Hey, this is just to say that I'm really enjoying Gradalis. Sir Perceval has always been one of my favourite knights and I am really enjoying what you're doing with his story. So far it's been exactly the story I was craving, and a lovely excuse to pick back up my French skills along the way.

I'm basic so it's Lancelot! My beloved Lancelot. He's hilarious in Knight of the cart. He's a heartthrob (even 90s Richard Gere played him). He's full of sexy catholic angst. He's ridiculous, and insufferable, and full of love and pain and oh-so-tragic. He grew up with faeries or something. Probably a terrible father. He's just muy guy.

And I also really like Bors. I imagine him going on the Grail quest with a bunch of children behind him looking like a tired uncle NGL. And he was DELIGHTFUL in Legend of King Arthur 1979 ❤️ (he's low-key mixed with Kay there, too! Which is an interesting choice)

If you had asked me a few years back I'd say Percy but now I can only give you one answer, and that is Aglovale. I got a liking to him because of this webtoon called Gradalis (Percy is the protagonist and Aglovale is a prominent character who looks like a bishonen, though he's in his 30s). Gives off tired older brother vibes. He's a deadbeat dad. His dad was a dead beat dad. What's up with Arthuriana having little brothers surpassing their elders until no one pays them any attention? Everyone (or not everyone) loves Lamorak and Perceval was pretty much perfect (though really silly, Le conte du Graal is silly as hell) but what about Aglovale? ... See, that's what I mean.

And mi girl Dindrane. Even her name is pretty!!

Je vais ENFIN pouvoir faire des postes dans ma langue et ça c’est beau.

Oui, car il y a un fandom français INCROYABLE qui est celui de Gradalis.

(Rappelons que Gradalis est un merveilleux webcomic du/de la très talentueux-se auteur-e Kochei, webcomic que je recommande vivement pour ceux qui ont accès au WEBTOON français et qui sont plus ou moins mordus de légendes arthuriennes - ou pas, d’ailleurs !)

Bref, cette œuvre est une vraie mine d’or notamment par rapport au système féodal et aux traditions moyenâgeuses !! (Je suis pas extraordinairement cultivée en la matière mais y’a quand même quelques bases populaires qu’on maîtrise toutes et tous plus ou moins)

Juste au cas où : ATTENTION, SPOILER ❗️⛔️ La suite contient des informations sur le webcomic qui pourrait divulgâcher (comme disent ces génies de québécois) le contenu au public !

Bref.

Donc, pour ceux qui auraient la référence de cette pépite qu’est Gradalis : le ship de Mordred et Percy est vraiment incroyable genre

Mordred est ultra-à cheval sur les traditions et la bienséance (enfin de ce que j’ai compris)

Est-ce qu’on peut subodorer qu’il va courtiser Percy ? Très sérieusement, dans le sens le plus concret du concept ?

Il va devoir demander la permission à Aglovale (et possiblement Lamorak) de faire la cour à leur petit frère ! Et puis, je sais pas de quand date cette tradition mais il y a combien de chances pour qu’il aille faire sa sérénade sous la fenêtre de Percy le soir ? Il est aussi censé lui réciter de la poésie et gagner des joutes en son nom, je crois ?

Et ce serait trop drôle que Percy lui fasse la cour aussi du coup-

Je l’imagine bien faire solennellement face à Morgane, avec son fameux air déterminé et féroce, et lâcher de toute sa fierté galloise : « Je vous demande la permission de faire la cour à votre fils. »

Et puis Aglovale et Lamorak, scandalisé qu’un prince d’Orcanie ose ne serait-ce que penser à DÉFLORER leur baby bro si iNnOcEnt et iNflUenÇabLe

Est-ce que tu connais Gradalis de Kochei ? C'est un webtoon fait par un.e compatriote sur les légendes arthuriennes. Personellement je l'aime beaucoup et je fais énormément sa pub autour de moi parce que c'est très très bien (évidemment) et parce que ça doit être populaire si on veut que son contrat soit renouvelé. Le personnage principal est Perceval, et y a des lesbiennes, j'espère que c'est assez pour te convaincre d'y jeter un coup d'oeil <3 bisous bisous

