The year is 1924, half a decade after the first World War, and a few years before the Great Depression would devastate the nation. It is a time of contradiction: the modernist uprising of science and innovation, met with a traditionalist, fearful desire to cling to the past in a fast-evolving, urbanist society.

And on this morning in Washington D.C. an unmarked package is left outside the office of Aaron 'Hotch' Hotchner, P.I., with a note simply telling him to find the rest, and a substantial price tag attached. What he finds in this package is something he has never seen before, hundreds of years old, and he barely knows where to start trying to find more like it. Ultimately he is pointed towards someone that may just have a clue what to do with his charge: a Classics Historian working in the basements of the Smithsonian, Dr. Spencer Reid.

Together, what they discover sends them on a break-neck chase across the city, searching for a mysterious collection of powerful artifacts, and the people that are trying to sell them. Forever changing everything they know about the world, the people in it, truth, lies, love, and the fragile construct of time.

Spencer is actually rather fond of the jet during the night.

slow burn or love at first sight: I actually love both of these but the second one is SO FREQUENTLY ‘welcome to Allo Nonsense O’Clock’ and I’m sorry but my aroace ass is just not here for that. I do, however, love ‘oh my god what are these feelings do I have food poisoning do I hate them WHAT IS THIS.’ Instant Feels accompanied by confusion and mortification and rage? Oh yes, love that, good shit.

fake dating or secret dating: I do not actually have super-strong feelings for either of these but the first is more likely to involve idiots in mutual pining and I LIVE for that shit.

enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers: Both of these have excellent pining potential but the first one includes more ‘and I’m ANGRY ABOUT IT’ and I do, as mentioned in the first item, LOVE that shit. Yes, please be furious about these horrible feelings while also being powerless against them. [hellmo.gif]

oh no there’s only one bed or long-distance correspondence: This was literally just because I’ve read more tasty fic with epistolary segments. The first one is good! The second one is just slightly more in line with my very niche preferences.

hurt-comfort or amnesia: I fucking LOVE hurt-comfort so almost anything else put into this bracket would be losing to it but also I just don’t really vibe with amnesia most of the time. Like, I’ll read it, it’s not a Hard No, but it’s not a plot point in any of my top ten or indeed in like... the top fifty.

fantasy au or modern au: FANTASY AU MY BELOVED but also why are modern AUs so much a thing, they’re everywhere, I filter them out and it wipes out like 1/3 of the fic for a fandom. I live in this reality because I don’t have a CHOICE why would I want to stay when fiction can instead take me to places with dragons or spaceships or magic or literally anything other than More Goddamn Capitalism????

mutual pining or domestic bliss: Mutual pining is the one thing that could have beat out hurt-comfort. This wins against literally everything. Also established relationship is another thing I usually filter out because it’s about the Yearning.

smut or fluff: Yeah I said what I said. I’m here for yearning and sometimes also for porn. Fluff does not usually contain acceptable levels of Yearning. Smut, on the other hand, is surprisingly compatible with it as long as the principles are idiots who can’t communicate.

canon-compliant or fix-it: fix it, always, I am a weak little marshmallow and canon likes to kill my faves.

reincarnation or character death: Neither of these is My Jam but if they have to die at least they don’t have to STAY DEAD okay?

one-shot or multi-chapter: porque no los dos? But also if we’re talking about writing it’s 100% one-shot because I’m an ADHD disaster gremlin.

kid fic or road trip fic: Honesty time my first impulse was ‘eh, neither?’ And then I remembered that I love road trip fic actually it’s just that my favorite settings do not have CARS. Travel is great! Travel stories are great! Reality is boring and I would prefer not to be here!

