ALL WAS WELL -- or so they believed. for years, the wizarding world has flourished under the order of the phoenix and those who fought against the dark forces of voldemort; little did they know that a rapid series of events would change everything. first, kingsley shacklebolt is torn open by fenrir greyback. second, harry potter is poisoned by augustus rookwood posing as hermione granger. third, the death eaters are back, and with vengeance on their mind. this world is divided between the pureblood elite and the reformed resistance. battle lines have been drawn, and it’s only a matter of time before wizards must choose for whom to fight. the fate of the war lies in the unblemished hands of the new generation - but they haven’t quite made up their minds. saving the wizarding world is already looking like a lost cause. which side will be victorious this time? it’s up to you to decide.

PLOT

everyone thought it was over when he-who-shall-not-be-named was killed. the boy who lived was once again legend. this time, for vanquishing the evil for good. it was months worth of celebrating. a celebration that was long-awaited and well-deserved, for there had been precious little to celebrate for years. but nevertheless, everyone was celebratory. the wizarding world was set back on its feet. one of the first changes after he-who-shall-not-be-named’s death, was some changing in the ministry of magic. pius thicknesse was immediately impeached, on the grounds that he was confirmed under the imperius curse. thicknesse was replaced by kingsley shacklebolt, who made a magnificent minister of magic for his time. harry potter came to work with the ministry in its auror office, which gained endless notoriety afterwards. the order of the phoenix was, thankfully, no longer needed, and was disbanded.

families were born and raised happily during this time. people were oblivious to the fact that discord was slowly creeping among them. doubt and fear were being sown as small little incidents cropped up, too numerous to be coincidences. a few inconspicuous deaths here and there, unpredictable weather changes, disappearances… yet nobody was willing to address the estrangement. why should they? he-who-shall-not-be-named was gone. these must be coincidences. there was no dark wizard around to cause them.

wrong.

but that was what they wanted everyone to think. the easier everyone was lulled into a false sense of security, the better. little did they know, that underneath the nose of the new ministry, the death eater’s were quietly reforming themselves. they rallied around the three strongest. lucius malfoy was easily the driving force. he maintained the motivation that the death eaters needed to keep going. he kept them seething with anger and resentment for the losses they had suffered. fenrir greyback kept them in line. when they got cold feet, or began acting funny, one look from fenrir immediately put them back on track. rabastan lestrange was the brain of the operation. he kept the ideas flowing and the secrecy intact. it was a strong leading force, and an even stronger following.

it wasn’t long after their forming that they finally made their first major attack. he wasn’t hard to kill. under the new regime, he had barely any security. his office wasn’t locked, and he had nobody watching out for him. in fact, there was not even a fidelius charm on his house. he made it so easy for them. fenrir did it. best to leave a calling card, if you will. so the public would know in the morning just who they were dealing with. and best to kill him at night when nobody was out and about to hear. not that they would hear anything…

kingsley shacklebolt couldn’t do as much as breathe once fenrir greyback had torn his throat out.

the ministry was in an upheaval once again. the minister was found dead in his home the next morning. and there was doubt about the cause. werewolf bites left very characteristic signs. however, like many hoardes of people when nervous, the wizarding community passed it off as a werewolf out of control, that had no idea what he was doing. they didn’t see it for the calculated murder that it was. but they couldn’t stay blind-sided for too long. lucius wasn’t going to wait too long for the next act. intermission was only a few weeks.

security was tightened. of course. but that didn’t stop them from getting into the ministry. rabastan was a skilled wizard with prodigious skill. no amount of security could stop him going into and out of the ministry when he pleased. and besides, there was no security wizard at the door after hours, so a little polyjuice potion went a long way after six in the evening. at about seven forty five on a thursday evening, rabastan strode into the ministry of magic, and took the lift down to the auror’s office. but nobody saw rabastan walking between the dingy little cubicles. they only saw one hermione weasley, looking very harassed. with her, se brought a bottle of firewhiskey. after a short explanation of a disagreement with her husband, she poured herself and harry some firewhiskey. once harry had finished his glass (hermione had been ‘too stressed’ to finish her own), hermione had calmed down enough to thank him for his company, and leave. within moments, harry potter was dead, and hermione was nowhere to be found.

