Tea At The Cabin & The Exploring Gaiwan

This isn’t gonna be a post with any kind of review or information. Instead here you will find (if you care) some photos I took this past weekend while staying at a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Got to spend almost the whole day alone, cut off from the outside world which was very well needed. I had a few outdoor tea sessions and found my little gaiwan traveling through the woods surrounding the cabin.

6 elements of a good tea session that will help you to brew awesome tea: ⠀ 1) The right mood – It is a pretty important part of a tea session and it can have a big impact on the overall process. Try to be as relaxed as possible before beginning a tea session. This will make way for good conversation and an immersive tea state which will help to enjoy the taste of the tea. ⠀ 2) Tea. Select a tea that fits the moment. What do you want right now? If you want to relax and enjoy the silence - go for an Oolong, if you want to chat - go for a Hong Cha (Black tea), if you want to dive deep into your thoughts – try a good Sheng. ⠀ 3) Water – it is the mother of tea. Selecting the right type of water can be crucial as it influences the flavour of tea and how it opens up during the session. The best way to do this is trial and error. Try brewing tea using different kinds of water and with time you will figure out what works best. ⠀ 4) Teaware and utensils. Select teaware not only based on the type of tea you plan to brew but also according to your mood, feelings and the occasion. You can try experimenting with different teas and teaware, for example brewing Green tea in a Yixing teapot. And remember to always stay true to yourself! The best place for a tea session is somewhere quiet and peaceful, this will help to really focus on the flavour. But, as always, it all depends on your mood and what you feel at the moment. The sun is shining and spring is definitely in the air, just what we need for an awesome tea session outside! ⠀ Here is the survival kit you’ll need for the great Tea Outdoors : ⠀ Teaware. A teapot or Gaiwan, and teacups is all you will really need.