arranged marriage or accidental marriage: Okay TECHNICALLY I think arranged wins this but I don’t really go in for the traditional ‘they’ve never met before and other people are forcing the issue’ thing that the term usually signifies. At the same time, I can enjoy an accidental marriage thing if it’s not a farce but that’s ALSO usually not what people mean. So I’m not picking one because if we’re going by The Usual Meanings I tend to actively avoid both. If you’re wondering what the fuck I’m talking about I was trying to decide if I’m too ashamed to explain myself but then I realized you had to click under a cut and then keep reading after I was like ‘porn > fluff’ so you know what you’re in for and the answer is ‘I enjoy a good warprize fic because I am a trash panda who deserves to live in the dumpster.’ I don’t like strangers making them get married. I like one of them making them get married and probably the marriage goes unconsumated for ages and they fall in love and neither realizes the other has feelings and-- yeah.

high school romance or middle aged romance: What do you want from me here, you can fit SO much more yearning into several decades than you can into several years. See also: my conviction that Persuasion is the best Austen novel.

time travel or isolated together: Both of these can be Good Shit, but time travel wins it by a smidge because Isolated Together can feel like what is actually happening is they are breaking under psychological torture and like. I would prefer they have actual feelings. I say this as someone who loves a good fictional codependent relationship; they still need to talk to other people sometimes.

neighbours or roommates: I was all ‘I don’t care whatever’ and then I remembered that Carry On exists and went ‘oh right, I do in fact care; roommates.’

sci-fi au or magic au: magicmagicmagicMAGIC--

body swap or gender bend: I love the ‘I’m desperately trying to be respectful and it’s weird to check out the body I’m in but ALSO--’ Like, it can get stupid if they’re trying to hide it for whatever reason (I swear I have a sense of humor it’s just that I also get CRIPPLING SECOND-HAND EMBARRASSMENT from like, everything in the universe), but it can be pretty great when handled well.

angst or crack: My entire fic preference can be summed up by that ‘I want them to fall SO far and then land on something soft’ thing someone said which I cannot find because google’s algorithm no longer actually tries to find you what you ask for and instead tries to anticipate your wants which is hard to do with me because I don’t know what’s going on in my head 90% of the time. Anyway. Angst. I can very occasionally be in the mood for crack but usually that’s a No.

apocalyptic or mundane: See: my answer to fantasy or modern. I do not like reality and I only live here because the emigration options fucking SUCK.

I know some of y’all have already been tagged but I’m nosy and very curious about what everyone likes reading, so I’m tagging @basiltonbutliketheherb @bookish-bogwitch @takitalks @sapphicflaaffy @anonaxolotl, if y’all wanna play (no pressure)! 😄

slow burn wins every time. I wanna know exactly what’s convincing them to get together! I need the pining or else I don’t care.

fake dating. Look. There’s no contest here. Fake dating wins every time, in every category, against every competitor. There is nothing better than the forced proximity of fake dating, especially coupled with strangers to lovers or enemies or lovers. What’s better than getting to read about characters being stupid and in denial?

I love fake dating enough that I have read fics fandom-blind just because I ran out of ones in my fandom. I could go on lol

No shade to all y’all who like secret dating, but I haven’t been able to read it, especially if it has to be a secret from everyone. (it’s so stressful!!) But maybe I should give it another shot?

Enemies to lovers. This one is soooo finicky. I LOVE it, but they both need to be equals. They both need to give as good as they get (or just not even actually be enemies). But when it’s done right, literally nothing compares.

Only one bed. This one is just good. Plus I keep a soft spot for it in my heart because I had a ‘there was only one bed’ moment with one of my best friends (hiiii Julia if you’re reading this), back before we really knew each other. It’s incredibly effective for speedrunning good old fashioned strangers to friends 🥰🥰🥰🥰

(Also it of course loses to long distance. Another one that I personally just can’t read.)

I love a good amnesia fic, but they also always make me weirdly sad? The amnesiac version of the character exists and is loved, but in order to have a happy ending to the story, this version essentially dies via having their memories returned. 😭 (if you love amnesia stories but they also make you sad, you should check out A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers. It’s the second in the series, but it does stand alone, if you’re not looking to commit to two books just for one trope.)

