Thinking about when talking about Shang Quinghua and the original Shang Quinghua I've usually seen that the original is portrayed as the evil twin or the dumber twin.
In the case of the second, I've read theories(?) I guess that say that Airplane was a better Peak Lord (in part because in his past life he had access to higher education) and a better spy because he had inside knowledge as the author.
This one I can get behind, Airplane having an advantage by knowing the plot would make him seem to be more capable to outsiders.
In the case of the first one I actually like to think that if they were twins Airplane would be the "evil one".
While I totally think that the reason Airplane is so comfortable doing all the shit he did is because he doesn't think of anyone (besides maybe MBJ and SY) as real people, from an outsider perspective it doesn't look like that. And while I know that the argument could be said that this would make the original SQH more devious/evil/whatever, as he would be operating with the belief that his world is real, I think that this depends on whatever original SQH was a good spy and how many and what type of atrocities he committed. Because we don't really know.
So, let's say that Airplane was a better servant/spy to MBJ in part because of his insider knowledge and past life. But that the other part is that he lacks the "morals" that would have held back the original because he doesn't see as anyone as real people.
Maybe the original had some morals. Maybe the reason MBJ fell in love with Airplane is that he was attracted not only to his loyalty but by how ruthless he is (something that for demons I bet would be attractive). From MBJ'S perspective, Airplane is, yes weak and cowardly, but also completely loyal and devoted to MBJ while at the same time kind of ruthless to anyone else.
In the case of the original SQH maybe he was not as willing to betray his sect. Like, maybe he was ambitious enough that he thought he could eventually make it so there was a treaty between CQM and the North and from his perspective he wasn't really betraying his sect. Getting rid of HHP was whatever since it was another sect and he could get behind that as long as CQM remained safe. Maybe he thought he and MBJ had an understanding of working together.
Except of course that they didn't and MBJ always planned on killing him.
Like, say MBJ knew about what was SQH'S ambitious and he was either thinking SQH would eventually betray him or that he didn't believe SQH would be capable of convincing his sect of an alliance and was just playing around while taking advantage of SQH. Either way a win for MBJ.
Then of course LBH happens and MBJ no longer has time for games, LBH wants CQM obliterated so CQM has to go and with it gone he no longer has reason to keep playing games with SQH so he kills him.
To make it more sad I like to imagine that original SQH was also fond of MBJ (maybe even in love with him) and that he did not see this happening at all.

Scumplane Pacific Rim AU pt 2
A/N: I still have no idea what I’m doing. [Pt 1] The week after Shen Qingqiu piloted was always the least pleasant in Shang Qinghua’s opinion. After being released from Medical, Shen Qingqiu would stalk the halls on a mission terrifying any of the newer personnel who hadn’t yet learned to scatter. Inevitably, this mission would end with Shen Qingqiu filling the doorway to Shang Qinghua’s domain and the crash and clang of tools as any An Ding member who could make themselves scarce did. And how did he do that, really? His shixiong was tall, yes, but Airplane could swear he was nowhere near tall enough to loom like that. Maybe Shang Qinghua should ask him on a less volatile day to teach him the trick of it, having a skill like that would be invaluable in wranging his subordinates or dealing with the staff of the Northern Desert- Well, on second thought maybe not, the less volatile days were becoming harder and harder to come by and it wasn’t exactly like they were friendly enough that Shang Qinghua could ask him for a favor. The clang of metal on metal broke his stream of thought. “Fix. It.” ‘It’ being the helmet of Shen Qingqiu’s flight suit. Airplane tried to keep up, he did! But, there were only so many hours and budgetary allocations he could make for their stubborn solo pilot when those resources could be put toward the dome’s active pilot pairs. Not that he could say that to Shen Qingqiu though, he liked his head where it was! “Er, Shixiong, what’s the issue now? Weren’t you just in last month for calibrations? There shouldn’t be enough flight hours to need it yet,” Shang Qinghua chuckled nervously. His most fearsome shixiong’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “There is a delay between impulse and Jaeger response. Surely Shidi knows that delays, even by a microsecond, could lead to disastrous outcomes? Perhaps Shidi has been too busy focusing on the latest models to continue the research we had agreed upon?” The deceptively soft tone was a trap and Shang Qinghua had heard the sarcastic menace underlain often enough to know there was no getting out of the incoming onslaught. Instead, he strapped in to weather Hurricane Jiu’s sweep through the lab. The howling winds of “outdated gear” and “AI dummy development” spun past as they did every time Shen Qingqiu came to have this “talk”. Eventually the load-goaded fury passed, signaled by Shen Qingqiu bracing his weight against one of the long work benches to catch his breath. He’d barely been released a few hours ago and had had to argue Mu Qingfan into submission for it. He was on borrowed time before he collapsed and he knew it. Shang Qinghua was becoming more intimately familiar with this look too and was unsurprised when Shen Qingqiu halted mid-rant to rise to his full height, tug his still immaculate suit into place, and beat a dignified retreat back to the safety of his quarters where he could allow himself the full scope of his recovery away from prying eyes. Despite the claws, it was painful watching a person of Airplane’s own creation tear himself apart like this. Shang Qinghua made a note to speak with Mu Qingfan on how bad things had gotten and hooked up the helmet Shen Qingqiu had left to the dummy rig to run some troubleshooting. All in all, there wasn’t much Shang Qinghua could do; AI tech was still years behind where it needed to be in order to be viable as a simulated bridge. So, he did what he could. He kept Shen Qingqiu’s gear as up to date as possible with the minuscule budget allotted. It was smaller than it should be for a pilot and nowhere close to covering the actual upkeep costs, let alone any improvements. Yue Qingyuan had been making more of an effort lately to keep Shen Qingqiu grounded and the slashes to the already bare minimum budget had been part of that. It was the latest attempt to temper their volatile pilot. Each time Shen Qingqiu suited up, it became more and more likely he’d be returning to the dome in a body bag leaving them short both a brilliant strategist and their ace in the hole. Shen Qingqiu had defied the odds the first time he’d piloted the Xiu Ya Sword and he kept defying them. Dozens of fights and he just. Kept. Going. But was wearing on Shen Qingqiu and they all knew it. Each time he returned to the dome, he spent longer in medical and took longer and  longer to return to an acceptable baseline. It was an open secret that Mu Qingfan had been moving the goal posts to make it easier for Shen Qingqiu to return to active duty but even with that, there was only so much wiggle room. Shang Qinghua wondered if any of them actually remembered at this point how Shen Qingqiu had been when he’d first joined the dome. His temper and personality were bad, sure, but nothing like what they’ve become. Scathing remarks were normal, flying into an incandescent rage at perceived provocations was not. The signs of a final burn out were lit in neon and they were all just standing by to watch their cold star burn. Shang Qinghua had been helping where he could but he knew it wasn't enough to keep Shen Qingqiu alive in the long run. Shen Jiu may have been the scum villain of the original novel but here - he wasn't that here, not yet. Instead he'd been instrumental to the survival of citizens and dome personnel against the kaiju threat. Shang Qinghua could never say it to his face and survive the encounter but Shen Jiu was a hero both in and out of his Jaeger even if his personality was…not the best. If Airplane could just limp him along until the protagonist showed up, Shen Qingqiu would finally be pulled from piloting completely so those resources could be spent on new pilot pairs. Theoretically, Luo Binghe would be in the upcoming batch of hopefuls. If this world was following the same time line, then the next recruiting drive would be a few short months from now. While not particularly religious, Airplane was tempted to pray to the gods to help him out with keeping his shixiong alive but, as the god of this world (unproven but arguable) it wouldn't make much sense to pray to himself now would it?

