!!!! STREAM THE WILDS SEASON TWO PLEASE WE NEED A SEASON THREE!!!!

now onto more of my thoughts about the boys, spoilers incoming: i think the 'uselessness' of the boys is down to the fact that:

a) their personal storylines are less fleshed out than the girls' storylines, they have way less backstory (henry's and seth's flashbacks in one ep, bo and scotty's flashbacks in one ep) and way less interview time, and the interviews are useless??? cause they don't tell anything... with the girls there's depth there and telling who has figured out that somethings shady but the boy's interviews might as well have not been there??

b) some of them feel like clear parallel to the girls, but not in a good way? they don't have the same authenticity and likableness due to it... they made scotty/toni + ivan/fatin such clear parallel but it didn't add anything we didn't know before??

c) the boys don't have a found family storyline, at all. their bonds are not as strong, and their "having fun together" scenes are almost immediately ruined by 1. extreme awkwardness or 2. someone being angry

d) they constantly try to bring in new things to immediately make characters not likable again? and unlike the conflict they introduce with the girls, which arises from in-character reasons, the boys' conflicts feel very??? strange??? and the sides they choose as well. why does seth get redeemed so suddenly only to then immediately get irredeemable again??? it feels so off. why does josh suddenly act like a douche while his storyline was so interesting and important?? why is the only openly gay male the one who goes out and gives fire to seth (a rapist)??? these things make the boys island stories hard to watch, and easy to skip through...

obviously not all of it was bad, there are some great moments and great rep, but also the lack of gay rep on the island itself was kind of disappointing, so all in all i hope that s3 will show that this was just an inbetween setup of everything that is to come...

just started the second episode of season two of the wilds, kinda like it by far. right now, out of the new characters, I like raf, seth and josh, and the kirin guy is giving me vibes of imogen from heartstopper from some reason. also raf and seth giving me gay vibes, and I'm pretty sure raf is going to kill someone at some point.

i understand the boys where in a shitty situation and whatever, but them all slowly moving back to seth and allowing him to lead them again/be part of the group after what he fucking did made me so fucking angry. like??? u trynna tell me there wasnt a third option if u didnt wanna be with kirin? hell no.

KiriHen (Kirin x Henry also I have no idea what’s their ship name is either)

◦ Kirin realized his feelings a little while after Seth got exiled; Henry realized it while he was watching him go off on the raft with Raf and Seth

◦ Kirin would flirt with Henry and Henry would think he’s just messing with him

◦ Kirin at first thought Henry was just ignoring his advances but he realized Henry just didn’t realize he was flirting

◦ Henry thought Kirin looked like the straightest man he ever seen so he didn’t take Kirin’s flirting seriously

◦ The thing Henry grew to love about Kirin was that he never treated him any differently and never said anything about his manner of speech than he did any of the other boys

◦ Post island Kirin needed help with chemistry and Henry took up the task of helping him which led to them getting closer

◦ Henry was once just rambling on about something he was interested in and Kirin let it slip how cute he thought he was (which made Henry freeze up cause he DID NOT EXPECT THAT)

◦ During the summer Ivan (who decided to help both the boys out cause the pinning was killing him) bought Henry a plan ticket to Seattle so Henry can spend more time with Kirin

◦ Henry spent more of his time over Kirin’s house while he was visiting and Kirin loved how domestic it was starting to feel like

◦ When they finally get together, Kirin usually greets Henry with a forehead kiss

◦ Henry traces his fingers along Kirin’s arm whenever they’re in a crowd to keep himself calm

◦ Whenever they’re sitting together Kirin’s arm is always either around Henry’s shoulder or around his waist

◦ Henry massages Kirin’s shoulders for him whenever he can just tell he’s having a long day at work

◦ Whenever he senses Kirin needs to rant, Henry quietly sits beside him and waits for whenever Kirin feels like he’s ready to start speaking

◦ Kirin kisses Henry’s finger tips and his palms whenever they’re laying in bed together

◦ Henry wears Kirin’s old lacrosse jersey around the house so much that he just forgets that it belonged to Kirin in the first place

◦ As a birthday surprise Kirin bakes Henry his favorite cake and buys him a new drawing notebook with an artist pencil too

◦ Henry would slightly stress a bit whenever Kirin’s birthday was close because he wanted things to be perfect for him and would plan weeks ahead

