Greetings from Pleasantview. Public (community) lots

A quick introduction to all of the public lots in Pleasantview. This is the lots that can't be owned by a sim.

There are currently 5 public community lots in Pleasantview:

Pleasant High The town's High School where sims from all parts of the uberhood attend classes (unless they're in private school, of course). The school houses two afterschool clubs; The Yearbook Club (on Mondays) and Cheerleading Club (on Tuesdays).

Pleasantview Community Pool & Gym As the name suggests; it's an indoor pool and a gym... It's located right across from the high school, but most teens would rather go next door to Monty's or hang out at the park.

Plumbbob Memorial Newly founded graveyard in Pleasantview. The town still awaits better funding from SimCity to actually build the interior of the church (aka Juniper has zero interests in building churches, so she still hasn't... lol).

Pleasantview Job Center Need a job? No problem! The job center has a central location in town and even has a small play area for your kids to stay at while you search away for that perfect job or meet with our qualified staff to apply for social welfare!

Woodland Park It's a park... lol.

New Uberhood Update #5

Not as un-wholesome as number 4, but only only just. Be warned.

This was in the Beaker's round, where as soon as I arrived Nervous decided that Circe was the one for him. Absolutely not.

Poor Nervous.

Loki's clearly unhappy, so what does he decide to do about this situation?

Here's a clue.

It does not get better.

First I was disgusted, but then I decided to lean into it. Loki wants a baby, Circe is not interested while Dora's a family sim, he's an evil scientist so the natural order of things clearly does not apply to him... Do you see where I'm going with this?

Baby Mildred was born quite happily, but it seems the god's of SimCity were not too impressed with Loki's meddling...

Circe tried to save him...

But it wasn't enough.

I've never had a spouse fail the "plead with grim reaper" action before, so that's new. RIP Loki.

Alright I don't own the game yet. I might need to buy a windows computer. I use Linux. I want it to work via steam.

Background:

I played simcity long ago along with the sims 1 and 2 in college. I had children started a few businesses, got a divorce. Just life stuff. A few months ago my 13 year old son discovered he could get the sims 4 on his 11 year old brothers Xbox.

Down the rabbit hole I leapt. It is winter so not much to do but watch YouTube. I started with my old fave pleasant sims because we have similar play styles. I was thinking I might have build wars with my son.

After watching sims 4 videos for like two hours I was over it. I was more interested in the sims 3 open world. I vaguely remembered being excited for its release. But then I got married and had some kids. You know, I got side tracked.

In the beginning:

I played an uberhood in sims 2. I loved how all the playable families got to know each other plus I didn't have to marry too many townies. My goal was to get everyone related by the tenth generation. I made it to six before real life.

Sims 3 seemed so perfect except no open for business, as I loved interacting with the customers, it was my favorite part of the game. Hey I am a home based business owner in real life so it was the best in sims 2 hands down. Granted sims 3 has a less hands on version, which will allow more time to do other things, I think I will love Sims 3 more.

I initially wanted to go back to sims2 but the open world was calling me. Story progression is awesome from what I can see. All the mod creators have outdone themselves. Now I can afford to pay you all. EA is not worthy

So after going back and forth between should I go back to the Sims 2 or should I play The Sims 3 I finally landed on I want the open world in The Sims 3 bugs be damned. Plus of course I haven't had a Windows computer in about 15 years so I just realized that my ultimate collection through origin won't launch anymore and I really don't feel like going through all of that to make it work. Maybe one day long long in the future when I decide that you know, since I paid for that game like six times, I want to play it again.

I have all the files!!! And discs!!!

I'll just play The Sims 3. But I need my uberworld. I have searched high and low on the internet and I have not discovered an Uber world that comprises all of The Sims2 hoods. I found large custom worlds that had all of the terrain that would allow me to have all of the hoods in one place but they didn't actually look the way that I wanted them to. Then I found Tedhi's Tumblr after I looked at one of her YouTube videos and as a construction manager myself, I really enjoyed her architectural style. We have similar ideas on planning builds and worlds. When I saw her new pleasant view video, it was just like she was in my head and added a few things, like her pool I never thought of, that's what I wanted.

Now when it comes to the Sims 2 world and having all of the premade Sims, Pleasant Sims was in my head. I don't think I will have the time to recreate them all but I want a place for all the Sims 3 versions to move to in order to play out their stories.

I took pleasant Sims idea on how the military base is up on the ridge and I was like oh this is perfect that's where I can have strange town, veronaville, and riverblossom hills. You know Verona ville is a mythical town so it would be perfect to have it up there next to strangetown as if the aliens terraformed the area created some test tube Sims and let them grown as they observed them. Riverblossom hills has the bridge that connected to the top of another mountain and I was like oh my goodness Blue water village has that large mountain at the tip of the peninsula that it sets on and my brain just went crazy as the map puzzle pieces fell into place. I was like oh my goodness I could literally have all 7-8 hoods, to some degree, in one place. Obviously I'm not going to make them as big as they were initially meant to be because I don't want to have like 80 billion lots in one Hood but I could have that feel of all of those lots like Tedhi did. she made pleasant view with a couple of extra lots in it but she had the most important ones so I want to have the feel of those neighborhoods like the strange town crater and have it be like arid and desert cuz it's going to be on top of a mountain obviously and then Verona ville is going to be where the fairies live cuz I mean they were honestly fairies in the first place. I don't have any idea what it's going to look like in CAW but right now I think I'm going to have the two Bridges I'm going to have what I'm going to call crater falls coming from strange town crater through veronaville since it has that River and it's going to go past River blossom hills to make the waterfall between the two Bridges.

