SLIPPING FROM MY FINGERS !!

RAIDEN EI X GN! READER | BACKSTORY SPOILERS, AND MENTIONS OF SCARAMOUCHE/KUNIKUZUSHI WORD COUNT : 3k

i wrote this yesterday during ei's birthday, sorry not sorry for coming back out of nowhere and writing angst <3

"Y/N!" 

Ei yelled as she tried her best to catch up to you, tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to fall. You on the other hand, just kept walking, never stopping for a second. You didn't look back nor stop, and you didn't want to. At least, that's what you told yourself. 

There was a part of you that was eating you away, telling you to stop, and all you did was ignore it like a little child, covering their ears during a conflict. 

She halted, catching her breath — and before she could realize it, the tears she tried so hard to hold back started streaming down her delicate face, "Y/N PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!" Ei yelled so desperately, her once soft and velvety voice; now hoarse. 

She truly didn't want someone to slip away from her fingers again, just like Makoto, Saiguu, Sasayuri, and Chiyo. She couldn't allow it. Especially someone like you — someone like you that she loved so much. 

You halted, but why? You didn't even know. "Why should I listen, Ei? After all, I warned you didn't I?" you said bluntly before continuing, "I warned you about the consequences didn't I? but why didn't you listen?" you finished, looking looked back at an Ei whose head was facing the ground, so full of regret and sadness — but it wasn't just that. She was full of anger, towards you, and herself. 

Oh, if only she could turn back time... would this have happened? But she knew that if she begged even the God of time, It'd be impossible.

Ei wiped her eyes, "I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry I-" strings of apologies fell out of her mouth, each word sniffled between words before she fell to her knees, "Please — come back, I'll do anything Y/N! I know... I know I'm too late but please —" before she could finish you cut her off, "Ei... I'm sorry, but I've made my decision." hearing that made her eyes widen in shock, 

"What do you mean by that..?" you turned your face away from her, before answering your question. "I'm leaving." your tone was so cold, as cold as ice. Just like the Tsaritsa's and the homeland she governed over — Snezhnaya. 

"I don't wish to be in a nation where my 'leader' is nothing but a puppet. I cannot accept the Raiden Shogun, Ei. Have you seen what happened to Kunikuzushi? Where he is now?" 

Silence. She didn't reply, because she knew just what happened to him. Thrown away, like an abandoned doll — nothing but a heartless little toy, but now... He's joined the Fatui's forces, seeking revenge. Seeking for a heart the Ei took away from him herself. 

"See?" you spat, glaring at your former god, "Y/n..." she couldn't stop repeating your name, it was all she could say. She felt so helpless against you — once the shadow that covered, protected, and fought for her and Makoto — now slipping away from her very hands. 

"I'm leaving. I will only step in if Inazuma is in danger." you stated coldly, "But until then... Goodbye." Your heels clicked against the ground, and this time, 

She didn't stop you and allowed you to slip away from her fingers. 

Ei wondered one last time, just what was this eternity she once promised you?

i think its funny if they all hate eachother for stupid reasons like arlebina is mad at rhice for letting him have caffeine past 7pm. abysslillies is mad at arlebina for not letting him go to natlan with them for vacation. rhice is mad at abysslillies for taking credit for their birthday gift etc etc.

for his ballet performances (side hobby) they all fight for front row seats and nearly pulverize the theater. meanwhile the new viewers are very very confused because there is currently 1! very large abyss monster, a liyuen goddess with a rocket?? launcher???
