going insane about scary marlowe attaching herself to willy KNOWING that he’s an incredibly selfish abusive man who needs her for power, because she’s so fresh off of losing terry jr who she sees herself as having been selfish towards but who WANTED her because of familial love, and she couldn’t deal with the idea that she could have someone who loved her at her most awful so she categorically rejects that in favor of emulating willy’s worldview, because he pushed everyone in his life away and he’s doing FINE, right???

I do find the way that some of the enemies in Rush of Blood are clearly based off of the characters. Esp bc they're Josh's friends and ur playing as him. So its suggesting he sees them as a threat

ITS HIMMMM ITS MY BOY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *DYING NOISES*
LYRICS ⬇️⬇️ if you can't listen rn
[Verse 1]
All alone
Why do I need friends
When I’ve got plenty of
Enemies?
[Verse 2]
I have a way
Of finding out their sins
And secrets, bringing them
To their knees
[Pre-Chorus]
The world owes me a debt
And now I’ve come to collect
So don’t get in my way
[Chorus]
I came up from nothing
The streets were my playground
I belong to the city
And was raised by the stakes I claimed
So I let the rumors
Turn me into a legend
‘Cause I’m only human
But a good myth is hard to kill
[Verse 3]
Maybe I’m
Too obsessed with
Retribution, somebody
Has to pay
[Verse 4]
By the time
You figure out the rules I broke
I’ve already
Won the game
[Pre-Chorus]
The world owes me a debt
And now I’ve come to collect
So don’t get in my way
[Chorus]
I came up from nothing
The streets were my playground
I belong to the city
And was raised by the stakes I claimed
So I let the rumors
Turn me into a legend
‘Cause I’m only human
But a good myth is hard to kill
[Bridge]
The odds are stacked against me
I keep my cards close to my chest
Just let them see my worst and
They’ll never judge me for my best
[Pre-Chorus]
The world owes me a debt
And now I’ve come to collect
So don’t get in my way
[Chorus]
I came up from nothing
The streets were my playground
I belong to the city
And was raised by the stakes I claimed
So I let the rumors
Turn me into a legend
‘Cause I’m only human
But a good myth is hard to kill

maternal instinct II a.russo x reader
"you're sure you don't want us to stay? cook dinner? help unpack? provide general love and company? we're more than happy to lessi!" beth pressed as alessia smiled at her friends and now club teammates.
"yes. i promise i'll be fine, we've got tomorrow off and i'll unpack then. i love you all very much but i'm exhausted!" alessia chuckled tiredly as her friends nodded in understanding. "well call us if you need anything yeah? anything." leah pushed as alessia nodded, opening the door for them.
"do you want us to come over tomorrow night? i'll cook!" lotte offered making alessia laugh as they hovered by the door. even more of the girls having helped her alongside her family and the movers today alessia's social battery was nearing zero, so as much as she appreciated everyones love and concern, she really just needed the time to recharge.
"i will speak to you all tomorrow, goodbye!" alessia hinted heavily, her friends hugging her and finally taking off toward the elevators as the blonde stood in her doorway and waved them off as still they lingered for a moment.
her lips curled into a smile and she shook her head as leah was finally pulled into the elevator, hanging around as if alessia might change her mind, her hand shooting out to wave before beth smacked it back inside and the doors closed.
"rawr!" alessia jumped a foot in the air and slipped, crashing down to the floor with a groan and a wince. "oh my god isabella!" she heard an unfamiliar voice hiss as footsteps thumped over and a hand extended to help her up.
"i am so so sorry." alessia found herself speechless as she was pulled up and faced the new voice, met with a gorgeous stranger who looked as though she couldn't have been too dissimilar in age to alessia herself.
"she learned what a practical joke is at school last week and she thinks its hilarious to scare people, nearly gave the poor elderly gent four doors down a heart attack yesterday." the stranger sighed and thats when alessia noticed the tiny girl hidden behind her leg, peering out every now and then.
"its okay, really. i was born with two left feet so it doesn't take much for me to hit the floor." alessia joked, rubbing her tailbone which she was sure would be bruised tomorrow from the impact. "well i'm still very sorry, its hardly very welcoming when your new neighbours have you tumbling over to the floor, you just moved in today right?" the girl smiled kindly as alessia nodded.
"i promise its no problem, i'm alessia." the blonde held her hand out as you introduced yourself and shook it. "this is isabella" you nodded down to your five year old daughter hidden behind your leg.
"bella say hi and say sorry for scaring alessia please." you requested softly, hand gently guiding your daughter out from behind you as alessia squatted down, well aware her height wouldn't help the young girl feel any less intimidated.
"hi, sorry for scaring you." the girl mumbled, still clinging onto your leg as she glanced up at alessia with a shy smile. "thats okay, i've got two big brothers and i liked to scare them when i was your age too." alessia grinned, bellas smile widening at her words.
"its very lovely to meet you, i like your shoes." alessia pointed downward before shuffling a little so the girl could see she was sporting the same ones.
"woah your feet are huge!" bella gasped with wide eyes, bending down to poke at alessia's trainers making her laugh as you winced. "sorry! she's not got much of a filter, i'm working on it." you sighed with a small chuckle as alessia pushed up to stand again.
"hey honesty is the best policy right?" alessia joked kindly as bella continued to poke at her shoes and you gently pulled her away.
"well we'll leave you to settle in but welcome to the building! i'm sure we'll see you around alessia." you gave her another smile and turned back toward your own apartment, the blonde grinning as isabella gave her an enthusiastic wave before sprinting inside.
~
and indeed it wasn't very long before alessia saw either of you again.
"oh shit! no no no." alessia panicked, feeling around in her pockets and shaking her bag but coming up empty, suddenly having a vision of her keys where she'd left them on the counter this morning, too used to having them connected to her car key but not having gotten around to it with this new set just yet.
grabbing out her phone she called the building manager, huffing when it instantly went to voicemail and didn't even allow her to leave one. wracking her brain for what her next move could be she tapped her foot and flicked through her contacts, though no one would really be able to help her unless they were a locksmith.
so with a sigh she left her bag by her door and moved to stand in front of yours, raising her fist and knocking a few times. but when there was no answer she turned away assuming you weren't home, barely making it a few steps before the door clicked.
"alessia?" you called out curiously, the blonde turning with a sheepish smile. "i'm really really sorry to bother you, but i've locked myself out and i can't get through to mr brooks." alessia rubbed the back of her neck, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.
"he'll be playing poker, turns his phone off on saturdays. does anyone have your spare?" you chuckled, alessia shaking her head. "its still inside. with moving in and settling in at my new club and trainings and media appearances i haven't had a chance." alessia groaned, throwing her head back as you gave her a look of sympathy.
"look i'm well aware we were all taught about stranger danger in school, but would you like to wait inside? i've got a number for a good locksmith, he works weekends he might just take a few hours if he's got other jobs." you offered kindly, alessia stuttering out that she didn't want to be a bother.
"you wouldn't be, i promise. i just made lunch and there's more than enough for two." you assured, opening your door wider and gesturing for her to join.
"i don't bite! i promise." you joked, a smile curling onto the taller girls lips as she finally accepted the offer, grabbing her bag and stepping inside your apartment.
"bella's at her dads." you answered while dishing you both up a bowl, alessia not needing to ask but clearly noting the lack of your daughter. "alessia you can sit down." you laughed at how awkward she seemed, finding it quite endearing and a tiny bit cute.
"my friends call me less, or lessi." alessia clarified, leaving her bag by the door and taking a seat at your dining table. "we're friends already? maybe that stranger danger lecture hasn't sunk in for you." you teased with a grin, alessia's face blushing bright red.
"no! i didn't mean that sorry i just meant-" the blonde rambled as you placed the bowl of pasta down in front of her. "i'm only teasing, less." you smiled, taking a seat across from her and nodding for her to eat, the girl declining your offer of a drink.
~
"nah i just don't know if i can get over that." alessia denied with a firm shake of her head as you playfully swatted at her arm, the two of you now sat much more comfortably on your lounge getting to know each other.
"i was five! i didn't know any better." you laughed, snatching back the photo from her grip which showed a much younger you sat on your fathers shoulders at a liverpool game, jersey on and face painted.
"you can ask you know." you smiled knowingly as alessia's eyes hovered on a picture of you and bella when she was just a baby, bundled up in a bright blue blanket stitched with tiny pink flowers your mother had made.
"ask what?" alessia questioned with a confused frown. "about her, being a teen mum is interesting to everyone. you're just too polite to acknowledge it unlike most other people." you smiled as alessias cheeks flushed red, wondering if you had some sort of mind reading power.
"i didn't-i wouldn't want to-" alessia stammered out quickly. "you wouldn't, i promise. there's not much i've not been asked before really." you assured gently as alessia nodded, more as if to reassure herself than assure you.
"how old were you?" the blonde asked after a short pause had passed. "eighteen when i fell pregnant, nineteen once i gave birth. yes it was an accident, no i didn't know her dad before we got drunk and slept together. we were young and stupid, the condom broke and i told him it was fine!" you rolled your eyes at your own reckless decision.
"so he's..." alessia trailed off, clearly still feeling a little awkward which made you chuckle. "he's in the picture. he's a good guy and a good dad but like i said we didn't know each other. naturally he freaked out when i told him, i didn't hear from him for a few months but i also didn't expect anything from him." you shrugged.
"my parents were actually much more supportive than i thought. it took me the longest to tell them because i was scared but they promised no matter what i chose they'd support me, and it meant more than they'll ever know." you smiled softly at the memory as alessia hung off your every word.
"so he came back into the picture, his parents took a little more convincing but between all of us we came up with a plan before she was even born. we alternate weekends and given i work at her school and live closest to the doctors and our parents she lives with me most of the time, but he takes her on tuesday and thursday afternoons and we communicate when things don't work or if he wants to see her more." you explained as alessia nodded.
"that sounds really healthy." the blonde observed, leaning her head on her hand, elbow pressed into the back of the lounge. "did the two of you ever try and-" alessia clearly struggled to find the right words making you smile.
"we both just want whats best for her. we established pretty early on that we're absolutely not each others person but we are hers, and she comes first always." you answered as now alessia smiled softly, clearly seeing how much you cared for your daughter.
your conversation stilled as there was a few sharp knocks at the door clearly in some sort of intended pattern, and seeing the curious look on alessia's face you chuckled. "i'd love to say thats the locksmith but that'll be bella." you smiled, standing up to your feet and making your way over to the door.
you'd barely opened it a few centimetres before your daughter was wiggling her way through and crashing into you, tightly hugging your leg and making you laugh.
alessia watched on fondly from the lounge, a smile curling into her lips as she watched the interaction, a few words exchanged between your ex and yourself confirming arrangements for next week before bella noticed the new person on the lounge.
"big feet!" your daughter chirped in greeting as you closed the front door and your cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. "bella! that is not her name." you told her off flashing alessia an apologetic wince who waved it off, grin on her face.
"why are you here?" bella asked curiously, climbing up onto the lounge and settling herself next to alessia, wiggling around to get comfortable. "i did something very silly and i locked my keys inside my house!" alessia smacked her hand against her forehead with a scoff making bella giggle.
"did your dad feed you or is the monster in your stomach hungry bel?" you called out, her head popping up over the back of the lounge. "mmm dad fed me. but not the monster, the monsters hungry!" bella announced as you hummed in understanding.
"and what is the monster hungry for?" you questioned with an amused smile. "alessia whats your favourite sandwich?" bella turned to the footballer beside her who looked caught off guard. "oh gosh um, ham and cheese?" alessia spoke out the first thing which came to mind.
"ham and cheese please! one for the monster and one for big feet." bella answered with a concise nod as you sighed at the nickname but found yourself relieved as alessia only laughed.
"so bella, tell me about this monster in your tummy. how on earth did it get in there?"
~
"snap! i win." bella cheered happily, jumping around with a grin as alessia groaned dramatically, collapsing back into the lounge with a playful frown.
"you are just too fast! i didn't even see your hand move. do you have super powers?" alessia tutted with a shake of her head as you smiled, admittedly melting at how easily she seemed to get along with your daughter.
"its cause the monsters brain and my brain mash together and make one huge brain so i'm really fast and strong and smart! but its okay you're not very good at this game." bella explained, patting the strikers knee apologetically for the loss making you laugh and alessia jokingly shove at your shoulder.
the game was interrupted by another few knocks at the door, bella climbing back onto the lounge to continue chattering away to alessia as you stood to answer.
"all fixed." you smiled as paul handed you the new key, seeing alessia's door had been opened. "thank you! i'll just go-" you turned as the older man quickly shook his head. "don't be silly love. i owed your dad a favour anyway, tell him its paid up." he promised as you thanked him and offered a tea or coffee, paul apologizing stating he'd have to leave, needing to run off to another job.
thanking him again you waved the man off and closed your door. "good news! you're in." you smiled, holding the key up as alessia exhaled a deep sigh of relief. "thank you so much, wait where did he go? i didn't even pay!" alessia panicked as you quickly reassured her it was fine.
"he owed my dad a favour, break in was free of charge." you teased lightly, handing her the key as the colour returned to her face. "thank you again, and for letting me potato it out on your lounge all afternoon. i hope you didn't have any plans?" alessia worried as you shook your head.
"none at all, really it was lovely getting to know you a bit better. bella and i haven't really met many people in the building, i know she can be...a lot sometimes." you put lightly, glancing at your daughter over alessia's shoulder where she sat on the floor making two of her dolls wrestle one another.
"no way, i wish i was half as cool as she is when I was her age." alessia laughed, hand squeezing your knee in reassurance before she stood. "but i should really get out of your hair. thank you for lunch too! i'd love to return the favour if you and bella would like to come over for dinner sometime?" alessia offered with a kind smile.
"we would!" bella answered before you could, appearing between the two of you suddenly with a grin as you rolled your eyes fondly. "well you're both more than welcome." alessia promised, bending down to isabella's height with a grin that matched hers.
"thanks for playing with me big feet!" alessia nearly fell backward as the five year old threw her arms around her neck in a tight hug before racing off and leaving you shaking your head after her as alessia pushed back up to her feet.
grabbing her bag alessia stepped outside as you gave her a smile so warm it nearly bowled her back over again, the blonde finding herself lingering on your doorstep despite her own apartment being a mere few feet away.
"um. could i maybe grab your number? so we can organise dinner!" alessia clarified quickly, her ears flushing pink as a hundred worries that she'd make you uncomfortable rushed to the forefront of her mind.
this wasn't like her, she didn't ask for strangers numbers and spend hours in their apartments and invite them over for dinner. and yet, here she was doing all of that and finding herself near praying you'd say yes.
"sure." you nodded happily, holding your hand out for her phone which alessia hurried to tug out of her pocket, unlock and and place down gently into the palm of your outstretched hand.
watching as you added in your number and handed it back to her, the two of you fell into a few beats of comfortable silence, exchanging a smile which seemed to be a wordless farewell.
"wait!" alessia paused as she was turning to head back to her own apartment, watching bella wiggle her way out of of the half closed door. "here." she held out a small pink and blue braided bracelet up to the striker.
"so you can put your key on it and wear it so you don't lock it inside again!" the five year old smiled, patting alessia's leg before racing off back into the apartment. "thank you!" alessia called out with a tender smile, sending you a nod which you returned with a soft smile before your apartment door closed and alessia turned to head into her own.
~
"and then you have to make sure there's lots of flour on the board." alessia instructed as bella nodded and you watched on with a smile, the two in your kitchen making both dinner and a mess.
the dinners had become sort of an unspoken routine, the first one at alessias house running so late that bella had wound up taking a much needed nap in alessia's spare room while the two of you spoke for hours and hours.
since then you found yourself in her kitchen or her in yours at least once a week, alessia one of the most patient women you'd ever met as she made sure to include your daughter in all of the cooking, keeping an eye nearly as watchful as yours on her energetic five year old sous chef.
you'd of course taken charge more than once and cooked for her, but you noticed that alessia genuinly enjoyed cooking for others, and you would always notice the clear joy in her eyes when you and bella clearly expressed how good her cooking was, your daughters tummy monster rapidly becoming her biggest fan.
"then we carefully use this little roller and we roll and roll and roll, and look! it cuts the pasta into little shapes." alessia explained, her hand guiding isabella's which was clamped around the tool, the girls face ablaze with wonder.
"woah! so cool." bella exhaled, eyes wide as you met alessia's gaze with a soft smile, your cheeks becoming a little warm as the taller girl sent you a wink and turned her attention back to your daughter.
you'd be lying to yourself if you said you hadn't noticed that maybe you might harbour some more than friendly feelings for your blonde neighbour, but you were also very used to squashing these and compartmentalizing what your priorities were.
"does the monster want red sauce or green sauce?" alessia asked, pulling a face and making bella giggle from where she sat on the counter swinging her legs to and from.
"red." bella paused as if to consult with the imaginary gremlin inside her before deciding as alessia smiled at the sight. all it had taken was one joke that your daughters appetite must be because she had a monster living in her tummy and she'd ran with it, proudly telling everyone and anyone about her new best friend.
you left them to it and turned your attention to the report cards scattered across the dining room table, all that was left was to check you'd covered everyone in your class and sign it off and your weekend would be stress free.
what you failed to notice though was that as much as you'd sneak a glance at alessia every now and then with a soft smile, the moment you'd look back away she was doing the same, feelings which matched yours fluttering away in her stomach but unsure what to do about them.
the decision came later that night when bella had been tucked in and was long asleep, much to her demands that she should be allowed to stay up and join your 'girls night' because she was a big girl and she didn't have school tomorrow.
but with alessia saying goodnight and promising to come over on the weekend before hiding away in your bedroom occupying herself watching tv.
so thinking she now wasn't missing out on anything you'd then wrestled the five year old into bed and read her her favourite story, bella not even making it five pages in before her eyes drooped and suddenly she was dead asleep.
despite that you still read through the story cover to cover, having done so ever since she was little you weren't about to break the tradition now.
kissing her forehead and very quietly making your way out of the room, you closed her bedroom door with the most gentle click possible and exhaled, crossing the hallway to your own bedroom.
"we're safe!" you joked, knocking on the door frame as the blonde looked up from her phone. "what did i miss then?" you moved to sit beside her on the bed, both you and alessia watching the night agent together.
"another murder, loads of anonymous phone calls, nothing serious." alessia shrugged, whining as you smacked her leg. "who got murdered! thats not a detail to be skipped over russo." you clicked your tongue as she playfully rolled her eyes.
"maybe if you hadn't watched ahead and forced me to catch up, i might have been more forth coming with information." alessia shrugged pulling a face as you scoffed.
"i only watched ahead because you bailed on dinner last week!" you teased shoving her. "oh i am so sorry for being sick and not wanting to share germs, how horribly selfish of me." alessia gasped as you nodded. "i'm so glad you're finally seeing it from my point of view." you sighed, squealing as her fingers dug into your sides.
"no no no i'm sorry!" you begged, trying to push her off as her fingers attacked, poked and prodded at your sides. "less!" you laughed out, trying to shove her off as the two of you grappled, alessia now squealing as your hand poked at her ribs which were just as ticklish as yours.
"okay okay, truce!" alessia panted out, your body half on top of hers as your hands left one anothers bodys and you collapsed a little into her, both of you vibrating against one another with much more gentle laughter.
a silence fell between you as you pulled your head off of her chest, glancing down at her and finding yourself immediately sucked into the vibrant baby blue pools of her affectionate gaze.
alessia's own eyes also locked in with yours, suddenly becoming very aware of the close and pressed together nature of your bodies, the taller girl pushing herself up ever so slightly, noticing you didn't recoil away as her face was now mere centimeters from yours.
her eyes searched your face for any sign that you didn't want this as much as she did, coming up a little unsure unable to completely read your expression decided to just take a chance.
you weren't caught completely off guard at the sudden feel of her soft lips pressed to yours, but your breath did hitch slightly as her hands ever so carefully cupped your face, deepening it a little but not pushing things too far.
but that tiny adjustment in position was all it took for the alarm bells to ring in the back of your head and your walls to shoot right back up from where she'd spent weeks scaling over them and sneaking her way into your life.
so you pulled away and sat up, forcing your eyes away and missing how her face fell at your change in body language, regret burning her mouth like it was full of bitter ashes.
"i am so sorry, i should go." alessia managed out, sitting up as you caught the hints of insecurity in her tone and she quickly hurried out of your bedroom. "less wait!" you rushed after her and grabbed her wrist as she stood by your front door, heart feeling as if someone was squeezing it in their fists at the look on her face.
"i do like you, really. but i come with...a lot of baggage." you sighed out, alessia's face curving downward into a frown.
"i have a child alessia. bella is my life and i would never ever do anything to confuse or hurt her, and bringing people in and out of my life that aren't just friends can be really hard to understand at her age." you started, running a hand through your hair with another sigh.
alessia waited a moment to see if you continued, but when you didn't she took intitiative to speak up for herself.
"i'd love to say i understand that but i don't have a child so that would be a lie. but i know bringing someone romantically into your circle can be a lot, with or without other things going on-" alessia started softly.
"-but i really like bella. i wasn't lying when she said she is literally the coolest kid i've ever met, and looking at her mum its no wonder she is such a special, kind and loving little human being. but again, i can imagine that at her age it can be really scary to dangle someone in front of her that she bonds with and connects with and when things don't work out and they leave, how hard it would be to explain why." alessia continued sincerely, gaze locked with yours.
"i would never rush you into anything. obviously this is different than a normal relationship when there's a third parties feelings being taken into consideration, but i promise to never overstep with that, everything can be on your terms." alessia promised, a lump in your throat at the tenderness her words seemed to carry.
alessia found herself pulling you into a hug, your body melting perfectly into hers as you found a warmth blossoming in your chest as your face pressed into her shoulder, her strong arms holding you tight within them, chin hooking over your shoulder as she stood a head or so taller.
"i also really like you, and i've loved getting to know both you and bella. i'd love to see where this might go but i know there's more to think about than just you and i, so i promise i'm happy being friends too. just...think it over." at those words she let you go, tugging your door open and pressing a kiss to the crown of your head before suddenly she was gone, only the lingering feeling of her lips against your skin all that was left.

