no thoughts only tsukasa and the way he emphatically includes anyone without a second thought

he may be just the littlest bit dense and overwhelming when interacting with others but he has that bright-eyed enthusiasm and willingness to accept others wholeheartedly that reminds me of how younger kids are. and not in a “wow he’s so childish and immature” way. he’s just so BRIGHT and unapologetically himself in the way that kids who are beginning to experience the world tend to be. and that’s such a perfect contrast to the rest of the cautious heart class.

despite his childhood loneliness, his personality wasn’t dampened and he’s honestly not what you’d describe as “cautious” lmao. he kinda skipped that phase where kids become self-conscious of their actions and suppress themselves for the sake of fulfilling expectations. whereas the others in the aptly named cautious heart class have aren’t as true to themselves in some way and are working to be more so

mafuyu, trying to find herself again and obviously having her “good girl” persona

honami, working to stand for her own opinions and ideas instead of always appeasing everyone

kohane, learning to be more out there and to stop worrying about what everybody thinks so much

haruka, always being in idol-mode and realizing that it’s okay to take breaks from that. (her story is different from shizuku’s and how shizuku previously had to hide her clumsiness and whatnot to be the perfect idol in Cheerful*Days, but I think that naturally as an idol, there’s going to be discrepancy between Haruka as a person and Haruka in the eyes of others/fans. this is very apparent in the miya girls school festival event where a girl tells haruka that she’s realized haruka isn’t some unapproachable professional idol that people think her to be. saki inviting haruka to the event committee provided haruka the opportunity to relax and show the less serious, regular-high-school-girl side of herself)

at first glance, tsukasa might seem like he’s an outlier in the cautious heart class. but in actuality, he fits so well because he’s just so great at encouraging the rest of the class to throw away any “cautions” about fitting into a certain expectation and just be themselves instead. obviously he himself doesn’t seem to care much about what others think of him, so he shows the others that it’s not so bad to put yourself out there

hence why he seems to be leading the class in the MV (when I watched it, I initially found it odd that he was so prominent lmao. I have thoughts on rui’s placement in the MV as well but i feel like that’s gonna turn out to be another long ramble LMAO)

So basically this au is an attempt to be somewhat close to the Torpe play as I can (unlike my other Dazzling au where it just uses the designs from the cards). WxS are an unnamed band that performs in a small vaguely British city, Rui as their leader. The Virtual Singers are shape-shifting beings that can appear in different forms to help out the different groups, such as secretly being the animals that helped Torpe have someone to listen to him play. The characters are all somewhat older than their canon counterparts (~22-23), purely so they can do things such as have jobs and live alone.

Tsukasa Torpe-Tenma is the "protagonist" of this story, the most recent addition to Rui's band after proving himself as a capable pianist. He's somewhat shy and uncertain, yet spirited, and he can be somewhat grumpy at times. Before joining the band, he played piano at the town's tavern often, and he still does from time to time. He has a few peculiar magical abilities, such as light manipulation and the ability to talk to animals, though he hasn't quite realized that these things are abnormal. He lives at the edge of town with his two younger siblings: Saki, a conductor on a mysterious magical railroad, and Toya, a singer and florist. Most people simply call him "Torpe" outside of his siblings and people who have known him since he was a child.

Rui "Danchou" Kamishiro is the leader of the band, who plays the flute and is the main one that gets them venues to perform at and writes the songs they play. He had initially given up performing after his music was seen as too "weird" but meeting Emu revitalized his dream to be a part of a band. He's kind and compassionate, the crossroads between a dreamer and a realist. He's somewhat teasing at times, but it's all in good fun to make others smile. He enjoys writing in his spare time as well. Most people call him Danchou (director/bandleader) outside of a few people who knew him before he took on that role.

Emu Otori is the co-founder of the band alongside Danchou, who plays various percussion instruments for them. She'd always wanted to make people happy with music, as her family owns a large corporation that manufactures instruments (think something like Yamaha but old). She came across Danchou performing when he thought no one was around and found herself drawn to him and his music, deciding that she wanted to start a band with him. She's cheerful and optimistic, always willing to try new things to make others happy. Despite her corporate background, she's creative and passionate, always willing to stand up for her dreams. She lives in a large house outside of town with her family, but occasionally stays with one of the others to stay closer to them.

