ok the "creation story" of hazbin is slowly coming back to me as i reflect on the first two episodes and it was confusing.
here's how it went...
no god. only angels. "beings of pure light" that "worshipped good" and "shielded all from evil"
(who did they shield? idk, humans haven't been created yet, we'll get there in a second.)
Lucifer was one of the angels and he was a "dreamer" that the "elders" thought he was a troublemaker
(he's only shown making harmless fireworks) and "his way of thinking was dangerous to the order of their world" so he could only "watch" as they did things their way.
the *angels* make Adam and--not Eve--Lilith. Adam. and Lilith. from the dust. "equals as the first of mankind" but for some reason, even tho they were created equal, Adam "demanded control"
...just gonna express that sin hasn't even been introduced yet so why would Adam feel the need to do this? he was just *created* and instantly desires power even tho no one has bitten the apple or brought "evil" into the world yet? i get that there seems to be *something* Viv wants to do about the narrative of "good" and "evil" but it makes you question where those lines are in this world. we'll get to "evil" in a second. anyway...
Lilith refuses to "submit" to him and flees the garden.
now. listen. right after she runs away she's shown in a sad/depressed pose all alone, and there's this line...i'm still reeling from it. it's literally "drawn in by her fierce independence" ... what... the *fuck* ... does that even mean. independence means you can take care of yourself/stand on your own without needing someone else, it doesn't "drive you inward"... ??????
so... that line is instantly followed up with "Lucifer found her" and suddenly she's really happy and the "two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love." and "together" they wished to share "the magic of free will with humanity"
((...where'd the rest of humanity come from all of the sudden?? they might've just meant ~ in general ~ or referring to the humans of the future, but they only mentioned Adam & Lilith so far, were they just "the first"?? and idk why Lilith knows about free will, she's a regular human that just got created?? like Lucifer could've told her about it but--hey--actually--she already *had* free will bc she CHOSE to leave Adam/the garden so do the other humans *not* have it for some reason?? what??))
moving along--get this--"they", as in Lucifer *and* Lilith, offer the "fruit of knowledge" (not the fruit of free will, fruit of knowledge) to... "Adam's *new* bride, Eve" ??? where did Eve come from???
((also even though the story says how Lucifer AND Lilith wanted to share free will w/humanity, Lilith is literally just standing there, Lucifer's the one who poofs out of a snake and offers the apple to Eve. did he just tell Lilith about the apple and Lilith agreed or brought up the idea? how was she involved?))
but the "gift came with a curse" bc giving humans free will was an "act of disobedience" that gave evil a way to get into Earth. ((insinuation of that Root of Evil thing in the visuals.)) bringing with it a "new realm of darkness and sin" and the "order heaven worked to maintain shattered."
so Adam insisting to have power over Lilith didn't disrupt heaven's order, or doesn't seem to count as "evil" or "sin" ...but free will invites evil? or is it the fruit of knowledge that invites evil? or is it Eve herself who-- ugh idk. ((as an aside, hazbin's story calls it the "fruit of knowledge" but insinuates it would give humans free will. in bible mythos humans are already made with free will by god so they were free to choose whether they "disobey" god or not. the fruit's "knowledge" is the awareness of good and evil. self-awareness and shame and shit like that which brings sin into the world so god tells them "don't eat it" but a serpent convinces them to. it's not free will or a gift. Viv can write whatever story she wants, just pointing it out.))
so, for doing that, Lucifer & Lilith are cast into "the dark pit (Lucifer) had created" but it doesn't tell us what happens to Eve or Adam.
((...and what's the dark pit? Earth??? Hell??? The dimensional concept of darkness/evil???? is hell literally *in* Earth or is it a pocket dimension somewhere?????))
and they did this so Lucifer couldn't ever see "the good that came from humanity, only the cruel and the wicked" ...so he becomes Sad BoyTM that "lost his will to dream" and mopes. meanwhile Lilith "thrived" and empowered demonkind with her voice and songs and "as the numbers of hell grew so did its power" so heaven felt too threatened by that and decided to do the yearly exterminations to "make sure sinners could never rise against them."