cumplane poly au where they love their husbands. they love their husbands so much. luo binghe is shen qingqui's whole world and shang qinghua literally built his own ideal man.
but fuck, isn’t that the problem? sometimes, mobei jun isn’t REAL. he’s literally a figment of shang qinghua's imagination. this whole place is. and he’s been trapped in his own imagination so long he’s forgotten the world he came from. he can’t even remember his own birth name. but he remembers cucumber-bro. he remembers those abrasive comments, he remembers how those full takedowns of every thing he wrote made him feel. he remembers it better than he remembers his original parents faces.
it’s not— it’s not inherently romantic. for either of them. it’s a NEED. for shen qingqiu, there is exactly one person in the whole world who truly understands that longing for a world he doesn’t even want to go back to, not really. for shang quinghua, there’s only one person who gets him. the him from before. this beautiful, poised man with his fan language and obedient doting husband is also the only person who gets his love of memes and horrible porn and preservative-laden food.
they don’t do anything about it, because how could they? they’re loyal to their husbands, they love their husbands. but the thing is… proud immortal demon way was a harem novel once. and shang qinghua had written luo binghe and mobei jun with more emotional intelligence than was common for this world (mainly for his own sanity.) so… they don’t have to say anything. their husbands come to them.
and luo binghe is crying, and mobei jun is stone-still with clenched fists and a clenched jaw. but binghe BEGS his shizun to do what will make him happy. that seeing his shizun upset and hurting and longing is way worse than any jealousy could be. and mobei jun says nothing but when shang quinghua looks at him, he just nods in agreement.
so it’s not often. they don’t need it often. but now and then, when shen qingqiu is disassociating like a motherfucker luo binghe calls on his airplane bro to bring him back down to earth. or when shang qinghua is on his third day of no sleep, plagued by fears that none of this is even real, mobei jun teleports him directly to his cucumber-bro's bed for cuddles and kisses and horrible millennial memes whispered into his ear until hes laughing away his anxiety and - eventually - falling asleep.
mobei jun and lou binghe don’t understand it. but they are happy their husbands are happy. and that’s what matters.