Nene Kusanagi is an accordion player for the band, recruited by Danchou when Emu encouraged him to start a band with her. She used to perform often, but freezing up while with the first band she was in led her to give up performing. Danchou and Emu managed to encourage her to try again, thus she joined the band, marking the last edition until Torpe. She's quiet and somewhat sharp-tongued, but she greatly cares about others deep down, and is incredibly passionate about music. She also dabbles in writing her own music sometimes, but much less so than Danchou. She is Danchou's childhood friend, and one of the only people who calls him Rui.

The two Virtual Singers that the band, mainly Torpe, interact with are Hatsune Miku and "Fuuga Kaito", the bartenders of the tavern that also occasionally play music (Miku plays the harmonica, Kaito the trumpet). They are incredibly supportive of the band and their goals, and often end up helping them in subtle ways. Outside of the forms they take on when with the band, they also occasionally shapeshift into animals that help Torpe out from time to time, no matter how annoying they may seem to him.

All of the other units exist in this world as well, each represented by a different card set, I might make posts about them as well if people want them.

Wonderlands x Showtime Main Story Summary

TL;DR: Tenma Tsukasa, an egotistical aspiring actor, auditions for a cast member position at Phoenix Wonderland. He is picked up by Otori Emu, an optimistic dreamer, at the run-down Wonder Stage. They encounter the mysterious director Kamishiro Rui performing alone within the park, who upon invitation into the troupe also brings along his shy childhood friend Kusanagi Nene.

The four of them work to put on a show, but disaster strikes when Robonene runs out of battery halfway through the show. Tsukasa yells at Nene out of frustration, sparking Rui to leave the troupe.

Tsukasa goes to the SEKAI to reflect, where he finds Usa-chan, one of the plushies, crying. Through his attempts to cheer her up, he finally remembers the true reason he wanted to be a star: to make others smile, especially his dear younger sister.

Tsukasa apologizes to Emu and Nene, who both decide to rejoin the troupe; however, Rui is not convinced. The three of them put on a new show in the SEKAI that ultimately causes Rui a change of heart, officially re-forming Wonderlands x Showtime.

Chapter 0: The story begins with Tsukasa narrating about the show he had seen as a little kid with Saki, sparking his dream to be a star that makes everybody smile. After a hard cut to the present day, we find Tsukasa preparing for an audition at Phoenix Wonderland. Saki comes up to talk to him, which eventually reaches her asking why he wanted to become a star in the first place. Tsukasa can't remember. Suddenly, his phone flashes with the new Untitled song, transporting him to SEKAI. Miku and KAITO introduce themselves and the place, but Tsukasa denies it all.

Chapter 1: Tsukasa arrives at his interview. He introduces himself with his standard stardom speech, shocking the interviewers but catching the ear of a certain onlooker. A short time later, Tsukasa receives his acceptance letter with arrogant pride. Both Rui and Nene overhear him talking to himself about it, but don't interact. Kigurumi (Mascot) leads Tsukasa over to the Wonder Stage, much to the latter's disappointment. Suddenly, Emu leaps down from the rooftop and reveals she's the one who invited Tsukasa.

Chapter 2: Emu had specially requested Tsukasa after he failed the initial audition. Tsukasa is less than impressed with the current state of the run-down stage and lack of an audience. He tries giving Emu his autograph before leaving, but Emu tackles him instead, saying she had made a promise to do shows at this stage specifically. Suddenly, the stage projector switched on to reveal Miku. When trying to call and resign, Emu finds Untitled and clicks it, sending the both of them to SEKAI.

Chapter 3: Tsukasa encounters Mikudayo, who soon reveals herself to be the actual Miku. She pushes him into the show tent, where KAITO and Emu are preparing for a show. The Virtual Singers explain the concept of SEKAI. Tsukasa insists he knows what his true feelings are, but the Virtual Singer's aren't so convinced. Usa-chan, a talking stuffed rabbit, also introduces herself. Tsukasa panics and passes out.

Chapter 4: After regaining consciousness, Tsukasa demands to leave the SEKAI. Emu promises to help find Tsukasa's phone only if he promises to do shows at the Wonder Stage with her, to which he reluctantly agrees. Back in the real world, Kigurumi attacks Tsukasa for "kidnapping" Emu, intimidating him to the point where he fears going back on his word to help her out. Tsukasa and Emu then set off to find more cast members. They find some small robots, who lead the pair to Rui's performance.