Mutual pining. I usually prefer getting-together over established relationships, and mutual pining is so so good when it's done well. I love it when both characters make themselves miserable for no good reason! Dramatic irony my beloved. (Plus I love it because this swings back around to my thing for fake dating LOL)

Road trip. My beloved! Really this is just a vehicle (…no pun intended) for forced proximity and there was only one bed situations. I usually shy away from kidfic because when the vibes are off, they’re very off. But I’ve read (and since lost 😭) some great kidfic in the past!

arranged marriage. I haven’t read too many arranged marriage fics, but I do like this one as a subset of fake dating but with higher stakes. A solid political arranged marriage between two rival kingdoms is a perennial fav

high school romance. I’ve seen so much hate for high school romance and high school AUs lately, but I really don’t get it. There’s something to be said for all the restrictions that high school places on characters. Situations become even more complicated when your time and freedom are so limited, and you're under such strict observation. Plus you get so many diverse character dynamics, and all these people are forced to interact even if they never would outside of a high school setting. It really suits ensemble casts! I'm also just a fan of coming of age stories in general.

time travel. All that about forced proximity and I didn’t even pick isolated together? Unfortunately, time travel is one of my top favorite things. Especially if the time travel is question is a timeloop.

But of course, yes, I love it when characters get stuck. You get to know people so quickly when you spend all day with them, especially in a high-stress situation!

roommates. oh my god they were roommates.

(look, I'm back at it again picking the higher level of proximity in the forced proximity options!)

body swap. ugh, there’s so much value in a good body swap. Reckoning with personal identity. To be forced to see yourself through others’ eyes! AND to be obligated to love yourself because you love the person who’s currently inhabiting your body.

angst. Sometimes I just want to be sad on purpose! What can I say, I love catharsis

Hey! Love your stories so much I just had to ask! Do you have any favorite drarry authors/stories? I sometimes compare the quality of other stories to ROA (oops!) because ROA is just that good. My personal favorites are ROA (of course!), the Foundations Series (saras_girl), the ordeal of being known (louisfake), denouement (the_never_was), Good to Me (And I'd Be So Good to You) (AWickedMemory), and To Hurt and Heal (cassisluna). Thank you, so glad you’ve enjoyed my stories! And thank you for so patiently waiting for a reply. I haven’t been online much in the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately I haven’t read any of your recs, but I’m always happy to add another fic to my to-read list.

Summary: Draco wanted revenge, but it didn't work out that way.

My notes: Californian beaches, supermarkets, road trips, and a bittersweet ending.

A Reckless State of Mind (T) by Lomonaaeren

Summary: Draco is a Psyche-Diver, and his newest patient is Auror Potter, who’s been a pathological liar for over a year—and has just tried to violently end his own life.

Notes: The plot alone guarantees inclusion on this list. Probably the most creative fic I’ve ever read, and the twists and turns will keep you guessing.

Berlin, In the Year of Our Lord (PG) by Are

Summary: Harry is a green-tea addict. Draco stalks him.

Notes: Probably my all-time favourite fic, along with Blue Vase. It’s sparse and minimal and I love that writing style.

Blue Vase (M) by ivyblossom

Summary: Let’s pretend.

Notes: Draco finds an amnesiac Harry and befriends him, pretending they were once lovers. It’s pensive, short, and bittersweet.

The Boy Who Only Lived Twice (E) by lettered

Summary: Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.

Notes: Action-heavy fics are damn hard to write, but lettered nails it. The action scenes are breakneck speed, the conversations are threaded with double meaning, and even the silences are tense.

Draco in Darkness (T) by Plumeria47.

Summary: Following an accident in his seventh year, Draco loses his eyesight.