media day
Leah Williamson x Reader
Tumblr media
For everyone that rages at it I’m gonna check it aight
—————————-
“whats today” asked Leah’s strong Milton Keynes accent behind a digital film camera. You looked up and smiled at her camera.
“It’s media day!” You softly said, voice still horse, still half asleep and leaning at the kitchen bench with your girlfriend, she was going to put a bunch of captured videos from every six months on a video for her instagram. It was a new goal of hers. The idea made your heart melt.
Some days she would just set it up as you two spent time together. If you were travelling and watching the sunset on the beach with Leah as an example, she would set the camera up behind the two of you cuddling and looking out.
Other times she would film you and your friends being silly in the gym, or videos of you and your dogs.
Later, Leah drove the two of you to the training grounds. Both with hair neat and light makeup on, ready to film some media.
Most of you girls didn’t mind these days, some hated, but you found it so much fun. Leah filmed you as you skipped through the entrance and down the hauls, the blonde chuckling behind you. You turned around and winked for the camera before you ran into Beth and Steph coming up the other way,
“Hello!” Beth said hugging you. You hugged her tightly before doing the same to Steph.
“You’re after Caitlin and Jen. You have to do another game for a video this one is more fun than the last one trust me” Beth said to you two, letting you know what the first media duty was, also reminding you at how bad you were at the last challenge you filmed was.
When you stepped into the area with many cameras and back drops for shoots set up, you girlfriend was immediately peeled away from you to go take some photos in the new training tracksuit set. Claiming they didn’t have enough content for the particular set.
You were sitting on one of the lounges scrolling through instagram as you noticed Jen come up to you with a microphone “y/n!” The tall brunette exclaimed. “Mind if I sit?” She asked pointing to the spot on the couch next to you.
“Of course Jenny” you smiled moving your legs that were laying there, before putting them back on top of Jen’s lap so they could lay there once again.
“Oh ok” Jen and you giggled as you relaxed back into the couch with you legs resting over her lap. “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”
“Hit me” you said smiling at the camera
“I went over to grab a cookie from the snack table. And Caitlin foord had informed me that you had eaten the entire bowl of cookies? Can you confirm or deny?” She asked you
“What!” You laughed. “Caitlin not fair!” You yelled across the indoor area as the girl poked her tongue at you. “Deny. She ate most of them I had two!” You said looking into the camera, getting louder at the last part so the brunette across the room could hear.
“Rumour confirmed. Now who do you think looks the best in the new home kit?” Jen said smirking, motioning towards her chest as she was wearing the said kit.
“I think it really suits me im not gonna lie…..” you grinned “But best might have to be Jen Beattie” you shrugged, you high-fived her before you noticed a blonde with her arms folded glaring at both of you.
“I didn’t see you come through the door” you smiled at Leah, patting the spot next to you so she could sit.
“Jen best dressed in home kit?” She questioned towards the camera.
“Yes-“ Jen said proudly
“No! It’s a tie!” You grinned
“Mm sure” Leah said
“Ok one final question and Leah you can answer this too. Any pre game traditions you have together? Like as a couple?”
“Well Leah Can’t cook so I end up cooking pasta. I feel like when you ask a footballer their night-before meal they all say this. But it’s seriously you know, good carbs for the following game day” you said into your microphone to Jen and the Camera
“I can cook some things” Leah said
“Let’s be real here Leah, I don’t even live with you and I know this” Jen laughed, making Leah pout cutely at the camera
“You make great weetabix darling” you said rubbing her shoulder in sympathy causing her to upside-down smile at you.
“And there you have it let’s find our next guest” Jen’s voice trailed off, leaving the couch as the camera man followed her and the mic.
Leah pulled you into her embrace on the couch, you now completely collapsed on top of her. “I’m already tired” your girlfriend huffed below you.
“let’s get you a coffee I was about to get one” you said getting up to head towards the snack table containing a coffee machine just to your luck.
“Yuck no thanks” said the non-coffee drinker.
———————
“Hi im Y/n y/l/n”
“And I am Leah Williamson”
“This is Arsenal’s Name Three game, where we are going to be asked to name three of a category or something like that in under 5 seconds” you shrugged smiling wide
“Here we go” Leah said rubbing her palms together
“Name Three dog breeds. Go” you asked with cardboard game cards in your hand
“Ok um Husky, Border Collie and erm Labrador” she smiled proud of getting it right in 4 seconds.
“Nice work” you smiled, adjusting your position on your seat as Leah read her card.
“Name three Arsenal men’s players from the 2021/2022 season!”
“Um Martinelli, Tomiyaso, Saka!” You clapped after quickly finishing “did I have to say full names?” You asked the people behind the camera who shook their heads.
“Dang that was quick good job sweets. Okay my turn now I’m gonna beat your time” Leah said.
“Oh god good luck. Three countries that speak Spanish off you go” you read as her 5 seconds started
“Shit um Spain, El Salvador and”
“1..” you counted down
“Mexico” she smiled proudly finishing her answer in less than a second. “That was an easier question than you think”
“I’m shit at Geography” you shrugged to the camera
“Ok y/l/n your second is name three shades of red” she smiled reading, knowing you most likely wouldn’t get this.
“Is red one-“ you questioned
“Time starts go!”
“I don’t know any! Um plain red and… oh pink is one right” you exclaimed
“Bowbow! Times up. And I don’t think Plain red counts, nor pink” she laughed
“Surely” you mumbled crossing you arms. The camera started recording as you were given the next card. “For your final question Leah, three fake blondes on the Arsenal team” you giggled reading out your card.
“Oh my god that’s funny um shit Beth, Laura and also oh wait no she’s not…and Chloe!”
“Time! You didn’t get the last one in time!” You argued
“I so did!” She exclaimed
“Nope”
“I did but whatever then you just cannot handle losing” she said, receiving a glare from you. “Ok for the final question of today for lucky y/n here. Name three country songs starting with L”
“What! Not fair”
“Ready?”
“Absolutely not!
“Okay three two one start!” She exclaimed, studying your face as your face scrunched up in thought.
“Love you anyway Luke combs, lovin on you and like a wrecking ball by Eric Church” you yelled jumping up as you got them “yes! Got em!” You yelled excitedly you and Leah both laughed as you settled behind Leah’s back arms around her neck in a hug, with Leah bringing her hands up to your arms as you recorded the outro.
“I think we have a clear winner-“
“It was a tie missy” you said slightly whacking her head. “Anyways tune into our sold out game this weekend against Manchester United at Arsenal.com and Sky News sports. Check out our socials for further details” you smiled.
“See you next time” Leah giggled with her thumbs up, slightly cringing at it.
“Thanks ladies was brilliant” said one of the girls behind the camera, letting you now go back to where the rest of the girls were.
——————
Media days isn’t just snapping a few cute pics and playing a fun game. It was a little bit more effort and just loads of hours and hours of sitting and waiting to be called up to take pictures or film something for social media.
“What does selling out the emirates mean to me? Um it just feels surreal. As a child I remember coming to the emirates to watch Chelsea and Arsenal play, as a child when your in places like that with just tens of thousands of people it doesn’t feel real and it’s just so overwhelming. All of those people there to watch one game of silly football I would think” you laughed “but just wow 60,000 what a number I guess and it will never hit me that me and the girls have achieved this, if you told me this was happening 12 months ago I would have probably laughed. Especially telling little me sitting there at a sold out emirates in 2005, that I would be on that pitch with the same scenario just blows my mind” you smiled as you put down the phone you were asked to share your thoughts on the sold out game on.
“Sorry that was a bit of a ramble there” you said shyly, handing the phone back to the media manager.
“Absolutely not. That was so good thanks for doing that” she smiled at you before you went back to where you could see Lia, Leah and Kim all sitting down on the fake grass inside.
“Hello kimmy” you said resting your chin on her shoulder, before your eyes fell on a fast asleep Leah laying on Lia’s leg, phone in hand but dead asleep”
“Oh hello” Kim laughed hugging you back “this one was a bit tired” she pointed to your girlfriend
“Yeah she didn’t get the best sleep” you sighed going to sit next to Leah passed out on the floor.
Lia and Kim both scrunching up their faces in disgust at your response. “ no no not like that freaks. She was up playing piano again” you defended, groaning at the last part.
“Poor you. When you were away and she asked me to come over while she practised, she was up for hours” Lia laughed.
“Every night when I’ll tell her I’m going to bed, usually that implies she will too and she hops up and follows me. But lately she just says ‘night!’ and stays up playing for hours” you said, Kim smiling in amusement at the sleepy girl, before a strong Irish voice was heard.
“Here’s the sleepy girl!” Katie shoved the camera at Leah’s sleepy state passed out next to you. “And the wag!” she said now putting the camera in your face, you following your eyes at her continuous joke.
You were injured for one of your England games and were in the stands without being on the pitch with the English girls, an article released from the game called you ‘Leah’s Wag’, Katie found it hilarious and now called you ‘wag’ a lot.
“Is that Leah’s camera” you smiled up at the brunette, camera still in your face.
“You know it chick” Katie said “give me an update on what’s happening!” She said motioning for you to talk to her ‘vlog’
“Umm im ready to be told i can go home” you said sweetly, genuinely waiting to get told by the staff all was good and we could leave.
“Same here” Katie grinned wide panning the camera to her face. “Ooh!” Katie said skipping off with the camera after she found Jen making a TikTok with Beth.
Now you and Leah were left together laying on the ground, her still asleep, you thought, as her arms reached out in a stretch. “Hi baby” you said sweetly kissing her check, then her nose, then her lips.
“How long did I sleep for” she asked looking around slightly.
“No idea. Not too long I don’t think”
“Sorry about that” she said snuggling into your legs
“Don’t apologise. We should be able to leave soon. Actually I’m just gonna ask. I can’t wait any longer seriously” you said before getting up to find one of the media girls Ryhanna who was sitting down editing something on a computer. She said it was supposed to finish at 2, but we should be find to leave now.
“I’ll check hang on” she said getting up to ask someone
“Thank you” you said gratefully before walking over to the small drinking tap, filling up your water bottle which was next to it so you could give some to Leah.
“Yep you and Leah are all good to go!” She yelled from a bit away “see you guys tomorrow”
“Thank you so much. See you then!” You said, now happily skipping back. “We can go now!” You hummed, reaching your hands out to Leah so you can pull her up.
She smiled contently and happily letting you pull her up from the ground. You hugged some of the girls goodbye, who were now curious and jealous as to when they could leave.
“After you” Leah said holding the door open which led to the parking lot out the front. You gave her a sweet look and reached for her hand as you walked to the car together.
“Let’s get some sleep” she said leaning on your shoulder as you walked.
“It’s barely five” you laughed at your tired girlfriend. “It’s all that piano practise you stay up to do”
“Yeah yeah” she said walking to the drivers seat
“No missy your gonna fall asleep on the road let me drive. You took her hand in yours, pulling her away from the handle and also grabbing the keys from her hand.
“Off you go my passenger princess” you tapped her butt to shoo her away to the passenger seat
“No you’re my passenger princess” she said with warm cheeks when you both buckled your seat belts. Your reached for her hand once you made it onto the main road, interlocking fingers as you gently kissed hers.
“Smile your on camera” she exclaimed as you slowly turned your head to her and the camera, your girlfriend filming the entire sweet moment, lightly pulling your tongue out at it before facing back at the road in front of you, pecking all of her fingers again as she giggled like a small girl next to you.

