This is a tired thought, but quite frankly this generation has an issue with thinking being a minority somehow makes you more morally pure. Somehow you can't be biased or some kind of -ism if you're disabled or queer or mentally ill, etc. To the point of that it's extreme. Had a discussion a few weeks ago in my professional ethics class where we discussed the two psychologists who made the CIA interrogation methods post 9/11 (and of course lost their licences when it came to light).
A girl tried to insist that the APA updating their code to be more strict after this was "because they want to make money and cover their ass" (very conspiracy theory and not how things like the APA work), but also insisted the reason why these two men did what they did (and thought they'd get away with it) was BECAUSE they were "cishet abled white men", totally ignoring the fact that they were payed several million dollars each and had CIA backing, why would they care about professional backlash after? But no, to her the only reason why they did it was because they weren't a visible minority. And clearly no minority person would break their sworn professional code of ethics for basically a billion dollars and CIA protection.
Being a good person is a choice, not innate. And also, quite frankly I think this is why the pro-Pal leftists are so insistent on claiming Zionists/Israelis are "white/cishet/etc" because they've made an enemy group in their mind and it's so easy to "us vs them".

you know one thing ive noticed that irks me is that how hamas supporters always tend to attack on israeli supporters like the latter will be minding their own business on social media and just have a simple israeli flag in their bio; and then out of nowhere you have all these self-righteous so-called pro-palestinians who are really just hamas supporters attacking and calling all types of curses to those israeli supporters just because of the israeli flag. however has anyone ever seen an israeli supporter go to a so-called pro-palestinian's page and attacked them for having a palestinian flag in their bio? NO.
Oh I’ve noticed. The amount of hate messages that I’ve seen pro pal people post on random Israel or Jewish blogs/social media pages (who are literally minding their own business) is ridiculous. I’ve heard that it’s really bad on TikTok. I guess a whole bunch of pro pal and anti Zionist people started spamming someone on TikTok (mind you- I don’t even think this person was even Jewish (I could be wrong)) about how she was silent on the whole I/p conflict. It got to the point where she deleted her account and maybe her other social media pages too due to the constant harassment. This whole thing is just really fucked up.
To be honest I have never seen Israelis/ Jews harass pro pal and anti Zionist pages. When there is disagreements happening- Israeli/jewish bloggers are polite when handling the pro pal and anti Zionist crowds. We stay on track on the argument/ we’re polite but not too kind (because we can only handle so much bull shit)/ we try to guide them to resources that backs up on what we are saying/etc… when I handle them (because they really love to start things with me lol) I did try to be kind to them, but obviously that did not work out. So I’ve stopped being kind- I’m polite. I’ll admit that I do have a mouth on me and cuss words so slip out (but in my defense- I was raised by a dad who had a mouth of a sailor- tbh he could make the sailor look like a saint- and a mom who was raised in both the city and country. Combine that together and you get me lol)
But for the pro pal and anti Zionist crowds it’s totally opposite… like holy crap- and I thought that the pro trump people were bat shit crazy. They are constantly stalking and harassing Israelis/jewish people and their social medias, creating lists, full on spewing antisemitic shit/ etc… they really do terrify me.
It’s really scary that they’ve ramped up their hate. With what’s been happening in college campuses all over the world. If anyone is still in college- please stay safe. Your safety comes first. If you don’t feel safe in an area please leave. If you don’t feel comfortable by yourself, ask someone to go with you. Make sure that you have your phone on you and that it’s charged. Take self defense classes if you can or even watch self defense videos (basic moves can and will save you if you are in danger). If you are going out- make sure you tell someone and even give them your gps location. Document everything too- just in case you need to fill out a police report (even if the police doesn’t do shit, creating a paper trail will help you out). If things gets really bad and you need to drop out of college or switch to online- do it. Don’t risk your health and safety when dealing with those fuckers. To those pro pal and anti Zionist crowds who are participating in these violent protests or see no issues with it- y’all need to fucking open your eyes. You are creating a dangerous atmosphere for everyone and making things really worse.

Didn't know I had to say this but if you're stance on the Palestinian "conflict" is pretty much anything other than "Isreal is commiting a Genocide, the free-palestine movement is correct " we do not agree and I am not the token Jew for you. You don't have to unfollow but I'm certainly unfollowing you

I don't feel safe on tumblr right now. This is the most vile pro hamas social platform I've been to, it causes me great pain and anger
High-school ppl and uneducated outsiders looking at hamas Instagram propaganda, delusionaly 'woke' and express their 2 cents antisemitism loudly and sending me death wishes on anon. What the hell is going on. You want to free palastine? No problem. After they kill the Jews they will come for you next: lgbtq, christians, women. I'm so tired of explaining stupid people that hamas doesn't care about palastine and never did. Sooo if you're so pro hamas why won't you come here to support them and be murdered on sight. Cause that's what they do :) no lie.
Anyway, I'm gonna take a break, i can't enjoy fandom right now, knowing at least half of the bloggers want to see Jews suffer and die. Love yall.

also there's nothing to suggest disney supports genocide (AND the original title for that movie was ant Semitic, they aren't pro Israel anyway)
also free Gaza
Hello there! Even if some people, or even most of the people who are acting or writing etc. at the new pjo series are openly pro palastine (not that being antisemitic equates to being pro palastine!) , the show is being aired on Disney+, which you only have access to, if you're paying them (except for the trial run). Disney donated since the beginning of the last two months abt 2 million dollars to Israel and very openly supported them.
Here an article on an pro palastine newspaper
https://www.newarab.com/news/gaza-backlash-disney-donates-2-mln-israel-aid-groups
And one from an Israeli one
https://www.timesofisrael.com/hollywood-declares-support-for-israel-as-disney-pledges-2-million/
That being said, I will probably take this post down in a day or smth, because I should not be debating something that can be easily researched. I wish you a good evening.