I was initially going to call it SimCity but then I figured that would be copyrighted so I decided well two Bridges and a waterfall - Twin Bridge Falls.

I did a search online and I haven't found anything that says twin bridge falls so I was like let me put this up here on the internet as public notification of copyright, before somebody comes up with it and then my world will be lost forever to oblivion. This Tumblr is going to document my foray into building Two Bridge Falls for The Sims 3. My Uber world homage to The Sims 2.

Hi guys, long time no see :)

Since I’m trying to get back on my feet, I thought I could give a go to something that I meant to do ages ago... I found this hood map a couple of years ago and I fell in love with it! I think GneissGuy did a brilliant job at merging together some of the EAxis hood and created the perfect map for SimCity... I was sad to discover nobody has ever attempted adding the lots and the premades, so I thought I could do it myself lol

It took me the whole afternoon to place the lots but at least it’s done! Unfortunately I still have a lot to do - including placing some lots and add some deco that I had to remove to place the lots... And I also need to think of a way of adding the premades without having to recreate 400 Sims in the CAS. I was worried it would slow down with the more lots I’ve added - however AGS is still quite smooth (need to consider, though, that I’m playing with no CC nor Sims atm).

What do you guys think?

PS: this new tumblr update is rubbish from hell, can’t believe I had to re-write this post 3 times!

Chapter 1, part 1 of 2: "A new school year"

SSU.

There were a lot of people in the Student Union building, among them were Heather Huffington and one of her friends: Tiffany Sampson.

Tiffany (Hurrying Heather): Heather... Remember the show is about to start!

Heather (Looking everywhere): Yes, but I want that when my daddy arrives he has a super important place!.

At that moment Max Flexor arrives, trying to flirt with Heather.

Max (Trying to flirt): Hey pretty, when are you going to ask me out?... I have a super special outfit for that day...

Heather: Sure Max! But remember to call me on vacation so we can hang out.

The brown-haired boy left very excited.

Tiffany: But if you go to Sulani on vacation...

Heather: Obviously Tiff! Max calling when I'm not here haha! You know what? This haircut depresses me!

Tiffany (While holding Heather's hand): Well, let's fix you...

Heather: Wait!!, I want to wait for my Daddy to arrive!!

Meanwhile in Appalosa Plains.

Phoenix family home.

Jimmy was putting away some things, while his mother looked at him sadly.

Teresa (Crying): Son... I've already sold the house...

Jimmy (Hugging his mother): Mom, please don't cry, with what's left... you can buy an apartment!

The woman couldn't stop crying.

Jimmy: Calm down mom, please don't cry! We haven't paid the collectors for a year.... This is the best for everyone.

Returned in Student Union.

With the Nova family.

Castor: But why are we going to Roaring Heights!? You said we're going to the beach!!.

Sergio (Angry): There was a change of plans, now we're going to Roaring Heights! What's up!?

Castor: I promised Kevin, Ash and Joshua we'd go to the beach!! Right Josh?

Josh (A little uncomfortable): Don't worry... Don't worry about me, I'll go with my parents

Castor: Well... Pff... I'll go to Roaring Heights...

At that moment the show was going to start.

Leonel: Welcome to the opening ceremony of the SSU school year! I, as Director, am very proud to start a new year, full of wisdom, good behavior and above all, learning and discipline!

Meanwhile, at Rutherford Manor.

The great Rutherford clan (including the Clevelands) were in a photo section.

Ekaterina (While carrying one of her children): Wait!

Geoff (Looking at his wife a little confused): What happened dear? The photos are coming out very well, aren't they sister?

Marissa: The photos are super cool!

Ekaterina: I think I should have put on another dress or something different! And where is Lindsay?

Jason: I think he has a little problem with his wardrobe..

At that moment a red-haired girl arrives in a robe.

Lindsay: Ready mom, I'm done!

Geoff: And the dress I gave you!?

Lindsay (while ignoring her father): I donated it to Strangertown charities!

Geoff and Ekaterina: But it's a boolprace!!.

Lindsay (Revealing her bodypaint): I'll put this on!

Returned with Heather.

The blonde girl couldn't see her father anywhere.

Heather (Thinking out loud): Dad... please don't let me down...

At that moment Roxie Sharpe approaches her.

Roxie: Dear, accept that your daddy is not coming! You better wait for your butler, who always comes!

Heather: Why don't you mind your own business, darling!?

Unfortunately for Heather, the family butler came...

