Summary: Kagome is a normal human girl just trying to make her family proud, even if she’s on the most boring path to do it. One day, in an effort to procrastinate on her studies, she stumbles onto the path she’d always been meant to take, and it is anything but ordinary.

Kagome growled in annoyance as she thumbed through her text book, backtracking over chapters and pages she’d spent the last few hours diligently reading until she realized she hadn’t retained a single sentence worth of information, and her notebook for important notes and outlines was full of doodles.

‘I’m going to fail this final,’ she thought with a defeated sigh, ‘I don’t know WHY I thought a master’s was a good idea. I don’t even like the subject matter.’

5. Do you respond to comments? why/why not?

I usually do the week when I post a fic, but i stop after that period of time. I don't respond mostly because I dont know what to say... I love each and every comment!!! I just get nervous.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmmmm, I'd say What could have been. It's a DP fic from Phic Phight 2022 and the prompts I used weren't necessarily angst material, but I tied them together in a story meant to leave you empty.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don't do "happy" endings? I think I do "realistic" endings - main quest is conquered but we lost and gained things in the way.

I do write a lot of fluff and unapologetic one shots, so I would consider all of those "happy" endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Yes.

Fortunately is not a normal event in my fics, but now that I have dipped my toes in comic book fanfiction I've gotten my fair share of purists and know-it-alls that come to my comments to educate me on what it's "canon" and explain to me how my interpretation is wrong.

That aside, I'm not afraid to portray "problematic" ships and delicate situations ,mainly mental health stuff. I'm not the first or the last person that pour themselves in their writing and use fictional characters as a medium to work on some personal things. Of course that's gotten me enough comments telling me how disgusting I am and how I'm writing XYZ wrong.

9. Do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Yes. I don't have a lot posted, but I have WIPs.

Mostly BDSM and how important it is to trust your partner.

10. Do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one?

Mostly DPxDC!

I did have an insane crossover between Twilight and a book not a lot of people know. TBH im keeping that information to myself xd.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes.

There's a russian website that reposts fics.

And also people reposting my stuff in wattpad with a "credits to the author [name]" but they never asked me for permission.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! To Russian!!!! Made me so happy ヾ(≧▽≦*)o

13. have you ever co-written a fic?

Yes! I'm co-writing a fic with some close friends and my girlfriend. And another fic with just my girlfriend, but I'm so slow with it lmao

I'm a multishipper but usually I have 1 OTP that im Very Normal about in every fandom and then I'm just okay with everything else.

I don't want to jinx myself.

But probably the DP longfic. It's just. So long.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I've been told that my characters feel very real and that I write dynamics in a very organic way. In romance, I think I'm very good at portraying falling in love.

In general I've also been told I describe things in a way you can feel it, like you really are there.

17. writing weaknesses?

English is not my native language and I make a lot of mistakes, grammar wise. Or I let my weird miss matched speech patterns bleed into my characters and make them sound not quite right.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

Again, I'm native Spanish speaker, so I do write in English regularly xd

Other languages, I'd need someone that speaks that language to help me.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

Inuyasha. I was about 11 years old. Those fics were written in Microsoft Word 2003, in script format (aka "theater" format), and every character had an assigned color and I would switch colors every dialogue line.

20. fave fic you've ever written?

Difficult to choose.

I love a lot of my fics, even older ones.

If I have to pick just one, I'm picking Friendly neighborhood vigilante

As the length of her skirts dragged behind her, the fallen leaves rustled and sent forest life skittering to hide.

She grinned as she watched them peak out from behind bushes and branches, and she heard Sesshomaru chuckle from his place next to her.

She’d come so far, she’d learned so much, and as the years passed and time changed she’d figured out how to spend more time away from her temple and out in the world.

Her children grew up near the river and in the shrine and amidst the trees, and her place amongst the people solidified as she took the time to live with them, work with them, laugh with them, cry with them.

She took her position seriously, wanting to be more than just the personification of a pretty bauble that held so much power.

And Sesshomaru had been by her side every step of the way.

“I never get tired walking through this part of the forest.”

“Nor I,” he murmured, lacing their fingers and lifting her hand to kiss the back of it. “Where are we going?”

“To the place we first met.” She replied.

Unspoken, but nevertheless known, today would be a time of remembering the good and the sad.

She would take the time to remember her family on the other side, as well.

“If I could return them to you, I would.”

She smiled sadly up at her husband, her soulmate, the greatest gift the universe could have given her, better than anything she could have dreamed of herself.

“I know. But what I have now is more than enough. I simply like to remember them. I never want to forget where I came from.”

“Well we are almost there.” He replied, gesturing to the break in the trees where the clearing with the portal resided, waiting dormant and silent for the gods to decide it was time to throw a wrench in things again.

“After this we should go swimming in that little spring we found a few years ago.”

He grinned, and it was wicked and sultry and excited.

“Hn, I think that idea has merit, dearest one, we should- do you hear that?” He asked, tilting his head to the side.

“Here what?”

“Someone is ahead of us.” He said, pulling his sword out and signaling for her to walk quietly with him to the edge of the trees.

They hid behind a large one, and peeked carefully around, but then their hearts stopped.