Notes: This is one of the first fics I ever read (when it was over on FF in 2003) so it’s probably here just for nostalgia points alone. I read it when I was a kid and just thought it was a lovely golden fairytale, the best romance I’d ever read in my (very short, thus far) life. I love reading it again, even years later as an adult when I can see the tarnish on it; the things my childhood eyes didn’t notice. I don’t care. It’s my soft and fuzzy comfort fic.

The Flesh is Frail (NC-17) by wildestranger

Summary: None

Good-bye to Yesterday (NC-17) by furiosity

Summary: Draco felt ready to face even a million years in Azkaban as long as it meant that at the end of it all, he would make Potter pay.

Notes: It’s not a dark fic, but it certainly dips in and out of the shadows. If you like your romance to be sharp as a razor and bitter as black coffee, give it a read.

Hymn to Color (PG) by Lomonaaeren

Summary: Months after Draco cast a curse that took Harry’s eyesight, Harry is still trying to come to terms with it. Draco still wanted forgiveness, which was probably the problem.

Notes: Probably my very inadequate idea of “fluff”. It’s a quiet, introspective fic. Draco and Harry are well-written.

Kings among runaways (PG) by enderxenocide.

Summary: Later, the toast will be slightly overcooked, Draco will burn the eggs, and there will be another fist fight in-between the living room and the front door, but they’ll eat breakfast with second-hand plates and Draco’s great-grandmother’s silverware.

Notes: Dreamy descriptions, abstract scenes, and the characters are lovingly delineated. Beautiful writing.

On Broken Glass (PG-13) by coffeejunkii

Summary: After the final battle, Draco is holding the shards that are left of his and Harry’s life.

Notes: Established relationship. Harry’s forgetful and seems to suffer both short-term and long-term memory loss; Draco stays by his side through six years of post-war amnesia. Very short, just a tiny ficlet. There’s sequels (in bite-size pieces) but I prefer to read the first ficlet and leave it there.

Paper Dolls (M) by cupiscent

Summary: In the final year of the War, Draco gets a letter, makes a choice and pays the price.

Notes: Short, succinct, and packs a punch. No character deaths, in case the summary has you feeling nervous.

Portrait (PG-13) by Silent Blast

Summary: None.

Notes: Dorian Grey, but Drarry. Of course it’s going to be good.

Shattered (NC-17) by femmequixotic

Summary: One damned accident involving one too-lucky curse, and suddenly you'd think he was five again, with their Harry, be carefuls and their quick Levitating charms ready the instant the potion gives way and his rebelling hands lose hold of whatever's in their grasp.

Notes: Draco’s an artist. Harry’s intrigued by his sculptures and paintings.

Snatch (PG-13) by didntyoupotter

Summary: Harry is comatose, Hermione and Ron aren’t much help, and Draco isn’t sure about anything anymore.

Notes: The opening scene fools you into thinking this will be a light read with a streak of good humour. Don’t fall for it. By the third act, you’ll be hanging onto every word and feeling a lot of emotions. Also, back in the day, this was one of the Draco/Harry fics. Everyone knew of it. Pay your respects to your fandom history and read this beloved classic.

The Stages of Acceptance (T) by Lomonaaeren.

Summary: Harry, already happily married to Ginny, receives the news that he's Draco's mate. Law and custom don't give him the option of ignoring the news. The stages of his reaction, one by one.

Notes: This is not a romance, and I love that the author just casually chucks all the Veela tropes in the bin and says “nope”. In Lomonaaeren’s own words, this fic is more practical than romantic. Harry is unfamiliar with the Veela concepts and hates the very idea of being “shackled” to someone; he rejects Draco at once. Draco is miserable and lonely. They do eventually come to understand each other better, but it’s a huge struggle with lots of setbacks. The general air of pessimism and misery does make the small glimpses of compassion and empathy feel so well-earned. I love a fic that rations out its happiness.

The Stately Homes of Wiltshire (E) by waspabi

Summary: Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.