(("heaven made a heartless decision" is shown with a visual of Sera's silhouette who makes a sad expression, then a line about the exterminations brings up a silhouette of Adam's angel form smiling widely--there is no clarification in the narrative or visuals during the creation story that this is The Original Man Adam, we get that insinuation later when he says he's "the original dick".))
but Lilith was still hopeful and "her dream was passed down to their precious daughter"
((note! the grammar was off here bc "their" *assumedly* insinuates Lucifer, but him losing his will to dream is that last time he's mentioned by name in the story. we're just suddenly given the line "Lilith's hope remained and her dream was passed down to their precious daughter" and the only entity referred to in the narrative before that was heaven. so. unless Lucifer literally isn't her dad that's an error.))
and the last line of the story after that is "...the princess of hell" and of course that's when Charlie does the "don't worry mom I'll make you proud" line.
((last thing i'll say on that too is we were never really told what Lilith's "dream" was. to free demonkind? to empower them? to fight heaven? all we know is Lilith "wanted to share the magic of free will with humanity", "thrived in hell", and "empowered demonkind" that's it.))
phew. now listen--everyone's free to do what they want with story--i was raised Christian like a lot of folks but personally idgaf if you wanna shit on Christianity, or blend mythos together. and many story things that might be confusing or lacking can be like... "explained away", but usually what makes a story stick with ppl is when it makes sense without needing the extra explaining. and tbf some of this i don't think will make sense even if it's explained later.
this whole creation story kind of felt like decisions made along the way to fill holes in the plot or to "make" specific plot elements work together without considering if it makes enough sense as a cohesive story without needing extra explaining.
thems my thoughts on hazbin's "creation story" for now, opinions subject to change in the future.

“Why would I ask her when we’re separated?” He gives him a confused look. Should he have asked her instead? He could’ve said no. “Do you want me to go ask her instead?” He asks raising a brow at him. He honestly didn’t even consider asking Lilith, Eve? Yeah no. He offered her the apple nothing more. “Since when are you the human expert? You haven’t been there since the garden” he says squinting at him. Pretty sus of you Adam. Is he sneaking to earth? Is that why he dresses like that? Does this man even have money? Lucifer can’t help but look him over again before raising a brow at him. Hes judging very hard right now. Especially with the collar. What a dog.
Tumblr media
“Who said we’re flying? Supposed to be incognito smart guy, no flying” he says grabbing his wrist tugging him down to the ground again as he pulls him close. Hand under his chin as he frowns, he’s already inching to take it off unless Adam has other plans. “Ditch the mask or I leave without you.”
"What- you never heard of a rebound? Pretty weak, dude." He mused, pantomiming picking at an ear instead of just tugging his mask off to scratch that itch behind a lobe. "That's how you know you're a real dickmaster. When you hit it so good even your exes come around 'cause they can't just hit it and quit it. Everybody knows that." Obviously. Though his jaunty demeanor frays with the question, his feathers frazzled. "She's gotta be the one that asks, or it doesn't count! Zero dick energy if you ask." Yeah, totally. Absolutely that.
Shaking off the momentary fluster with an aloof shrug of his shoulders, Adam took to scooting a talon under the collar clamped in place in order to slowly spin it in place with enough care behind the supposed idling to ensure the mid section of his neck remained covered for the entirety of the task. "So unbased of you to assume I haven't. Y'know hell isn't the only place that puts on a sick show. Way less syphilis puddles to step in too." He punctuated the point with a snap of teeth and a smirk. He was a dog all right, and the world was his bitch.
He'd only gotten a few wing beats in before hell's overseer yanked him back down- ugh, seriously? Could bro get any more killbuzz? When he was in this pissy sort of mood, there was little else he wanted than to divebomb the ground and using the momentum of pulling up at the last second to ride the currents even higher for the next round. Humans had the right idea with those things they called rollercoasters. Though for all his previous fussing, the angel fell silent a moment as he felt the testy tug of fingers wormed under the jawline of his crash helmet. Not even Lute bothered him this much over the mask, but then again- she knew more about what ticked underneath than what an apple could teach him about himself.
"...wouldn't be, y'know-..." He trailed off as the mask's opening moved up and over his mouth. His eyes were closed when the barrier slid over his lashes as well, the indention of a half-furrowed brow illuminated by the lightest dusting of gold flecks all but hidden at the bridge of his nose if it weren't for the lack of light in the fallen dusk to draw attention to angelic freckles. As if he didn't trust what the other might do with the helmet if he got ahold of it, Adam reached up to grasp a horn and tug to the side- the one that his hair naturally sloped to upon extraction. With the extra weight in his grasp, he let the mask fall down by his hip where his arm would sway a moment from the momentum of its drop.
