El violinista Niklas Liepe estrena "Tipping Points" de Rachel Portman, una nueva suite en 6 partes para violín y orquesta de la galardonada compositora sobre los efectos del cambio climático en la naturaleza. La grabación de estudio con la WDR Funkhausorchester también incluye un nuevo arreglo cinematográfico de las famosas "Cuatro estaciones" de Antonio Vivaldi, realizado por el arreglista Wolf Kerschek. Para su nuevo álbum conceptual, el violinista Niklas forma equipo con la compositora-icono Rachel Portman. En "Tipping Points", una suite en seis partes para violín y orquesta escrita para este álbum, la oscarizada compositora describe la belleza en peligro de todos los elementos: aire, tierra, agua y fuego, haciendo un llamamiento a la preservación de la Tierra. Los variados paisajes sonoros orquestales de Portman se complementan con poemas del escritor inglés Nick Drake, recitados elocuentemente para esta grabación por la actriz inglesa Grainne Dromgoole. Cada poema mejora la experiencia auditiva al profundizar en temas naturales, al tiempo que reflexiona sobre cómo el cambio climático pone en peligro los mismos elementos que celebran. "Tipping Points" es una composición orquestal tan evocadora como melódica, a la vez fácilmente accesible y profundamente emocional. La obra se grabó con la célebre WDR Funkhausorchester bajo la batuta de Erina Yashima y se estrenó en el prestigioso Festival Beethoven de Bonn (Alemania).

Rachel Portman también escribió tres nuevos arreglos de algunas de sus piezas favoritas para este álbum. Se trata de: " Leaves and Trees " (Hojas y árboles), " Flight " (Vuelo) y " On my Planet " (En mi planeta) de su ópera " The Little Prince " (El Principito).

La segunda obra del álbum, también una grabación en primicia mundial es una nueva versión orquestal cinematográfica de las famosas "Cuatro estaciones" de Vivaldi, del arreglista y compositor Wolf Kerschek, grabada con la WDR Funkhausorchester bajo la dirección de Patrick Lange.

It certainly feels that way and the characters played #By rossiter and semper are interesting enough and just likeable enough to make the prospect an interesting one #If that was the case it didn't happen. Perhaps rossiter didn't want to be tied to a series again (having just finished rising damp) or #Maybe this just wasn't received well enough. Very plausible because although entertaining this is a flawed bit of telly. Baker and martin #Were best known for their contributions to children's telly at this point and rossiter (although a fine dramatic actor) had become #Associated with light comedy. The problem is that this is in places a fairly grim and bleak piece so the result is a bit all over the place #Sometimes very adult and dark; sometimes trying to be light and farcical. It would be improved i think by picking a side and sticking to it #Also an issue is some very offensive language and racist dialogue. Some of it is i suppose related to the plot (whether or not that excuses #It is another matter) but one truly horrible outburst by rossiter's character (our supposed hero) really sours the rest of the play
