to say, an enchantment of ravens is probably one of my favorite reads in 2019 and I adore it. (And the line “Now stop making me feel things.” is just iconic to me. I mean, please, Rook.)
Characters: 4.5/5
Plot: 4/5
General feel things factor: 4.5/5
12. Graceling
Alright, so this is the book I ended on before I stopped reading, aka stopped ignoring the reality of my exams, to start studying for my exams. I found Po and Katsa cute together and I enjoyed their dynamics, but they got a little boring towards the end. I think their relationship got too mature and serious for me (or maybe exams looming over my head just made me really depressed) so they lost the childish charm about them that had drawn me in in the first place. But that doesn’t change the fact that Katsa is an absolute badass, that the entire scene in the courtyard where they fought is iconic, and that the truth behind Po’s sight at the end made me cry. Wasn’t my favourite, but graceling was enjoyable, which was exactly what I needed to feel satisfied to end on, and not too drawn into a world that I needed another one to replace it after it ended. Thank you Graceling, for saving whatever had been left of my grades.
Characters: 2.5/5
Plot: 3/5
General feel things factor: 3/5
13. The Cruel Prince (& The Wicked King & The Queen Of Nothing)
This is definitely my favourite book (and series) of 2019 and I was ruined by it. I actually had to reread the cruel prince, because the first time I did, I didn’t enjoy it and that didn’t sit right with me — I mean, come on, Holly Black is my queen and there’s no way I’d dislike a 4.2 star book of hers. And boy, was that one of the best decisions I’ve made in 2019. I was so immersed in Jude’s world and everything she was about to face; I rooted for her the whole way. I loved her character so, so much (for once, we get an mc that is actually smart). I loved Cardan so, so much. Honestly, I truly liked all of the characters. And Jurdan? I live for that sh*t. I was completely floored by this trilogy and I. Still. Want. More. (+ The quotes from this series??? Just freaking iconic.)
Characters: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
General feel things factor: 5/5
14. Sorcery of Thorns
Ah, yes, another one of the books I was disappointed by. After An Enchantment of Ravens, I had been so excited to read the second work of Margaret Rogerson, but it wasn’t what I thought it’d be. I really enjoyed it at first, but around the half way point I started to get bored and almost DNFed it. And yes, I am aware that Sorcery is meant to be an epic fantasy and is different from Enchantment, but I just thought that the characters would still have that whimsical, ridiculous flair that had been done so well in Enchantment — but the character building here kind of just fell flat for me. Although there were moments I did enjoy reading about Elisabeth and Nathaniel, I just didn’t really see the chemistry between them and I couldn’t appreciate their interactions and banter much. I felt like Silas was just a cookie-cutter “cold on the outside but warm on the inside” character as well. Okay, I’m being extra harsh on this book because of my crushing disappointment from great expectations, but actually, Sorcery had been a pretty good read that started off well. Although the middle got a little dry, i think it picked itself up again at the end and I felt compelled to finish it. Plus, Silas’ moment made me tear up even when I hadn’t expected myself to, so, that’s always a bonus.
Characters: 3/5
Plot: 3/5
General feel things factor: 3/5
15. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue
So whimsical. So funny. So light-hearted — yet it had the surprise punch-you-in-the-gut feels. I spent a good deal of time laughing over Henry’s antics (when he ran naked around Versailles???? Oh my god, what are you doing, Henry?) and his efforts at trying to be a decent human-being. It was honestly, a very heart-felt and romantic story, which really has me torn up because how does Mackenzi Lee weave in so many heavy, important themes like abuse, trauma, racial and sexual discrimination and mental illness, and still make it such a light-hearted story — that was done well? (And lets not forget how she’s also managed to include some serious Fullmetal Alchemist vibes in there complete with murders and violins and pirates. Geez.) She’s a genius that’s how. The number of times I’ve almost cried, but was saved by Henry’s comments is just- ugh. If there’s any book I’d recommend just for being a damn good book, it’d be this one because, wow, was it good.