Chapter 5: Rui begins telling the tale of an alchemist who loves theater. However, his story is cut short by Security chasing him out. The next day, Tsukasa learned the strange performer is a new transfer to his school. Rui had been waiting for him on the rooftop, following his movements with a drone. Impressed, Tsukasa offers him a spot in his new troupe as director. Rui declines.

Chapter 6: Rui explains that he wants to do the shows he wants to do, ones that exist to make the audience happy. Tsukasa affirms that he'd perform any role given to him "to 12,000% satisfaction". Rui catches a glimpse of Nene walking down below. He decides to accept the offer, if and only if Tsukasa would take one other member. Later, Tsukasa takes Rui to the Wonder Stage and introduces him to Emu. The two instantly hit it off.

Chapter 7: Rui introduces the other two to Robonene. Tsukasa is hesitant on the concept, but after Nene's display of skill, he reluctantly agrees to accept her in (though he's more worried of losing the limelight than anything else). Afterwards, Rui and Nene chat about the new adventure in front of them.

Chapter 8: Tsukasa and Saki chat. When things take a melancholy turn, Tsukasa begins reciting script lines to cheer her up. Saki thanks him and talks about how he always used to do shows like this when they were little, especially with a small bunny plushie. The next day, Tsukasa brings the rest of the troupe the newly completed show script, along with a proposal for a troupe name. It was bad and immediately shot down. Through Emu's ramblings, Rui suggests naming their troupe after the different worlds the stage can become through showtime. Emu adds an x to represent the multiplying wonderlands, giving birth to Wonderlands x Showtime.

Chapter 9: Rui runs over the script with everyone and suggests some extreme stunt ideas, much to Tsukasa's horror. Nene tells Emu about Rui's history with this, and how most people avoided him afterwards. Despite the outlandish ideas, Tsukasa and Emu warm up to them. Later, Nene comments on how much happier Rui looks now. The next day, the troupe works together on the show. Emu suggests going to "that place" to look for inspiration and sends the four of them to SEKAI.

Chapter 10: Rui immediately begins analyzing the SEKAI and wanders off. KAITO gives Tsukasa and Emu advice while Miku greets the real Nene hiding somewhere else. Nene's too shy to have a conversation, however. Before the four leave SEKAI, Miku again questions what being a star means to Tsukasa, who's true feelings are still unknown.

Chapter 11: Wonderlands x Showtime finishes rehearsals for their show. Emu thanks Tsukasa and the others for performing shows with her here at this stage. Rui and Nene stay late to rehearse a little longer. The next day arrives, and the show begins.

Chapter 12: The play starts off as a hit! Halfway through Nene's song, however, Robonene loses power and crashes into Tsukasa. They try their best to recover, but any momentum they had gained was lost. The play was ruined.

Chapter 13: Tsukasa lashes out at Nene for the mistake. Rui tries taking the blame instead, while Emu desperately tries keeping the peace. Despite Rui's insistence, Tsukasa continues his outrage. Nene runs off. Rui tells Tsukasa that "you can't stage great shows alone", and that Tsukasa's selfishness means he will never become a star. Rui officially quits the troupe. Later, Rui goes to apologize to Nene for making her join the troupe. Tsukasa goes to the SEKAI for advice.

Chapter 14: Tsukasa runs into Usa-chan crying. Though his dance only made things worse, he managed to distract her by immitating Emu's wonderhoy. He spins it to form an improv play and invites Usa-chan to join along, to which she happily agrees. After playing for some time, Tsukasa notices the name "Saki" written under her foot. Tsukasa finally realizes the SEKAI is full of things from his memories, and a memory of him cheering up a sick Saki in a hospital room. Tsukasa finally remembers his true wish to make others happy, and how grateful he is to have met the other members of Wonderlands x Showtime. Tsukasa resolves to set things right with them.

Chapter 15: Tsukasa finds Emu by the ferris wheel, so they ride together. Emu tells Tsukasa about how her grandfather had built Phoenix Wonderland and the Wonder Stage specifically, but had sadly passed away a year prior. Emu's family would save the Wonder Stage if Emu managed to attract enough visitors by the end of spring break, but since their show only made everyone sad, she'll have to say goodbye to it. Tsukasa tells Emu that she's a part of everyone needing to be happy and asks if they can try to save the stage one more time. Back at the Wonder Stage, Nene went to retrieve Robonene and reminisces on how much she'll miss theater again.