Obviously in love // Grace Clinton
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request:)
Grace Clinton liked you.
You liked Grace Clinton.
Everybody knew.
Everybody but the two of you.
Several occasions showed exactly that.
-
It started with the many superstitions the two of you had or rather shared. The girls would always tease you about it while both of you claimed and often argued that you‘d play horrible if not doing so.
1.) Grace always had to do your hair. Each time she would do a different hairstyle, each of them done perfectly as your hair wouldn‘t ever get in the way, no matter what happened.
2.) You had to tie her boots. Yes, she was able to do it herself, (like you were capable of doing your hair yourself) but something about you tying her shoes gave her enough confidence to shoot from every angle and distance on the pitch. And score goals.
3.) "ready to win?"
"Ready whenever you are"
-
"Popcorn!" Celin shouted as she entered the living room with three bowels of popcorn balancing in her hands.
The Tottenham girls were sat around the couches, arm chairs and bean bags as the movie marathon was about to begin.
Grace and you shared a bean bag, yourself sitting in between her legs while your back rested against her front and her arms were loosely wrapped around your mid section. "Try not to fall asleep to soon, yeah pretty girl?" the midfielder purred, in responds your hands pinched her thighs "If i remember correctly it was you who snored like a grizzly bear the last time" you giggled as Gracie attacked you with pokes in your side. She only stopped when she felt a smack against the back of her head, "movie starts" the captain stated. You settled back in her arms while she pulled you closer.
Her arms brought you a type of comfort nobody ever could.
-
It was save to say that Grace loved the spare key she had to your home. She used it at every opportunity she got, opening the door when you were with her "I have my own key, I can open the door for us" proudly showing the key on her key chain. Or other than that, letting herself in when you weren‘t there as she made herself a home and even using the key when you were at home but didn‘t expect her to come over.
You stood in the kitchen, preparing your dinner when you felt arms snuggling around your waist, a head resting on your shoulder. You shrieked, caught completely off guard as you yet melted in the grasp, your favourite scent filling the air.
"Gracie! You promised me!" you grumbled, turning around as you stared at the midfielder with crossed arms, "you can‘t just come over and use the spare key! It‘s for emergencies"
"It is an emergency!" she defended herself, arms up in surrender.
"What‘s the emergency, hm?"
"I missed you" she stated, pulling you close before she hid her face in the crook of your neck, mumbling something inaudible.
You sighed, asking "Do you want some dinner?" your fingers combing through her hair.
"Yes, please"
-
"You‘re staring" the voice of Beth appeared next to you, calling you back to reality.
"What did you say?"
"You‘ve got something in your eye" she repeated as you looked at her, "what? Where?" trying to find what and in which eye.
"Grace"
You glared at her while she laughed her ass off.
"Shut up!" you hit her arm, Grace already skeptically looking at the two of you from the other side of the pitch, about to make her way over.
"Come one, you like her" Beth said now in an softer tone, "and she likes you"
"We‘re best friends!" you replied, slight anger in your voice.
"Whatever you say, babes"
-
After tossing and turning for hours, you came to the realization that you weren‘t able to sleep. You didn‘t why but it annoyed you. Physically you were tired, your eyes closing every now and then but you just couldn’t fall into a deep slumber.
Not knowing what to do, but desperately in the need and want of sleep, you reached for your phone.
"Hello?" The sleepy voice rasped.
"Gracie?"
"What‘s wrong? Are you okay?" She shot up from her bed, you never called at such a late hour and with the shakiness in your voice she thought of the worst.
"I don‘t know, sorry. Forget about it" you mumbled, regretting that you called her at 3am.
"Wait-" but you had already hung up. You would find a way to sleep.
On the other side of the phone, Grace was already out of bed, throwing a hoodie and joggers over her pyjama. She raced through the apartment, every possible light on, searching for eventually needed stuff, not being bothered by the noises she made which woke up her flatmate.
"What are you doing? It‘s in the middle of the night" Celin said, leaning in her door frame while she rubbed her eyes.
"Something’s wrong"
"Do we have an intruder?!" she yelled, grabbing for the nearest weapon in her room.
"What? No. Something‘s wrong with my- Y/N"
Celin watched Grace pace through the kitchen, collecting your favourite snacks which she had stored in her home in case you hung out here, craving some of them.
"When are you going to tell her that you like her?"
"We‘re best friends"
"Are you telling me that or yourself? Everybody knows you like each other"
In silence, she put on her shoes, backpack filled with essentials before she rushed out of the house.
When she opened the door, she was met with darkness. Because of this, she assumed that you were in your bedroom. Gently, she opened the door-
"What the fuck!" you yelled, frightened. You switched on your lamp, staring at the midfielder, "you scared the shit out of me!" suddenly wide awake.
"I scared the shit out of you? You scared the shit out of me!" she replied, putting down her backpack and walking over to 'her' side of the bed - the side she slept in when she was staying over. "What are you doing here?" you asked, already knowing the answer.
"You called me and then hung up on me all of sudden." she slipped under the duvet, closing the distance, "I was worried" her hands found your waist, pulling you in her grasp before she continued, "what‘s wrong? There’s a reason you called me, so please don‘t say 'nothing'"
Looking away from her, you could feel your cheeks heating up embarrassingly.
"I couldn’t- can‘t sleep" you muttered, "and I can always sleep when you‘re here, so-"
"you thought asking me to come over would help until you realized it’s three in the morning?" she finished your sentence.
you nodded.
"I‘m sorry"
"Don’t be, I’m glad you called me" the girl tangled your legs together, resting her head on the pillow, "Besides, it's a full moon, no wonder you couldn't sleep"
With that being said, you hugged her back, resting your head on her chest like you always did.
And within a few minutes you were asleep, the rhythm of her heartbeat lulling you into a slumber.
-
Derbies were always rough matches, especially when it was Arsenal.
As it was now.
Grace and you were both in the starting lineup, excited to play against the gunners - some of your national teammates.
"Ready to win?" you asked Gracie, the girl already staring at you with heart eyes (which was unnoticed by you).
"Ready whenever you are" she replied, smiling - an unspoken rule to have this small conversation while you waited in the tunnel - Grace always lined up behind you.
In the first half, both teams had their chances, sadly none of Tottenhams and thankfully none of Arsenals leading to a goal.
With Katie McCabe on your side, it was rather physically exhausting, the Irish woman challenging you in more than one way. Each time, Grace saw you hitting the ground, she was about to rip Katie‘s head off, only calming down when she saw you get up right away. Yet her anger was still very much present in the break. She was holding your hand tightly, in the need of your touch to reduce her anger.
In the first few minutes after halftime, Alessia opened the score, fueling more pressure on the team for the equalizer. The game got rougher and more physical as tackles came sliding in from multiple players.
When Tottenham was awarded a corner kick and it came flying in your direction, you jumped up, trying to head it somewhere near the goal. But instead of hitting the ball, you felt another head smack against yours.
Grace watched in horror as you went down while her legs started to work on their own - sprinting towards you. Blood trickled down your forehead, making the midfielders stomach twist. Multiple people were at your side, including the Arsenal player who caused your injury. She pushed everybody aside, kneeling down next to you, "Get the fuck away from my girl" pure venom laced in her voice as she shoved the gunner away, her full attention on you and you only. You had a nasty cut on your forehead, eyes barely staying open. You could hear your favourite voice talking, but you didn‘t understand what she was saying - was she even talking to you? All you knew was that her hand was holding yours. You knew her touch. You‘d always recognize her touch - no matter what.
"Mate, what‘s your problem?!" Katie McCabe snarled, matching her attitude while pulling her on her collar. "My problem?!" Grace jumped up, her hands bloody from holding yours, "She‘s fucking bleeding"
"And? Everybody hurts themselves. It‘s a physical game after all!"
"She‘s not just anyone!" with that she shoved Katie to the floor, all her anger bubbling over. Of course, the defender was up on her feet in less than 10 seconds, starting to shove Grace around, both of them yelling at each other.
Katie had to be held back by Leah and Kim while Beth and Ashleigh pulled Grace away who was still shouting at the Irish woman.
How dare she to say anything about you?!
-
Winning the fa cup against Manchester United was amazing and something massive. Tottenham made history that day. Unfortunately, Grace wasn‘t allowed to play yet that didn’t stop her from cheering for the spurs, especially for you. When you scored the opening goal, Grace thought her heart might explode with all the pride she felt and when Marta made it 3-1 in the 89‘. The deal was settled.
After receiving your medals and the pitch-celebrations died down, the team decided to go out tonight.
When you entered the bar/club, you were met with very loud but fancy music, people dancing everywhere and a few of your mates sitting at a table chatting. Not in the mood to dance just yet, you joined them, greeting everybody before taking a seat in Grace‘s lap - nothing new.
Her mouth fell open as she almost drooled at the sight of you, "you look- wow" she breathed out, completely in love with you.
"Thank you!" you grinned, " you don‘t look bad yourself" while checking her out the best you could - but indeed, she wasn‘t looking bad, she looked gorgeous.
"Do you want a drink?" she asked, squeezing your hips.
"Yes, that would be nice" you replied, making no move to get up, "don‘t you want to ask what drink I‘d like?"
"I know you quite well by now" with that she got up before gently guiding you back down in her chair.
While Celin tried to make conversation with you, you only had eyes for the midfielder, admiring her from afar. You frowned when a lady approached her and started talking to her. Your jaw clenched, chest tightening as you glared daggers into the woman’s head. What‘s her problem? the strangers hand touched Grace‘s arm as she discreetly stepped closer. "Someone is flirting with Y/N‘s girl" one of the girls teased, your friends laughing at her joke. That comment made your jealousy grow, your hands balling into fists as you tried to keep your cool. "Aren‘t you going to do something?" Charli asked, sensing your frustration.
With a huff you got up, marching over to the beast who was talking to the beauty.
Stepping between both of them, you leaned against the counter, "hi! I‘m her girlfriend and you are?" your voice sounded firm and stern, Grace taken aback by your statement and your sudden outburst.
"Sorry" the girl was quick to flee the scene, not wanting any drama as well because she was scared and intimidated by you and your presence.
After the girl was gone, Grace grabbed your hips, pulling your back against her front, "What was that?" she asked, her voice raspy.
"That creature was flirting with you" you replied stubbornly, crossing your arms as you tried to leave her touch.
"Stop" Grace grumbled, pulling you back, "relax" she ordered softly, her arms wrapping fully around your midsection. As on cue, you melted in her embrace, letting all anger flow away.
"So, what was that?"
"What was what? I just wanted my drink" you answered yet defensively.
"None of that, it‘s me" she whispered as you intertwined your fingers, "were you jealous?"
You sighed, "yes"
The young lioness froze, she didn‘t expect you to be straight up honest with her. She knew you had never lied to her and she wouldn‘t assume that you would ever lie at her, but she indeed thought that you would avoid admitting your obvious jealousy.
"I don‘t like it when other people flirt with you" you mumbled after you had turned around, looking at her.
Not wanting to push you any further, she kissed your forehead in responds before guiding you on the dance floor.
"They‘re disgustingly cute" Charli told Celin as they watched the two of you dance.
"And obviously so in love"