the truth finally had to come out. death eaters were among them. the real hermione granger had admitted (under veritaserum) to being with ronald that night. ronald had attested to the same. it could be nobody but death eaters. because of this new situation, the order of the phoenix has reformed. overage wizards are bounding at the experience to fight this new hoarde and win back the times of peace they so recently enjoyed.

witches and wizards of all ages are either in the order, or otherwise, working in opposition. if you are not with them, are you against them?

[ SUMMARY ] it’s 2029 and the third wizarding war is upon us. the death eaters versus the reformed order of the phoenix - and our fate lies with the new generation. blood ties are being broken; friendships tested. a new world is rising from the ashes, but will it be for the benefit of wizards and witches everywhere or the rise of a dark dawn?

RULES

this rp is likely to contain mature themes, and thus, i don’t feel comfortable accepting any muns or muses under the age of 21. that being said, while we might have some mature themes in this roleplay, this does not include taboo plots such as incest, sexual assault, pedophilia, etc. this is probably another one of those common sense rules, but i just want to make sure we’re all on the same page! in addition, sensitive/important topics such as mental illness, disabilities, abuse, gender, race, sexuality, drug and alcohol misuse, etc. are not allowed go under-researched or poorly portrayed.

deceased face claims, face claims who have committed a serious crime, face claims deemed highly problematic, and face claims who do not wished to be used are banned from this roleplay. additionally, i have made the decision to also ban face claims that trigger any members, as I want this to be a safe place for everyone. if you are a member who is triggered by a fc due to their past actions, please don’t be afraid to come to me, and i will be happy to ban them for you. your comfort is very important to me. try to use your best judgement, but if you aren’t sure whether your face claim will be welcome here, please feel free to send in a message! i’d be happy to discuss it with you.

our activity limit is one week, so if it’s been over one week since i’ve heard from you, your role will be reopened. however, i’m very lenient with hiatuses and semi hiatuses, so please don’t be afraid to ask for one if you need it! and if you are removed for inactivity, you’re always welcome back when you have more time on your hands!

i’m really aiming for a friendly ooc community. we will have an discord chat where members are welcome to chat and plot, and i’ll be watching the starter tag very carefully to ensure that no one is being ignored, so just know that i won’t tolerate bubble roleplaying. i understand that muses are finicky, but it’s always awful to be the odd one out, and i don’t want you to be afraid to come to me if you feel left out. i really want this roleplay to become a welcoming place.

to encourage a welcoming ooc environment, every member is required to reach out to at least three people you don’t already know to plot connections. i know it can be intimidating to ask if someone wants to plot, but in order for a group to thrive, we have to interact with each other! everyone must also like all the character introductions that are posted – there will be a tracked tag, so it’ll be easy to keep up with them. in addition, you must respond to two open starters before posting an open starter of your own. if you reblog an ask meme, you must pay it forward and send out memes to the other people who’ve reblogged it. i will be reminding you of these rules once we start, and i might add onto them as well.

please treat everyone with respect, kindness, and civility. in the unfortunate event that there is ooc drama or issues with another member, i encourage you to approach me, so i can help solve it! that’s what i’m here for, after all.

there is no character limit. however, please remember that you will be held to the activity limit on all of your muses and try not to take more than you can handle.

at the minimum, every other muse you take must be a person of color. and of course, we will not tolerate whitewashing, so if your character is canonically a poc, your fc choice must be a poc as well. but remember that representation is not about fulfilling quotas; i expect research and care to be put into these characters to avoid playing into harmful stereotypes.
