The fact he is such an absolute simp for Mouri Ran, totally besotted, UTTERLY WHIPPED.

How he is never immune to Mouri Ran's (AKA the love of his life's) beauty. I can and will write a multi page essay about the way people write and portray Richard Goranski’s lisp in fan content and why I don’t like it. this is sort of just one aspect of it, guys please actually consider how a lisp works before writing/playing him with one I’m begging you.

Rich has a tongue between teeth lisp (as opposed to the type of lisp that happens when air escapes from the sides of your teeth), meaning he makes the “sss” and “zzz” sounds with his tongue “out” (touching the top row of his teeth instead of resting behind them).

The way the tongue between teeth sort of lisp works, you only make the “th” sound on certain words. sun, spoil, and toss all require you to use the “sss” sound to pronounce them, meaning they would come out with a th lisp. The same goes for “zzz” sounding words like zebra, puzzle, and lazy. Plus some words with C like icing, voice, and circle, since in this context the C actually makes the same sound as an S.

Not all words that have an S or C in them make the speaker lisp though, which is where I think people get confused about it and write/play him with a silly sounding or inaccurate lisp. Words like share, show, and sheet make a “shh” or a shush sound, which usually wouldn’t have a th lisp attached to it :))

Something I recommend if you’re ever playing him or just generally any character who lisps, be conscious not to speak with your tongue out the entire time. I see a lot of the people who play him just keeping their tongue between their teeth throughout entire sentences while trying to recreate a lisp, and it changes the pronunciation of ALL their words which a lisp wouldn’t do.

Also, when writing a lisp, it’s really repetitive to read anything that constantly emphasizes it. You don’t have to write “thally thellth thea thellth by the thea thore” it’s difficult to read and makes the content less accessible overall, it’s okay to write the words normally and THEN emphasize how they’re spoken, one or two mentions of a lisp is enough to get the point across without constant repetition. Plus then it’s not crowding up your writing and taking all that effort to figure out.

Honestly all I’m saying is to think about how speech impediments work before trying to write/mimic them, genuinely though at most it mildly annoys me so there’s no anger or anything behind this post. It’s something I like talking about + I like rich so he gets to be part of this too.

Just watched Fu Xuan’s trailer and my love for her keeps growing day by day, saving for Kafka’s rerun is the hardest thing I want to pull for Fu Xuan so badly-

Her trailer was a lot of fun, I will say with a lot of dialogue there was less ability to focus on the music and it seemed like that might be intentional because the music certainly didn’t have the same mood setting intensity of say Blade’s, Kafka’s or even Jing Yuan’s imo. However, the music from her trailer was still really good and fitting her character. I liked it a lot

Qingque’s entrance and her involvement in the trailer was such a joy, Qingque is one of my favorite characters and seeing the continued emphasis of her and Fu Xuan and their dynamic given how they contrast each other is such fun.

Fu Xuan’s visuals were beautiful, I’ve been a big fan of how her ultimate looks and the animation of her move sets and just all of the animation within her trailer was spectacular. Going back to Qingque’s entrance, Hoyoverse seriously has been improving so much with their ability to animate such clear, strong, and borderline comical expressions over the course of their games and seeing so much detail like that was a joy.

However, I will say it feels like there’s something lacking, or perhaps I wanted more out of her trailer. There’s a gap in it that I can’t explain or pinpoint. Other trailers have felt like they last for longer for me, but hers felt oddly short. And just, maybe it’s because my standard was set high with the masterpieces that were Blade and Kafka’s, but I wish there had been a bit more especially with how important Fu Xuan is and how amazing her design and ultimate animation is. Like I wish they had set a stronger mood throughout the trailer because those kinds of trailers are what catches me most

That being said, I still loved Fu Xuan’s trailer, I love Fu Xuan herself, her banner is going to be so hard resisting to pull on and I’m gonna need some serious self control. Overall, her trailer is still super solid, super fun, and very visually impressive to me. It’s such a nice thing to see after I was admittedly… rather disappointed with that last trailer before hers.

what's interesting about this is that although wyll is understandably upset at the possibility that his father could be dead, he is more openly resentful of his father exiling him in this unfolding of events.

the way he delivers some of these lines carries a slight tone of disdain I've not heard before, when he'd spoken of his father in corydalis' campaign, where the party saved florrick.

the thing is. yeah kendall feels like his whole life now is worth nothing. the one thing he was always meant to do, since he was seven years old he now cannot do. he will never get to do it. so he might as well die, right? he might as well end it all but the thing is life is never that kind nor generous. so i think kendall will try and fail. and he’ll try again and again but the world will keep its grip on him and eventually he’ll just stop trying. and yeah maybe he’ll never be a whole person (we’re nothing) maybe he’ll take logan’s advice and collect sports cars or write a book or start a new company but either way he’ll be forced to start anew. kendall logan roy died it’s just kendall now. and this outcome in itself is generous in a way because circumstances out of his control have kind of forced him to hold some accountability for his own life finally instead of counting on broken promises his father made him at 7 years old. he’s actually being forced to Be instead of just living up to someone else’s name. and he actually has people around him who still undoubtedly care. he’s sick and horrible and twisted but he is still ultimately lovable. he is still a human being weeping on the dirty ground even though he has spent so long trying not to be. even though he recanted the very thing that made him Real. the world will simply not relinquish its hold on him! tragic but somewhat hopeful in a way

Now that I've read the books I'm starting the His Dark Materials show and boy it's bad enough I love the chaotic ass of a man that is Asriel in the books and it was bad enough with Daniel Craig as him but he never got much screentime unlike here so James McAvoy as Asriel will truly be my downfall

i can't believe the first genshin kiss is between an oceanid and a human. how funny it is apart, i always find old people's love stories so sweet and it was actually a really cute moment. especially knowing finch spent his entire life thinking about callirhoe despite their distance and that one day he too will disappear from this world. it's so so pretty that their love withstands and transcends the passage of time and even their physical forms. that they now have a physical manifestation of it too, proving they're always together even when they're apart. i think hoyoverse making so many parallels between the poems throughout this event and the different characters and duos is such a cute detail too. callirhoe promising finch that she would appear in his dreams as long as he calls her name vs xiao promising he'll be there anywhere and anytime as long as traveller calls his name. this event and specifically the parallel being done with a love story, one that withstands anything specifically... dreams being such a constant theme during the event and associated with them... sweet dream... people's dreams... traveller protecting xiao's dreams in official art... there's just so many little details that tie together. an exclusive promise for eternal bonding between two beings... the song playing when traveller and xiao both meet for the first time being called lover's oath... this meeting taking place in wangshu inn, a haven for lovers' moonlit rendezvous... the chinese title of the song meaning one's love will last forever... i just think it's incredibly sweet, no matter how you choose to interpret it

#i have such a big appreciating for all these little details #it's definitely one of the reasons i enjoy genshin so much #no matter what you pick there will always be so much depth behind it #the same way xingqiu also made a poem referencing him and chongyun both silk and cor lapis being their respective ascencion materials #you can debate it's a coincidence or you can dwell on the meaning behind his words and their relationship and i think that's beautiful #god i love this stupid game
