intimidatingly silent penultimate boss encounter

We made this piece for @colosseumzine! It was an absolute joy to contribute to this project along with so many extremely talented artists and writers. Pokemon Colosseum is a fantastic, beautifully weird, one of a kind game, and it meant a lot to get to be a part of a community celebrating its 20th anniversary.

TECHNOLOGY OF ORRE

Fictional blueprints of technology from Pokemon Colosseum — my contributions to SNAGGED! a 20th anniversary zine (@colosseumzine).

and some early wips. embellished most text boxes with personal headcanons about how the tech might function and had the fun idea of the game's protag doodling their own notes over some blueprints.

mostly traced over the in-game model of the hoverbike with lots of clipstudio paint ruler tool lines. mark 2004 being the game's release date, and bike mass the same as koraidon.

ended up drawing an exploded view of some internal parts for this p★da later. undecided whether the sticky note doodle would've been drawn by game protag or companion rui.

also used different paper textures for each final blueprint to distinguish them a bit more.

i mostly used the same template for each blueprint, but i wanted this snag machine blueprint to be more distinct, being developed by the in-game antagonists. so i used a different font and had black out text over some words.

a bit off model, but i spent a long time rotating the snag machine in my mind trying to imagine how to draw the the curves of the gauntlet and pauldron at different angles.

i did leave some numbered components unidentified but to fill up some space in the final blueprints, i added a fictional script based on the pokemon sword & shield games. the text is just a copy of the english words that overlays it, but i did left-justify the fake script, to differentiate the languages.

Ta-dah!! It's the 20th anniversary of Pokemon Colosseum, and I was able to do this piece in honor of it! My theme was Rui and Plusle, in matching outfits~ It's like a fashion page!