Characters: 4.5/5
Plot: 4/5
General feel things factor: 4.5/5
16. Carry On
We have now reached my final book of 2019: it was an absolute delight and one of my favourites. I just loved the characters, like they were so enjoyable to read about. I mean, I felt like Simon had a stick up his ass for a good portion of the beginning, but he softened up later on and my god, Baz. I loved his character so much. And the pining? HELL YES. And then, of course, his refusal to admit that he was pining to anyone else but himself. Simon and Baz were just extremely shippable, and I was ready to gobble up whatever I could of their romance. So fluffy, so ridiculous. Rainbow Rowell also made good use of the switching POVs. I normally dislike it when author’s switch the perspectives because it tells a side of the story that I really don’t care for (ahem, an ember in the ashes...) but Rowell did it so damn well. Even Agatha’s pov was enjoyable. She provided a different perspective on things compared to the other characters and I actually really liked her “I don’t want to have anything to do with this bullshit” take on things. It was fresh, and funny, even if she was being an ass half the time. So, Carry On? It’s a yes from me.
Characters: 4/5
Plot: 3/5
General feel things factor: 4/5
And finally, my 3 DNFs, in which I will rant about them just a little:
1) Wicked Fox
Didn’t like the writing style. Normally I don’t notice writing styles much because I’m just not that good with the technicalities, but Wicked Fox’s bothered me and I just couldn’t enjoy it. Also, I wasn’t in the mood to be patient, so I just decided to drop it.
2) Serpent & Dove
I actually really liked the beginning, but I think I wasn’t in the right headspace and I started to get bored by it, so I stopped reading. I’ll probably pick it up again in the future when I’m in the mood for it though :)
3) Throne or Glass
My god. I picked this up purely as tribute for Feysand — which, I guiltily admit, I really enjoyed — but- I- I couldn’t get past the first five chapters of tog. Putting aside the writing style (Why! Are! There! So! Many! Exclamation! Marks!), I didn’t feel anything for any of the characters, and any of the scenes. I don’t know what it is, but everything just felt so disconnected from me, and I had an inkling that I wasn’t going to care about what happened to the mc, or what happened with her and the other two (who I presume are) love interests because even on first impression, and a little past that, both seemed so bland to me. Sigh.
That’s it for the list; if you’re still here, good on you.

Thoughts on Grey’s Anatomy: 15X7
This episode was an emotional one. The episode starts off with Webber having a rough start to his morning and the audience finding out that he’ll be providing the voice over for this episode. Maggie and Jackson are in bed together and she hilariously and clumsily breaks a wine glass! That made me laugh! Maggie’s style was on point in this episode. Her navy blue robe with multi-coloured poppies was gorgeous! I also loved her navy blue matching bra and panties set! Maggie’s pink off the shoulder top was also on fire! Cudos to the wardrobe department in this episode!
And then we find out that Jackson has been lying to Maggie and texting other women. One of those women, Kate, is texting Jackson back with ‘I miss yous’ and heart emojis! Dun dun duh! Maggie calls him out on it, rightly so, and has some hilarious one liners! Jackson tells Maggie that she never opens up to him and so he doesn’t feel he can open up to her. So he’s been opening up to Kate and April it turns out instead and not telling her about it. Maggie counters that she’s a great friend, sister, and aunt and that she’s not the spewing feelings type. Meredith and Maggie are not the feeling spewing type. That’s Amelia’s Dept. Jackson. Seriously get it together.
Also how is it Jackson’s bedroom is all windows and has no curtains? Only on TV. Maggie makes a great speech on how she never really learned to fight or to love and encourages Jackson to open up to her. To which Jackson admits that he’s mourning the loss of his and April’s marriage, Samuel, and what Harriet doesn’t get to have and that if April wasn’t happily married to Matthew he’d want to get back together with her. To his current girlfriend. Nice.
There’s nothing wrong with mourning these losses or needing to talk to April about it. There is however an issue with the fact that Jackson didn’t tell Maggie how that he was talking to April about this along the way and that he’s having an emotional affair with Kate. Which is Maggie’s entire point which is totally valid. At this point Maggie has had enough of Jackson’s BS and walks out. Maggie is no one’s sloppy seconds! Nor should she be.
And then I freaked out immediately because Why is Meredith in a tiny plane?!?! Her and Koracick wind up having to fly via tiny plane to a VIP consult at Catherine’s request. Koracick once again proves himself to be someone who’s more than meets the eye. I liked how Koracick changed the subject smoothly when he realized that Meredith was upset. It’s subtle and shows off some really great acting from Greg Germann.
