The next part isn't even the end, this was just all originally supposed to be one single post that I decided to split up so it didn't take an age to post. So yeah, next part will kind of be 3/3 except those numbers actually mean nothing lmfao.

The thing about Garrus Vakarian that makes him such a 10 is that he came out of fucking nowhere.

In the first game I felt mid about him, even a little low-key concerned because he had some alarming ideals and I just had people closer to me who did the job better. Wasn't too sad to see him go.

And then there was the whole harrowing fiasco that was ME2 where he just fucking ajzbeinrbfusjanwb... And his reveal was such a roller coaster, such a colossal relief and horror and relief again. And the ride or die thing, because if you thought I was letting the emotional support vigilante out of my sight after that, think again.

I think I was like 10 hours from the end of ME3 (and WAY too far up another romance route), when the realization knocked me flat on my ass.

I love Garrus Vakarian.

Holy shit, I LOVE him.

Embarrassing, honestly. He's pixels. I'd had game feelings before but... like via the main character, not like... hit me with a sack of bricks, stop dead in my tracks on a random Tuesday, moment of complete clarity type feelings. The Garrus thing really does sneak up on you though, lmao. Full arc. 10/10. Such damn good writing. Love that little turian forever.

“Ready?” she asked, looking up at him. She saw him swallow.

“Yeah.” Then, more confidently, “Yes.”

“I’ll need help getting out of my suit.”

Garrus, whose gaze had dropped to her shoulder, snapped his eyes back to her face. “Right. Here, let me.”

He stepped in closer, hands going to her neck. Shepard, one arm dangling uselessly at her side and the other gripping the kitchen counter behind her, watched him from underneath her lashes as his eyelids lowered in concentration. This close she was surprised to note that he smelled like gun-oil and something warm and metallic. It was…nice? She took a deep breath in, enjoying the scent, and instantly breathed out sharply in surprise at herself.

“Did I hurt you?” he asked, voice low, his hands stilling at her neck. Shepard fought the urge to shiver as a gloved fingertip brushed against her skin.

What.

The fuck.

Is wrong with me?

“N…no. I’m-” she swallowed. “Fine. Keep going.”

Can we actually talk about Shepard marrying Garrus in the presidium though, bc it’s truly a massive “fuck you” to the reapers. The citadel was the center of their trap and how they previously devastated and fractured all advanced races in one fell swoop, until Shepard came along and stopped the signal turned the citadel into a mass relay, and then again when she used it to destroy the reapers permanently. And now, here she is, marrying the love of her life where they met all those years ago, turning the place that was supposed to be the end of humanity and the Galaxy as we know it, into the place where she ceremoniously ties herself to her beloved forever. War and devastation and all the horrors she saw especially on the citadel won’t stop her from standing there with the one person who always watched her six and proclaiming to the world what they always knew. There’s no Shepard without Vakarian.

I’ll eventually have a fic for this, but this is a photo of Ryn that Garrus keeps with him in the interim between ME1 and ME2.

This, his memories, and a (rebought because it was lost) “Blast This!” Blasto keychain on his rifle are the only things he has left of Ryn after she falls with the Normandy. When he’s at rock bottom, when everything has gone out from under his feet, at least he still has this moment captured in time, with one of Ryn’s smiles reserved just for him.

I just realized that Garrus probably has an apartment on the Citadel, since he works for C-sec.

Now I'm just imagining a post ME1 victory party at his place, like a smaller scale less angsty version of the Citadel DLC. Just everyone getting absolutely lit and hanging out together before they go their separate ways.

Kaiden and Cass are still together at this point, so they're being all cute and shit(Cass definitely gets him to Bioticly float her on a dare), Wrex is challenging people to drinking contests, which no one is crazy enough to accept, and Joker introduces the non-human squad to beer pong. Liara wins.

I..just need this so bad.
