A finished version of the Jillian sprite sketch I made awhile ago (before sketching the others even) - The colors of the uniform are a nod to the name of the school, which is also one of my favorite flowers, a lesser celandine! I did add the schools logo, the flower, on to her jacket but its hard to see due to her pigtails

I might add blinking animation later on~

Have you done anymore work on Play Me like You Love Me?

Very little honestly. I don't want to throw away the project but I've had a complete burn out with the project and find it hard to continue it right now. Everytime I try to draw a sprite its not good enough in my eyes and whenever I try writing for it I keep wanting something else for the story.

I am planning to not do art full time anymore, in a few months, so I can draw in my free time instead of forcing myself to do so for earning money. I sometimes do a few months of work (not art) and I enjoy drawing way more when art is not my main income. Whenever I can find some steady income outside art I hope to find the motivation again for PMLYLM.

So there was this scene in PMLYLM and pretty much the principle buts in and goes "yeah I adopted them now" and I just- want to imagine that he would so read them bedtime stories XDD

!!! minor tw: abuse/blood !!! (no actual human abuse, instrument abuse) made a pmlylm instruman oc by using the instruman generator and gave him a whole ref sheet! his name is nicolò and he is a violin that was mistreated/abused by his past musicians. this was a 90+ hour project (between concepts/drafts, personality, actual drawing time, etc) and my first attempt at making a fully fleshed-out oc; i’m honestly quite thrilled with the results! i am a bit late to the party with the pmlylm ocs though, so that’s a big oof on my part. his musician’s design is still under development, so when i get her done, i’ll definitely post her as well! she won’t be getting a full ref sheet like he did, but she’ll have a design and a minor description at the very least.  follow the development blog for play me like you love me: @pmlylm creator of pmlylm: @loojii

After playing such a wonderful demo, and getting introduced to "Fred," there was no way I couldn't attempt to make my own interpretation of him! I tried my best to mimic the game's art style but some things I just simply couldn't do. Regardless, the demo so far is super interesting and I can't wait for the full version! Someone mentioned it to me a little while back but I remember when I looked at it the characters were all very young (all teenagers?) & it took place in a high school setting? At my age, I’m just not interested in that setting anymore or in characters that young...

Woops its been way too long. I can explain why but it's not that interesting and you guys aren't here for me, as you should haha!

I sketched out all the new sprites for Jillian and her old friends. This is a project I do in my free time and I don't have a lot of that (free time in which I'm motivated to draw for myself, that is). So it still will be slow development! But after lots of stuff behind the scenes I'm happy to get back to the art part :)

From left to right: Elijah (sax player), Aden (drummer), Jillian (piano player / guitar player), Sally (Glockenspiel player), and September (violin player) All of them are new sketches, though I shared Jillian and September before, but I re-used Sally's old sprite for her face because I still really liked it !! I hope to make a better demo first, which is longer has the story better layed out and of course features new and improved art! Thank you all for still being here, you guys are awesome~

So I did a drawing excercise, it’s about taking someone elses sketch and doing the lineart and colour in their style. I think it’s practice for animators, it was really cool and helpful!