Chapter 16: Emu and Tsukasa find Nene singing on the stage. Nene runs away, causing the two to chase her around the park. After Emu catches her by jumping from a gate, Tsukasa formally apologizes for what he said and asks if she would want to rejoin the troupe. Nene tells the two about how she had messed up the lines of her performance when she was young and became too anxious to stand on the stage anymore. Tsukasa tells her that making mistakes is how we get better, and that he's truly sorry for yelling at her for trying to learn. Nene officially rejoins the troupe.

Chapter 17: Nene reveals she and Rui are neighbors and takes the two to meet him. They find him continuing the story of the alchemist on the street: the alchemist had found acceptance through their shows, though short-lived. The townsfolk and alchemist simply thought differently, so they left, leaving the alchemist all alone once again. Tsukasa tries to apologize to Rui, but he doesn't believe he's changed yet and leaves. Emu and Nene don't want to give up on him, either.

Chapter 18: Rui walks around the streets, remembering the fear and harsh words of his past classmates over his show ideas. Suddenly, Emu, Tsukasa, and Nene ambush him and send them all to SEKAI. They begin a play made specially for him. A traveling troupe consisting of an arrogant showman, stubborn clown, and shy songstress meet a lonely alchemist and invite him to the troupe. The alchemist builds a doll for the songstress to sing behind and other inventions. However, when the doll broke during a show, the showman lashed out and broke apart the troupe. A cute fairy had reminded the showman of his true desire to make people happy through shows, driving him to make ammends with the rest of his troupe. Though the clown and songstress agreed to come back, the alchemist didn't believe him. The three decided to make a play to show him their true feelings. KAITO asks Rui what he thinks will happen next, to which he questions if they thought this would really work through just a monologue. Fortunately, the alchemist is now here to help them improve.

Chapter 19: Suddenly, Tsukasa's phone flashes as Untitled changes into a song: The World Hasn't Even Started Yet. Tsukasa asks if the others would sing it with him, since the song is just as much theirs as it is his own. Afterwards, he thanks Miku and KAITO for their help before returning to the real world. Emu finally tells the others about the fate of the Wonder Stage, but they realize there's still hope to save it. They put their show back together and begin saving the stage once again with an enthusiastic wonderhoy!

Chapter 20: All of their remaining shows went spectacularly, even though they had to do so many in a row. Their efforts had paid off, however; the Wonder Stage was officially saved! Wonderlands x Showtime decides to keep putting on shows there, too. The story ends with Emu and Tsukasa's laughter echoing in the distance, all the way into SEKAI.

[Rui Card Story]

Virtual Singer Chapter 1 (Pre-Chapter 0): Miku, KAITO, and the plushies prepare a show to help Tsukasa remember his true feelings. Miku runs off to put on the Mikudayo costume to match with the plushies. There's one of KAITO, too, but he refuses to put it on. Tsukasa finally arrives in the SEKAI, but Miku is now stuck in the Mikudayo costume.

Virtual Singer Chapter 2 (After Chapter 4): Miku is disappointed she couldn't put on a show with Tsukasa and Emu, so to cheer her up, KAITO puts on a magic show for her. KAITO teaches Miku some magic tricks after. Miku is a bit sad that the show has to end, but KAITO reminds her that without an ending, there can be no beginning.

Virtual Singer Chapter 3 (Concurrent with Chapter 14): Usa-chan is upset Tsukasa didn't remember her. Miku and KAITO decide to put on a show to cheer her up, but it doesn't work to well. Tsukasa arrives in the SEKAI halfway through, but before the Virtual Singers can greet him, they find a crying Usa-chan already talking to him. Miku goes to help, but KAITO stops her, opting to watch things play out instead.

Virtual Singer Chapter 4 (After Chapter 20): Wonderlands x Showtime goes to SEKAI to thank the Virtual Singers for their help, and to ask if they could watch one of their shows for inspiration. They decide to put one on in the flying train. Emu and Miku fall out the window, so Tsukasa, KAITO, Rui, and Nenerobo save them.

