Gasoline drops in Brazil, hits record highs elsewhere in Latin America

Brazil's gasoline differential to NYMEX RBOB futures dropped 31 cents/gal June 9 even as the NYMEX futures and cargo assessments elsewhere in Latin America reached record highs.

The Platts assessment for Mexico delivered CIF gasoline rose $2.90 to $172.42/b, while Ecuador's RON 93 CIF increased $3.15 to $180.58/b, both records. Like most of Latin America, they closely tracked the record rise in US gasoline prices. The NYMEX July RBOB futures settled 5.43 cents higher at $4.2762/gal, the highest front-month settle for NYMEX RBOB since the contract was launched in October 2005.

But in Brazil, which has an active spot market for gasoline, several sources said a full cargo is going for 75 cents/gal below the NYMEX July RBOB futures, a 31-cent drop for Brazil's differential, leaving gasoline CFR Suape assessments down $10.74 at $148.10/b and Santos down $10.86 at $149.34/b. Combination cargoes -- half diesel, half gasoline -- were at a 45 cents/gal discount to the RBOB futures, according to sources.

"Usually, the gap between full and combi cargoes is not that much, more like 4-5 cents per gallon. But these days are not easy days," a Brazilian trader said. "But considering local prices, the arbitrage is still really closed even at minus 75 cents. So, it's kind of better for traders to buy less volumes and pay higher prices. Brazil gasoline is not easy to trade."

Thị trường hàng hoá là gì

Thị trường hàng hóa là một thị trường thực hoặc ảo để mua, bán và trao đổi các sản phẩm chính hoặc sản phẩm thô. Hiện có khoảng 50 thị trường hàng hóa trên khắp thế giới. Hàng hóa Chính tạo điều kiện thuận lợi cho việc kinh doanh khoảng 100 sản phẩm chính. Hàng hóa được chia thành hai loại: hàng lâu bền và hàng mềm. Hàng hóa cứng thường là tài nguyên thiên nhiên cần được khai quật hoặc khai thác, chẳng hạn như vàng, cao su và dầu, trong khi hàng hóa mềm là các sản phẩm nông nghiệp hoặc động vật, chẳng hạn như ngô, lúa mì, cà phê, v.v. đường, đậu nành và thịt lợn.

Cách thức hoạt động của thị trường hàng hóa

Nhà đầu tư có thể đầu tư vào hàng hóa theo nhiều cách khác nhau, chẳng hạn như bằng cách mua cổ phiếu của các công ty có hoạt động kinh doanh phụ thuộc vào giá hàng hóa, hoặc quỹ tương hỗ, quỹ chỉ số hoặc phát hành ETF tập trung vào các công ty. Đầu tư trực tiếp vào các hợp đồng tương lai, đây là một cách buộc chủ sở hữu phải mua hoặc bán hàng hóa với một mức giá xác định trước và giao nó trong một khung thời gian xác định.

Mục đích thị trường hàng hóa?

- Thị trường hà hoá, là môi trường thực hiện các giao dịch kinh doanh của tất cả các công ty và nhà đầu tư trên cả nước, hỗ trợ người mua và người bán đàm phán, giao dịch thông qua các phương tiện viễn thông hiện đại. - Rút ​​ngắn quy trình giao dịch của các tổ chức, chủ thể kinh tế về hàng hóa, cách thức sản xuất và dài hạn. Người lao động phải quyết định thông qua các quyết định về giá cả. - Thị trường giao thương, cho phép người mua và người bán cạnh tranh bình đẳng  với khối lượng thương mại lớn hơn hoặc nhỏ hơn phản ánh rõ ràng quy mô của thị trường, dù lớn hay nhỏ. Nó cũng xác định xem hàng hóa và dịch vụ bán buôn được mua hay bán. Số lượng và giá cả  do quan hệ cung cầu quyết định. - Khách hàng hiện tại và khách hàng tiềm năng có cùng nhu cầu hoặc mong muốn một cách cụ thể về thị trường hàng hóa và muốn tham gia để thỏa mãn nhu cầu và mong muốn đó.