The barrier moved, a liquid mirror shimmering in the fall sunshine with a young, confused human standing up from where they’d tumbled through.

Staring down at the newcomer with a look of awe, their eldest child stepped forward to offer a hand of help.

Trying not to gasp as tears threatened to flow, Kagome watched her first baby step into their destiny, leaning into Sesshomaru’s side as he wrapped his arm around her.

‘Let’s go.’ He mouthed to her, and with a watery smile she nodded and followed him quietly away.

The moon was new and the night was dark. The scent of rain hung in the air and the steady soft hum of it was a soothing lullaby. 

The door of Kagome’s hut was propped open into the darkness. Her futon was laid out neatly — in anticipation —  on the tatami-matted section by the back wall. Kagome herself sat by the hearth, poking at the glowing coals. The heat of them stung her cheeks, a sensation not unlike the rapid patter in the pit of her stomach. It felt more like a small horde of pinch-happy crabs than any delicate fluttering butterflies people so often waxed poetry about. 

She was waiting. For the water to boil, of course — the tray with its teapot and two ceramic cups already lay beside her. But also for any noise other than the static of the falling rain.

Her gaze darted towards the empty doorway. Her stomach gave a couple more twinges before she resolutely turned away and poked at the coals again.

A bittersweet expectation was welling inside of her. It was a sensation she'd become much too used to; brilliant delight, but brittle, its edges sharpened by agony.

Kagome sighed. One heartbreak really should have been enough for her to learn her lesson. Sadly, she hadn’t become twice shy. Her heart had slipped into another impossible romance, falling inch by inch so silently that it was all over before Kagome had even realised it had begun.

She came out of her reverie as she noticed the tiny bubbles starting to dance in the water. Kagome set her poker aside and carefully took the pot of water off the hot coals, setting it aside to cool for a moment. 

A scrape just outside broke through the background noise of the rain. The door of her hut creaked as it suddenly swung shut, sending the elongated shadows cast on her walls flickering as the candle flames danced inside the lanterns. 

“Impeccable timing, as always,” Kagome murmured, a small smile touching her lips. “I was just about to pour the water.”

As she set about the task, soft footfalls slowly crossed the small span of her hut. Awareness skittered across Kagome’s skin and her heart jolted with joy. Somehow, her hands still stayed steady as she poured the water, filling the teapot. 

Her guest sat down beside her, so close that the sleeve of his kimono almost brushed her thigh. 

This arrangement might have become a routine but every nerve-ending Kagome had was flaring into life in his presence.

For eight months now, he’d come to visit her at night. Only on the nights of the new moon, however. Kagome was not sure if that was simply his preference or if there was some deeper symbolism involved — or if he wanted to sneak around Inuyasha’s back. She’d never asked. 

His youki rose, brushing against her aura. Kagome suppressed a shiver, haunted by hope and shadowed by grief. She reached for the teapot and poured both of them a cup. 

“How have you been?” she asked as she handed his cup to him.

“As always,” Sesshoumaru replied, inclining his head in thanks as he accepted the tea. 

Kagome waited a beat, wishing in vain that he’d reciprocate. But as the silence stretched, she sighed and raised her cup to her lips.

“I’m glad you’ve been well, then,” she said after a moment. 

And she was. She certainly did not wish him ill. But enduring these visits had become harder and harder with each passing moon cycle. As Kagome’s feelings for him had grown and wormed their roots into her very soul, she couldn’t content herself with this status quo. She wanted more. She wanted to find her way into his heart. She wanted him to yearn for her just as much as she did for him.

But that would never happen. Kagome wasn’t sure if Sesshoumaru was even capable of love. And even if he was, well… She would hardly be the first female he would turn to. He was a daiyoukai and she was a miko. Unlikely didn’t even begin to describe the match they would make. 

Besides, there was her greatest flaw to consider. It had already brought one relationship to ruin and was a guarantee that nothing deeper would ever develop between her and Sesshoumaru. She did not know much about his life or the demon society in general. He didn’t seem to like talking about himself and she hadn’t dared to pose too many prodding questions. But from what she understood he was in a position of some prominence among his people. Perhaps even in possession of a title he would one day need to pass on to the next in line.

Kagome’s eyes burned and she quickly took a long sip of her tea and tried to stuff her errant thoughts and feelings back into a box. She couldn’t afford to spill them all over him. Tattered as it was, she still had her pride.

Silk rustled as he turned to her and leaned closer. His warm hand cupped her cheek.

“Why are you sad, Kagome?” he asked, his voice gruff.

She leaned into the touch, cradled by the love that swelled in her chest. 

“Just mourning for things that will never be.”

“Such as?”

“Family.”

His thumb traced her cheekbone. “Are you missing yours?”

“Yes.” It wasn’t even a lie; she missed them every minute of every day.

Sesshoumaru downed his tea and stood up. 

Kagome craned her neck as she looked up at him and at the hand he was offering to her.

“Come. Perhaps I can help you forget about everything, if only for a moment.”

Hurting, helpless and completely enamoured with him, she placed her hand in his and let him pull her up. Desire sparked and spun in the air between them as they stood toe to toe, lost in one another.