ii. and i never saw you coming, and i'll never be the same. | luke castellan | state of grace
sixteen-year-old luke castellan has his first kiss with you, the girl he'd been hopelessly crushing on for the last two years.
athena!reader x luke castellan. not canon compliant, no betrayal. happy ending luke :)
series masterlist | previous | next
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sixteen-year-old luke castellan was shooting daggers at annabeth right now while she playfully approached you, pretending to expose his crush on you.
“beth!” he hissed, making a ‘cut-it-out’ motion with his hands. chris chuckled softly from beside him, too entertained by the situation unfolding. luke jabbed his elbow into chris’ rib, unable to handle two of his so-called friends laughing at his demise. “annabeth, please don’t!”
that caught your attention. you turned around to see annabeth, a sheepish smile on her face as she awkwardly waved at you. you cocked an eyebrow before tilting your head to see luke, half-standing from the bench with a frozen expression on his face. chris was doubled over in laughter, nearly falling off his seat.
“come with me,” you placed both hands on beth’s shoulders, letting her lead you to the two hermes boys. you stood in front of them, removing your hands from beth and crossing them over your chest. you playfully pointed between the three of them, “care to tell me what this is about?”
“i think luke should tell you,” chris shrugged, making eye contact with annabeth. the two of them erupted in giggles and luke wanted the ground to swallow him whole. if it wasn’t for his friends’ actions, he’s sure it would’ve been the redness on his cheeks that gave it away.
“well, go on, head counselor,” you bit your bottom lip, finding his blushing face completely adorable.
you and luke got closer over the past two years since he got to camp. he was always around the athena cabin, at first because he wanted to be close to annabeth, but everyone knew that it slowly morphed into wanting to see you and hang out with you more. because he was always with you, the campers got to know him fairly quickly. luke was right– everyone did love you, and by association, the campers liked him too, or at least, tolerated him.
you were known to be the nicest head counselor, even before you took the position from oliver, known as the best archer in camp’s history, and the wisest daughter of athena. the more luke hung out with you and got to know you, the more his feelings for you developed.
in his defense, it was hard not to fall for you. he’d never met anyone as funny as you. every time he returns to the hermes cabin from being with you, his stomach hurts from laughing so much. you seemed to finish each other’s sentences so the punchlines of the jokes die on the tip of your tongues, but you’re both out of breath from laughing that not finishing the joke didn’t even matter.
you took care of everyone at camp, even if they weren’t your own siblings. he’d seen you bandage travis and connor stoll up one too many times and let them go instead of writing them up for one of their pranks. the boys would return to the hermes cabin, heads hanging low, with a look of short-lived apologies on their faces when luke asked them about why they had bandages on their forearms. luke pretended not to notice the knowing smiles the two troublemakers shared whenever he would say, you’re lucky counselor y/n was there.
you were fearless. you were often chosen to be a companion for quests because everyone knew you were the best. you never denied them and it got to the point where chiron and mr. d had to make a public service announcement that you were no longer allowed to go on quests unless it was your own because camp fell apart during the weeks you were away. the first time luke prayed to the gods, to his father, was when you returned from a particularly difficult quest with clarisse and you were in the infirmary for three days.
but above all that, you made luke a better person. you inspired him to always find kindness in everything. you cared so much about your siblings and the campers and it made him open himself up to care for his own siblings. he and chris were inseparable now and luke knew he probably wouldn’t have been ready to get close to other people if it weren’t for you. you pushed him to work on his sword work, helped him understand strategies, and taught him everything about camp. eventually, people took note of him and he became the hermes head counselor not too long after.
in between all of these things were luke’s favorite moments; like the calm minutes after hours-long training sessions, where you reveal something new about yourself. you’d go on and on about a random story that goes off into at least ten tangential stories, but luke didn’t care. he’d gladly lay on his stomach, letting the rays of the sun beat down on his back until his skin turned red and hot to the touch, to hear you talk. you’d roll over on your back or prop your chin on your open palm and ask him questions about himself. and luke would tell you things he’d never told anyone before. luke treasures these moments in his mind– small, happy memories, like a step-by-step guide on how to fall in love.
“they were just going to pull a prank,” he lied, ignoring the ‘thumbs-down’ motion annabeth sent his way and the ‘womp womp’ that chris let slip past his lips. “told them to quit it.”
“tsk, tsk,” you tutted, but there was no anger on your face, only fondness. you looked at annabeth, “i expected better from the daughter of athena, but you’re too much like your brother.”
“oh, ew, don’t say that,” annabeth shook her head, walking away as luke raised his hands in defense. chris pat luke on the back, following annabeth back to camp to join everyone else.
“i am offended that she is in her, ‘i hate my brother phase,” luke scoffed, shaking his head. he moved over to let you sit on chris’ previous seat. “i’m not that bad to warrant an ‘ew.’”
“she loves you,” you nudged him, letting your shoulder stay connected to his. “she’s exactly like you, even if she doesn’t admit it.”
“she’s got the good parts of me,” he replied, looking down at where his shoulder was touching yours. his hand slowly crept to yours, trying not to be super awkward about it.
he’d held hands with you before, when you’d mindlessly lace your fingers together underneath the table while you were talking to someone, wanting to feel him there, making sure that he was next to you or when you’d hold his hand during moments where he’d get so frustrated with the gods that you had to calm him down. but he always got nervous initiating it.
over the years, he’d grown to be strong and unafraid, but when it came to you, his resolve crumbled. with you, he was just a teenage boy with a crush.
“so, she’s got all of you,” you said, noticing his hand moving closer. you put a hand over his, flipping it over so you could properly hold it. you squeezed his hand making him rub his thumb across the back of yours.
“not all of me,” he turned his head to look at you, “i see parts of you in her, too.”
“you mean our mom.”
“no, i don’t,” luke replied, sincerity in his eyes. “i mean you.”
sure, annabeth was brilliant like the daughter of athena should be. she was always six steps ahead of everyone else and she quickly became your right-hand woman when coming up with strategies for capture the flag. there was no doubt that annabeth was a daughter of athena.
but there were so many parts of you, the person she looked up to the most, in her as well. annabeth was more patient than luke. she can explain things to younger campers, and sometimes older ones, a hundred times without getting frustrated that they weren’t grasping the concept. luke had to walk away so many times when he got frustrated. you’re such a hot head, luke, you said to him once, a teasing smile on your face as you ran your hands down his back to help him relax. beth also grew to read people well. she can hear the unspoken words in conversations and know exactly what someone needs, a heightened sense of emotional intelligence that luke knew she couldn’t have learned from anyone else but you.
there were other, simpler, things too; like how annabeth doesn’t tie her shoes too tightly, unless she was training or competing, so she can slip her shoes on and off easily, or how she tucks her camp necklace under her shirt just like you.
the look in luke’s eyes was intense. you had to look away before you lost your senses and connected your lips with his. he does this often, say things so nonchalantly like it didn’t make your breath catch in your throat. he says these words with such clarity, like the only things he’d ever been sure of in his life were the things he says about you or to you. it made your head spin.
“so,” you changed the subject, untangling your hands from each other to turn your entire body to face him. you poked his cheek with your index finger, “you gonna tell me the truth about what that was?”
“what’s that?” he asked, dumbly, trying to act like chris and beth didn’t just leave you alone with him. he pretended to think, rubbing his chin with his fingers, “dunno what you’re talking about?”
you groaned, dropping your forehead to his shoulder. you felt him wrap an arm around your torso, his chest rumbling as he laughed at your reaction. you looked up at him, temple pressed against his shoulder blade, “c’mon, luke,”
“no,” he shook his head, face turning red again, “it’s humiliating.”
“if i tell you a secret, can you tell me yours?” you whispered. luke shivered at the feeling of your breath hitting his skin. he felt the goosebumps rising on his arms that he had wrapped around you. you pulled your head away from him, creating more distance, “how does that sound?”
“no promises,” he replied, eyes darting to your lips for a brief second. he cleared his throat, “if your secret is a good one, then maybe i’ll consider it.”
“oh it’s a good one,” you said, mischief in your eyes. there were only a handful of moments where you let go of your head counselor persona, where you’d join the hermes cabin in wreaking havoc on camp.
his sixteenth birthday came to mind. you arranged for a surprise birthday party for him. he woke up to an empty cabin, which was rare, and camp was deserted when he left to grab breakfast. when he got to the dining hall, all the food prepared were his favorites and there was a messily painted banner hanging across the walls, courtesy of the art skills of the younger campers you taught during arts and crafts the day before.
the food wasn’t nutritional at all and mr. d made it clear that it would never happen again. i don’t know what i was thinking saying yes to an all-day sugar rush, he muttered after the third instance of young kids breaking their arms from attempting to climb up on their cabin roofs. maybe twinkies and salt and vinegar potato chips were not the healthiest breakfast foods, but luke thought it was perfect.
he received his present from you after, a messenger bag for the son of the god of messengers and a compass that always pointed him back to the athena cabin. so you always find your way home, you reasoned.
luke knew he didn’t need a compass to bring him back to you. his dad gave him the ability to always find his way back home and he was glad you knew that to him, home was wherever you were. on his sixteenth birthday, with you under his arm and the compass safely tucked inside his pocket, for the first time, he was thankful to be his father’s son.
that look of mischief in your eye always meant that you had something up your sleeve and luke didn’t know if he should be excited or scared. luke pressed, “tell me, then.”
“i have a crush on this boy,” you scrunched your face up, cheeks dusted with the lightest shade of pink.
he pursed his lips, heart dropping. he knew this time would come. he was thankful that he was spared from the boy talk that you engaged in with your other friends. he often heard you and silena squealing about some guy one of you liked and he was glad that you had other friends to talk to about it because he couldn’t handle you gush over another guy when he felt this deeply about you.
“it’s the new aphrodite kid, isn’t it?” luke asked, pulling away from you. “everyone is in love with him. even clarisse said he was cute! i personally don’t see it.”
you rolled your eyes, “luke, come on.”
“what?” he asked, “i’m pretty sure he’s not even a natural blond.”
you didn’t know if luke was playing dumb or if he genuinely didn’t realize that you were talking about him. you’d been blatantly obvious about how you felt about him, at least you thought you had been. you were always sitting beside him, choosing him to be your partner for head counselor activities, spent every free moment you had with him, and you were touchy with him, more than you were with anyone else at camp. at this point, all that was left to do was to spell it out for him.
you laughed, throwing your head back in laughter, “it’s not jack.”
“who then?”
“nope,” you said, shaking your head. “you gotta tell me your secret now because i told you mine.”
“that was like half a secret, angel!”
“okay so tell me half of your secret!”
“fine,” he relented, “i have a crush, too.”
your eyes widened, heart beating a million miles an hour. you knew how he felt about you, but you'd just been waiting for him to say something. “now, you have to tell me!”
“you first!” luke laughed, reaching out to grab you when you got up. you slipped past his fingers, walking away. “come back!”
your laughter filled his ears as you stood behind him. you wrapped your arms around him, propping your chin on his shoulder. luke nuzzled his head into the crook of your neck, letting out a content sigh. he tilted his head to the side, his lips ghosting over the skin of your arm.
you stayed like that for a few beats until he broke the silence. he should be upset right now because you liked a boy and wouldn’t tell him who it was, but it was hard to be mad when you were holding him like this. he looked up at you, a boyish grin on his face, eyes half open, “you gonna tell me?”
“it’s obvious,” you said, running your fingers through his hair. he purred under your touch, grabbing a hold of your arms to stop you from leaving his side. you weren’t planning to. “come on, luke. use that pretty little head of yours.”
luke tucked his face into the crease of your elbow, hiding his blush. he racked his brain for anyone else who you could have a crush on, but his mind ended up blank. when he thought of who on this earth could deserve you, he came up with no names. there was nobody who was good enough for you.
he changed his strategy. who did you hang out with at camp? he tried to think of the people he saw you with. he’s seen you with the boy from the apollo cabin a few times but that was usually only when one of your siblings got injured. maybe the boy from the hephaestus cabin? the one who made his sword? no, you only talked to him on luke’s behalf that one time when you noticed he needed a new sword because he broke it during a particularly intense training session with you. he frowned. the only guy you actually hung out with at camp was him. and that couldn’t possibly be… unless?
luke’s head snapped up, “do you like me?”
“do you like me, he says,” you mimicked, “took ya long enough.”
you placed a chaste kiss on his cheek before running away from him, giggling and blushing like a school girl. luke couldn’t react quick enough to stop you from leaving, too dazed at your rushed confession. when he snapped back to his senses, he jumped from his seat, using all his strength to chase after you. he was thankful for his growth spurt because he caught up to you before you entered the main area of camp.
he wrapped his arms around your hips, twirling you around, ignoring your sounds of protests. he stared at you as you beat on his chest, hair in disarray from the wind. his lips were in a full-blown grin, head spinning with thoughts of you. you. you. you. you were all he could think about.
he finally put you down but left his hands on your hips as you tried to fix your messy hair. he liked you like this, soft and shy. it was a part of you that felt like was reserved for him. usually, you took on this authoritative, caretaker role, always having the weight of responsibility resting on your back, but with him, in these secret moments, you were delicate. luke wanted to protect you from everything, not because he thought you needed his protection, but because he felt like he’d finally found his purpose in this life-- to be with you. it was still caused by the hands of fate but away from the meddling of the gods.
“you like me,” he teased, pinching the skin of your hips.
“don’t get cocky,” you replied, smacking his chest.
luke hummed, leaning closer, “i like you too.”
“i know,” you whispered, inching closer to him. “just wanted you to confess first.”
“c’mon angel, cut me some slack,” he blushed, eyes darting to your lips. he ran his tongue across his lips, “didn’t think i had a shot with you.”
“you need to start giving yourself more credit, luke,” you reached over to cradle his face in your palm. your eyes traced over his features, mesmerized by the pools of honey in his eyes, the pink of his plump lips, “you’re the best person i know.”
“all ‘cause of you,” there were those words again. there was no room for argument when luke spoke about you. he was sure of it, too sure of you.
“are you gonna kiss me or am i gonna have to make all the moves in this relationship?”
luke rolled his eyes, “shut up.”
he placed his lips on yours, unable to stop himself from smiling as you kissed back. he pushed you towards him, wanting to feel you closer. the kiss was short because you were both breathless and grinning. it was messy and uncoordinated with it both being your first kisses. when he pulled his lips away from yours, he placed kisses all over your face, your jaw, your neck, his curls tickling your skin.
eventually, he stopped in a fit of giggles, lips puffy and pink. there was a dazed look on his face, as if he couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. he let go of your hips but threaded your fingers together as you walked into camp, burying his face into your hair when he heard chris and beth hollering in support when they saw your intertwined hands and disheveled demeanors.

Your Love Story
Summary: The lead up to proposing to your girlfriend
Warnings: None?
Tumblr media
You came up behind her, and wrapped your hands around her waist before you rested your chin on her shoulder. She was talking to Leah, who was getting some things prepared before the rest of the team came over. You knew Leah quite well considering her and Lia had such a close friendship, you remember the night you asked Leah if she knew whether Lia was interested in marriage or not, she didn’t say yes, instead what she said was “You make her happy Y/N, like really happy, you have both been through a lot in the 2 years you have been together but not once have you butted heads. I watched you support her through her ankle injury and comforted her when she thought she might miss out on the world cup. God, you even comforted me when I found out I couldn't go to the world cup. And between you and me she has said she doesn’t think she has ever loved someone the way she loves you, and has never felt the way you make her feel. So if you ask, she will say yes.” Ever since that night, you started looking at engagement rings, showing Leah ones every now and then, until the day you found the perfect one and went with Leah to buy it, it was sitting in a hiding place at Leah’s house so Lia didn’t find out, you had asked her parents if it was okay if you could ask her the question and they were both ecstatic. The last step was to meet the team, and ask if they were okay with it. Leah told you it wasn’t necessary you knew that but wanted to ask as they were a family and if you married Lia you would become part of their family. Leah didn’t tell you, but she knew after hearing that the girls would absolutely say yes. It wasn’t hard to meet the girls, Lia had been asking you to come to team bonding nights for some time now, but you always had something on, she was delighted to hear you say yes, when she asked about this one.
____
Beth and Viv were the first to arrive, Lia went to open the door, whilst you helped Leah with the charcuterie board, her layout was offending you, so you fixed it.
“Woah, Lia, you never told us your girl was a model.” Beth said as she walked into the kitchen.
You looked up at her smiling kindly before saying “Not the model, just the designer.”
You were Stella McCartney assistant, that’s how you met Lia, at the Arsenal WFC x Stella McCartney Kit Shoot, you had just said hello and were making small talk, discussing the new kit design with her, when Stella came over, you had somewhere to be, so you said bye. You then DMed Lia on instagram and you started talking, one thing turned into another and now you were preparing yourself to marry her. You didn’t want to tell the girls too much about your work however you wondered if any of them might realise who you are, as Stella had recently done an interview where she was asked what made her company run so successfully and smoothly and she said you.
____
“Finally letting us meet your girl, are ya now Lia” Katie, your girlfriend's teammate, teased, as she found a seat on the couch.
“Would anyone like a drink?” Leah asked, many of the girls said yes so you went to help Leah, you could hear the girls talking to Lia but you couldn't actually here what they were saying, but it was safe to say it was about you, as when you and Leah reappeared with drinks handing them to everyone the chatter stopped.
Lia  was sitting crossed legged on the couch, body angled slightly sideways, you walked over to her handing her a drink, placing a kiss on her lips,  before sitting down in her lap, she wrapped her free hand around your body to keep you close. All the girls kept looking over at you and Lia, you just kept ignoring them.
Someone had decided to turn on the Arsenal Men’s premier league match which had resulted in a heated discussion on tactics, and you decided to just sit back and listen, however that changed when Katie suggested the most dumbest idea, and you quickly spoke up. An action you immediately regretted, as the team fell into a heavy silence, and remained like that for a lengthy period of time, thankfully it was eventually broken by Katie “Lia, your girl isn’t just pretty to look at” you blushed at her comment, not only did she just say you were pretty but she had complimented your tactical view.
“What can I say, she really is perfect,” you cringed at her sickly sweet comment, however deep down you really appreciated it.
____
You were in bed one night with Lia, she laid behind you, with you resting on her arm, whilst playing with the rings on her fingers, you couldn't fall asleep.
“Baby, are you okay?” she asked, wondering why you were playing with her rings, it was something you did only when you were nervous.
You turned around to face her, “do you want to have kids one day?” you looked into her soft eyes, asking the question that had been playing on your mind ever since you visited your sister and her family the other day.
“With you, absolutely” she replied back warmly, before moving a piece of hair out of your face and pulling you in for a soft kiss, you were happy with her response, so you turned back around, you both fell asleep in the same position every night, and you were the little spoon, even though you were taller.
“Love you,” You whispered before snuggling up and drifting off to sleep.
____
You’d gone back to Switzerland with Lia to see her parents, after a week Leah was going to join you both for a girls  trip, little did your girlfriend know that you were going to propose to her.
During your week with the Wälti’s you had managed to convince Lia to get a manicure for some self care, you both also got your hair done, it was an early Christmas present from her parents, who had ‘accidentally’ booked appointments for you both and not bought you gift vouchers, meaning after your nails you had to get your hair done.
It was the second day into your girls trip when you all ‘opted’ for a hike in the mounts, you somehow managed to convince Lia to wear a cute outfit for your so called hike
Lia was wearing a pair of black jeans, with a white t-shirt half tucked, and a light tan puffer jacket, over the top. Your outfit was similar, you too had a pair of jeans on, a white t-shirt and a puffer jacket, however your jeans were light blue and your puffer jacket was a cropped black one.
You stopped off at a seemingly random spot, to have a drink of water, putting your bags down as you admired your scenery, you stood behind your girlfriend, chin rested on her shoulder as you pulled the small box out of your pocket, you turned your head around to look at Leah who nodded, this was the moment, you stepped next to your girlfriend, “Li,” she turned to looked at you, her jaw dropped, “Will you marry me?”
“No” “No?” you asked slightly confused but also saddened.
“No, yes, yes, of course I’ll marry you, you’re perfect, literally, you are the best girl in the world. The girls kept telling me I needed to put a ring on it before someone else took you, but you beat me to it.”
You started crying, “I love you Li, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“I love you too,” you both pulled each other in, it felt as though sparks were flying as your lips connected.
Leah stood there grinning as she took photos and videos.
“Wait you knew,” Lia said as she looked at her best friend, “yes,” “for how long?”
“Since before I met the girls, I’ve had the ring before then too” You chime in.
“What. So this was never just a girls trip.” “No baby, of course not, I love you, I wasn’t going to wait any longer”

100% yes to a steph catley x child!reader series please!
only because you asked so nicely!
Tumblr media
steph catley x child! series
plot: when Steph met sunshine
warnings: mentions of death, cancer, Steph isn't with dean atm and a sad beth mead
Tumblr media
Steph wasn't planning on having children, at least not yet.
She was planning on finding a partner and then maybe have kids from then on like her childhood friends had done.
But one day she got a call from her agent from Arsenal to go see some of the sick kids at a local hospital with other teammates and that's when she met your sister.
Her room was the only room without hundreds of cards and only a small amount of toys she was way too old for now in her basket.
"Her parents might've cleaned it out" Beth shrugged as Steph, Viv, Stina and herself walked towards the room with a nurse who turned around at her statement.
"Just to warn you" she whispered, her smile she had dropping at the information she knew "This is Lara, her parent's died in a car accident when she was much younger, she's 16 now and suffers from brain cancer"
Steph's heart dropped at the woman's words as she looked up, catching eyes with Lara through the window that separated her room from the hallways.
"How long does she have left?" Beth asked as Viv wrapped her arm around her girlfriend, knowing this could be a soft subject for her.
"It's not looking good and with her only visitor being her sister-" "She has a sister?" Stina asked, her hands playing with her necklace "she’s a little ray of sunshine" the nurse smiled "She's gorgeous and is always putting smiles on everybody's faces when she visits"
The group started walking to Lara's room when Steph heard a childlike laugh through the doors as a little Brunette, just younger than four years old skipped through with a smile and an adult behind her.
"Nurse Cara!" she sang out, her small British accent making Steph smile before she entered Lara's room.
Compared to the other rooms she had been in it was bare but Lara seemed content as she waved to the cameraman who was shooting little things throughout the day.
"Hi Lara these are some of the players from-" "Arsenal I know" she smiled, her dimples appearing "I'm a bit of a fan" Steph laughed "Good I thought you were about to say you were a blue"
"never"
Beth sat on the end of the girl's bed "Did you watch the latest game?" she asked and Lara nodded "Congrats on your come back" she smiled and Steph thought she could see Beth's tears water.
But the room was interrupted by a knock "Sorry to interrupt" a small voice called and Steph recognized it as the little girl who had run in before.
"Hey sunshine" Lara smiled and you ran to her bed, trying to climb up before you gave up and turned to the woman who was sitting next to Lara's bed.
"Can you help me?"
Your voice soft and not at all nervous as Steph looked at you "me?" she asked and you nodded, lifting your arms up for the woman to lift you up onto your sisters bed.
"Sissy!" you squealed, crawling to your older sister who was inside her bed.
At the sight Beth got up, quickly excusing herself from the sight before her tears fell down her face, Viv and Stina following as it left Steph alone with the two girls.
"This is Steph she plays for Arsenal" Lara smiled and you looked at the TV where you would usually watch the football your sister loved so much.
"I like Chelsea" you shrugged and your sister gasped "What?" Steph exaggerated and you giggled, hiding your self into your sister's neck "Has pretty girl name" you continued to giggle.
Steph smiled sadly as she watched the two sisters get along, knowing that you didn't know how much time your sister had left, but Steph did leave with one positive thought that night.
She became a regular at the hospital, sometimes you were there and sometimes she would sit and chat with Lara, bringing her signed jerseys and telling little inside stories, Steph found some comfort in the girl and some of her younger self, especially whenever you came in.
"Lara's the best big sister ever!" you exclaim one night as Lara falls asleep "She's been sleeping a lot lately," you say after with a frown and Steph nods "She just needs some rest," she tells you as you yawned "do you need a rest too?" she asked and you nodded, climbing onto Steph's chair and getting comfortable in her lap, cuddling into her neck as she smiled.
Lara woke up to the sight of Steph holding you, a smile finding it's way to her face as she did.
She knew she didn't have much time left.
"She really likes you" Lara spoke up softly as Steph jolted, thankfully not waking you up "I didn't mean to scare you" Lara smiled and Steph laughed softly
"I remember you telling me she never met your parents properly" Steph said and Lara nodded "she was about two weeks old, my pa's dad was looking after us and they got into an accident on their way to pick us up" Lara told Steph as she nodded
"I'm all she has left" a tear escaped Lara's eye, Steph leaning over to wipe it away "I've been fighting for her but it's so exhausting I'm not sure I can anymore" Lara cried.
And that's when Steph made her first ever promise
"She'll have me."