Nurse Frankie once again proves herself to be both hilarious and stellar at her job. She’s really growing on me which obviously means that something bad is going to happen to her. I love her line, “You’ll always be my Chief.” Awwwww! The board reveals that Potential Baby Names Include: Ben (!), Minty, Adrien, Alex (!), Albus (!), Coco, Chicken, L’il Pancake, Charlie, and Richard! I love the inclusion of three character’s names and the Harry Potter reference! Iselda is later added to the list. Another one of my favourite lines was, “If you name it Alex it goes both ways!” True! I loved it when Ginger gave Richard the blue thank you cupcake!
At which point Frankie doubles over in pain and Richard rushes to her side and she has to be admitted! Ginger is my hero and I love Frankie’s village! It turns out the cause of her pain is a wandering spleen! Who knew that was a thing? The 41K baby explanation really got me. After the problem seems to have corrected itself Frankie goes into distress again and they are forced to take her into surgery.
There’s a lot of blood and Alex is forced to take the baby out early in order to try and save its life, which he does because Alex is awesome. Richard and Alex than try desperately to get Frankie’s bleeding under control. When we cut back to them the OR floor is soaked in blood. There’s no way she’s going to make it.
Webber can’t bear to call time of death so Alex steps in and calls it for him. Richard goes and tells the nurses who hug each other and cry for the loss of their friend. This pushes Webber to finally go to an AA meeting. There he finds out about this horrible bar that rewards people for breaking their sobriety and walks out to find the place. He calls out the owner and yells at him and then uses the baseball bat behind the counter to smash the bar bottles to pieces in righteous rage. So stellar acting her by James Pickens Jr. We find out that the baby made it okay and see Alex and the nurses taking care of them. Lil’ Pancake has a village! I wonder what they’ll actually name it?
I loved Meredith and Koracick joking about operating on Bono! Also you can see that Koracick has calmed Meredith down by distracting her. That’s a really nice thing for him to do considering that he doesn’t have to and is kind of an ass. We also learn that Meredith and Koracick are U2 fans! We also learn that Catherine calls Koracick Tommy and when she reveals the patient with the stubborn invasive tumour is her Koracick seems genuinely concerned, floored, and upset. He’s actually at a loss for words which is rare for him. After a biopsy Koracick and Catherine sing together and it’s adorable! They can also sing really well which helps.
Catherine brings them to a really amazing underground restaurant full of crystal chandeliers and candelabras that I really want to visit. They discuss the realities of what they are dealing with here. I love how Meredith stands up for Richard. And then coming in with that sass! Koracick reveals that he’s legitimately worried because Catherine does indeed have cancer, the bad kind, and he honestly doesn’t know how to fix it and Catherine is his friend who he loves dearly and really wants to help and see get better. Catherine overhears them and is upset. She tells them to get back to work. Poor Catherine.
We also see that Catherine has a leopard print phone case! It’s awesome and totally fits her character. Again, cudos to the wardrobe and props departments this week! We then cut to a scene of Maggie coming home to Mer’s house and see the kids and Meredith’s nanny in the background. Maggie texts Meredith and tells her that she and Jackson might be over and that she feels like the world is ending.
Meredith then gets a call from an Unknown Number. She thinks it’s Maggie, but it’s in fact Richard calling from the Police Station because he’s been arrested. He asks her not to tell Catherine as he doesn’t want to worry her. Meredith looks on as Catherine talks to people about the opening of the Medical Centre unaware of what Meredith has just learned. Catherine tried to call Richard earlier and tell him about her diagnosis, but it went to voicemail.
So by the end of the episode here’s where we stand. Catherine has a very stubborn, painful, and hard to treat form of cancer. Richard and Jackson don’t know yet. Only Meredith and Koracick do. Richard has been arrested. Catherine, Jackson, and Maggie don’t know yet. Only Meredith does. Jackson and Maggie have broken up. Catherine, Richard, and Amelia don’t know yet. Only Meredith does. Meredith is keeping a whole lot of secrets for a whole lot of people. And that’s not including Teddy’s secret.
Next is the mid-season finale! This episode brings a windstorm and the first major disaster we’ve seen this season! I’m surprised they haven’t done a snowstorm yet. Judging from the promo Bailey, Dahlia, and Helm are all over it and Levi is not. Meredith is wearing a pink scrub cap this time continuing her trend of wearing a different one each episode.