Currently working on : Y’a bien entendu ma grosse fanfic, ay’lonit ! Jsuis en grosse galère niveau productivité en ce moment mais ça avance. D’ailleurs, c’est bientôt le grand final de la partie 1 hehe, grand hâte de vous montrer tout ça. Y’a aussi le comics que je compte réaliser pour la version de la quête du graal, rien de concret en ce moment, c’est surtout moi qui note mes idées de détails niveau plot. Et! Ça c’est un projet beaucoup plus détente et deconne : Les ravains de ses morts. Ce titre je m’en remettrai jamais c’est beaucoup trop drôle. Basiquement yvain (le gens) et moi en self insert dans kaamelott, parce qu’on vous emmerde

Last series : jsuis en train de suivre la dernière saison de snk. Même si la fin du manga m’a déçu sur sa cohérence et certains autres points, je reste curieux de voir comment les choses seront animées. Et pour l’instant, visuellement et auditivement, c’est assez réussi

Last movie : oulah… prit d’un elan de nostalgie y’a 2 jours j’ai rematé dofus livre 1 et je regrette ptdr, ce film à part au niveau des musiques est pas ouf du tout

The search for this holy object is so ingrained in the public consciousness that the word "grail" has come to mean any object you work long and hard to obtain.

One of Jesus' followers named Joseph of Arimathea (who offered his own tomb to be used for Jesus) used the cup to catch Jesus' blood from the cross, ensuring it became a relic of unimaginable holy power. Joseph then goes to England for some reason, taking the holy cup with him, where it would become the source of much chivalric desire.

The Gospels merely mention there was a cup Jesus used at the Last Supper with no special attention drawn to it

The first appearance of the Grail comes in the 12th century poem Perceval, le Conte du Graal (or "Percival, the Story of the Grail") by Chrétien de Troyes.

· Chretien was one of the earliest and most influential writers of Arthurian legends

· In the story, a maiden brings in a grail made of gold which contains a miraculous communion wafer

A grail is not a cup but a wine mixing bowl (gradalis)

Robert de Boron wrote a work called Joseph d'Arimathie about a decade after Perceval, which include popular folk beliefs, such as the Veil of Veronica and Joseph using the cup to catch blood

· When Jesus' body disappeared, Joseph was arrested under suspicion of stealing it, and he remained in prison for many years. Fortunately, Jesus appeared to him and gave him the Holy Grail, which sustained him until he was released by the emperor Vespasian.

o After this, Joseph and his family found a new home in the West, where he established a line of Holy Grail protectors, who eventually included Percival.

Central to the Holy Grail legend is the mysterious figure of the Fisher King,

· The King is maimed when a knight named Balin stabs him in the downstairs area with the Spear of Destiny in a move that became known as the Dolorous Stroke.

· With the wound comes a great curse that turns the surrounding kingdom into a wasteland and leaves the king unable to do anything but fish idly in the river outside his castle, waiting for a hero to claim the Holy Grail and save him

Lancelot’s son Galahad is the one to find the Holy Grail, heal the Fisher King, restore the wasteland, and then ascend to heaven

The very character of Galahad was added to the Arthurian mythos in a cycle of prose romances from 13th century France known variously as the Vulgate Cycle or the Lancelot-Grail

Possible that the Holy Grail comes from pre-Christian Celtic lore

· the Fisher King bears resemblance to the legendary Celtic god-king Bran the Blessed, who features heavily in the cycle of medieval Welsh legends known as the Mabinogion.

o Bran has a miraculous cauldron he can use to restore the dead to life and grant wisdom, as well as having a spear wound on his leg.

In 15th century English writer John Hardyng wondered if it was sang rail instead of san grail

· Whole industry has sprung up around the idea that rather than a blessed relic from the Last Supper, the Sangreal is in fact the secret bloodline of Jesus with his secret wife, Mary Magdalene (80s best selled Holy Blood, Holy Grail + The Da Vinci Code)

Joseph of Arimathea delivered the Grail to the valleys of Avalon, a location which since the 12th century has been associated with Glastonbury in Somerset, England.

Disclaimer : Since I’ve been communicating in english during my whole socmed life, this post will be in english. However, the launch of Gradalis will be on Webtoon FRANCE, in french. An official translation is planned and I’ll post a link as soon as it’s available. Thank you. I’m proud to announce the comic I’ve been working on for months will be launched on webtoon originals next January! It’s based on Arthurian Myths, and specifically a loose rewriting of Perceval, the Story of the Grail.

Perceval is a naive young noble, living in rural seclusion with his mother. He knows few of the world outside of his mother's domain, even less of knights and their fights. One day, he meets one of them and mistakes him for an angel. However, once Perceval reveals his name, this particular knight seems quite interested in bringing him to the king's court, in order to knight him. Have some doodles~
