ANNA was born on 23 July 1503. Sources diverge about the location of her birth, some say that she was born in Prague (the capital of Bohemia) and others say it was in Buda (the capital of Hungary).
At the time of her birth she was the only child of Władysław II Jagiellon (also known as Ulászló II, King of Hungary and Vladislav II, King of Bohemia) with his third wife Anne de Foix, and thus she was a member of the JAGIELLONIAN DYNASTY.
From birth she was technically a PRINCESS OF HUNGARY AND BOHEMIA, though it is not certain if she was in fact called Princess.
Both of her parents died when she was young. She was only three years old when her mother died and twelve when her father died.
Before her father's death he had agreed with Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor that the Habsburgs would succeed to the Hungarian throne in case he had no male descendants.
However after their agreement a male son was born and to seal their pact a double marriage was organized. She and her brother Prince Lajos were to get married to Emperor Maximilian I's grandchildren FERDINAND and Marie, Archduke and Archduchess of Austria.
Her brother was only ten years old when he succeeded their father in 1516 as Lajos II, King of Hungary and Ludvík II, King of Bohemia. Whereas she moved to Austria to live at the Habsburg Court until her wedding took place in the 1520s.
With her husband she had fifteen children (check the list below) and impressively only one died young.
In 1526 her brother died fighting against the Ottomans in the Battle of Mohács. If she was not a woman she could have succeeded him as Queen of Hungary and Bohemia in her own right.
Instead her husband (a Habsburg, per the agreement) was elected to succeed her brother (as Ferdinand I, King of Bohemia and Ferdinánd I, King of Hungary). And she became the QUEEN CONSORT OF BOHEMIA AND HUNGARY.
By 1531 her husband was elected as Ferdinand I, King of the Romans (also known as King of Germany), to one day succeed his brother Karl V, Holy Roman Emperor. So, she also became the QUEEN CONSORT OF THE ROMANS (or QUEEN CONSORT OF GERMANY).
Unfortunately in 1547 the Queen of Bohemia, Hungary and Germany died in Prague, aged 43, days after giving birth to a daughter.

Many years after her death, in 1556, her husband was finally crowned Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor, so she never became his Empress Consort.
Since the accession of her son Emperor Maximilian II in 1564 until the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire and the Austrian Empire, in the 19th century, all Emperors were her descendants.