Meredith tells Maggie what appears to be bad news. I’m guessing Mer is telling Maggie about Richard (and possibly Catherine). There’s more Levi and Nico action it looks like. It looks like Teddy finally tells Owen as well (fingers crossed). Meredith and DeLuca are also shown in a sexy situation in which DeLuca is being all seductive in the tech room and Meredith is pulling away because while she’s attracted to him, he’s her student and she’s been down this road before. Ugh. I’m so NOT into it.
That’s all for now folks! Tune in next week when I review the mid-season finale! Au revoir!

Okay...
Finally sitting down to watch Zi-O ep 4...
Let’s game?
Well, no, actually no, we won’t, but I was trying to be thematic.
And in no particular order:
Okay, that explains it. When I saw the preview images it looked like they were talking to Emu, and then Geiz and Sougo both henshined and took a knee for some reason. It’s actually the other way round.
Geez, Emu. Since when were you this uncommunicative and unhelpful? That’s Taiga’s job!
Like seriously, you know these two are Kamen Riders. Just explain yourself to them instead of making weird vague statements.
Geiz at it again w/ the grump. Have I mentioned--you know where that’s going.
Tsukuyomi w/ the intercede again. I’m liking this trio.
Okay, I wanna know who Goggles is. The guy whose hand Geiz was holding in that future-flashback? A friend? Brother? This being Toei it’s unlikely to be a boyfriend, but it’s still possible. He looks like he mighta been a nice fellow, I’m sorry he died.
I guess this is a lot to take in, and Sougo is generally pretty slow on the uptake, it appears, so... But looks like he’s getting it now.
Tsukuyomi, I really hope you’re aware just how much of a problem child you just decided to adopt.
I actually agree w/ someone else I saw, I think. I kinda wish they would give her a better reason than ‘I don’t know’ for this. Like, I’m liking the idea that she doesn’t want her childhood friend to technically become a murderer by killing someone who is, at that point, still innocent, but this ‘I don’t know’ thing is kinda... meh to me. It doesn’t feel touching or sweet, and is even kinda out of character... But that’s just me. She’s super great, but she otherwise seems so decisive and confident that it’s a little odd.
OH MY GOD IT’S THAT CHURCH! I mean--it’s that wizard Bugster!
Fun fact, that Church is not just a Toei set. I have seen it in about FIVE other shows I think (don’t ask me to name them all, I can’t--but Kaname Jun was in one I think)
AH! Brave is here! But it’s back in 2016, episode... 2? Or maybe 3, but it would be when Hiiro literally just got there, so he’s still an ass. I mean, I still love him. But he was an ass.
Geiz, mister straight forward, just fucking informs them he’s from the future, I love him.
Maybe this has something to do w/ Hiiro’s sense that he should help them before... Aside from grumpy secondary solidarity, ofc.
‘From your perspective,’ Geiz, you are literally from 2068. I’m pretty sure, excepting folks from 2069 onward, that that’s the future from everyone’s perspective.
Also, to get this out of the way: AAAAAAH! SETO IS SO PRETTY! OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM SO MUCH EVEN WHEN HE’S A DICK! AND ESPECIALLY WHEN HE’S NOT!
Note: I don’t love him because he’s a dick, but what I love is grumpy, pretty much jerky characters who come out of that bc they start caring about someone or something (again, in Hiiro’s case). Did that make sense?
Also, I’m actually giggling bc of how much of a pompous ass my grumpy surgeon son was. The fact that this is literally like, right after he first showed up, means that he’s at peak dickishness and it’s really funny to look back.
Kids pulling on Geiz. God, honey, what were you expecting when you put that thing on? Well, at least they’re aware of how goofy it is.
On that note, ARE WE EVER GONNA SEE YOU WITHOUT IT?
Also, dear god, someone get this boy some fashion advice. I’ve SEEN that preview image sweetie. You canNOT dress yourself.
Oh my god, it’s the hospital helipad. Now I’m nostalgic.
Okay. Emu can teleport to game worlds now? Al... Alright then. You know what, whatever.
And Emu’s getting thrown around again. Some things never change. What’s still funny about this is still that Ijima Hiroki is (still) not a short man. He’s 5′ 10″. This, to me, makes how much Emu get’s thrown around utterly hilarious.