Hàng hóa trên các thị trường hàng hoá trên thế giới

Thị trường hàng hóa bao gồm 4 nhóm hàng hoá như sau: - Nhóm ngành nông sản: là nhóm ngành chiếm tỷ trọng lớn nhất bao gồm các mặt hàng chính như ngô, lúa mì, đậu tương,… - Nhóm ngành nguyên liệu công nghiệp: gồm các loại hàng hóa như cao su, cà phê, đường,… - Nhóm ngành kim loại: các mặt hàng chính bao gồm bạc, đồng, quặng sắt,… - Nhóm ngành năng lượng: sản phẩm như dầu thô WTI, khí gas tự nhiên, Xăng RBOB…

Sàn giao dịch hàng hóa hiện nay

- CME – Sở giao dịch hàng hóa Chicago – cung cấp giao dịch nông sản, tiền tệ, chỉ số, tỉ giá.. - ICE – Sàn giao dịch liên lục địa – cung cấp giao dịch dầu, năng lượng, sản phẩm nông nghiệp.. - LME – Sàn giao dịch kim loại Luân Đôn – giao dịch kim loại - TOCOM – Sàn giao dịch hàng hóa Tokyo – cung cấp giao dịch kim loại, năng lượng, nông nghiệp… - NYMEX – Sở giao dịch hàng hóa New York- cung cấp giao dịch năng lượng, kim loại Các nhà đầu tư có thể tiếp xúc với thị trường hàng hóa bằng cách đầu tư thông qua một công ty liên quan đến hàng hóa hoặc bằng cách đầu tư thông qua các hợp đồng hàng hóa do các sàn giao dịch có uy tín cung cấp. Sàn NYMEX là gì? 

Sàn Nymex ( New York Mercantile Exchange) là sàn giao dịch hàng hóa New York. Đây chính là một trong những sàn giao dịch hàng hóa lớn nhất thế giới, có trụ sở đặt tại thành phố New York. Theo wikipedia “Hai chi nhánh từ ban đầu của Sàn là New York Mercantile Exchange và New York Commodities Exchange (COMEX), nhưng hiện tại hai chi nhánh (công ty) đã sáp nhập. Công ty New York Merchantile Exchange, Inc. là công ty đại chúng bởi vì công ty mẹ của nó là NYMEX Holdings, Inc được niêm yết trên Sàn giao dịch chứng khoán New York tháng 11 năm 2006, mã chứng khoán NMX.” 

Lịch sử hình thành sàn Nymex ? 

2/2003: New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) ký vào bản hợp đồng thuê tài sản với NYMEX để chuyển tới trụ sở ở khu Trung tâm tài chính sau khi trụ sở ban đầu của NYBOT đã bị phá hủy trong vụ khủng bố 11/9/2001

17/3/2008:  CME Group đã ký thỏa thuận sáp nhập NYMEX Holdings, Inc. trị giá 11.2 tỷ USD tiền mặt và cổ phiếu và hoàn tất việc tiếp quản vào tháng 8 năm 2008. Hiện nay cả NYMEX và COMEX đều hoạt động dưới hình thức Thị trường hợp đồng được chỉ định (DCM) thuộc CME Group

Đến năm 2016, dưới sự bảo trợ của CME Group, bao gồm CBOT và COMEX, NYMEX đã chuyển sang dạng giao dịch điện tử hoàn toàn.

Sản phẩm giao dịch trên sàn Nymex là gì? 

Sàn giao dịch Nymex là nơi diễn ra các hợp đồng tương lai và hợp đồng quyền chọn  về hàng hóa năng lượng và kim loại, và những loại hàng hóa khác được mua và bán trên sàn hoặc thông qua hệ thống máy tính giao dịch điện tử. Giá cả được niêm yết cho các giao dịch trên Sàn là cơ sở để tính toán giá cả trên khắp thế giới.

Nymex được điều hành bởi Ủy ban Giao Dịch Hàng Hóa Tương Lai (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), một cơ quan độc lập của Chính phủ Hoa Kỳ. Đây là một trong số hiếm các sàn trên thế giới vẫn duy trì hệ thống Open Outcry, ở đó người giao dịch được dùng lời nói và dấu hiệu bằng tay trên sàn giao dịch.

Nymex có nhiệm vụ thúc đẩy thị trường tương lai cạnh tranh hiệu quả và bảo vệ nhà đầu tư khỏi sự thao túng, lạm dụng và gian lận.

Các mặt hàng năng lượng được giao dịch thông qua Sở Giao dịch Hàng hóa Việt Nam là Dầu thô WTI, Xăng RBOB, Khí tự nhiên, Dầu thô WTI mini đều được niêm yết trên sàn NYMEX. 

Thời gian hoạt động của sàn Nymex: 

NYMEX mở cửa giao dịch từ thứ Hai đến thứ Sáu, từ 9h30 Sáng đến 4h00 chiều (giờ ET). Những ngày lễ liên bang, Sở giao dịch hàng hóa mới tạm dừng hoạt động.