Can I request prompt no 20 with arsenal women team(platonic ), reader and Kyra mischievous as usual but suddenly gets hurt and lia and steph having to take them to doctor
Tumblr media
"Ow Kyra"
arsenal x reader
warnings: injury, blood, stitches
You and Kyra Cooney-Cross, two peas in a pod, were notorious troublemakers within the Arsenal Women's Football Team. You were both Australian and joined Arsenal at the same time. You were a year younger than Kyra, which you used to your advantage when Steph said she should be the more responsible one. From harmless pranks to playful banter, you two were always at the center of mischief, much to the amusement (and occasional exasperation) of your older teammates.
The dynamic between you and Kyra was one of camaraderie and playful rivalry. Both of you shared a love for the game and a mischievous spirit that often led to antics both on and off the pitch. Whether it was sneaking extra snacks from the team's stash or pulling pranks during training sessions, you were always in cahoots, causing chaos wherever you went. Some of your favorite pass times included poking Steph and nutmegging Viv.
Your antics were endearingly annoying to the older players, who often found themselves on the receiving end of your playful teasing. But despite the occasional scolding, they couldn't help but smile at the youthful exuberance and infectious energy you brought to the team.
Today, during a routine round of mischief, disaster struck. As you and Kyra engaged in a spirited game of keep-away with Caitlin's water bottle, you stumbled over your own feet and collided with a nearby equipment rack. The impact sent you sprawling to the ground, a sharp pain shooting through your head as you made contact with the unforgiving surface.
"Oi, watch it, you two!" Beth Mead, called out from where she almost ran into you while doing a drill with Leah.
But as you attempted to push yourself up from the ground, you felt a warm trickle of blood run down the side of your face, and suddenly, the world around you blurred into a haze of pain and confusion.
"Y/N, are you alright?" Kyra's voice cut through the fog, her concern evident, although she was also holding back a laugh, as she knelt beside you. After you didn't respond right away she called out, "I think y/n broke her skull."
"What," came Lia's voice as she was immediately by your side turning you over to asses the wound. "She's not broken her skull you idiot, just might need a couple stitches. How did she even manage to hit her head on that."
"I swear we weren't doing anything dangerous this time, she's just clumsy and tripped. Must have spent too much time with Less again," Kyra replied while you were grumbling and moaning in pain on the ground.
"Kyra, give me your shirt," Steph said as she appeared on your other side. Kyra knew not to argue with Steph when she gave her that glare and handed over her training top which Steph immediately applied to the wound.
"The trainers are all inside helping the girls in the gym, so I think it's best if we just take her right to the ER," Lia said as she was talking to Steph.
As Lia and Steph helped you sit up, you couldn't shake off the throbbing pain in your head. With Kyra hovering anxiously beside you, you tried to muster a smile to reassure her, but the pain made it difficult to focus on anything else.
"Sorry, guys," you muttered, feeling a pang of guilt for causing such a fuss.
"Don't worry about it, y/n," Lia said, her voice calm and reassuring. She was like your team mom and you were really grateful for her in this moment. "Accidents happen."
Steph nodded in agreement, her expression serious as she gently guided you to your feet. "Let's get you to the hospital and get that looked at, yeah?"
With Lia and Steph's support, you managed to stand, albeit unsteadily. The world still felt like it was spinning, and the pain in your head seemed to intensify with each passing moment. But you were determined not to let it show, not wanting to worry your teammates any further.
You got into the back of Lia's car with Steph sitting in the back with you continuing to hold the shirt against the wound, hoping you don't loose top much blood and pass out. Lia drove as fast as she could in the London traffic to get you to the hospital. Kyra brought a wheelchair to help you in since you were still really dizzy.
Once in a room they immediately gave you pain meds, making you a little loopy. "Will you sit me with me Lia," you whispered to the girl next to you as you were starting to get sleepy.
"Of course, and try to stay awake the doctor will be here in a minute to give you your stitches."
As the doctor arrived to administer the stitches, you tried your best to stay awake, the pain meds making you feel drowsy and disoriented. Kyra's laughter echoed in the background as she recorded the whole scene, her playful teasing providing a brief moment of levity amidst the chaos.
"I'm going to have a badass scar. The chicks are going to dig it," you mumbled sleepily, a faint smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
Lia chuckled softly, her hand resting reassuringly on your arm. "You're going to be just fine, y/n. And besides, scars are just proof that you're a tough little warrior."
As the doctor finished the stitches and the pain meds began to take effect, you felt yourself drifting off into a peaceful slumber, safe in the knowledge that you were surrounded by friends who cared for you deeply.

you can't keep secrets from us
Tumblr media
arsenal wfc x reader
more of a blurb because i'm tireeeed.
r has a secret girlfriend. the team finds out, and they are NOT pleased.
-----
You didn't know the hickey was there, truly. You would have to be stupid to knowingly go into the locker room and change in front of your teammates with a hickey on your chest. Anyone would have been made fun of but you? It would be 1000x worse if it was you. You had been with the team for years, since you were 16. Now, you were 19, yet everyone still treated you like the kid you'd been when you'd arrived.
The moment Katie's eyes fell to your upper chest, voice fading out, and you looked down to see what she was staring at, you knew you were fucked. You were thought briefly of throwing a shirt on and taking off out of the locker room, but then everyone would just chase you, and it would be even worse. So, you stood silently, wincing as Katie's loud, loud voice filled the room.
"What is THAT," she shouted, and the locker room went silent around you.
"What's what?" Beth asks, spinning you around. Her jaw drops. You don't blame her; it's ridiculously large, and you make a mental note to scold your girlfriend when you get home. "Who did that to you!" Beth shrieks, and you cover your face with your hands, feeling blood rush to your cheeks.
"You are too young for hickeys, too young for sex," Leah begins, marching over to glare at you from a shorter distance.
"Guys, I don't need a lecture," you say pathetically, bringing your shirt up to cover the mark.
"Well maybe if you hadn't come into the locker room with the worlds biggest hickey," Katie muttered.
"Was it a one night stand?" Alessia asked, and you shoot her a glare. She only smirks mischievously in return. As one of the younger girls, you'd have hoped she would have your back.
"Yeah, y/n, you pick someone up at a bar?" Kyra calls, and you resist the urge to throw something at her. There is a strict no-throwing-things-at-Kyra rule, one that everyone has to fight hard not to break, every day. She just really bring it out in everyone.
You pull your shirt on, finally, but you're boxed in at your locker, surrounded completely by Beth, Leah, Katie, and a silent yet nauseated looking Steph. Steph was your only hope, the only one who you believed could really reign in the others' teasing. You looked pleadingly at her. Just as you're sure Steph is going to tell everyone to leave you alone, Viv speaks up.
"Maybe she has a girlfriend?" She placates. The look on her face tells you she thinks she's being helpful, but her words make the locker room go quiet once again.
"No, no way. She would have told us if she had a girlfriend." Leah scoffs, before her eyes widen at the look on your face. You're completely caught out, and you know it.
The 4 girls surrounding you let out a collective gasp, and Katie drops onto the bench dramatically. Caitlin places her hands on her shoulders, and sighs as if she's just found out she lost a loved one.
"I think I might pass out," Katie says, leaning into Caitlin.
"We'll get through this together, as a team," Caitlin declares.
You roll your eyes at their dramatics, but Steph's hands are on your shoulders, and you're no longer hoping she'll protect you. Instead, you're beginning to think you need to be protected from her.
"Tell me you don't have a secret girlfriend," Steph begs.
"I don't have a secret girlfriend," you say automatically and Leah wacks the back of your head. "Okay okay! She's not a secret girlfriend, I just hadn't mentioned her yet," you say, and the room goes into an uproar. Everyone is asking questions over each other, and you couldn't possibly answer them all.
"Who is she?"
"Are you being safe?"
"What's her name? First AND last!"
"What does she look like?"
"How old is she?"
"What does she do?"
The onslaught of questions is interrupted, thankfully, by Kim and Lia walking into the room. They'd been talking to Jonas, and they'd left the locker room in relative calmness, which is not what they returned to.
"QUIET!" Kim yells, once again bringing silence.
"What is happening?" Lia asks, looking worried.
"SOMEONE has a secret girlfriend, and showed up with a huge hickey on her chest." Leah responded automatically, and you sigh. You shouldn't have come today. You shouldn't have even gotten out of bed.
Lia and Kim look at you in disbelief. Then, Kim goes to the door, and shuts it. They both turn to you.
"How could you keep this from us?" Lia asks incredulously. You groan, looking at Kim as your last hope.
"Can we meet her?" she asks, lips tugging into a grin. The captain has spoken, evidently, and now everyone is grabbing for your phone, and the questions resume.
You groan, sitting down heavily on the bench.
"ALRIGHT. One question at a time."
Surprisingly, it's Kyra's voice that breaks through first. "Is that why you kicked me out last night? So you and your secret girlfriend would have time to fu-"
"KYRA" you shout, interrupting her. She smiles innocently at you, and now the whole room just looks disgusted. Leah raises her hand next, a stern expression on her face that you recognize as the face she makes when arguing with refs. You point to her, gesturing for her to speak.
"I have 5 questions. Should I ask them all together, or one at a time?"
It was going to be a long day.

bookworm
Tumblr media
leah williamson x reader
request: either Leah, Lucy or Sam.... married to a writer, someone who's name is well known but face isn't . (could be a pen name) ... the relationship isn't know.... reader comes to a game, the team sees reader and thinks Player should shoot their shot....
the book mentioned is by ciara smyth and i recommend reading it
———
For as long as anyone has known her, Leah Williamson was a known bookworm. Her parents have bought countless books once she’d learned how to read. If she wasn’t playing football, she was reading a book.
Away matches? Reading on the coach or plane, Leah will always be found with a book on her person. Everyone teased her about it, but she always gave recommendations on her favorite reads.
Her close friend, Lia Wälti, did tease her at first, like the rest of their Arsenal teammates, but one time during training, Leah left her book on the lounge chair by the pool when Jonas called her over for a chat. Lia picked up the book to inspect it.
“The Falling in Love Montage by Billie Keynes.” She mumbled, reading the title and author.
By the time Leah comes back to her chair, she sees someone else occupying it, her book in their hands.
“Would it be possible to get my book back?” Leah asks, casting a shadow over Lia.
“Shh. I’m a bit preoccupied.” Lia lifts a finger up to Leah, not taking her eyes off the page she is on.
“Uh, that’s my property.”
“And I’m currently using it, so wait your turn.”
Over the next couple of days, Lia is seen with the same book that Leah had. Some of her teammates ask about it and eventually a a good number of them started reading the book.
Another couple of days later, the team is winding down by the pool at the training ground, all reading the same book.
“This is a really good book Lia. Thanks for the recommendation.” Steph complimented, other gunners agreeing.
“Uh, excuse you all. I have been reading that first. Lia stole the book from me. Had to buy a new one.” Leah complains, eyebrows furrowed.
“Shush. It’s not a competition.”
Leah makes a face of offense.
“Actually, since you’re here, does Billie Keynes have any other books? Preferably with more lesbians.” Beth asks.
“Oh, I’ve got a whole list. I’ll send it in the group chat.”
Two weeks later, they were back on the pitch, ready for a new season. Leah sat behind the bench, still healing from her injury.
After the match, Lia walks over to where Beth and Leah stood.
“Hey! Good game, played well!” Beth hugs the Swiss.
“Thank you, but did you see the girl that was reading a book the whole game?”
“Leah wasn’t reading?” Beth looks at Leah, confused.
“No, not Leah. She’s, uh, she’s right there, just walking off.”
“Huh. Weird.”
Over the next few games, including the ones away, more and more of the team took notice of the girl who reads during the match. Always in the same section, same row, reading a book. Even some fans recognize her, being posted on social media by the team’s administration.
During a team bonding, the team decided to play a bit of truth or dare. One having to eat a spoonful of Vegemite, jump in the pool, tell their biggest fear.
The bottle then landed on Leah, being spun by Katie, who had a mischievous look on her face.
“Oh, no.” Leah was sweating, she didn’t like the look on the Irish’s face.
“Now, we know how much you love to read. You’ve turned some of us, not me, but some of us into avid readers, but there’s one that could rival you as a bookworm.”
“Get on with it, will you!” Leah was impatient.
“I dare you… to go up to the girl that’s always reading during our games and ask her out. On a date.”
So now here she was, walking over to the section after the game against City. She walks in small strides, trying to take longer than she needed to, looking back to see her team huddled together watching her.
“Hey.” She says, when she reaches the girl, who was, no surprise, reading a book.
“Leah.” You replied, not taking your eyes off the book.
“Listen, I was dared to go up to you and talk to you.”
“So, you’ve said last night.”
“Let me finish woman.”
“Okay. I’m sorry.” You give an amused smile at the pout on her face.
“Would you like to go on a date? We’ve not gone on one yet this week.”
“Yes, only if I pick where to eat.”
“But, babyyyy.” She whines. “You know I’m picky.”
“That’s why I want to pick. You can’t deprive your tastebuds from flavor.”
“But—”
“Ah ah.” You interrupted. “Pick me up when you’re done.” You lightly pat her cheek and walk towards the exit.
“So?” Katie questioned, wanting to know what happened.
“She rejected me.” Leah replied with a sullen pout.
“Oof. That sucks mate. Thought she’d be the one for you.”
A month passed since the date was executed. Everyone seemed to forget about it, still seeing you in the stands, but no one paying you any mind.
It was a team bonding night. Everyone agreed to have it at Leah’s place tonight. The thing is, everyone knew except for Leah. On purpose? Only Katie knows.
A loud and heavy knock scares Leah from where she lay on the couch. She cautiously walks to the door, looking through the peephole, eyes widening at the sight of her whole team.
“What are you all doing here?” Leah opens the door just a bit.
“It’s team bonding night. Be a dear and let us in.”
Katie hadn’t waited for an answer and let herself in, the rest following after.
“So, what do you have planned?”
“Didn’t think that far ahead.”
“Actually.” Beth butts in. “Did you guys hear that Billie Keynes is releasing another book?”
“Wait. Really?”
“Yeah, in like a week.”
Lia was looking around her friend’s house, snooping more like it.
“What’s it called?”
“I Think—” Lia’s answer gets cut off as she pick up a book from Leah’s shelf. “Leah?”
“Yeah?”
“How do you have Billie Keynes’ new book before it’s been released?”
Leah’s head whips towards Leah so fast that her head could’ve popped off its socket.
“Uh-well-I-um—”
The sound of the front door opening and shutting cut off her stuttering, leaving everyone else to stay silent, not knowing who else it could be. You walk into the living room, freezing at the sight of Leah’s whole team.
“Hey, you’re the girl who reads during our games.” Beth breaks the silence.
“Uh, hi.”
“Wait.” Katie turns to Leah. “I though you said she rejected you.”
“Well, you see—”
“Oh my god! Where’d you find that? I’ve been looking for it everywhere.” You grab the book out of Lia’s hand, flipping through the pages. “My agent almost killed me cause I thought I lost it.”
“Huh?” The team were now confused.
“It won’t be released until another week. It would’ve been horrible to lose it.”
“How do you have this then if it hasn’t been released yet?” Beth questioned, confused.
“I mean when you write it, you get special privileges.”
“Wait, wait, wait. Hold up. What do you mean by that?”
“It means how I said it.”
“So you’re Billie Keynes?”
“It’s a pen name. My real name’s Y/N Y/LN.”
“That’s so cool.” Alessia speaks up for the first time.
“You’re like our favorite author.”
“Aw. That’s so sweet.”
“How’d you come up with Billie Keynes anyway.”
“Well, people named William are sometimes called Billie and my wife is from Milton Keynes.”
“Leah! You made me dare you to ask your wife on a date?”
“Yeah. Thank you for that. I’ve got some bonus wifey points for it.” Leah had a smirk on her face, making the team groan and you slap her lightly on the arm.
“Since we’re teammates of your wife, could we get some special privileges?” Beth asks, hoping you know what she means.
“I’ll even sign the book for you.”