See, Emu. This is what happens when you don’t pull a Taiga, and discuss things w/ people. You’re the one who forced Hiiro to learn that, why are you doing it?
Aw, Sougo appreciates that Tsukuyomi is trying to save the future w/out killing him. Good kids.
Where’s that B99 ‘cool motive still murder’ picture? I mean, I know it’s a kid. But dude... You don’t have the right to other people’s lives (or body parts) just bc your son is dying.
Hm... I know people are thinking it’s named after Hiiro, but... What if it’s named after his dad? I mean, Kagami Haima was the director of the hospital, he had to start somewhere. To me that feels more logical? Bc it’s only been two years since Ex-Aid, that’s awfully fast to name a medical procedure... But it’s just a thought.
You know what, I bet Hiiro feels bad for brushing Geiz off in the past, so now he’s like ‘I must do everything I can to help these kids out bc when I met them before I was a jerk.’ Part of his ‘stop being an anti-social grump’ attempt. And he’s worried about Emu.
Does the Time Majin have an AI? How did it know to fly up to the roof right then? Is it telepathically connected to Sougo now?
So Uhr is helping Ora/Hora out? Maybe there is hope for a villain-family dynamic after all...
Also apparently that’s Takeru’s mech? Takeru has a mech? I really need to finish Ghost... But it’s either just for the sake of cameo, or it’s related to how Geiz got the Ghost Ride Watch. Now I’m wondering if he maybe stole the Drive and Ghost Watches from the Time Jackers? But if that’s the case, why did they have them? They usually use the Another Rider Watches...? Are Takeru and Shinnosuke okay? Oh my god, did Takeru die again? Actually, I guess Shinnoksuke also died a lot in that one movie so... Oh dear.
Is Sougo transforming in tiny spaces gonna be a thing now?
Come to think... Since the opening, we haven’t seen Woz. What’s prophet boy up to?
This tiny gremlin child who I adore and want to pinch the cheeks of just giggling to himself in his busted mech like a five year old.
Sorry, Geiz, you can’t beat the bounce.
Sougo just fucking slams this thing w/ the Time Majin.
And so, the path toward very reluctant and at first very awkward friendship begins. Let’s a-go kids!
But also god that boy is skinny. Honey, do you even HAVE hips? Are you okay?
Geiz is having feelings but is very confused right now. Punching things is generally a good venting method.
And the boys are still very bad at not being good at teamwork. Like, they’re already synchronising in pretty much every fight they’ve been in--not just in henshins but in attacks and so on.
Emu that looks NOTHING LIKE YOU, WHY would you call it a doppelgänger.
Since this is after Hiiro first showed up, it means that the two of them still don’t like each other (bc it took them a while to get there), so I’m not surprised that he wouldn’t call Hiiro immediately if something came up. Plus this may not show up bc CR relied on reports by witnesses and were in an abandoned warehouse. But then why is Emu...? Oh, I don’t know.
Was his henshin really always that deep?
Oh! There he is! Woz! I was wondering where you were! So, uh... Where were you?
Geiz: ‘Oh no, not again!’
Wow, he did the hoppity hop thing!
HE HAS GIANT BUMPS ON HIS ARMS! I LOVE THE GIANT BUMPERS ON HIS ARMS!
(I think they’re meant to be buttons?)
Aaaaand, right on cue, there Woz goes again.
Emu just like ‘okay then, let’s roll w/ this then, I guess!’
Wait, but the Brave and Snipe (and Genm, and then there’s Para-DX, and Poppy, and Cronus... Though I guess those last ones may not end up existing since they’re post-this?) Watches don’t seem to be in-show, so... Does that mean that Hiiro and Taiga keep their powers? Bc there was a Crozz-Z Ride Watch, so I now understand Ryuuga losing his, but there were so many Riders in Ex-Aid... Though maybe there’s a whole butterfly thing that simply by removing the primary everything is effected. Bc if you had to account for each individual Rider... Imagine how complex and difficult shows like Ryuki and Gaim would be to explain/sort through.
Hiroki has such a nice smile. Actually, pretty much everyone is Ex-Aid had a nice smile when they smiled.