(very outlandish pick but i want it all the same)

Kimi no Taion by KutagawaP - Ichika & Saki this could probably be a full leoni cover BUT just LISTEN,,, this song is SO middle school ichisaki to me!!! it's so them! and it's so sad and bittersweet and it makes me emotional and they would sound SO GOOD singing this together. okay? okay.

Pajamy by Iyowa - Airi & Shizuku me and my lyrics relating to character arcs smh... ANYWAY! this song is literally just. Shizuku and Airi being scorned by the idol industry and AAAH IDK! Ironina by NILFRUITS - VBS this song could probably also work for 25ji but just hear me out the vibes would be so cool for a VBS song right? ALSO Akito alt and maybe An alt! :) the lyrics made me think of Akito so much he just HAS to have an alt.

Tiny Bunny by youman - 25ji literally the lyrics fit them so well, I can imagine exactly who would sing which lines. I also just love youman and this song. this song is so good and i think that 25ji would do an amazing job covering it! :)

Literacy by Wotaku - VBS tbh i don't really care who in vbs covers this I just want it... I think they would sound really really good. maybe anhane and akitoya alt vocals? i don't know but I really like this song and also it would be cool to have more wotaku songs in game!

UFO by Kikuo - Emu & Rui I don't know how likely a kikuo wxs cover is but. this song is so dreamy and the lyrics dude!!!! literally a song about lonely "aliens" looking for companions. this is SO emurui coded. this is one of my dream covers for them tbh. also ik i haven't been mentioning vocaloids BUT the vibe fits wxs luka so well to me i want her on this song with them. please just imagine this cover it'll change your life I promise.

Electric Angel by Yasuo - Minori & Haruka WOULDN'T THIS COVER BE SO CUTE??? like the song sounds super cute and i would love to hear them sing this... if anyone other than mmj covers this song I'll feel betrayed. ALSO THE LYRICS. SO minoharu coded! this might possibly be a bit of a pull from nowhere but I want it anyway

Amatsu Kitsune by Marasy - L/n I think this would be a really cool cover for them to do. I love this song, I think Saki specifically has a chance to really shine in this cover. IDK! I just like this song and the vibes fit leoni... also references to space and celestial stuff :)

Let's Die Together in Kurashiki by SLAVE.V-V-R - WxS although the lyrics do not fit them AT ALL the whole vibe of the song is SO cool. I would love to hear wansho do a cover like this! I especially think Rui and Nene could sound really cool in this, maybe they could get an alt vocal :) IDK this would just be a neat cover to hear

Baimei Baimei by Maiki-P - Mafuyu & Ena I have some newfound hope for this cover because of Maiki-P recently doing a comm for wxs! I just think the lyrics fit mafuena really well and also they could sound SO COOL singing this. it's just a really good song that I like a lot and I think a mafuena cover for this could sound amazing!

Rafflesia by Utsu-P - VBS okay this pick seems kinda random but please stick with me here I have a vision. THEY WOULD SOUND SO COOL SINGING THIS. literally i cannot imagine a world where vbs would do bad with this song. especially An, if we do ever get this song I totally want an alt vocal for her. ALSO the lack of Utsu-P in game is a CRIME.

Lula by n-buna - 25ji (i could not find an official upload (or reprint) for this song help) this song feels very bittersweet to me and I don't know I just think it would be a sweet nightcord cover. this song is really wonderful sounding and I would love for them to cover something like this. they've done similar songs before so it's not impossible

Scissorhands by Nem - Tsukasa & Rui guys guys please this song is so them like you don't get it I need this cover. "This hand of mine cannot even caress your cheek. If that's the case, just how can I protect your smile?" LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS??? not to mention they would sound AMAZING with a song like this. this has potential to become my favorite ruikasa cover over fixer it could be so good... this might be a bit too overtly romantic for ruikasa but idk.... I can hope and dream.

Magical Girl and Chocolate by PinocchioP - MMJ I tried not to pick too many super popular songs (like ones i see on wish lists a lot) but i want this cover so bad. this song fits mmj so well and I love pino and mmj so it would be a dream come true for me tbh. I think they would sound really cute singing this, okay?? Haruka and Airi could have alt vocals for this :)

CH4NGE by Giga - Kohane & An really just another song I picked because I think it sounds cool and An and Kohane could totally do this justice. they could do such an amazing cover of this song honestly I've been wanting it for a while I think it would sound super good!! also songs like these are peak vbs vibes to me.