PAINTBALL | ARSENAL WOMEN X READER
Tumblr media
pairings: arsenal women x reader
summary: in which you're involved in a chaotic paintball battle with your friends
warnings: none
✦ ——— ✦ ——— ✦
Beth gasped as you shoved Katie down, taking a hit to the chest.
"I've got her!" Katie yelled, dragging you to safety and checked your pulse. "She's still alive!"
"Of course she is," Viv mumbled, taking aim and shooting Leah in the leg as she ran into the open. "This isn't a real battle."
You sat up, giving Katie a thumbs up. "Just paintball, Katie."
Beth shrieked as a series of paintballs hit the towers behind her and Viv, both of them ducking down.
"Give it a shot." Katie nudged you with her gun and you nodded.
Rolling onto your knees, you poked your head above the small fort and spotted Kyra with two paintball handguns. "What! Where did she get those? Not fair."
You closed one eye and aimed before pulling the trigger as three paintballs shot out and hit Kyra along her shoulders and arms. "Ha!"
"Get down!" Viv chided you three, getting back to her position. "If you stay up too long, you'll-"
A pink paintball was splattered behind them with paint flying everywhere and added to the array of colours in Viv’s and Beth's hair.
"AH!" Viv swore under her breath in Dutch.
"Viv, no! Wait!" Beth tried to grab Viv and pull her down, but she was already standing and shooting randomly at where Kyra, Leah, Caitlin, and Lia were hiding.
Caitlin jumped up and made it one step forward before paintballs were pelted at her everywhere. And while everyone was distracted targeting poor Caitlin, Kyra rolled out, aiming her gun and shot Viv in the chest.
"Vivi, nooo!" Beth dramatically wailed out.
She yanked Viv down, half cradling, half strangling her while Viv tried to break free. "Oi! Let me go! I'm fine! I'm not dead!"
Beth wiped away a fake tear. "In the world of paintball, you are."
As Viv rolled her eyes at Beth's melodramatic display, the three of you huddled together, plotting your next move. The battlefield was filled with laughter and shouts as paintball pellets whizzed through the air.
You wiped a streak of paint off your cheek and exchanged determined glances with Katie and Beth.
"We need a strategy," you said, your voice low. "We can't let them take us down one by one."
Katie nodded, her eyes scanning the field. "Let's focus on Lia and Caitlin first. They seem to work well together, and if we eliminate one of them, the other will be easier to handle."
Beth sniffled theatrically, still cradling Viv. "Vivi, my love, we shall avenge you! We will paint the field with the colours of victory! Your sacrifice will not be in vain."
Viv couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. "Just make sure you actually hit them, unlike the sorry attempt you made to save me."
The three of you broke into laughter, and once the giggles subsided, you set your plan into motion. Sneaking through the field, you took cover behind barricades and crates, moving stealthily towards Lia and Caitlin's position.
As you approached, you signalled to Katie and Beth to be ready. With a coordinated attack, you emerged from cover, firing a series of paintballs at Lia and Caitlin. The two opponents fought valiantly, but your combined assault overwhelmed them.
Lia was the first to go down, her colourful attire now adorned with splatters of paint. Caitlin, still defiant, tried to retaliate, but Beth, channelling her inner warrior, charged forward and unleashed a flurry of paintball fury. Caitlin's resistance crumbled, and she joined Lia in paint-covered defeat.
"Two down!" Katie exclaimed, exchanging triumphant high-fives with you and Beth. "Now, Leah is next."
You regrouped, strategising your approach to take down Leah, who was proving to be a formidable opponent.
“You can’t get me, losers!” Leah yelled out as she sprinted away from you.
“Don’t be so sure about that!” With a combination of flanking manoeuvres and coordinated attacks, you managed to corner Leah. And with a well-aimed shot, she had no choice but to surrender to the colourful onslaught.
“Hah! Take that, Williamson!” You jumped in joy while Leah playfully glared at you as she was dramatically sprawled out on the floor. “Who’s the loser now?”
Your little victory was cut short when dramatic gasps were heard from Beth and Katie. While you’d been busy with Leah, Kyra had taken the chance to sneak up behind those two and had surprised them with a rapid blast of paintballs.
“Gotcha!” Kyra exclaimed, grinning at her successful ambush as those two went down. “It’s only me and you now, Y/n!”
The battlefield was now eerily quiet, with only the distant sounds of laughter and shouts from other ongoing matches. You and Kyra were the last ones standing, facing off against each other.
"Ready to surrender, Kyra?" You called out, crouching behind a makeshift barricade.
Kyra's laughter echoed across the field. "Not a chance, Y/n! I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve."
The two of you engaged in a lively exchange of paintball shots, dodging and weaving through the obstacles. Paint splatters filled the air as the vibrant colours painted the battlefield. The tension between you and Kyra was palpable, but there was also a shared sense of enjoyment in the competition.
As the battle raged on, you managed to catch Kyra off guard with a well-timed shot. A burst of laughter erupted from your lips as the paintballs landed on her, covering her shoulders and arms.
"I gotcha, Kyra!" You exclaimed, revelling in the sweet taste of victory.
Kyra dramatically staggered, clutching her chest in mock defeat. "Noooo!"
Theatrically, she collapsed to the ground while your teammates rushed to join you, cheering and celebrating the hard-fought victory. Beth and Katie, still covered in paint, embraced you, and Viv playfully patted you on the back.
"You did it, Y/n!" Beth laughed. "You've avenged us all!"
You then approached Kyra with a playful grin, offering her a hand. "You put up a great fight."
Kyra took your hand, pulling herself up with a grin. "You too, Y/n. You got me this time, but I won’t let you win next time."
The two of you chuckled and joined your friends, huddling together for a group photo that you no doubt would cherish deeply.

MISS AUSTRALIA (PART TWO)
Tumblr media
Katie McCabe x Aussie! Chelsea! Reader
Warnings: Smut 18+, jealousy, praise kink, semi-public sex, coarse language, Chelsea mentions, little age gap, humiliation, drinking.
Masterlist
______________________________
You don't know what coerced you to spend the night in Katie McCabe's bed, but it felt amazing.
Chelsea's loss against Arsenal sent shockwaves through the WSL side of social media, with a skyrocket of tweets spreading the news regarding the Blue's greatest defeat in five years.
It was not a surprise to see your name mentioned in thousands of these messages, and your connotation to Katie hadn't seemed to surprise anyone either. Lots of people were reeling over the interactions between the two of you on the field, but you wondered what their reaction would be if they found out what happened off the pitch.
Somehow, you didn't want to know.
Despite the thrashing you received from Emma, you, Jessie, Erin, Millie, Sam, and Guro all found yourselves in a pub in North London. It seemed hypocritical — the location — but the vibes were good, and it was a well-known, crowded bar, so the chances of you being seen were slim to none.
While Jessie was the designated driver for you that night, the rest of the girls didn't hesitate to start drinking. You were playing with the straw of your third vodka cranberry, savouring the taste between your teeth, smiling at the quips and jokes the girls would pose, checking the time on your phone as the hours passed later in the night.
"I just know I'm going to regret this tomorrow." Guro sighed, shooting down the last of her drink before standing up. "My shout now, what do you all want?"
Sam and Millie ordered a bulk of shots. Jessie and Erin chose the drinks they had before. You shook your head towards Guro, lifting your half-full drink that you were still nursing.
Sam wrapped an arm around your shoulder, waving Guro off. "You've been on the same drink for an hour. C'mon, have a shot with me."
You glanced across the table to find Erin shuffling a deck of cards. Jessie was on her phone, leaving you sandwiched between Bright and Kerr. You were a football player, an athlete, but you weren't as bulky as your two Chelsea companions. You tried hard in the gym, and anyone could tell that it paid off, but too many drinks would sway you in the wrong direction.
"Are you old enough to drink?" Millie asked, half sincerely, ruffling your hair when you gave her a pointed glare. "I'm only joking, Kid."
"I'm twenty-two. I just like taking care of my body." You spoke with a huff, throwing your arms over your chest, eyes dancing between your two skippers.
"Oh, and all those hickeys are taking care of you, are they?" Guro retorted, Erin's smirk matching hers as she returned with the tray of drinks. You watched her slide a shot towards you, which you took instantly at the looming eyes on your neck from your Australian Captain.
"Since when were those there?" She swooped, her hand reaching out to poke at the marks. You hissed, the exposed blotches still sensitive, shrinking in your seat as all five of your teammates caught your reddening cheeks.
"Fresh ones, eh?" Millie grinned.
While the girls found this new susceptible mystery a highlight of the night, Sam continued to prod at the marks, her protectiveness prominent by the furrow in her eyebrows.
"Who gave you those?" She let out, and you felt your face flame up.
"I'm not talking about it."
"You didn't have them this morning." Guro quipped, earning Jessie to push her scoldingly, feeling slightly sorry for the interrogation you were receiving.
"Jesus, y/n/n, I didn't know you had it in ya—"
"— had what in her?" A voice called out from beside the table, making each of your friends move their eyes away from you and to the source.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck, you thought. Great, just your luck.
Katie was standing behind Beth, who was linking elbows with Jordon Nobbs. Caitlin, Leah, and Steph all stood among them, Steph being the one who spoke.
"Nothing. Where's Ky?" You sounded, your voice meek underneath the prying Arsenal eyes.
"Wrong side of London, Skipper." Caitlin laughed.
Sam rolled her eyes. "Good drinks, though."
You shuffled across the lounge you were sitting on, attempting to maneuver yourself over Jessie's lap to escape. You felt a hand grip the back of your skirt, causing you to plop on one of Jessie's legs.
"You can't just avoid the conversation."
"Sammy, stop." You squirmed over Jessie, who used her hands to lift your waist up. "Where's Kyra?" You asked again, hopelessly avoiding the Irish woman's levering eyes. She was watching Jessie's hand on your waist; how her fingers played with the hem of your top as you battled to fight Sam's hand away. Katie noticed how Jessie spread her legs out, engulfing your body weight more comfortably, as if she was used to having you in that position.
The Irish woman wanted to mock the playful whines that left your lips as everyone questioned what the two Australians were fighting over. She caught sight of the bruise she had left under your ear, recalling the heavy whines and desperate breaths that followed as her lips lapped over the delicate skin. The mark offered Katie some comfort in your current situation. The grand display of pink smearing across your freckled cheeks was admirable to most, but Katie found you much more pleasurable when you beat red at the sound of her voice, when you were grinding against her knee, not Fleming's.
"She went to the bathroom, I think." Beth Mead spoke, her friendly, maternal smile glowing back at you. "Actually, she could be anywhere. 'Can never sit still, that girl."
"Alright, let me go check."
You didn't wait for anyone to stop you, stumbling off Jess' lap, head spinning from the alcohol running through your system. You could handle your liquor to some extent, but it was after this that you went beyond tipsy. Your journey to the bathroom was quick, wasting no time to find your best friend, wherever she may be.
The cubicles were all empty. You tried calling out her name, calling her on your phone, but the little shit didn't answer. The pub was now reeling with people, with all levels of tipsy and drunk being shown by the dancing of the crowd. You were struggling to find your way back to your girls, forgetting the way you came. You gave up trying after five minutes, turning around and opening the bathroom doors once more.
Your breath hitched in your throat when you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist, pushing and pinning you against one of the cubicle doors. It slammed shut, your back planted against the wood. You felt your hands fondle together, your heart racing at the hungry, lustful eyes of the woman in front of you. Her breath fanned over your face, causing your lips to fall agape, a loss of words leaving you speechless. It wasn't long until Katie's lips were on your neck, this time on the opposite side, nibbling on your pulse point.
"You really can't hold it in, can you?" She uttered, her accent rasping as she spoke. You groaned at the notion of her fingers latching onto the top you were wearing, tugging it in warning before discarding it on the floor.
"What?" You sighed, hands wrapping around Katie's neck as she lifted you up, gripping your thighs as they swathed around her waist.
"On Fleming's lap, Kerr's hand on your arse. Are you always so desperate for attention?"
She wasted no time in moving her lips down to your breasts, freeing one of her hands from your thigh to massage the one she wasn't sucking.
"Katie—"
"Shut up."
You grind your hips against hers, hoping it will relieve the growing tension between your legs. With your bra still on, Katie laughs at your flushed state, pushing up the fabric of your skirt so it would bunch up against your hips.
"Did you shake everyone's hands?" She asked, her lips leaving your chest to move up to your face. She hadn't ever properly kissed you, so she made sure to hover as she waited for a reply, her fingers slowly squeezing the column of your neck.
You nodded, still trying to gain some friction, but were met with nothing. The only noise that came from your lips was a whine. Katie shook her head, kneading your thigh as she rubbed her nose up against yours. The action was intimate, but somehow Katie found a way to make it sensual.
“Use your words, Baby.” She made a point of tapping your neck with her finger, toying with your skirt as her hand crept up your thigh.
“I- mh… I did, Katie.”
“Good Girl.” She whispered, and you pushed your lips forward to catch the girl in a kiss. You were grateful she reciprocated with just as much force, asserting her dominance by bringing her hand up to your lips, dragging your bottom lip down, making you audibly cry out.
“You like that, do you?” She chuckled, her hand inching closer to your heat. “Had to shake everyone’s hands before getting off on my thigh, didn't you? Had to make sure you did as you were told.”
“Katie, please—”
“But good girls don't sit on other people’s laps, do they Baby?” She whispered, ghosting her hand over your underwear. “Answer me.”
“No, Katie.”
You pushed your head back against the door, groaning as Katie ran one of her fingers through your folds teasingly. Your legs gave way, no longer trying to hold yourself up around Katie’s waist. Despite the lack of warning, the Irish woman wasn't fazed at the sudden shift, instead using it to her advantage.
“Look at you… so desperate for attention. Is that why you landed on top of me today? Bent over for me and everything in a sold-out stadium weren't you?”
You felt her hand rub your clit, making you squirm. “You tripped me.” It was a whisper, but Katie heard it all the same.
Her eyebrows raised. “I did. But you went off before I could show everyone how well you could take me.”
Without warning, she slipped two of her fingers into you, gnawing at your neck as she thrust in and out of you rhythmically. You moaned, and blushed furiously because of it.
“Does Fleming touch you like this?”
“Can you fuck off about Jessie for one second?”
Katie scoffed, adding another finger, inserting her fingers into you until her knuckles were kneading your clit. You moaned at the sting, crying out when Katie didn't wait for you to adjust. She did this for a while, and you felt the coil in your stomach churn as she curled her fingers inside of you, slamming them as deep as she could, resonant and rigid strokes leaving you writhing in ecstasy.
“Katie— Katie—”
She stopped, her fingers leaving you clenching around nothing. You were so close, feeling your high fizzle out the moment her fingers moved to her lips.
“I asked you a fucking question. ‘Spose you just get too dumb when you're being fucked.”
You whined, your hands clawing her biceps, beyond annoyed by the way she left you. “I- Jess and I are friends.”
“I bet Fleming wasn't too happy when you scored that double against her in the World Cup.”
You gaped at Katie, legs shaking and lips puffy. “You definitely weren't when I scored against you.”
Katie was off you now, standing against the bathroom sink, watching as you tried to fix your skirt.
“What happened today then, hm? Miss Australia lost her touch as soon as she was bent over.”
“Stop calling me that. And I wasn't bent over, you tripped me!”
“Did I tell ‘ya to fix your skirt?” She ordered, crossing her arms over her chest when you sauntered in front of her.
“You’re not the boss of me, McCabe.”
“Then how ‘bout you show me some personal autonomy and get yourself off?” She quipped, lust flooding her eyes. She propped herself on the sink, watching intently as your eyes widened at her suggestion. It seemed that all of your prior confidence had dispersed.
“I'm not doing that in here.” You muttered, suddenly repentant of the setting you were in.
“You nearly just came on my fingers. What's the difference?”
Whatever dominance you seemed to gain over Katie didn't work, the woman making no sign of backing down from her proposition.
“I— Katie… I'm not going to beg.”
She simply hummed, causing you to sigh. You were desperate for a release ever since that afternoon when you had been too stubborn to get off her knee, feeling the desperation of your hormones haunt you ever since. The thought of getting yourself off in front of the girl you hated so much made you squirm. The thought of someone walking in and seeing such an illustrative sight would've sent you into a frenzy.
But all of these thoughts dispersed at the sight of Katie in front of you, leaning against the mirror with her signature smirk. You reeled in the jumper she was wearing that hit the veins and muscles of her arms you always looked at during games. You noticed the crumple of her trousers, where you had inevitably been. Her hair was sweaty, her cheeks tinted at the sight of your unruliness. It made you repent. It made you want Katie even more.
“I want you.” You stated matter of factly, walking forward so that you were standing in between her legs.
“Do you now?” She looked down at you possessively, pretending to be in deep thought.
You nodded. She leaned in, taking hold of your chin. “Beg for it, Baby.”
She moved down from her place on the counter, dragging you to face the mirror. Pushing your hips against the cool marble surface, you watched as Katie caged your figure, sucking gently on your shoulder, taking her sweet time to reach your preexisting hickeys.
“Please, Katie, I need you so bad.” You whined, feeling her hips grind into you from behind. “I need you, you— you make me feel so good. Want you really bad.”
“Mhm, what else, baby?” She continued to place wet, sloppy kisses up your neck, licking across the new bruises, smirking at the mess she was turning you into.
“Wanna feel you inside of me. Wanna cum so hard from your fingers and your mouth, everything. Just want you to touch me, use me. Please use me, Baby, I‘ll do anything.”
The nickname she had been calling you fell from your lips before you had the chance to stop yourself. You knew that Katie would never let you live this down, but, for utterly selfish reasons, you made sure your voice was extra whiny, extra innocent, hoping your plea would help you get off.
Katie stopped kissing you, turning you around and smashing her lips up against yours. You knew your begging had worked when her fingers worked their way back into your underwear. When she entered two of her fingers this time, you weren't surprised at the lack of warning. Instead, you relished the feeling of pleasure shivering through your body. You moaned as her knuckles grazed over your clit, her hips pushing her further into the counter, making you lean back on your elbows.
“Bent back for you, Baby.” You moaned, hoping she’d keep going if you were louder. “I want to be— wanna be good.”
“That's it, nice and loud for me. Wanted me so bad you needed to beg. Good girls get rewards; don't they, baby girl?”
You groaned as she pounded into you relentlessly, her spare hand holding your hips in place as you neared your high. Katie felt your walls clench around her fingers, the wet juices of your arousal squelching in and out, coating Katie’s fingers. The sound of your wetness, alongside your moans, echoed throughout the bathroom, earning Katie to groan and the smell of sex surrounding you two.
“I’m— close.” You chocked out, feeling your clit grow sensitive as Katie’s knuckles pinched it hard.
Katie groaned, the sight of her head falling back bringing you to the brink of falling over the edge. “Ask nicely.”
“Please, Baby, I need to so bad. Want to cum around your fingers, please? Please, Baby.”
“Be a good girl for me, baby girl. Let it out. Show me who makes you feel this way.”
You felt Katie thrust into you harder and faster, causing you to let go of the pent-up climax closing in on you.
She continued to hit your G-spot deeply as you rode out your high, feeling your orgasm leak all over her fingers and into her hand. You cried out at the relief of it all, trying to catch your breath by settling into your elbows. You found Katie watching you recover, her lips swollen and eyes fully blown in euphoria at the sight of you post-sex. Her hair was messier than before, her smirk widening as you tried to stand up properly, whining when your legs violently shook.
She kissed the alcove of her neck, taking off her jumper to reveal a vest that displayed her arms in the perfect way.
“Should've taken that off before.” You managed to breathe out, accepting the way Katie scooped you up onto the counter, grabbing tissue paper and running it underwater, letting you fix your clothes up. You did this by putting your shirt back on and fixing your underwear.
“Put that jumper on.” She muttered, moving over to you, using her hands to open your legs. She began to clean up your thighs, which had been covered in sweat and arousal that couldn't have been concealed underneath your short skirt.
“Why?” You sighed at the cool temperature of the tissue, turning the top half of your body to face the mirror, nearly choking on air when you saw the number of hickeys decorating your neck.
“Oh my fucking god, Katie. I've got training tomorrow!”
Katie straightened up after cleaning you, flushing the tissue down the toilet. She walked up to stand between your legs, smiling at the bruises littering your neck and chest.
“Will Fleming be there?”
You scoffed, observant of the way Katie rubbed your thighs. “Obviously.”
“Then I've done my job well.”
You tried to hide your smile by picking up your phone, eyes bulging when you saw the missed calls from Kyra.
Now you were fucked.