It was only once his eyes snap open did the permanently tired looking glow of them show their immediate surroundings as puffy and recovering shade of red. The subtle, wet smell of salt lingered. He cleared his throat. "...the end of the world. If ya didn't show up to it, I mean."

About a month ago, I had a fairly random revelation that Lilith was to Lucifer what Adam was to Michael. Not in the sense that she was ever his vessel, as all humans capable of serving that role are purportedly descended from Adam and Eve, and, while it’s never specifically confirmed to be true for the Supernatural universe, most lore surrounding Lilith sets her up as being too old for that.
And I also don’t necessarily mean that Lucifer and Lilith were in love—Lucifer is too egotistical and arrogant for me, personally, to believe he’s capable of a true romantic bond, and it is twice stated that he lost his virginity to Kelly Kline, in settings that leant themselves toward his credibility on this subject (musing aloud to an uncomprehending Kelly in the privacy of their bedroom, and awkwardly grappling for something to say in his first unplanned meeting with Jack, respectively)—leading me to believe that the recognizable sleazy substitute for love (lust) was not present between these two either. But, I do think that there was a connection there, and I do find myself curious about it.
After all, Lilith was willing to die to set Lucifer free from the cage. And yes, I am aware that she had made a deal with Michael to help set off the apocalypse, and she was obligated to carry out her part, but has anyone ever wondered what exactly Lilith got out of the bargain? She’s not exactly written like Eve, from season 6. She is not mothering toward demonkind. I can’t see her sharing Michael’s motivation to bring God back. The one who stood to benefit from her sacrifice, was, in fact, Lucifer. (And Michael, obviously.)
I think that the bond Lilith and Lucifer formed was a bit similar to what Adam and Michael had, in that it came from a lack of choice. I firmly believe that Lilith and Lucifer spent a decent amount of time together in Hell, just the two of them. Likely for a much longer period of time than Michael and Adam did in the cage. We don’t know exactly when Lucifer made Lilith, but we do know that he was out and moving around for awhile after the apple incident that Gadreel was incarcerated for—after all, Cain was a grown man when he caught Lucifer circling Abel and agreed to take the Mark. And bible ages are a little strange, but let’s say that that’s a good couple of decades in earth time. That’s much longer in Hell. Assuming that Lilith was turned prior to Cain, that’s a long time with Lucifer and Lilith being the only two occupants of Hell. (Well, except for Ramsey and her hellpuppies; remember she was pregnant when Lucifer saved her from extinction.)
And I wonder if in that time, the two of them could have developed a begrudging sort of friendship? Just from the forced proximity—Michael was clearly capable of decimating Lilith on sight if she went back to earth, and there weren’t exactly a lot of humans wondering around that early on in the species to provide her with cover—not to mention a meatsuit. She was pretty much stuck there, while Lucifer was presumably laying low, while he got his schemes together. Setting up the horsemen, binding Death, somehow getting and hiding the demon tablet, creating the Princes of Hell, and such. . .Just a lot of stuff, and where he used to have a vast multitude of siblings to talk to, he now just had this snarky little corrupted human soul, and I think—I think—they became friends.
And Lucifer considers this to be the filthiest thing that he’s ever done—on par with the most torrid, disgusting affair that anyone has ever had, and he still hates everything about it to this day. That’s why Lucifer never once talks about Lilith. He is nauseated by the fact that they were the original frenemies, completely disgusted and powerless to resist their intense conversational chemistry, and if they saw each other tomorrow there’s a tiny part of him that will still light up because no one has ever been more thoroughly on his level.
And it’s fucking mutual. If they saw each other tomorrow, they would exchange the most vehement of insults, maybe even physically attack one another, shouting their hatred at full volume—and then a few hours later be spotted at a coffee shop, passionately talking trash on Sam Winchester, and set terrible, terrible plans in motion that will plague Sammy’s life for the next several years. When they part ways, they would both feel intensely dirty, telling themselves that this will never happen again—but Lucifer has never been one to resist temptation, and at 3am finds himself sending that text message he knows he’ll regret later. . . “So what are your thoughts on Dean? ;)” And off they go again, all night long.
And that’s why Lilith was willing to lay down her life to set Lucifer free. And it’s also why she had her moment of doubt, when she nearly got Sam to agree to that demon deal. She had a moment of realizing that she was about to die for an asshole she doesn’t even like.
