Annie Pootoogook | Lovers’ Embrace. 2004
I keep coming back to Annie. An incomparable artist and storyteller. She is deeply missed but her genius, care and strength lives on through the worlds she drew.

Hi! What style would you call your art? I know you tag them as tritone, but when I Google the style nothing like it comes up
Hey hi! Tritone simply means that there are three tones in the picture - black, white, and grey in most of my drawings.
Nothing comes up when you google "tritone" because this my own unique style! There is no official name for it, it is not part of a larger trend or genre, and you'll only find it on this blog or on my twitter.
Hopefully this is not what this is about, but please do not try to generate my art through an AI, or train an AI on my art. My commissions are right there and they're both very affordable and very quick.
If this has nothing to do with AI generators and you're simply looking for similar stuff because you want to see more artists doing something similar to what I do, this style has been cooking in the slow cooker at the back of my head for over a decade, but some of the ingredients (inspirations) that were thrown in that pot were formline art, inuit prints and sculpture (in particular the works of artists Kananginak Pootoogook and Kenojuak Ashevak), Nazca art (including the Nazca lines, Nazca ceramics, and this specific Nazca vase), iconographic vector art (especially Monkik's flat icon animals), and a lot of other stuff I can't put a finger on anymore.