Tenkou Zen'ya by ChinmariP - Ichika & Honami really this is a very Honami coded song to me. Ichika is just here because solo covers barely exist and leoni doesn't have any songs without Ichika (I would've put Shiho otherwise). but also the vibe of this song very much fits with how other ichihona covers sound and I think it sounds really nice.. it's bittersweet and reminds me of main story/middle school Honami, i think it would be a neat cover.

1. the character everyone gets wrong

i hate to be cliché'd but TSUKASA. i admit i used to be partly guilty of it before i realized that tsukasa isn't really empty inside, he keeps being a parallel to mafuyu by not only being actually full (? inside but being like. really full inside. tsukasa has several personas and he acts very differently depending on who he's interacting with and they're all sorta tsukasa to a degree but they're also not really? tsukasa please stop being worrying or be but have this acknowledged pls

anyway, people tend to portray tsukasa with no nuance at all, he's either a happy careless guy or so sad that he could put every N25 member combined to shame. as i said he's REALLY worrying but he genuinely really likes what he does and has passion and drive. he's just team "i can't be sad if i don't acknowledge i'm sad so i'll just leave the issue there until i forget it :)"

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

i am inclined to say kanade x mafuyu because i still genuinely can't see how they'd have a healthy romantic relationship, so when i see content of the ship while i'm on misc tags i'm like

and they make every single thing kanade does about mafuyu. i mean, canon already sorta does that, but even when it's not about that, they MAKE IT about mafuyu. do these guys even like kanade? do they see her as her own character? i wonder...

10. worst part of fanon?

TSUKASA ADOPTING EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER EVER. they took him saying toya is like a little brother to him (more on that later) and ran. a marathon. and a half. around the moon. and back.

tsukasa only has one sister, and it's saki! toya tenma is a sweet sentiment, really, but that's where it should've stopped.

everything i've seen about kanade tenma is super mischaracterized too. i know they haven't talked much, but i feel like their dynamic wouldn't be like that at all if they were to live together. and i was right about the mafuyu-tsukasa dynamic way before they even met, which obviously means i'm always right (?

minori tenma is the least frequent, minori shinonome is something i've seen a lot and that i don't really get either, like, is it because minori's hair is brown-ish? is it? and what about minori tenma? is it because tsukasa cheered her up that one time? i'm the first one asking for more actual leadersquad interactions, but hc-ing them as siblings just because of that...

people who go "yeah minori tenma/shinonome real because she's marrying tsukasa/saki or akito/ena" are the backbone of this fandom

25. common fandom complaint you're tired of hearing

please stop treating toya x tsukasa/saki shippers as if they're the scum of the earth i promise you they're perfectly good ships

i feel like i say this a lot but just because tsukasa sees toya as a younger brother, it doesn't mean that toya feels the same. he has never said it in the game (afaik) and he actually changes the subject rapidly whenever tsukasa mentions it. saki has never said anything regarding seeing toya like that, so it's safe to say he's just a childhood friend to her.

speaking of! i've also seen people proclaim that nene and rui are "sibling coded" which. doesn't make sense either? like if you see them like that, it's fine! same with toya tenma and the rest of the sibling hcs, don't let this rando on the internet stop you, i'm not the biggest toya x tsukasa fan myself, but one thing is that and other is going around people's posts policing what they do or don't post. i don't think you're going to get anything more than annoy the op, really.

really curious that i've never seen people say this about leo/need! i wonder why! except this one time someone asked if it was okay to ship shiho and honami because of that one 1koma where shiho almost calls honami "sis" which is also its own can of worms

Ok, I love the April Fools' swap units a lot. We get to see dynamics that are either less focused on or haven't gotten any content at all, and it's cool to see characters who don't really have a reason to interact hanging out in a universe where things went a bit differently.

But Fanastasia Squad just doesn't do it for me. It feels forced and like they just took the bare bones of Tsukasa's story, put it in the Vivid Bad Squad setting, and threw Rui and Akito in just for the sake of it. (Toya still has a reason to be in the vbs equivalent. If we go off the fact Rad Weekend seemingly never happened here, Akito has no motivation, but Toya still wants to go against his dad.) Plus, it all just feels like a lazy attempt to justify the Ifuudoudou cover for April Fools.