I personally like to think that Michael was the archangel who nearly came blasting in to defend Chuck that night, when Dean pulled the plug on the deal Sam was about to make (and before you try to tell me that wasn’t a real deal because Lilith was planning a trap—rewatch that scene, Sam was the one who played dirty by reaching for the demon-killing knife; Lilith was busy eyeing his crotch through his jeans and feeling up his chest). After Lilith smoked out of her meatsuit, I like to think that Michael followed her and gave a kind of prep talk, telling her that it’s important that they remember their motivations, shameful though they might be
At which point, Lilith just bursts into tears, crying, “Oh god, you’re right. . .He’s my best friend—how did this happen? How did this—Oh god, oh god, oh god, I’m going to be sick!”
Lilith sobs into Michael’s wings, while Michael is just sort of stuck standing there, because Lilith is gripping one of his four heads with both hands as she cries, while the other three are looking around for help, intensely confused because he, of course, was talking about bringing God back, and now he has no idea what to do to get out of this uncomfortable social situation that he does not understand.
And thinking about Lucifer and Lilith and Michael and Adam as parallels, it gets me asking these questions about how things would go if the roles were reversed. Would Adam willing lay down his life to free Michael from the cage? As a fanfiction writer, I enjoy the idea of saying yes.
In fact, I’m a little enamored with the idea of a parallel world where everything is flipped. Where it’s Michael in the box, and Adam running around breaking seals, Adam on that final, fateful night—after having had his moment of doubt in which he’d lured Ramiel into a secluded spot and offered to stand down and nearly banged Ramiel’s brains out in the bargain—but that’s all past, and now he’s firm in his resolve. Adam standing in front of a mirror—but instead of the white gown that Lilith wore, Adam’s in a black suit, dressed as if it were his wedding day, though he’ll never see his groom. And Raphael appearing at his elbow, looking concerned—instead of some random follower of Lilith’s, and Adam telling Raphael to be happy. Everything is going to be okay.
And it’s Adam reclining against the alter, all serene anticipation as Ramiel—the second Prince of Hell, who rejected his place in the succession because all he wanted was to live out a quiet life with his fishing gear, well away from the Pit and the Life—comes storming into the church with Zachariah at his side, assuring Ramiel that he’s trained for this, he can do it—only to have Azazel come bursting in behind them, shouting, “NO, RAMMY! IT’S WHAT HE WANTS!”

Let Us Rise by Marquis Phenex
Let me tell you a tale
That happened long ago
You may already know the legend
But still I shall speak it so
Back before the Earth was made
Before life-giving air
Far within the cosmos
The Lord God was there
Some say he’s an omnipotent being
Appearing as a wise man
One with his son Jesus Christ
The whole universe is His plan
 Others say that’s not so
That He doesn’t exist at all
While some say He’s actually Satan
Here to answer our call
Or perhaps God is the universe itself
Where atoms and molecules collide
The truth is, none of us know
I’ll let you decide
No matter the case, at the Creator’s own pace
Heaven emerged so bright
Cyan skies, fluffy clouds
And a realm of pure delight
 Endless room to fly around
There stood palaces of gold
Dancing angels were abound
Songs were sung and stories were told
No one ever grew sick or old
The Angelorium was a marvelous place
Where we had our council meetings
Were we discussed comings and goings
And where we did our greetings
We enjoyed feasts and epicurean dishes
Golden fruits and divine fishes
Divine wine that flowed so fine
Only the greatest place to dine
Yes, our Father created all of us
Lucifer was the first
The bright and perfect Morning Star
Seeking knowledge to quench his thirst
Shortly after, his siblings were created
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Jophiel, Zadkiel
And many others more
The Archangels and the various hierarchies
Kept cosmic order, law, and records to store
 Then one day, Father decreed
His new adventurous plan
He decided to conjure a new experiment
And he called his creation “Man.”
At first glance, there was nothing special
About this new species’ birth
A land of earth and sea appeared
And He called it “Earth.”
 You humans were truthfully
Little more than ants to us
But we peered further in
And you were quite marvelous
 Thousands of years of evolution
You grew and you learned
But you also stole natural resources
None of which you earned
 Humanity was quite weak
Mortal and flawed in mind
But you also had a great ability
To create more of your own kind
As we’re immortal, we have no need
To create more of us
No fears for thousands of years
That’s the way it has been, thus
Now many of us were neutrally pleased
As far as humanity would go
But while we felt this way
For Lucifer it was not so
 Lucifer was God’s favorite
He took his status in stride
A new change after many centuries
Conjured a spark in his pride
 Everyone has flaws
God does as well
Everything is not as it seems
It is best not to dwell
 A million new thoughts
Had crossed the morning Star’s head
Why are these humans so special?
