Omhouse

Omhouse is an art rock group from Toronto led by Steven Foster. It started as Foster’s solo recording project and expanded to a full band with Evan Cartwright, Sam Gleason and Ben Harney. To my ears, they kind of blend the power pop melodicism of the Shins, with a touch of the art rock dissonance, twists and turns found in a band like Dirty Projectors.

“Gutterbird” was the first song I ever heard from them back in 2013 and I’ve been waiting for them to put out a proper full-length ever since. Earlier this year they finally released the single “Nursery” ahead of that upcoming album. Take a listen to those songs and the title track from their 2014 Mooneye single.

Omhouse "All The Way" Live Performance

All the Way is an attempt to reach another soul through three portals: Reality, imagination and death. It is set in three locations: a northern wilderness, the mind, and a coffin disintegrating in its grave.

Toronto's OMHOUSE oscillates between intense, cathartic, riff-driven rock and adventurous electronic music. Their upcoming debut album Flesh to Flesh, Skull to Skull explores themes of guilt and masochism. Omhouse includes guitarist/singer/producer Steven Foster, drummer Evan Cartwright and bassist Ben Harney. In this performance they are joined by guest guitarist Carmen Elle.

"All the Way", c'est la tentative de se toucher une âme autre par trois biais différents : la réalité, l'imagination et la mort.

Le décor est triple : des étendues sauvages septentrionnales, l'esprit et un cercueil qui se désintègre dans sa tombe.

La musique des torontois de OMHOUSE passe successivement d'intense à cathartique, et de riffs à saveur rock à des élans électro audacieux. Leur premier album à paraître, "Flesh to Flesh, Skull to Skull" explore les thèmes de la culpabilité et du masochisme. 

Omhouse réunit le guitariste/chanteur/producteur Steven Foster, le batteur Evan Cartwright et le bassiste Ben Harney. La guitariste Carmen Elle les accompagne sur scène pour l'occasion.