Sooo, ive heard about some role reversal aus and reverse aus about svss and i actually like the concept? One i found very interesting is the one created by @radiantaro , which is actually so thought out and just, muah, i like it a lot,
Its interesting to explore, if luo binghe and mobei jun were the transmigrators and had to survive in the world of the twelve demon peak lords, so yeaa, jus, luo binghe as future cultivator/lord and shang quinghua as a fire demon, bcs the contrast between originak ice and reversed fire is too good to ignore, (plus the design for shang quinghua is to die for)
I love the original designs for this au, but i added some of my own stuff and havent rly put much thought into the clothes (i dont like to draw them, but the original design by radiantaro for them are so good!!), cuz i dont like to just copy stuff and originally this wasnt supposed to find the light of the internet, but i am pretty proud of these pics so i decided to share them..
(Ps: luo binghe w the fan is jus having a little bit of fun w shen yuan (mocking him as per systems demands) )

shang quinghua telling luo binghe to “act pathetic” in the extras, over mobei jun’s advice, when he asks for advice makes me want to know what luo binghe’s original plan would’ve been if he didn’t get any advice, like,, what was going on in that head of his

I've seen takes about Shang Quinghua pressing the Return Home button (either on purpose or by accident) and I've also read takes where the System for some reason (a glitch or a new mission) sends both SY and SQH to the modern world. And they are great BUT.....
What if SQH pressed the Return Home option (I'm thinking on purpose, but you do you) and the System sent both back home.
Let's say that the System didn't give SY that option because he isn't user number 1 and it was up to user number 1 to make this choice. Only, because the System is such an asshole it conveniently disregarded to tell either SY or SQH this.
So SQH not knowing his choice would also affect SY (otherwise he would definitely use this to get SQQ to do as he says, like getting LBH to give him the best food 😂) decides that he will take his chances on the real world. I'm thinking that he does this in part because the System actually answered when he would wake up and told him that in the real world no time has happened or that he would go back before he spilled his ramen and electrocuted himself. The other part could be that he just panicked upon seeing LGY. Or maybe he never saw LGY and was able to explore and sightsee some of the wonders of the world he wrote about and decided that this was as good as it would get here, whereas now that he lived in a cultivation setting he had so much fucking material. He could even write the danmei version of PIDW thanks to Cucumber bro!
So he activates the return home function and proceeds to write SVSSS, only he changes the name of Peerless Cucumber to another dick joke to avoid getting sued, you know, just in case.
For his part SQQ/SY hears the System saying "Activating Return Home sequence in 3, 2, 1" and he proceeds to freak out, except of course he doesn't have time to properly freak out and/or say anything before everything goes black.
SY wakes up in the hospital, his sister found him passed out and proceed to call 110/120*. Because this is SY and he no longer can hear the System he proceeds to go in denial/repression. "Ah... It was all a dream of course" (and to be fair, this would be more of a normal reaction than how he immediately accepted he had transmigrated 😂).
Until some weeks/months/days!? (Knowing Airplane it was probably days) later, Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky starts publishing an spin off/AU of PIDW named SVSSS.
Meanwhile back on SVSSS world either (and because I love SJ and he deserves a happy ending and because YQY also deserves a happy ending and I want these two to reconcile 😭 and what are fanfics for if not to write happy endings for everyone!?!):
SQQ'S body goes into a Qi deviation and SJ wakes up (resuscitates? I'm thinking the System grabbed his soul while he was deviating and put it into storage so SY's soul could occupy the body). Obviously SJ proceeds to FREAK OUT and runs away to CQM sect.
SQQ'S body just stops working. One moment he is breathing and the next he is dead. Somewhere out there SJ wakes up in a plant body (at some point SQH tried to bring back his favorite scum villain and gifted YQY a mushroom plant body with some precise instructions to care for it without telling YQY exactly what the plant was, because he believed if someone could bring back SJ it would be his soulmate YQY, but in case he was wrong better not tell YQY why or what the plant he gifted him was for)
SQQ'S body basically becomes brain dead. Technically alive, but since there is no soul inside the body it is as good as dead (SJ comes back with a healthy plant body and reconciles with YQY in CQM)
In any of these scenarios LBH will freak out, obviously, but in the case of scenario 1 he would have no reason but to think that this like the first time SQQ lost his memories, only now he recuperated many of them and lost the ones that involve LBH. So I guess the best option for a BingYuan reunion would be to go for 2 or 3 because LBH would be looking for SQQ|SY soul not SQQ|SJ (who is alive and safe in CQM sect) but I don't really care for this pairing soooo 🤷🏻‍♀️
Upon crawling out of the earth, SJ encounters YQY who immediately knows that this is Xiao Jiu, he would have the confirmation of what he already knew, that the other SQQ was not SJ. He still has no explanation to what happened or how SQH was able to return SJ to him, but he is glad and thankful to SQH.
SQH who has disappeared. Literally, his body did a Thanos snap and became dust or simply glitched out. Because SQH was never from this world. He was born in this world and given the role of SQH but his body is technically not the one of the original but supplanted it. Similar to a changeling only it was the System and he did this from the womb.
I don't know how it would go from here, kind of a dealers choice, if you want Moshang and BingYuan(?) HEA or if CumPlane HEA in the modern world. Or happy ending for Airplane who now can dedicate time to write whatever he wants because he already has SVSSS written thanks to the System and while that sells he can concentrate in writing other things.