Notes: This one needs no introduction. The writing is polished, the characterisation perfect, and the dialogue is fun. I love the humour woven throughout it.

Then Comes a Mist and a Weeping Rain (E) by faithwood.

Summary: It always rains for Draco Malfoy. Metaphorically. And literally. Ever since he had accidentally Conjured a cloud. A cloud that's ever so cross.

Notes: Another one that most of us know. It’s a lighthearted and fun read.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (M) by novembersnow

Summary: In the war-torn years after Hogwarts, one man has no knowledge of his yesterdays.

Notes: Another classic back in the feverish heyday of the Harry Potter fandom, when books were still being released and everyone had worked themselves up into a shipping frenzy. And no wonder this fic was an instant hit. Draco has lost all his memories and Harry’s investigating as an Auror, but the longer you read, the more you start questioning everything. Good twists and turns that lead to a tender ending.

Turn by Saras_Girl

Summary: One good turn always deserves another. Apparently.

Notes: An inevitable inclusion on any favourites list. I think my favourite thing about it is the characterisation. Everyone is so well-rounded; the characters are brought to life and feel like old friends. All their habits, styles, mannerisms, even the way they walk or talk. While I love everyone in this fic, I have to admit that Blaise is just amazing. Of all the thousands of Blaises imagined by fanfic writers, I love this one the best. “Old bean” indeed.

Under the Ivy (PG-13) by coffeejunkii

Summary: It is impressive how much you can learn about someone by simply sharing a few rooms. They don’t spend time together, not really, but Harry still knows that Malfoy prefers raspberry jam over strawberry, that he hums along to the Wireless when he thinks no one is around, and that his leg is bothering him more than usual when the temperatures drop below freezing.

Notes: Another old, old favourite of mine. It’s like snuggling into a soft blanket. Remus owns a cottage and Harry moves in after the war. Later, Remus lets a room to Draco, who is an outcast after the war and has limited housing options. Harry isn’t happy at first with the new lodger, but he eventually warms up to Draco. A slow and gentle romance.

Vale Sanare (M) by rurounihime

Summary: Draco’s world gains a new component, just when he thought he’d sorted everything out.

Notes: London nightclubs, one-night-stands, loud music and lonely nights. Draco has seizures due to a curse from the war, and the seizures have led to a fear of intimacy. Short and sweet.

The Way Down (T) by lettered

Summary: Malfoy’s all, “Come out of there,” the way you say to a cat who is badly behaved. And Harry’s all like, “No, what, I’m a hermit! And I have a chest-monster! And I am crazy magically powerful!” and Malfoy’s all, “We all have problems, bub.” (thoughtfully) “You are crazy though. I’ll give you that.��

Notes: I just adore this fic. The fic starts well-grounded, giving you a solid backstory and matter-of-fact context, but as it goes on, it slowly unravels into dreamy scenes, lush settings, and repeated motifs. It’s just such a beautiful story.

When Love beckons to you, follow him (PG-13) by megyal

Summary: Draco wakes up, lost, somewhere in a forest. He has no idea where he is or how he got there. As he is blundering around trying to find his way home, he hears Harry's voice in his head, telling him what to do.

Notes: I generally like my fics to be bittersweet or with a bit of heartache — but this fic is just a little cloud of softness. If you need something light and lovely without being syrupy-sweet, this is a good choice!

The World of the Living (M) by fourth_rose

Summary: A traumatised war hero and a convicted criminal under the roof of an eccentric journalist make for a rather odd ensemble, but Luna has never had a problem with oddities as long as they make sense.

Notes: The story is told from Luna’s perspective, which gives everything a lovely dreamy quality. She takes in a couple of strays after the war — first Harry, who is avoiding his other friends and has quit his Auror job — and then she offers a room to Draco right after his trial. Draco is rude, angry, and ungrateful; Harry is churlish, withdrawn, and moody. Luna doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest, and over the course of the next few months, her house guests slowly warm up to each other.