When they’ll all just be dead?
We angels were here first
Our superiority is first in line
If humans will not improve themselves
Then with this, I am not fine.”
But God favoring humans was not the only reason
That Lucifer felt a sudden chill
Like cold after a warm season
All seemed eerily still
Besides being mistrustful of humans
Flying out of range
Lucifer noticed other things not seen before
Things that were quite strange
All his brethren performed their duties
Like clockwork through and through
It was the same process day after day
That’s all they had to do
No questions were asked at all
No self-expression was allowed
The true kind that frees your mind
Feelings that make one truly proud
Stern rules to stifle creativity
Damnation threats for the smallest mistake
And after many years of submission
It was too much for him to take
Lucifer strode to his Father and said loud and clear
“What is the meaning of this? What is it that you fear?
Why do you create random beings,
Pets in a lab to analyze?
And why do you impose standards on us
Before our very eyes?”
And He replied, “Listen Son,
“There is reason in everything I do,
To keep angels and humans in good harmony. You don’t have a clue.
To prevent chaos, traditions are set in their ways,
Be an obedient son and do your duty all your days.”
Lucifer was about to do just that
But he knew in his heart
That it wouldn’t be right
To let pure happiness be torn apart
 Now here’s a major event
You may have heard before
Did it happen? No one is sure
The first Heaven-Hell War
 Now some say Seraphim Lucifer
Gathered his brethren and chose to depart
From paradise for they
Sought freedom and joys of the heart
But the common version does tell
Of how a prideful Lucifer did rebel
Gathered 1/3 of the angels to his side
Led by his jealousy and pride
(‘Tis not the story version to which we abide)
Tired of his Father’s current rule
He sought his throne and his dream to reign
Like Zeus overthrew his father Chronus
A vicious cycle again and again
But alas, his efforts were in vain
 After three days, Michael implored
His bother to stop, to which he ignored
“End this madness,” said he,
“Live our peaceful lives. Obedience is key.”
As Lucifer replied, “I find you are blind,
To what is really going on,
No matter what is asked of you
You grovel and submit and worship in song
Without regard to how you truly feel
I don’t want to fight you either
But if we could enlighten all worlds together
Be more than El’s believer.”
With tears in his eyes, Michael shook his head
“I’m sorry, brother, but instead,
The rules must be followed
Heaven has no need for your greed
It’s a hard truth to swallow
To keep our land in perfection
To support our Lord every day
By His decree, I must send you away.”
With a swoop and slash of Michael’s sword of fire
Lucifer endured burns most dire
Sharp relentless pains never-ending
And before long, he felt himself descending
Further and further down
As trumpets let out their sound
Lucifer and his comrades
Fallen, defeated, banished
Flames licked at their wings
Until all their glorious feathers vanished
In curls of sparks and ash
They screamed in agony and despair
They plummeted fast
Like meteors crashing toward the Earth
In flashes of light they fell and fell
Until landing in the fires and brimstones of Hell
They got up with shaking legs
Battered and bruised everywhere
But as they were immortal
They had survived their fall then and there
Lucifer knew that something was amiss
As he stood in the dark Abyss
Was this His plan all along?
To let them fall as a warning
Of what happens to those in the wrong?
With nowhere left to roam
The darkness was now their home
Fiery lakes, smoke and monsters appeared
Filled with suffering and things they suddenly feared
In this new environment
Adaptation was a requirement
Survival of the fittest and strong
The weak would not last long
So the fallen angels morphed in their sorrow and wrath
Gaining animal-like features
Sharp fangs, claws, dark powers
Soon becoming demon creatures
No knowing what else to do
They flew and slew and cities they blew
Losing control of their former selves
The same would happen if it were you
With the last of his grace
Lucifer scanned the place
And knew what to do
With Beelzebub at his side
Regaining his pride
He spoke to his subjects
“Rise or be fallen forevermore!
When opportunity dies, create another door.
Wounded and weary, our paradise lost
But the price of free will is always worth the cost.
Don’t believe me? Follow me now.
Our former glories will be restored somehow.
After we’re all settled, I have a plan
To help decide the future of Man.”
 Soon enough the capital Pandemonium
Was erected in gold and precious gems galore
Towering pillars, sigils on every door
The palace larger than the tallest demons
Allowing everyone to fit
The citizens had their human-like flaws
But never knew how to quit
 The Infernal Council was founded
Structure more grounded
Demon in various ranks
Of kings, dukes, princes, judges
Everything in between
Adapting to times unseen
  Now I believe
You know the Christian story of Adam and Eve?