Oh, god, yes. I really hope that the Rider trying to teach Sougo how to do the finisher in some way (miming for Emu, explaining for Sento) is a thing every time... Though I guess since they couldn’t get Gentaro we won’t get to see him do it... But maybe Takumi will? (I’ve never actually watched Faiz, so I have no idea what the finisher looks like)
Oh, hey. When Sougo hits him it says it in... Kanji, I think? But in Japanese characters of some kind instead of English.
ATTACK OF THE SUBTITLES!
Geiz standing of to the side trying to act cool while these two dorks help this man up.
... He’s wearing socks and... You know what, this is Japan. They’re probably his shoes for inside, and because he was running out to the ambulance with his dying son, he didn’t bother to change.
I love how Emu is like ‘who could we possibly... OH! That asshole!’ (again bc this is the very early season, back hen we didn’t like each other)
HE SAID IT! I guess they cut away so Seto didn’t actually have to eat the cake. Apparent he doesn’t actually like sweets? Maybe bc he’s such a sweetie. ^^
I really love it when the ones playing the ‘serious grumps’ are really adorably dorky and super nice. Like apparently, Seto was the funny and fun one, which I find so cute and hilarious.
Sougo here, getting into the groove of things during his second rodeo.
Emu’s like ‘are you two together?’ and Geiz is like ‘someone shoot me.’
Awwww. Of course Hiiro saved him. Though they haven’t shown us anything yet... So, maybe, even in the altered timeline, he and Emu still ends dup becoming close somehow? Can I pretend that’s the case? Seriously, Hiiro needs that kid. Otherwise he’s just gonna continue forgetting how to be human.
Why do you need another plate? But I think it’s cute how Junichiro is making so much food. I wonder if it’ll be like Mario in Zyuohger, where when he find out (if he doesn’t already know) he decides to just make life at the shop as homey as possible.
Geiz, maybe you should start using his name? Just to, you know, keep Uncle from getting suspicious?
ALSO WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING WHY... I just can’t anymore. I love my dorky fashion disaster assassin son.
Here we are w/ the intense staring again. Wouldn’t be KR w/out it.
Geiz and Tsukuyomi be like ‘wow no pressure.’ Seriously, Geiz looks like he’s having a small panic attack back there.
He looks very pretty, though.
Aw, they’re keeping their Ride Watches together!
Well, there’s clearly a friendship theme, so I’m hoping there’s a level of deepening the bonds that just started forming in this episode. Unfortunately, I know nothing about Faiz other than apparently Kaixa is a horrible person (given that the preview images imply he’s strangling some poor girl, I am inclined to agree), so I can’t make any guesses there.
All I ask for Christmas is ONE episode where Geiz doesn’t wear that damn collar thing. I know it’s only been four eps but just ONE.
And, in final news, looks like they’re switching the Watches around.
Okay! Well, that's that for now. Now, my head hurts and I still want pizza, so... Not much else to say. Imaginary pizza for anyone who read all of this, you really didn’t need to do that.
I’m gonna pretend Hiiro and Emu are still friends somehow. Having a good time here, looks like we’re looking at another solid trio and I love it. Also, w/ OOO and Ghost apparently coming up... Good times.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle review SPOILERS
Okay, I’ve gotta do it. Let me start by saying that I really did enjoy the film quite a bit. Generally, it was very good, and I’d go see it again in a heartbeat.
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
I’m gonna start with getting what I disliked out of the way.
1. Roxy’s death - I absolutely adored Roxy. She’s my daughter. I absolutely despised that she got killed, and so close to the beginning of the movie, and right after Eggsy calls her his best friend. I just wish they could’ve kept her around the whole movie. Also I hate that Merlin died, but more on that later.
2. Poppy - don’t get me wrong, I thought she was a pretty good villain, but very underdeveloped. She had a lot of good things about her as a villain that just weren’t really explored. I just think they could’ve gone a little deeper with her character.
3. Agent Whiskey - I loved him! I didn’t like his backstory being revealed so late in the movie. I’m totally fine with him being a “traitor”, but the way they did it felt a little clunky.
4. Underuse of characters - a lot of the Statesman just weren’t really there. I had expected Agent Tequila to be in it waaaay more than he actually was, along with Agent Champagne. I just think they were some great characters who could have been put to more use.