Voices From the Fog (E) by noeon

Summary: After years of running away, Harry crosses paths with an all-too familiar face and follows him to Amsterdam.

Notes: Harry drifts across Europe, trying to forget the war. He ends up in a woodworking shop in Amsterdam, alongside a moody Draco. Atmospheric settings and solid characterisation.

Currently reading: My fic answer - Who Watches Over Me by Nyxocity (J2 movie star/bodyguard enemies to lovers AU. I’m like halfway through it). Non fic answer - Mouthful of Birds by Samantha Schweblin (horror/fantasy short story collection - “Schweblin's stories have the feel of a sleepless night, where every shadow and bump in the dark take on huge implications, leaving your pulse racing, and the line between the real and the strange blurs.” Very Good so far!)

Looking forward to: My beloved @kalutyka is gonna be here in my house this time next week, and then we’re road-tripping to the beach!! And on the way back we’re getting lunch with @ravingliberal!!! ❤❤❤

Last podcast: The Plaidcast Supernatural Rewatch. I’m only a few episodes in, but boy do I love it already. Very good and cool literary analysis of the show by two friends who know what they’re talking about. I’ve already learned a bunch of cool shit I had no idea about (and also I agree with their takes, so I’m biased).

Current project: A thousand WIPs or plans for fic-to-come, but the most complete is The dreaded Mystery Spot darkfic. Also my SPN proship discord server has decided on a whim to star a minecraft server and build the bunker, among other things, so that too, I guess.

Curent mood: Lazy, randomly chilly rainy mid-spring day. I’ve accomplished nothing of value, but I’m content.

Current wish: To get back on my bullshit and manage a more consistent sleep and work schedule. I’ve been all over the place in terms of sleep and productivity, and I really, really need to get myself back to a more steady, predictable daily schedule.

Last fic read: A Room with You in it, by yourperiphery. AFAIK this fic isn’t on the internet anymore, but I have a pdf copy if anyone is interested! Non-AU J2 fic that chronicles a year after the end of s3 (written before s4 aired based on some of the wild predictions this fic made on the direction the show would go, lol). VERY sweet idiots-to-lovers slow burn fic. Y’all really caught me in the middle of an RPF binge, lmao.

Currently craving: a back massage tbh. wouldnt say no to ice cream, but i’d literally never say no to ice cream, so.

Too warm. I have been warmer than most people my whole life, and I often need to sleep with a fan on.

Bounty. My favourite candy is Reese’s Pieces but I like a bounty. Or like, and chocolate without fruit in it tbh.

Yes, one of my parents referees Championship Football here in the UK. I have been to a few of his games. I also went to the London 2012 Paralympic closing ceremony, if that counts.

What is the last thing you said out loud?

‘Oh, this will last me a few days’ I was talking to my mother about 1/2 a can of pringles, I was lying.

What is your favourite ice cream?

Vanilla. I am boring. But the best ice cream i’ve had was a cream/milk flavoured gelato in Florence, that shit slapped. I also like cheap strawberry ice cream when no one is trying to put strawberry bits in it.

What was the last thing you had to drink?

Dinner. A spinach, banana, summer fruits and coconut yoghurt smoothie (with extra raspberries). Its my nightly dinner to cheat more veg into my body.

Very much. It’s about 7-8 years old, it is faded to hell but it has spiderman and a pony ride stony pin

Nope. I don't buy as many clothes as I want to, bc mens clothes in larger sizes are hard to find or expensive here.

F1, I don't keep up but I watch a little with my dad every now and then.

BUTTER. They don't really have it here, and I don't go to movies much when in the states. But @festiveferret introduced me to it when we saw Ant-man and the Wasp, and much like poutine and Tim Hortons, I still crave it.

Yes, I was a Scout. I have done enough camping to not want to do more, it was fun when I wasn't organising it.