Playing Favourites II
Arsenal Women x Child!Reader
Summary: You know how to get what you want
Tumblr media
Leah kidnaps you again.
Now that she's nearly back from her big knee ouchy she's been driving up to see you lots and more often than not she takes you home with her.
Her teammates are at her house a lot too so you learn how to give them puppy eyes to get what you want.
The most susceptible to this is Alessia.
You're warmed up to her and, when you spot her at the little dinner Leah's brought you to at your favourite Lia's house, you immediately bolt to her.
"Lessi!"
"Bean!"
She lifts you into the air, throwing you up for a moment before catching you again.
"Alessia!" Leah cries from the doorway where she stands with Jen and Kim. "Be careful with her!"
"Lessi's careful!" You insist even though Alessia's put you back down and is hurrying you into the kitchen.
Laura and Vic are standing there, staring at a bowl of pizza dough half in awe, half in confusion.
Lessi drags a chair with her to the countertop and helps you stand on it.
"Alright, bean," She says, forcing a lump of dough into a circle," What do you want on top?"
"Er..." You look over the different options. "This one. This one...And this one!"
"You better not be overfeeding her, Lessi," Leah interrupts as she wanders over," I've got to put her to bed tonight."
"My Nonna always says that the best way to sleep is with a belly of warm food."
"Food, Leah! We're making pizza!" You look so unbelievably excited to have pizza that wasn't from the freezer that Leah can't help but sigh.
"Not too much, bean," She says, dragging a finger over your cheek as you sprinkle more cheese over your pizza," You could get a tummy ache."
You give her an unimpressed look. "We're making pizza, Leah. Don't need to think about my tummy."
Leah shoots a flabbergasted look at Alessia, pointing an accusing finger at her. "You're turning her Italian! I think I preferred it when you two didn't get along!"
"Mummy says just because you don't have friends doesn't mean that I can't," You say, turning back to your pizza and letting Vic help roll up your sleeves.
"Bean!"
You end up with your whole pizza as you sit snug between the better Lia and your Leah. You slap at your sister's fingers and bare your teeth when she tries to grab one of your slices.
"Can I have one, bean?" Lia asks and you stick your tongue out at your Leah and pass one to Lia. "Thank you."
"That's not fair!" Leah complains as you push her away again.
When she reaches for you for the third time you clamber away to Lia's other side and squish between her and Kyra.
Kyra smiles at you and drapes part of the blanket she's using over your legs.
"So, bean," Jen says from across the room," Are you excited to be a mascot tomorrow? Do you know who you're going to walk out with?"
"Er...Don't know."
"You'll need to make a decision soon," Leah reminds you," So I can put you in the right jersey tomorrow."
You still make a noncommittal noise as you survey the assembled girls. You tug at Kyra's shirt.
"If you give me chocolate, then I'll walk with you."
"Oh! Whoa! Wait a minute!" Beth interrupts before Kyra can agree. "I can get you a bigger chocolate bar than Kyra."
You shrug. "I guess I can walk with you."
"A chocolate bar and a milkshake," Katie says, holding her hand up," I think that's a better offer."
The other girls start shouting their own bribes and Leah looks at you with disbelief. You're lapping up the attention, flitting between each girl as they promise you grander and grander things in return for just walking out on the pitch with them.
By the time that the match has circled around and you're dressed up in your Arsenal shirt, it's Lessi who has won with the promise of a chocolate fountain and a whole Happy Meal after the game.
As Leah watches you walk out and glances back at the chocolate fountain waiting to be put in her car, she kind of wishes that you hadn't come out of your shell around Alessia and just stuck to someone like Viv or Lia, who knew not to make such outlandish promises to you.
But, whatever she's promised you, you look especially happy to walk out with Lessi and scamper over to Leah as soon as the game begins, arms raised for her to pick you up and bundle you in a blanket.
Your happy mood dampens quickly though when the girls can't seem to get it together and go one-nil down in the first fifteen minutes. They manage to just about keep another goal out but it's clearly a struggle.
"Hey, Laura," Leah says as soon as the team heads back to the locker room in shame," Do you mind taking the bean to get some snacks?"
You look at her suspiciously. "You don't let me get snacks."
"I don't let you eat chocolate either, bean." Leah ruffles your hair," But somehow you've fine angled your way into a chocolate fountain. Quit while you're ahead." She waves a wad of cash in front of you and you snatch it out of her hand and grab Laura.
While you're both gone, she hurries off to the changing room, slamming the door open. "Get your heads in the fucking game! The bean's in the crowd and I will be damned if you lose in front of her!"
"It's not that easy," Katie scoffs," None of us expected them to put all of their effort in attack."
"Are you professionals or not?!" Leah demands, throwing her hands up in the air in anger," Look, it'll be embarrassing enough losing like this but do you want to make the bean upset? She'll cry. She'll definitely start crying and then she'll tell Mum and Mum will never let us see her again. Is that what you want? To not see the bean again?"
"We get it," Beth grumbles," We'll get it together. You don't need to guilt trip us with your baby sister."
"Good." Leah points her finger at each of them in warning before heading back out to the box again.
You've got a hot dog in your hand and you're sipping at a fizzy drink when she gets back. You smile. "Did you tell them that I'll cry?" You ask.
Leah ruffles your hair. "Make sure you do if they lose."
"Okay," You reply, taking another bite of your hot dog," Do I get a McFlurry at Maccies if I do?"
"You can extort everybody but me," Leah reminds you," Don't forget who taught you to do that."
You look a bit annoyed at that but just moodily take a bite of your hotdog instead of arguing.
As it turns out, you don't really need the waterworks because the girls pull it out with a healthy 2-1 win and you make your way down onto the pitch riding on Leah's shoulders.
"Look at that!" Katie says in triumph as she approaches," Just needed a good old Williamson talk and we were golden."
Leah rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's not make that a habit."
"We might need the bean at every match," Jen says, helping you down from your sister's shoulders so you can run off to Alessia and Kyra.
"Ha! Good luck explaining to my Mum where her youngest has run off too."
Katie grins. "I can be very charming."
Leah rolls her eyes again. "Maybe don't use that line with my parents."