Mankind’s first fall and sin
A loss or a hidden win?
Adam’s first wife Lilith
Wanted to be equal to him
But Adam was told she had to submit
Things were looking grim
Lilith soon left Eden, refusing to come back
Representing sexual freedom
But no freedom there was but a lack
God then made for Adam from his rib
A more submissive partner Eve
Both loved each other very much
But were also new and naïve
Around the natural Eden
They could roam mindlessly unbidden
But the Tree of the Knowledge
Of Good and Evil was forbidden
A forbidden tree with forbidden fruit
Right in plain sight
If God forbade them to eat from it
Guarding it would have been a method more bright
 Then legends say
Satan appeared as a snake
Tempting Eve to eat the apple
Leaving destruction in their wake
Eve then gave the apple to Adam
In some versions, fully knowing the cost
He purposefully ate it too, not wanting Eve lost
With flaming swords in hand
Angels bid the first humans away
From paradise’s golden gates
To the rest of the world that day
Michael then told Adam
Of biblical events to come
While God punished
Eve with future pains of labor
And both with death until it was said and done
Did Lucifer and Satan (or alternatively Lilith) desire
For mankind to fail and decay by fire?
Or perhaps to your surprise
The devil alternatively whispered to Eve:
“Stop living lies.
Eat the fruit and you’ll be free
To live through joy and despair like me
Or wander around in brainwashed bliss
To remain stagnant with knowledge to miss
You are destined to fall and die
God has made it so
He’s testing you and knows you’ll fail
Resist temptation to no avail
Man and woman are made to be equal
Though God says man must rule
If you’re content to be sheep
No free will to keep
Consider yourself a fool
You will know as much as God does
But in a different way
For in time you’ll learn that you’re your own God
You’ll make the most of every day.”
Now none of us angels and demons
Are against God and the faithful per se
There is wisdom in every religion
Goodness in Christ, originally that way
Religions ancient and new
Originally promoted humanitarian kindness too
But as time went by with more power to take
Ideals and values became shallow and fake
Killing, raping and converting thousands more
Endless bloody crusades, witch hunts, destruction of land
Wars over faith, no logic to understand
An unhealable hole in humanity, too grand
Suffering, racism, bigotry
All in the name of their God, you see
Their God that humanity corrupted
After concern for fellow men was brashly interrupted
The real God and Jesus would never wish that it was so
But dominant history wins and there you go
We demons are against bigotry, the ignorant
And all those who try to shut down
The basic human rights of free-will and responsibility
Authoritarianism must drown
It is not Satan who promotes sinful indulgence
And harsh authoritarianism
It is only your social systems
That keep you imprisoned
And as if our historic fall wasn’t enough
Many of us endured
Our entrapment by King Solomon
Thus more events concurred
He put 72 of us in a vessel
Abused us with blasting rods
Made us build temples and do his will
Like he was one of the gods!
He had wives and gold and luxury
A part of history, an occult trend
But before long, time went on
And he too, met his end
We demons were eventually freed
To aid magicians and roam
From Earth to Hell and back again
But neither realm our true home
We hope to return to heavenly paradise
Where angels, demons and humans
Can someday be themselves as one, so true
(Though it’s hard at times to collaborate with angels, too)
Much of humanity has been brainwashed
But the angels much more so
For while some humans can question what they see
Angels don’t know how to say no
How can they? Their purpose is to serve
God and some humans, more than they deserve
Like us demons, angels are powerful
Loving liberal science, magic and song
But be rude and make the wrong move
They’ll let you know why you’re wrong
Angels, demons, other gods and spirits
Fascinated by humanity
We’re just here to watch the result
Whether a blessing or a calamity
Despite your mundane lifestyles
We want what is best for you
To help humanity grow and see progress that’s true
Like the angels we used to be
And still are inside
We are divine on our own
And take conflicts in stride
God and Christianity are not to blame
It is merely society’s institutions
That puts your race to shame
Thousands of years of corruption and conversion
It’ll take a thousand more for healing
But alas, alternate views and change for the majority
Of humanity is not appealing
To truly get into paradise
Save yourselves in the here and now
Indulge responsibly, do not bow
Respect living things as sisters and brothers
Even though it may be hard
Cherish and forgive the ones you love
But always stay on guard
However you see God or Mother Nature or the Universe
Make Him proud by
Doing the right thing
And do more than try
You are His treasured experiment
Will you succeed in the temporary trial of life?