◦ Kirin always give him the more adoring look imaginable whenever Henry is explaining anything or just randomly singing

◦ Henry would tug Kirin down towards him whenever he wants to give him a kiss (because I know Henry is pretty short compared to Kirin like really short)

◦ Henry bought them matching necklace and bracelet when their anniversary rolled around and Kirin takes him to see MCR the next week

◦ Henry’s mom was a bit surprised when Henry told them they were together but welcomed Kirin to the family nonetheless (she was impressed with how good he was with a grill)

◦ Henry loves kirin’s dog and usually she would hop up on the couch just to sit on his lap

◦ Since kirin does most of the cooking around the house, Henry made it his task to do most of the cleaning and dusting 

◦ Henry decorated their shared bedroom for the proposal just for Kirin to proposal to him an hour before Henry planned to do it

i really feel we could have done without the boys backstories. i dont think they were that necessary for their group dynamic. and some of them (kirin and ivan's!!) did more harm than good. also wth was that seth x thatgirl sex scene ?? please just give my girls more screen time

yeah that was really weird especially when we find out later that he was abusive to her?? it really didn’t make any sense. at least the sex scenes in s1 were for plot or character development

i also don’t think they were necessary, though maybe that’s bc they were all done really poorly except raf. i liked raf’s backstory a lot. the problem was that there were EIGHT episodes. like that’s nothing. so it was rushed and incomplete and would have been better without

Ok but Kirin x Martha is such a galaxy brained thought because they actually are both really protective and caring of other people like Toni and Josh and I feel like they would go well together. And I feel like how s2 ended with Martha wanting to recover pre shutdown and reach out to people when she got home and with Kirin still being protective but not 100% trusting after the group welcomed back seth because he looked like he thought Raf follow seth on the boat and could be really interesting.

YES! especially especially about martha being protective i feel like bc a lot of the other characters are bolder than her this trait of hers is really overshadowed.

i totally feel like a part of marthas healing journey (not just in the future but as weve already seen with the other girls like fatin) is her making new connections with people outside of toni and i think that kirin is honestly one of the more interesting choices for who might take up that position.

i cant decide what exactly theyre going to do with martha initially next season, like if theyll even explain how exactly shes gotten better after being catatonic for so long or how thats still affecting her now but i see her coming thru all of this even more secure in herself and trusting her instincts about the world around her more, which im hoping manifests in like, saying when things are too hard or overwhelming for her and her being able to finally step back for a while, especially since theres more of them to pick up the work. in any case im very excited to see where they go with her and i pray they dont skimp on her arc at all next season.

kirin not trusting people tho!!!! is going to be very very interesting next season in my opinion. since hes kind of accepted the idea of not being the guy who bosses everyone around already i wonder what exactly hes going to be like, first with the boys as well as when theyre with the girls. like will be see a change in his personality at all? ive seen people acting like he'll keep up the frat bro persona but thru the development weve seen of him so far i cant help but feel like that will fall away eventually? whether that means hes like. sweet and earnest now or just a more quiet and observant person remains to be seen obvi and i think they could really go in any direction with that. i doubt hes prepared to put all of his confidence into the girls right away, if only because the boys dont trust each other the way the girls do so i cant see them, especially kirin, trusting the girls very well at the beginning either.

i swear i have more thoughts on this but i cannot for the life of me articulate them but i just feel like they could have a very "real recognizes real" kind of feel to them.

Raf Simons’ Latest Adidas Ozweego Collaboration Is Out Now

Bulky, running-inspired sneakers with exaggerated midsoles are all the rage right now — just look at Balenciaga fall ’17 or the upcoming Adidas Yeezy Runner for proof — and one of the original trendsetters of the style is back with a new design. Designer Raf Simons’ numerous Adidas Ozweego collaborations helped popularize the bulky look. The sneaker’s latest manifestation is the Ozweego Bunny, which combines a black leather upper with a gum outsole. Details are where the Raf Simons x Adidas Ozweego Bunny excels. The upper is embedded with jewel-like details and features text such as “FOLD GUSSET THIS SIDE ONLY” and “KEEP DOUBLE LACED TO HOLD FIRMLY,” design traits reminiscent of Simons’ fashion designs. As has been the case with many of Simons’ sneaker collaborations, these likely won’t be around for long. I think her and Bo’s soft, gentle personalities and their love for those they deem family makes them a better match.