Leonel: ... And for this reason, today's young people here will be the future of our nation!...

After giving his speech, the director motioned for the girls to come forward to present their choreography.

At that moment, Heather did something that shocked everyone, Nobody could believe their eyes.

Back with Jimmy and his mother.

The black-haired boy was saying goodbye to his mother, because he would travel to SimCity to study near the Huffington family.

Teresa: Son... I want you to know that Nobody murdered your father...

Jimmy: Mom!! It's obvious that it was that idiot Franco Huffington!

Teresa: Jimmy, I just want you to know that I'm going to miss you a lot..., I love you son...

Jimmy (Crying a little): Me too mom, see you soon... I'll call you when I've arrived in SimCity!

SC4 Maps

So for my SimCity uberhood i chose to set it up in 3 parts the mountains will be where the farmlands will be. It will have one major highway like Strangetown, but i think for terrain i want to use @criquette-was-here’s dirt terrain on MTS. for some reason it doesnt work with rual roads or curious b roads so ill have to figure it out. 

The main urban area will be flat. I can alway alter it in the sims 2 but for now i just wanna focus on setting up roads. That will be lush, mainly because i dont like the whole map straight up cement. I’d rather use some effects to blend it.

My coastline will be where most of the apartment/condos will be. This will be about as heavly populated as the urban area but have more rich families and neighborhoods in it.

Issues Ive run into:

No matter how i do it the maps for Strangetown and the other hoods wont show up in the downloads folder so i have two options. Either i leave the maps as is or i make entirely new ones. either way i still have a lot of work to do.

A reminder to backup your game!

I've been very quiet lately.. About a month ago my laptop suddenly started acting up and I couldn't access ANY of my files. Luckily, I had backed up everything just a few days earlier. So yeah, consider this your reminder to backup your game.

Although I still have my Uberhood files, I'm scared of trying to transfer the neighborhood from one laptop to another. I just don't have the courage yet lol. But I miss playing sims! So I've started the rather ambitious project of making and playing a BACC. I'm still just preparing for it - right now I'm meddling with SimCity 4 for the first time, which is kind of exciting. I want to make everything from scratch; even the terrain map(s):

It's not done yet - I still want to add a few islands for vacation subhoods. But I think I'll be calling it the Marigold Valley BACC. <3

Welcome to my Ultimate SimCity Uberhood!

Wait, let me explain... so I just started playing with my latest overly ambitious project last night, an uberhood consisting of all premade Sims 2 (PC) neighbourhoods and including every single premade playable character (and I plan on adding townies too somewhere along the way when I need them). I didn't plan to share my gameplay or write stories or anything but I always take screenshots in special moments and the ones I took last night I thought I couldn't hold myself back from sharing. Well, not that they're good, hell, some of them are just straight up C key captures from the game because sometimes I forget to do a proper Win+PrtSc - that's something I'll try to avoid in the future though. Because now I want to share a couple of pictures and some captions here and there. I can't help it, I just love the premades so much! I try to play as canonically as possible though so don't expect my storylines to reinvent the wheel lol.

[Update 14/03/22: I have not been very consistent with the style of these posts since the beginning of sharing my ultimatehood unfortunately. First I started sharing gameplay screenshots, then I stopped and decided only to post the end-of-round portraits and the summaries, but then I got an urge and started posting gameplay and random stories again and I kept messing up with the order because I posted portraits and gameplay one after the other in the beginning and it was a mess and then I started combining portrait posts and gameplay posts to make it easier and then— you get me. So posts from "round 1" are a tiny bit all over the place. Apologies!]

So first, here is this super LQ one of Don enjoying the last of his bachelor days with his favourite lover Nina. Not pictured: Kaylynn throwing a fit upon seeing Don kiss Nina. Poor girl, but we'll get to her story later... Also not pictured is Dina paying a visit in the nighttime after Nina left.

Nina, being as much of a free spirit as Don, has accepted his decision to marry into the Goth family, on the condition that she will still get to see him often. However, Don just hasn't got the heart to tell her he's been having an affair with her sister too, he admits he might have gone a tiny bit over the line with that one. He was secretly hoping the situation would smoothen out by itself but the chances of that happening are growing thinner with every hour closer to him moving in to the Goth manor.

2020 Simming Goals

I was tagged by @redplaysthesims!

I’ll be really busy with real life this year, so my goals are... quite small.

I will do my best to have at least 1 Widespot post queued up per day (so for example, in two weeks I might queue up 20 posts with 1 being released each day because that’ll likely be a busy time). That way the blog stays a little bit active even though I’m at work, studying, working out, spending time with friends, playing other games or whatever.

Upload some of the sims I’ve created for Sunset Valley/Old Town/Pleasantview side of Widespot.

Release either All Canon SimCity or Winterose. It will depend on what I feel like doing in my spare time, but I aim to release at least one of the two neighborhoods this year.

If all the above are completed... maybe we’ll have an extremely late Uberhood Story update. I have a very clear view of where the story is going, I just have very limited time and Widespot is more fun right now. 😊