5. That one unnecessary shot - if you’ve seen the movie, you probably know which shot I’m talking about. Seriously, the audience doesn’t need to see all that to know the deed is being done. It was just unnecessary.
And finally. 6. Princess Tilde/her relationship with Eggsy - I can’t stand her. I couldn’t in the first movie, and I couldn’t in this one even more. I think there are a couple possible reasons for this. To start, I think Holstrom’s (is that her name?) acting leaves a little something to be desired. She just didn’t do it for me. She also has a startling lack of character development. Like, I can see that she genuinely cares about Eggsy, and he in return for her, but Tilde doesn’t have any development as a character, and their relationship seems too fast to me. Like I know they’ve been together for a year at the start of the movie, but the audience only sees them going from what was probably expected to be a one night stand, to being “totally in love”. The audience doesn’t get to see the development, and that at least turns me off a lot from their relationship as a whole. Also, them getting married at the end makes no sense whatsoever. Don’t even get me started on how Tilde was basically guilt tripping Eggsy into marrying her. But aside from that, it’s just not logical. As Eggsy said, how is he supposed to a spy, and a prince? Princes are in the public eye basically 24/7, and marrying Tilde makes him a prince. Even more than that, Tilde doesn’t appear to have any siblings, which would mean that Eggsy would become king one day. How tf is he supposed to be both a Kingsman and the king of freaking Sweden? Just think about it. It makes no sense at all. Finally, and this point is pretty superficial tbh, but Tilde just looks way too old for Eggsy. I mean she looks like 35 at least, and Eggsy is supposed to be like 25 tops. I just don’t see it personally.
Onto the things I loved!!!!!
1. Cinematography - Fantastic!!!! Amazing!!!! I loved it!!!! Personally I think the cinematography was just as good as it was in The Secret Service.
2. Fight scenes - This goes hand in hand with the cinematography, but I wanted to give it its own special mention. I loved the fight scenes. The fantastic camera work of following the movement of the characters is spectacular. The car chase was awesome (more on that) and I loved the fight scene in the bar, especially the beginning being the same as in the first movie, and Harry completely missing the mark with the glass. There wasn’t a single fight scene I didn’t love.
3. Opening car chase - I just loved it. To open the movie basically with this great fight in the car and the guys in other cars trying to kill Eggsy was fantastic. The whole scene was great, including the very end where Eggsy complains about having to drive the car under water and jump into the sewage. I just felt it was a really great scene, and a great way to start the movie.
4. The Statesman - Despite their lack of screen time, I did love them. They’re great characters and I hope to see more of them in Kingsman 3.
5. Take Me Home Country Roads/music in general - That song is deeply emotional to me personally. My dad used to sing it to me as a lullaby, so now I kind of get emotional every time I hear it. I absolutely adored it whenever it came up, whether it be in the score - and a fantastic score it is - or when Merlin sings it. The rest of the soundtrack, while not quite as good as the first movie, was still pretty well done, and enjoyable.
6. Merlin’s death - First, let me remind you that I hate that he died. That really wasn’t necessary, and easily could’ve been avoided. With how much they talked about turning the mines off throughout the movie, I was really surprised that they didn’t try to find a way to turn it off to save Merlin. That being said, I love the way they did the scene. Merlin sacrificing himself to save Eggsy, and Harry too, just really showed the depth of their relationship. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially with Merlin singing a song that already makes me emotional, but it truly was a beautiful scene, and Mark Strong is such an incredible actor.
7. Casting - Aside from Tilde, I think the casting is marvelously done. Nearly everyone performed incredibly well, with some stand out performances from Mark Strong, Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, and Pedro Pascal.
8. Charlie - I know a lot of people didn’t like him being back, but tbh, I loved it. Idk why, but I’m a total sucker for that kind of thing, the whole school rivalry turned legit enemies thing. I just love it. Idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ even though him surviving getting his arm blown off is a bit unrealistic, I’m very glad they did it.
9. Taron Egerton - Need I say more?
Seriously, I could be here for a long time talking about everything I loved about the movie, so I’ll leave it at that. Despite its flaws, it’s still a great movie. And even with its flaws, the only one that actually brought me out of the movie at all was Tilde in general. I just don’t like her and I hate her relationship with Eggsy, but I’ve talked about that enough already. Anyway, it’s still a great movie, and I would still recommend it.