It is problematic because people who are pro-palatine sometimes think that means being against Israel, and that’s what makes this conflict bigger. Pro-palastine = anti-Hamas. And after ending this current conflict, there needs to be resolutions and the people of palastine need to be supported. Free palatine should not mean „free palatine from the Israel conflict“ - but some people who are not informed feel that way. And this might be why they don’t understand why even calling for a ceasefire is ETHICALLY the right thing and everybody wishes for it, but POLITICALLY that might endanger a democratic state defending itself after a terroristic attack from a terroristic, reactionary group wanting to cleanse said country. Nothing in this conflict can be thought or said without context, if you leave the ethical level in the sense of politics, structure, etc to analyze and look for a solution.
well this "current conflict" isn't going to end because it technically isn't current as it has been going on for 75 years. netanyahu is refusing any deal that involved a ceasefire in the name of self defence and wanting to get rid of hamas, yet we have around 9k civilians dead. 9k people and 4k being children are not hamas. also a lot of people seem to think being pro-palestine = antisemitic which it does not. the other issue is the us and uk support the iof and the us fund them too so that means they can do whatever they want as long as they claim self defence which is how we end up every single time with palestinian deaths always being the highest every single time. a lot of it is not necessarily to understand, it's that people simply don't want to research.

Honestly not surprised how fast leftists became ranging antisemites and racists considering I've been seeing Nazi shit from them for years. Like the "we shouldn't experiment on animals anymore, instead we should experiment on (type criminal the poster hates most)." That's literal Nazi shit. You're talking like a Nazi.

I know the topic of Bushnell is complicated, but I can't help but think of it sometimes. Not really because of him, but because of everyone's reaction to him. My mother used to work for the VA, as a therapist. She still has friends working for the VA. I was talking to her, shortly after the incident and while I didn't mention it, she did mention off hand that one of her friends was stressed. Freaking out. I guess why, and she agreed.
Because a vulnerable population, veterans and service members was once again told that a very vocal part of the population , wants them dead. A population already prone to suicide, depression, and isolation, saw a group celebrate a man's suicide, told it was the greatest thing he ever done. That it was the best protest. A group already feeling abandoned. You can guess how therapists would feel. Especially when any loss of life comes down hard on the VA.
Most people don't think well of vets and service members. There's definitely a larger discussion to be had about the military, but that's not important here. There is no time and place where a hurting man's livestreamed suicide should be celebrated. People were angry, when the embassy cleared the flowers, the memorial from their property. Because it wasn't about grieving a young man who took his own life.
Maybe he could have gotten help. But we don't need to tell others that the only good veteran is a dead veteran. The only good service member is a dead service member. I cannot understand treating death like this. This isn't martyrdom, it's suffering.

Hey Ash! Thanks for navigating this discussion.
Think we have to be careful with one thing: there were anons saying they feel sorry cause you had to deal with szieonists, or people that don’t care for palastine - only because some people find the whole of/history of this conflict complex or difficult, DOES NOT mean they‘re pro-Israel nor does it mean they don‘t care about the death of civilians. This is the tactic populists use to incite people against one another. You can support the people of Palestine and still love your Jewish friends, yes. But you should be careful as to when you cross the border to antisemitic thoughts - because it’s not the fault of the civilians of Israel either. We should ALL be on the same page regarding the deaths of thousands of people in Gaza! But regarding everything else, I believe it‘s dangerous to throw around with accusations and certain terms. World is bad enough, let’s not jump to conclusions and at each others throats. There are different views on this and that has to be okay (again, not referring to the past two weeks).
This was not against you, Ash. Just referring to some comments here,
oh yes! i forgot to say it in the ask about it but i don't wanna call anyone here is a zionist that's for sure unless it's very clear. supporting jews does not equate to supporting zionism at all! i'd like to say that since obviously i don't want people thinking that's what i believe, thank you for bringing it up!

I get you want the band to post something. I have just never in my life witnessed a conflict that is this two sided. While there‘s genozide in Gaza happening, thousands of people dying, after the hamas attacked Israel, whose goals is the eradication of israelis as a whole, pro palastine around the whole world are calling for a genocide against Jews, attacking Jews in every country. It’s like, what even say about this. Like I just mean: I sit at home, completely sad and baffled and overwhelmed about all this terror. I just can’t blame anyone for feeling the same, you know? It‘s so tough.
"pro palastine around the whole world are calling for a genocide against Jews" i'd argue it's the other way round... unless you're talking about rallies/protests going on then to assume they're rooted in antisemitism is really............... they're not at all. most people do not agree with what hamas did as civilians were killed, but you can even use fucking snapchat maps to see the difference in what's going on in gaza vs somewhere in israel where they're partying and cheering at bombs, some ppl getting on tiktok to mock palestinians.... i don't think i've seen the whole world call for a genocide against jews when the world and the world leaders are openly supporting a genocide against palestinians, against arabs and international law is being completely thrown out the window which is how we've ended up with 8,000+ civilians and almost or it even could be 4,000 children killed. this has been going on for 75 years because zionists occupied palestine through ethnic cleansing and thus created israel, are we meant to act like it's all extremely fucked up?