Yes, but not as often as I should, and as much as my mother bothers me too.

Nope, not even when I considered myself christian. I go only go to church for other peoples events, and I’m an agnostic now.

Chinese food, It was easily what taught me to like more foods also, I don't eat tomato so I can't have most pizza. I love a good garlic base/bechamel, but you can't really get that here easily (yes yes I could make my own but that ruins half the point of pizza)

I don't drink carbonated drinks, because its like drinking pain. The fuck is wrong with all of you.

Various colours, but I consider red on the left, blue on the right, my lucky socks. No I don't know why, but I take all exams and interviews wearing them. It’s just a thing.

Do you ever drive above the speed limit?

I don't drive, but if I did, No. Theres a lot of questionable laws out there but Traffic laws aren't one of them.

Friday nights. The weekend is ahead and @loraneldin and I take to wrangling our beloved usual suspects through another week of Ults Book Club.

With milk and sugar, or ultimately, in a Caramel Frappuccino bc I'm a bitch like that.

I have walking boots that don't make my flat ass feet feel like they’re dying. OR my black and green crocs (Fight me, they’re useful).

9-10 is what I'm working on, but I fluctuate depending on if I'm working on something or not.

The time you normally get up?

5-6 If I have a choice in the matter, but often 7-8 if I didn't get to bed at the right time. I’m more about getting the right hours in for my diet than time specifically.

What do you prefer, sunrise or sunsets?

Sunset is the prettiest, but I like to be awake to see the sun rise.

How many blankets on your bed?

One big thick comforter, because that's the uk standard, and I get too hot otherwise.

Two types, big wide white ones with a navy blue rim. They are so large I never use them, and little Navy saucer plates I use a lot.

I don't drink, so no. I drink apple juice or Shirley temples when I'm in pubs/bars

Sometimes, I like to teach people to play Old Maid. It’s the monopoly of card games.

Again, I do not drive.

I am aware I just said I don't have a car, but I do know how to change a tire. Everyone should go learn its pretty simple.

Favourite job you’ve ever had?

I have only had one job really and two job experience jobs. I did experience in a school library for a week and that was v fun and chill. I did all the jobs they had prepared for me in 2 days so I alphabetically reorganised their fiction section for the rest of the week. I LIKE ORDERING.

How did you get your biggest scar?

I no longer have a gallbladder, so I have 3 scars across my torso from that, the biggest right in the middle of my ribs. Non surgical wise I have matching scars on my knees from ripping holes in them when tripping. I have weak ankles and also I got both of those at different times.

What did you do today that made someone else happy?

I gave my spare animal crossing Iguanodon skull to a wicked artist I follow on twitter so he could complete his dino park.

I’m going to add commentary that nobody gives a shit about because I feel like it.

“Love at first sight” is something I enjoy writing, but I hate reading it because Imo it’s better as interest/lust at first sight because I honestly think love at first sight is one of the dumbest romance tropes and is a misunderstanding of interest/lust. Thanks, I McHate it.

“Amnesia” sucks the vast majority of the time. It’s difficult to do “right” with respect to the character that has amnesia, and it’s a nuisance for me as a reader because I don’t want a blank MC. (Fuka in OZMAFIA is one of the most infuriating protagonists I’ve ever read with zero brain cells. MC in Amnesia: Memories is passable because she has the reflective mirror of people she associated with prior to losing her memory.)

Unpopular(?) opinion, but your life doesn’t start or end in high school and I’d rather age up characters to adulthood (where they have agency and freedom) than age them down to puberty, which is an objectively shit-tier time.

I like writing one-shots and vignettes but enjoy reading expanded multi-chapter fics.

Kid fic is like, blah. I like writing kids but don’t like reading them because I’m not particularly interested in children. I don’t want my own, I don’t really care about kids of my friends, and while I feel protective and caring for kids I just reeeally... Look, there’s a good audience for it, but I just ain’t it, chief.