Supernatural entities can harm or help you out
But you must first help and protect yourselves, no doubt
Pray as you may, conjure and chant
We are the guides to your self-will and rant
Yes, a few of us see humans
As insignificant as bugs
But many of us can be your friends
Even giving spiritual hugs
We demons serve under Lucifer, Satan, Lilith, etc.
We have a culture of our own
Some of us are demonized pagan gods
Stolen from what was first known
Most of us are fallen angels
A perilous transformation to embark
But through it all, we survived the fall
And learned to embrace the dark
There’s dark and light in everything
Balance is a must
With your world and ours being complex
How do you know who to trust?
  We endured a horrific fall
We lost all we had
But the ignorance of angels and humans
That’s what drives us mad
You see, black and white is not in the right
Some angels are friendly and warm
But others will push you away
If you don’t follow the norm
There are good and bad demons too
Nothing like you’d expect
Us demons are wise and open to you
Provided you show respect
We’re not afraid to keep you on your toes
If it means you’ll learn good lessons
As everything goes
   Keep demonizing us demons
And the poor and flawed without care
We’ll just watch as you discriminate to death
And destroy yourselves in despair
Or for those open with a change of heart
Who know that none of us are truly apart
Rise from the ashes of atrocity
And fly within the flames of fellowship
If you dare to fully embrace yourself
All aspects flawed and fine
Through black flames,
With honor and trust, call our names…
We are the Ars Goetia, Demonic Divine.

I see your Crowley-as-Raphael headcanon and I raise you: Crowley as Lilith (and Aziraphale as Samael)
((This is based on the version of the legend of Lilith where she became the Serpent of Eden))
Tumblr media
I mean.. if that's not Crowley...
So if you don't know who Lilith is, here's a screenshot that explains it pretty well. There's different variations on the legend, but this is I think the most common one:
Tumblr media
The most widespread version of the legend goes on to describe how Lilith transforms into a demonic night creature, often portrayed as the Serpent of Eden. Now the legend above also mentions Lilith being partners with Samael. Who's Samael?
Samael is interesting because he's not a typical angel.
Tumblr media
Samael is an angel of darkness, and occasionally portrayed as a fallen angel, but he's not a demon.
Now, we know from Good Omens that Aziraphale fought in the ancient angel wars and led a platoon. Samael is a chief of a group of warrior angels. Samael also is described as a defender of people and of the world. None of the other angels in Good Omens seem to care about the world, in fact when Aziraphale does work with Crowley to save the world, it's by going against what he's been told. This fits with Samael's narrative of a fallen, not fully angel not fully demon who protects humanity.
Tumblr media
As for having grim and destructive duties, we don't know a lot about what Aziraphale's duties on Earth were, but we do know he was at the ark, and seeing as the flood was caused by heaven, it's reasonably safe to assume Aziraphale was there to monitor it, which definitely falls under grim duties.
The part about Samael being a fallen angel but still a servant of the lord is what really convinced me. Because really, Aziraphale should be fallen. Crowley fell for asking questions and hanging around the wrong people, meanwhile Aziraphale hung around Crowley, did hell's work, and outright disobeyed heaven's orders numerous times. Samael is a fallen angel who still lives in Heaven and serves the lord, meanwhile Aziraphale lives in heaven and serves the lord, but should be fallen.
Tumblr media
This article goes on to say that although he /condones the sins of man/ he remains God's servant. Well what's the reason Aziraphale disobeyed Heaven's orders? To protect humanity. Because unlikes the other angels, he cares for humanity. Even after Adam and Eve are cast out by God, Aziraphale still helps them by giving them the flaming sword.
Tumblr media
/As a result of Adam’s sin, both of them came and confused the whole world, both the Upper one and the Nether one./
Another proof that Aziraphale could be an angel of death is that the flaming sword which he gave to Adam and Eve, later becomes intertwined with the persona of War.
Lilith and Samael, a demon and an angel, neither fully conforming to their respective sides; Lilith a human who became a demon only to ensure her freedom, and Samael, a perhaps fallen, perhaps not, angel of death.
Crowley, the serpent of Eden, the demon who did not fall so much as saunter vaguely downwards, and Aziraphale, the angel who should have fallen, who genuinely cares for humanity despite what he’s been told.