beautiful, crazy (she can't help but amaze me) | leah williamson x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leah is always there to tell you how beautiful you are. You don't think much of it.
or
The five times Leah tells you you’re beautiful and the one time you finally do something about it.
; fluff
I.
You don't know why Leah likes to stare at you randomly. You figure it’s simply because the girl likes to space out and of all the times you catch her doing so, Leah just happens to be spacing out in your direction.
Yeah. That must be it. Why else would Leah be staring at you?
Although with the amount of times you’ve caught her recently, that reason isn’t making a lot of sense anymore.
And it’s not that you mind Leah’s staring (you don't mind anything Leah does), it’s just that you always seem to be doing stupid things whenever Leah’s gaze is on you.
Like last week, you were baking some brownies when Leah decided to join you in the kitchen counter with her book. You were sure that Leah spent more time looking at you than her book and it resulted in your brownies being too sweet (Alessia said she was going to instantly get diabetes after one bite and Katie couldn’t stop coughing because even sugar doesn’t taste this sweet, y/n).
(Leah, on the other hand, happily munched on her slice, saying that it was the best brownies she had ever eaten.)
(You had an ear-splitting grin on your face the whole day.)
You can’t count how many times something like that has happened and you don't know why, but you do know that it will keep on happening if Leah can’t stop looking at you.
Now, you’re at training and Leah is on the other side of the field but you can feel her eyes on you. And so far, you’ve tripped once but you’re able to brush it off because no one (but Leah) is paying attention.
It goes smoothly after. You decide that the only way to focus is to forget about Leah’s presence and just focus on your game.
You hear Beth shout your name, passing you the ball. You receive it and turn towards the goal. Too easy. Until you stupidly glance to your left and lock eyes with Leah. Leah who is running in your direction and is about to tackle the ball away from you, but you don’t care because her eyes are so blue, even from a distance, and you always do feel like floating whenever you catch a glimpse of those baby blues.
The next thing you know, you’re on the ground, your ankle throbbing in pain. Thank god it doesn’t feel like anything serious.
“y/n!”
You hear worried voices asking if you’re okay but all you can focus on is the feel of familiar soft hands on you.
“y/n, hey, you okay?” Leah is crouching down next to you, her hands rubbing comforting circles on your shoulder. “I would say I’m sorry, but you tripped on your own feet, love. I haven't even caught up to you yet.”
Leah shoots you an amused look and you feel your cheeks heat up.
“Yeah…” you give her a sheepish smile. “I’m okay. Something’s wrong with me today. I can’t seem to focus.”
Leah shakes her head and helps you up. “Well, you did perfectly. As always.”
“You think so?”
“Of course, beautiful girl. Now let’s get you some ice.”
II.
It’s one of those days. You wake up with a blaring headache, you forget to give your dog some food before going to your team photoshoot, and you leave your good luck charm in the shape of a bear keychain at home.
It isn’t a good day.
Your teammates are taking their turn in front of the camera and you’re still in the dressing room. You don't feel like you’ll do your best today and you’re afraid of disappointing everyone.
You hear the doors open and see Leah enter the room from the reflection in the mirror. You don't know why your heart starts beating irregularly at the sight of the blonde.
“Hey, l/n. You’re up next.” Leah informs you.
You smile at her through the mirror. “Okay, I’ll be right out.”
Leah comes closer until she’s standing behind you. Leah is close enough that you’re able to catch a whiff of her perfume and you start to feel the familiar warmth in your chest whenever Leah is near.
“You seem tense,” Leah says, her hands going up to massage your shoulders. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah…” you trail off. You hope Leah can’t tell that you’re lying.
But Leah has always been able to read you like an open book. “You’re lying.”
You laugh. “I was lying, wasn’t I?” you bring your hands up to Leah’s that are still on your shoulder and give it a squeeze. “It’s just not my day today. I think the biggest worry right now is Ted.”
“Ted?”
“My lucky charm? You know him. I left him at home.” you pout and you hear a giggle coming from the blonde behind you.
“Ah yes. Good ole Ted. Are you worried that you won’t do well without it?”
“Leah,” you sigh, grabbing the lipstick in front of you and applying some more on your lips. “It’s my lucky charm, I know I won’t do well.” you see a frown make its way to Leah’s face and you turn to face her. “Why are you frowning? You’ll get wrinkles.”
Leah rolls her eyes at you, a fond smile on her face.
“What?” you grin at her. “It’s true, you know.”
Leah rolls her eyes again, that damn smile still on her lips, and you smack her arms playfully.
“Love,” she starts. “I just don’t like how you’re doubting yourself just because of a bear.”
“Excuse me, it’s not just a bear.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Leah tucks a strand of hair behind your ear and you can’t understand why you’re suddenly so nervous. “You’re very beautiful, darling. You don’t need a lucky charm for a simple photoshoot.”
“I appreciate you trying to make me feel better,” you smile at her. “But I’ve always had it with me. I don’t even know how I forgot about it. I swear I had it chained to my bag.”
Leah looks deep in thought for a few seconds until you see her face lights up. “I can be your lucky charm then.”
“What?” you’re laughing until you see the serious look on Leah’s face. “You’re serious about this.”
Leah narrows her eyes at you. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
You hum, your finger tapping your chin in thought. It doesn’t make sense to you how a person can be someone else’s lucky charm. But seeing Leah’s excited face, you decide to try to make sense of it all. “You do realize that if you’re going to be my lucky charm, you’ll always have to be with me.”
The grin Leah gives you makes you feel that no amount of bear keychains can give you the luck of being on the receiving end of Leah’s smile.
“Duh. I know. I’ll be there for everything.”
“That’s a big promise, Leah.”
“And I’ll keep it.”
III.
You wake up on a Sunday at 5 in the morning—it’s a routine. You would then pour yourself a glass of whatever juice is in the fridge and drink it all in one go before changing into your running clothes to run for an hour or two. And once you get back to your shared apartment with Leah, you would cook yourself breakfast and eat it alone because Leah likes to sleep in on Sundays and wouldn’t be up until at least a few hours later.
You enjoy your peaceful Sunday mornings.
Today though, instead of coming home to a quiet apartment, you find Leah in the kitchen with music blaring from her speakers—it's loud and you’re almost positive that you’re getting a complaint from your neighbours later on.
A curious look makes its way across your face because you know Leah likes to sleep in on Sundays. So it’s definitely a surprise to you to see Leah up and about on a Sunday morning instead of tucked away in her bedroom.
“You’re awake.” your voice sounds more like a question rather than a statement.
Leah turns around and you see the biggest grin on her face. You find it to be the most adorable sight to come home to.
“I am! I’m cooking breakfast.”
“You are?”
“Hey,” Leah narrows her eyes at you. “What’s with that tone, missy?”
You go to take water from the fridge (you mostly want to hide the automatic smile that appears on your face). “What tone?”
“Like you can’t believe that I’m actually cooking breakfast.”
You take a sip of your drink and lean against the counter. “I’m just surprised that you’re awake, that’s all. It’s Sunday.”
“Well, I am awake and I’m cooking breakfast,” Leah points a spatula at your face. “Come help me.”
You nod. You can never resist Leah, especially when Leah is wearing the pyjamas that you got her (it has tiny ducks on it) and the baby hair falling out of her messy ponytail is making her look so, so endearing. “Let me shower first.”
“Good idea, you smell.” Leah says, her voice teasing.
“Oi, Williamson!” you warn.
Leah turns back around to face the stove. “I’m kidding. You still smell nice even after a run.”
“Now I know that you’re lying.”
Leah laughs. “I’m not!”
“Sure,” your tone doesn’t sound convincing. “Even though I don’t smell, I still need to shower because I look terrible right now.”
You see Leah stop her movements. She puts down her spatula on the pan and faces you again. This time, you see a scowl on the blonde’s face.
“I think you’re really beautiful right now.” Leah’s voice is soft, almost like she’s too afraid to say it out loud.
You can feel your cheeks heat up. “I’m not. It’s okay, you can admit it. I won’t get offended.”
Leah steps into your personal space and you feel your breath hitch at the close proximity. “I mean it when I say you’re beautiful, y/n.”
No matter how good Leah smells in the morning (like fresh flowers and mint and candies), you shouldn’t be thinking if Leah’s lips taste as good as she smells.
“Leah.”
“Hm?”
You swear you see Leah’s gaze drop to your lips, but you decide that it’s just your mind playing tricks on you.
“I have to… uh-” you clear your throat. Leah is still staring at you. There’s something in her gaze that you can’t quite place and you're scared of what it means. “I’m gonna shower now.”
“Okay, smelly.”
You slap Leah’s arm. “You just said I wasn’t smelly!”
Leah’s laughter echoes throughout the kitchen. It’s your favourite sound. “I’m kidding!”
Just before Leah turns back to her cooking, she places a kiss so gentle on your forehead and you’re left to wonder what it would be like to feel Leah’s lips on your own instead.
IV.
You know all the drawbacks of being famous. So an incident of overhearing someone talk about you in a negative light isn’t uncommon at all. You would like to say that you’re used to it, but it never gets easier.
“That’s really y/n l/n?”
“I can’t believe it either. She looks different.”
“Good different?”
“Hah. I’m not even gonna say it. Don’t wanna be too harsh.”
You sink further in your seat as you listen to a couple of girls talk about you two tables away. You look at your phone, trying to drown out all the noise.
y/n: where are you? your drink’s melting
y/n: like olaf
Leah: I’m in front of you ;)
You look up and you’re met with Leah’s smiling face. You can’t help but exhale a breath of relief at having Leah there.
“Olaf? Really?”
You shrug as Leah takes a seat in front of you. “Here’s your coffee. I’m pretty sure all the ice has gone.”
Leah takes a sip of her drink, scrunching her nose the moment she tastes it. “You’re right. Tastes like Olaf.”
You simply roll your eyes in response.
Leah places her drink back down and reaches out to touch your hand. This isn’t uncommon for you—Leah’s hands always seem to find yours. “Sorry for making you wait. Alex was supposed to give me a ride since I wasn’t driving today, but she forgot about me so I took the tube.”
“You… took the tube?” your tone is full of disbelief and you can’t help but laugh at the offended look on Leah’s face.
“It’s not my first time on a tube, why do you sound so shocked?”
“Did you get lost?” you have a teasing smile on your face.
Leah takes another sip of her drink before replying. “I didn’t.”
You hum. “That’s why you’re late, isn’t it? You got lost.”
“I didn’t!” Leah whines, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.
“Don’t be embarrassed.”
“You shouldn’t be talking,” Leah leans back in her chair and points a finger at you. “You’ve never been on the tube.”
“I have!”
Leah throws her head back in laughter. “When?”
You’re about to reply when you hear it again. You hope that they won’t repeat what they said about you because you know just how protective Leah is.
“Is that Leah Williamson? She looks amazing.”
You see Leah’s signature smirk on her face, her eyebrow raised. You have to agree with that one. Leah does look good (she’s wearing a simple white t-shirt and jeans but to you, she’s still the prettiest girl in the café).
“Right? I still can’t believe that’s actually y/n l/n though. She used to be so gorgeous, what happened to her?”
You inwardly cringe at that and you know Leah heard it too with the way her coy smile quickly drops from her face.
Leah abruptly stands up from her seat and your eyes widen. “Leah,” your tone is full of panic. “Sit down.”
You can see how angry Leah looks. You quickly grab Leah’s hand and give it a squeeze in hopes that it can calm her down.
Leah looks down at your hand then back at your face. Leah looks conflicted and you understand what the blonde is feeling—you would do the same if the roles are reversed.
“Leah, forget about it, okay? It’s not worth it.”
Leah takes a deep breath and she finally sits back down. “How can I just forget about it? y/n, they’re—”
“They’re nobodies,” you interrupt. “Their opinions don’t matter to me.”
Leah is quiet for a moment. She then holds your hand in hers again. “Promise me that you won’t remember what they said once we step out of here?”
“Sure, darling.”
“y/n,” Leah sighs. “I know these kind of stuff gets to you sometimes—”
“But I’ll be fine.” Despite your reassuring smile, Leah doesn’t seem convinced. So you lean forward and pinches Leah’s cheeks, hoping to earn a smile from the blonde. “Why do you look so sad?”
Leah swats your hands away but you can see a smile starting to form. “Because, you-” she groans in frustration. “You’re the most beautiful girl and I hate that people think otherwise.”
You look amused at Leah’s answer. “Not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you.” you see Leah about to protest so you quickly put your hand up. “But. Your opinion is the one that matters, so it’s the one I’ll always remember, okay?”
“Then please always remember that I think you’re really beautiful.”
“Okay, sweet cheeks. I will.”
(Leah glares at the girls as you exit the coffee shop, her arms around your shoulder protectively and you know that it’s too late to stop yourself from falling.)
V.
“Is that a new lipstick?”
Your eyebrows quirk in surprise at Leah’s question. Leah is seated on the couch and you’re confused how she's able to tell, especially since you just entered the living room a minute ago. “Yeah, how’d you know?”
Leah shrugs, a small pleased smile on her face. “You’ve never worn that shade before. It looks good. You’re so beautiful.”
You take a seat next to Leah, your heart hammering at Leah’s answer. “You notice.”
“Of course I do.” Leah replies like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
You hope she won’t be able to tell just how much effect her words have on you, but it all goes out the window when you hear Leah’s soft giggles next to you. “You’re blushing. So cute.”
You don't know how to reply, you’re mostly afraid that if you open your mouth what comes out would be something that you shouldn’t be saying. So you turn your attention to the TV and you both watch in silence, Leah’s arms brushing against yours every now and then.
You keep on thinking about why you’ve been wanting to say a lot of things to Leah lately—something that isn’t entirely appropriate to say to a best friend.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.”
“Why is it that your face is the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I think of before I close my eyes?”
“Does your lips taste like how I imagined it to be? Like mint—or cherries, since that seems to be your favourite lip gloss nowadays.”
“I think I’m in love with you.”
“y/n?”
“Hm?”
“I said, do you want to watch something else?”
You look at the TV then back at Leah. Honestly, you have no idea what's playing. “No, this is good.”
“Are you sure?” Leah asks. “You don’t seem interested.”
You see the unsure look on Leah’s face and you reach out to caress her cheek. You feel like you’re about to pass out with the way Leah is looking at you.
“I’m very interested, don’t you worry.” you reply, your eyes never leaving Leah’s face.
Leah smiles (your favourite, the one that causes her eyes to shine and puts the stars in the sky to shame) and you feel those words on the tip of your tongue.
“I’m definitely in love with you.”
VI.
The first thing you do after the realization that you’re in love with your best friend is to avoid said best friend at all costs. This means no more weekly meetings at your favourite coffee shop (you call them meetings but Leah would always correct you.
“Just call it a date, y/n! Meetings sound so formal. You don’t only see us as teammates, don't you?”
“What? No. You’re one of my best friends.”
“Then it’s a date.”
You don't think friends go on dates but you keep quiet).
You also don't text back straight away every time Leah texts you, instead you wait a couple of hours. You rarely come home to the apartment—staying most nights at your mom’s place instead. And during training, you talk to everyone but Leah.
If Leah finds it odd, she doesn’t say anything.
Now it’s Saturday again and you’re thinking of ways to tell Leah that you, once again, can’t make it to your weekly coffee dates. But it’s been a month and you’re running out of excuses.
Last week you said you had to help your mom try a new recipe, the week before you said that Kyra had an emergency and she needs you, and you're sure that you’ve used the excuse of not feeling well before (maybe twice).
You know Leah is smart, she’ll figure out sooner or later that you're avoiding her—that is, if she hasn’t figured it out already. And you don't think you’re ready if Leah confronts you about it.
Just a few more weeks. You just need to avoid Leah for a few more weeks and hopefully whatever feeling you have for her will be non-existent and you’ll be back to having weekly platonic coffee dates with her.
Just as you will yourself to stop thinking about the blonde, a text pops up on your phone.
Leah: Hey where are you?
You take a deep breath before replying. You need to quickly think of a reason to not meet her today.
y/n: at my mom’s. why?
Leah: ok
y/n: …?
Leah: I’m coming over
y/n: what??
Leah: Is that a problem
You feel yourself panic. You don't think you’re ready for a confrontation.
y/n: I have plans tonight
Leah: okay? it’s still 3pm
The only thing you know is that you need Leah to not come over. You’re really not ready to have her standing in front of you. You’re scared that you won’t be able to think clearly and will do something insanely stupid (like tell her that you’re very much in love with her).
So you type the first thing on your mind.
y/n: yes, but I need to get ready
y/n: I have a date
Leah: a date?
You close your eyes, hoping that Leah will give up and just tell you that she’ll see you next time. But you should’ve known that Leah is persistent.
Leah: I’ll help you pick an outfit
Leah: Be there in 10
You curse at your inability to keep Leah away, but you’ll be lying if you say that you’re not excited to see her.
-
Leah doesn’t arrive until half an hour later. You’re in your childhood bedroom when you hear the doorbell ring, immediately making your heart speed up. You don't make a move to leave your room; you stay rooted until ten minutes have passed and you finally decide that maybe, it’s time for you to make your way downstairs.
The first thing you notice once you exit your room is the sound of laughter. Leah and your mom are close—something that fills your chest with warmth every time.
“Sweetheart! Leah here is just telling me about how she almost set the kitchen on fire.”
You can’t help but smile fondly at the memory. “Thank god I was there to save our kitchen.”
“Oh yeah,” Leah smiles at you and you feel like fainting. “Thank god for you.”
“Hi.” you say, standing behind the couch where both Leah and your mom are seated.
“Hi back.”
“Leah says you have a date,” your mom mentions and you freeze. “You never said anything about a date, did you sweetheart.”
“Right,” you scratch the back of your neck. You hope your voice doesn’t show how nervous you are. “A date. I do have that. Tonight.”
“With who?” It’s Leah who asks and you know you’re screwed.
“Just someone…” you trail off.
You see a flash of hurt on Leah’s face and you’ve always hated when Leah is anything but happy. So you squeeze Leah’s shoulder and try your best to smile reassuringly at her even though all you want to do is run far, far away. “Aren’t you going to help me pick an outfit?”
Leah nods. “Of course. You’ll look beautiful in anything but let’s pick the best outfit so your date will be blown away.”
You motion for Leah to follow you, quickly kissing your mom on the cheek before you leave upstairs. You feel yourself getting more and more nervous with each step towards your bedroom.
You try to convince yourself that there’s nothing to be nervous about; Leah has been in your childhood bedroom before. But when Leah immediately throws herself in your bed the moment she enters the room, humming as soon as her head hits the pillows, you know that you do have a right to be nervous.
You can’t screw things up between the both of you, but that’s exactly what you want to do, looking at the sight of Leah in your bedroom, acting like she’s at home.
You open your wardrobe, staring at the few clothes in front of you. “Honestly, there’s nothing nice here, since all my outfits are pretty much at our place.”
“Then why aren’t you getting ready at home?”
You freeze for a second but quickly regain your composure. “I had lunch with mom earlier, might as well get ready here.”
“You still haven’t told me who you’re going on a date with,” Leah asks, you note the tenseness in her voice. “I didn’t even know you’re seeing someone.”
“It’s uh, it’s new.” you stammer, distracting yourself by inspecting the dresses that are on the rack.
You hear Leah shift and the next thing you know she’s standing next to you.
“Let’s see,” Leah hums, her hand tracing your dresses until it lands on something. “I think this one.” Leah takes out a black spaghetti straps dress that lands on your thigh. You have no idea why out of all the dresses in front of you, Leah has to pick that one.
“This is the dress you wore in Ibiza, right?” Leah asks, her eyes roaming around the black clothing.
You nod in reply. “Should I try it on?”
Leah hummed in approval and you silently sigh because you really can’t say no to her. You take the dress and are about to walk to the bathroom when Leah speaks. “I’ve seen you naked all the time, cheeky. Why are you getting all shy now?”
Your eyes widened at the comment. “W-what?”
“What?” Leah asks back. “We’ve changed in front of each other all the time.”
“Well, yeah, but…”
“But?”
You swallow nervously. What Leah said is true, but now you’re a mess of feelings, particularly regarding the blonde in front of you. “I’ll change… here… then.” you relents.
Leah goes to sit on the edge of your bed and look at you expectantly.
“But can you like,” you huff. “Close your eyes or something.” Leah lets out a laugh and you whine. “Leah, I’m serious.”
“Alright, alright.” Leah is still laughing but she places her hands over her eyes. “There. Happy?”
You quickly change into the dress Leah picked. You look at yourself in the mirror, the dress fits perfectly, your hair falling down your shoulders in messy waves.
“Can I open my eyes now?”
You snort, forgetting that Leah still has her hands over her eyes. You walk until you're in front of the English skipper and remove Leah’s hand from her face.
“How do I look?” you ask, posing with her hand on her hips.
Leah doesn’t answer straight away, her mouth staying agape for a few seconds until you have to snap your fingers to get her to say something. “Hey, Williamson?”
You see Leah blink a few times (there’s a hint of red on Leah’s cheeks but you don't mention it).
“Sorry,” Leah clears her throat. “You’re really beautiful, y/n.”
It’s at that moment that you realizes two things:
1. Leah has been calling you beautiful a lot. Like, a lot.
2. Every time Leah calls you beautiful, you feel a lot of things at once. Mostly it’s the feeling of wanting to kiss her.
“You think so?”
“Definitely,” Leah nods vehemently. “Your date is so lucky. You’re the most beautiful girl.”
And you can’t help but wonder how many times can a best friend say you’re beautiful until it means something more.
Leah is looking at you with the usual stars in her eyes, her lips curved upwards in a smile, and she looks so gorgeous that you can’t help but blurt out what you’ve been trying to suppress.
“Do you want to be my date then?”
You see a bunch of emotions flash Leah’s face as she tries to register your words in her brain—confused, shocked, apprehension, but you can see the tiny bit of excitement too.
Leah shoots up from the bed. “What?”
“I asked if you wanted to be my date.” You don’t know where all this confidence is coming from. You figure it’s due to the fact that Leah is looking at you like everything starts and stops with you. Like you’re the only thing that matters to her.
“Me?” Leah points at herself, a dumbfounded look on her face.
You try to hide your nervousness with a roll of your eyes, crossing your arms across your chest. “Yes, you. Do you see anyone else in this room with us?”
It takes another minute for Leah to take in your words before she gives you an ear-splitting grin. “Did I hear that correctly? Wait—did I understand it correctly? Are you asking me out? You did, didn’t you? You asked me out.”
“Only if you want to, that is,” your nervousness kicked back in with full force. “I know we’re just best friends but-”
Leah cut you off. “You’re saying that you don’t actually have a date tonight, is that right? I can be your date tonight?”
“For god’s sake, yes.”
“So you were lying about having a date?” Leah smiles mischievously at you.
You look away, focusing on the window of your bedroom. “...Maybe.”
“Tsk.”
You turn your attention back to the girl in front of you. “So do you want to go out with me or n-”
“You’re saying that I get to be with the most beautiful girl in the world—no, the most beautiful girl in the universe?”
You bark a laugh at her. “That is so cheesy, Williamson. If you want to go on a date with me then you should tone down that cheesiness.”
Leah joins your laughter and scoops you up in a hug, twirling you around. “Leah!” you immediately wrap your arms around her neck, laughing into her shoulders. “Put me down!”
When Leah does and you can still see the huge grin on her face, you decide to finally figure out what her lips taste like.
And you're right, it does taste like cherries. But most importantly, it tastes like happiness with the way Leah’s grin melts into your lips.
+1
“So were you ever going to tell me you have feelings for me or were you just going to call me beautiful every single day and hope that I took the hint?”
“…Hope you took the hint?”
“You’re an idiot.”
“But you love me.”
