Caminhada das Quebradas: "pra conhecer o macro é preciso conhecer o micro"

É sexta-feira de um feriado com sol quando o ônibus parte do terminal Vila Matilde em direção à Ermelino Matarazzo, onde combinei de me encontrar com o Alberto Rodrigues Camargo e a Shirley Neves, idealizadores do Caminhada das Quebradas. O ponto marcado foi a Ocupação Cultural Mateus Santos, que infelizmente estava fechada no horário em que cheguei, então nosso papo migrou para uma praça ali perto, a Benedito Ramos Rodrigues, onde muitas crianças brincavam e barracas vendiam comida.

Alberto e Shirley são moradores da região e coordenam o projeto que nasceu em 2013 e incentiva caminhadas e corridas pelas ruas da zona leste. Além de praticar uma atividade — o que vai de encontro com os interesses dos dois e também com a formação dele, que estudou educação física, além de pedagogia e letras –, a ideia é estimular o conhecimento do local pelos moradores (e não moradores também) e, consequentemente, a valorização regional. Mostrar que não é só nos grandes parques que dá para correr, que qualquer rua é caminhável e fonte de conhecimento, e que todo lugar tem história e pode ser entendido como turístico.

"Para conhecer o macro você tem que conhecer o micro. A rua de casa, o seu bairro, sua região. Tem gente que quer pular essa etapa e chegar logo no centro, ir para outra cidade, para fora", diz Alberto. "No começo, ele falava assim para mim: 'você conhece essa rua? Essa é a rua de trás da sua casa! Acho um absurdo a pessoa querer conhecer outra cidade e não conhecer a sua própria"', conta Shirley, que trabalha com comunicação e marketing.

O CDQ começou sem muita firula, já que explorar as ruas sempre foi algo natural para Alberto, que na adolescência circulou muito pela cidade como office boy. Shirley diz que hoje corre sozinha na região em que mora, o Parque Savoy, mas que foi uma mudança de paradigma. "Ali é comum você ver mais homens correndo", conta.

Duas vezes ao ano eles fazem o percurso mais longo do projeto: 20 km de Ermelino Matarazzo até o Parque Dom Pedro. "A gente pega a avenida São Miguel, Amador Bueno, Celso Garcia, aquele viaduto [Diário Popular] da antiga prefeitura onde ninguém passa a pé", detalha Alberto.

Em 17 edições, o projeto passou por todos os distritos da Zona Leste. Entre os trajetos mais marcantes, Alberto lembra de um específico. "Acho que foi o de Itaquera (Cohab 2) até a Cidade Tiradentes (Cohab Barro Branco), pois se não me engano a Cidade Tiradentes é o maior complexo de Cohabs da América do Sul. Foi muito legal ver aqueles prédios de perto, e praticamente todas as pessoas que foram nessa caminhada nunca tinham ido para lá — as pessoas têm certo receio (preconceito) do bairro, por ser bem afastado. Mas tenho certeza que depois da caminhada voltaram com outra visão", conta. Um exemplo de como o andar a pé pode correr junto do rompimento de estereótipos, da informação.

Sobre os ensinamentos que estar na rua traz, ele frisa os detalhes que só se percebe caminhando, experimentando a cidade em outro tempo. Já Shirley aponta a dimensão histórica e social que a cidade ganha. "Tento imaginar como foi construído aquele lugar, quem são as pessoas que moram ali, quanto tempo elas demoram pra chegar no trabalho, se elas gostam ou não de viver ali", diz ela.
