This moment is incredible, obviously. I’d go as far as to call it poetic. So I wanna talk about it for a second.

Just when Bonney’s faith was beginning to falter, when she had given up on life and was ready to die because the alternative seemed too bleak, she wasn’t just given proof of the God she spent so long idolizing, she was saved by him.

Nika always symbolized freedom, laughter, and joy to her because those were the ideals her father passed on. Now she’s learning that her and Kuma’s faith wasn’t pointless. Nika is here and he’s bringing freedom with him, right when she needed it most.

But can we consider how heartbreaking it is that Kuma, the one who carried Nika’s will like no other, who spent an entire lifetime (from slave to priest to king to revolutionary to pirate) worshiping him, is at long last face-to-face with his God… and it’s hollow. The chance came too late. Kuma is dead.

For as much as he sang and danced to the drums of liberation, he missed the chance to hear them.

AND THEN FINALLY!!!!! Bonney learns of Luffy's connection with Nika. AND IT'S SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!! The drums, the jump into the air, the dancing. Vegapunk also having made that connection and Kuma also being mentioned here. Tears, cinema. I'll never move on from that moment.