Anyway this is essentially just a long winded way of saying that I have spent the last hour thinking of a way to split these guys up which makes sense, and now I'm sharing what I came up with.

(This does not affect the wxs and n25 equivalents because I love both of those groups to death, and I found I liked my ideas for alternative members for Aoharu/Friends and YUME YUME JUMP! more.)

Aoharu/Friends: Akito swaps with Airi

Ok, so originally, Saki invites Airi to join because she looked up to her while in the hospital. Saki does still invite her, but she has to decline due to her trying out street music with an old acquaintance's sister. Airi does, however, point Saki in the direction of a potential drummer. Ena gave up on art after dropping out of the art school led by her father's old friend when she hit a slump. Shortly before this, however, her younger brother Akito had dropped out of his school soccer team for feeling like he would never be able to put in the effort needed. To take his mind off of things, she dragged him to the summer festival and they watched the concert there.

Akito fell in love with music and convinced their mother to get him a bass guitar. When Ena dropped out of the art school, Akito attempted to play her a song to cheer her up like the festival cheered himself up. Ena could only smile from her brother's attempt, and she began to drum along on whatever she could find. When their mother saw, she got Ena a drum kit for her next birthday. (No, I didn't fix the Shinonome household. Their dad would just probably not care as much since it isn't art Ena is pursuing.) Saki searches out Ena from Airi's advice and finds the siblings having a makeshift performance in a park. She approaches with a request to join their band. Both are sceptical until Saki mentions Airi, then Ena is on board and drags Akito in.

Akito is still a perfectionist, and Ena still feels like she isn't doing enough at times, and the siblings still banter a lot, but overall, they get along much better, and Ichika and Saki find it entertaining. There is still the bit of Ena not wanting to disappoint her underclassmen. Akito is the one that mostly pushes them in practice.

YUME YUME JUMP!: Tsukasa swaps with Shiho

I was originally going to have it be An swapping with Tsukasa, but I decided against it. Tsukasa aims to be a world star. However, his most recent auditions have all been for bust. As he left Phoenix Wonderland with another rejection (because he probably wouldn't have gotten the job if it wasn't for Emu, I think), he walked into Shizuku. The pair catch up since they hadn't seen each other since middle school before Shizuku joined Cheerful*Days, and Tsukasa learns that Shizuku had quit and joined a different agency.

This leads Shizuku to mention they were looking for potential temporary members, and the next thing you know, Tsukasa has joined an idol group. Joining the pair is An Shirashi, the daughter of a (retired) popular street musician who instead took more interest in idol work and was delighted to hear of a possible temporary job and Kanade Yoisaki, the would-be composer for YUME YUME who got convinced to join the temporary members.

Tsukasa, An, and Shizuku are all ready to hype up Kanade whenever it is necessary. She isn't used to getting out much, and she needs stamina. In return, Kanade is inspired by them to write her new music. Tsukasa finds he loves idol work and considers it a possible way to become a star.

The new Vivid Bad Squad equivalent: Push-On Technique (Shiho, Airi, Toya, and Rui)

Toya Aoyagi was sick of classical music, so one day, he ran outside, bought a bunch of street fashion, and began to perform in a corner of Vivid Street. One day, he runs into fellow street performer Rui Kamishiro. Unlike Toya, Rui focuses more on telling stories. However, the two take an interest in each other and form Unruly Technique, a duo who tells stories through street music.

Meanwhile, Shiho Hinomori falls into the street music scene while wandering the streets alone after school. She had stumbled into a live house and had been offered a job there, which led to her listening to the performers and wanting to do something similar. Vivid Street quickly falls in love with her. She hears of another upcoming performer, Happy Everyday, who seemingly got her name from a certain ex-TV celebrity. Shiho learns that this IS the Airi Momoi, aka Happy Everyday, and the two team up as Push-On, a duo who will continue to pursue what they love, even in a different form.

These two duos come together after facing against each other in an event and hitting it off. They decide to form a quartet with Toya as the unofficial leader. As mentioned, Rad Weekend never happened. Ken is still a big figure in the scene, however, and his cafe is a frequent stop for the group.