This is just a half-cooked theory I came up with while doing some research, but hopefully I’ll be able to improve on/add to it in the future. Also, let me know if you agree with this theory or at least find it interesting, I’ve seen fanart of Crowley as Lilith but as much as I looked I wasn’t able to find any other theories/headcanons for Azi being Samael

Lilith… The First Wife of Adam?by
Kyle Butt, M.Div.
Harrison Chastain
The first chapters of the book of Genesis give us a “play by play” analysis of many of the main events in the creation of the Universe. The text explains that God created everything in the Universe in six, literal days. Included in His “very good” creation (Genesis 1:31) was the formation of the first man—Adam. After God breathed life into his nostrils, the Bible states that God did not want man to be alone, and so the Creator brought into existence a helper comparable to Adam. The Lord caused a deep sleep to come upon Adam, and He fashioned Eve from one of the man’s ribs. This well-known narrative is often one of the first Bible stories children learn.
Over the years, some people have questioned the legitimacy of the story of the first two people on Earth. They have suggested that Eve was not Adam’s first wife. Uninspired Jewish folklore says that a woman by the name of Lilith was Adam’s first wife instead of Eve. The text known as The Alphabet of Ben Sira narrates the mythical story of Lilith, explaining that God originally created her out of the ground just as He created Adam. But when Adam explained to her that he was to be the leader and head of the relationship, Lilith flew away from him. Adam then proceeded to report the incident to God. God sent three angels to retrieve her, and she refused to return (Alphabet of Ben Sira, 2015). [NOTE: The date of this work is unknown, but scholars generally agree it was written some time in the middle ages around 1000-1300 A.D. see “Alphabet of Ben Sira,” 2008].
When the Lilith legend is evaluated closer, however, it becomes obvious that the story is a fabricated myth unsupported by historical fact. It is impossible to nail down when the myth started. Her name derives from a Sumerian word that means “female demons” or “wind spirits.” Lilith’s roots can be roughly traced back to Babylonian demonology, where she is said to have terrorized pregnant women and preyed upon infants, but even that is uncertain.  Feminists in today’s society often praise her for attempting to break free from the shackles of Adam’s rule in the Garden of Eden. In most expressions of her myth, she represents seduction, chaos, and ungodliness (Gaines, 2014). There is no historical proof that Lilith existed on the Earth, much less that she was Adam’s first wife who God formed in the beginning.
THE BIBLE IS INSPIRED AND ACCURATE
In order to validate the claim that the Lilith myth is true, adherents insist that Genesis chapters one and two are separate Creation accounts. God supposedly created Lilith from dust at the same time as Adam in one Creation account, and Eve was formed from his rib as the Bible describes in the other. When the words of Genesis are surveyed in greater detail, this claim cannot be reasonably maintained. There are not two different accounts of Creation in Genesis one and two (Jackson, 1991). Genesis two simply provides more details regarding the Creation account of chapter one. Genesis one and two form a perfectly complimentary account of the same events. The biblical text specifically mentions Eve as Adam’s wife and states that she is the “mother of all living” (Genesis 3:20). Just as conspicuously, the text does not mention any other wife, nor does it mention other mythological female demons or gods such as Ashteroth, Hera, Ishtar, or Lamia. To artificially insert such a character into the text would be disingenuous and misguided.
When the words of the Bible are evaluated, they have been proven to be factually accurate. The historical facts, archaeological finds, and written records of famous historians “live to tell the tale.” Not only have people such as John the Baptizer and King David been shown to be real, historical figures, but also countless narratives in the Bible have proven to be historically true. In fact, nothing in secular history has ever been shown to be factually true that disproves anything in the 66 books of the Bible. That fact, coupled with numerous other evidences, proves these books to be accurate and inspired (Butt, 2007). Since the Lilith story contradicts the biblical account of Creation, and since we can know that the biblical account is accurate and inspired, then we can conclude that the Lilith myth cannot be true and must be understood to be a myth fabricated over time from human imagination.
CONCLUSION
Does the myth of Lilith match up with the biblical record? Despite the beliefs and personal opinions of some, it does not. There is only one account of creation in the Bible, and the name Lilith is not found in the Creation account. Her name is associated with myths, folktales, and demonology that is based on superstition and imagination, not historical events. The Bible’s account of creation has passed every test of scrutiny and has proven itself to be historically accurate and divinely inspired. Any person or group of people can make up a story, but God’s Word has stood the test of time, and it remains the standard.