I keep getting into cheerful live teams where four of us are Airi, Saki, Minori, or Mizuki and then there’s one random Rui and it’s making me very happy because I’ve been thinking about theoretical friend group that’s those five plus Shizuku and An that I refer to as “girl’s night” (almost canon… cmon Minori and Saki need to interact with him more!)

u & rui requested to be put in the same section (for shenanigans) and the pw runners were making a last ditch effort to try and monetize the wonder stage (as per emu’s request, even though she herself is busy with hopeful*cosmos so she can’t participate) so they just. all got shoved in there

shizuku’s like “cool ! i kinda missed the stage anyways so this is basically being an idol but without the idol part :D” (she quit cheerful*days or whatever before the story begins)

akitos like “really. i really have to be a THEATER KID.” (he does it anyways he needs money)

akito and shizukus dynamic would be so funny. he cannot believe that there are older sisters that act like this

ena goes to miyagirls now because literally EVERYONE ELSE IN VIVID NOTE GOES TO MIYAGIRLS so it wouldnt make sense to me if she didnt

i was thinking about switching haruka to kamikou to avoid. minori and saki being her fans but shes fine they die down eventually

ena and airi are still friends! and ena and an are friends somehow i havent worked out the logistics of determined dreamers

If it wasn't obvious, I really like the sibling dynamic of Tsukasa, Saki and Touya.

I mean, everything lines up! Their birthdays have 8 days apart (Saki-May9th, Tsu-May17, Touya-May 25), which I can only imagine is hell for buying presents for for anyone who knows all of them.

Have you seen what their wikis say about each other?? Touya is still just as concerned for Saki, even if he can't help as much and Tsukasa literally changed the course of his life!

Plus, Touya being added in would make Saki the middle child. That's. something-

But I really like hc'ing them all being way closer, with more events of them hanging out like in Touya's initial 3* or the Hina event!

Imagine Touya peacefully going about his day and then getting a bunch of super cheerful messages from Saki asking him if he wanted to come to the arcade with her and her friends since she knows he loves the arcade, she loves her friends interacting and she gets more plushies! Win-Win-Win. I can only imagine them all walking there, Saki somehow getting Touya to talk about all his ambitions and being happy to talk about music and things aswell and why he performs. Touya might be a little more closed off to talking sometimes, but somehow Saki knows what to say for him!

I feel like Saki would try and act a lot like Tsukasa in being the loud older sibling type around Touya to make them all laugh, though I guess it would go with Tsukasa joking that she's doing it wrong and doing exactly what Saki did but louder and with more posing while Touya just quietly laughs to himself.

OH! Imagine them having family game nights but everyone gets to invite someone else. obviously they all have their own best friends they're all gonna drag along( feel free to put quotes around that """"best friends"""" I know we are). Like a game of Monopoly. With. Tenma Tsukasa, Tenma Saki, Tenma Aoyagi Touya, Kamishiro Rui, Hoshino Ichika and Shinonome Akito. It would be utter hell. Games of truth or dare somehow become games to the death and blackmail.

Tsukasa and Rui are the oldest and are meant to be the most responsible but Rui is antisocial and tries to distract himself tinkering with robots the first hour or two before joining in, maybe having to help cook before being kicked out for cooking crimes against humanity. Ichika is trying her best!!! This is Saki's friends and family!! She has to make a good impression!!!!! So Ichika is really trying her best to get along but she just ends up getting concerned for everyone else. (Bonus points if in this timeline all the leaders know about the fact other leaders have sekais and they just keep awkwardly staring at each other.) Akito... Akito did not want to be there. He was bribed to be there. He wants to be there less by the hour, but Touya's having fun, so he settles down a bit. They get bullied for being clingy best- sorry, """"best friends"""", to which Akito yells at them for. I like to think even as /p or /r they're just naturally very close but I do have biases!!(bonus points if the best friends are all in fact dating their bestie and Akito and Rui just get to . stare at each other whenever Touya and Tsukasa talk in the 'what do we do now.' way)

karaoke nights. I don't need to say anything more. (Expect for that fact Tsukasa would go between singing seriously like Fixer style and like. Cosmospice. To make everyone laugh :) )

Touya never truly feels he really fits in with the two siblings due to them literally being rays of sunshine, but no matter what, he'll always feel safe, and at home. They've taught him so much from how to be his own person to how to make desserts cooking to how to survive. He could never do enough to thank them, but he thinks just trying to repay them over time is enough.
