Alright before I post any more Battle Addict stuff I should probably explain what a League Council is. Here's a summarized diagram:

A Pokemon League is a region's network of specialized skilled trainers. It is run by the League Council, which includes finance, HR, marketing, PR, and other managing departments which are divided into different branches depending on who they work with.

This is all to say that everything gets messy very quickly when news of the diagnosis spreads through the network. Originally the diagnosis was supposed to be private information for only the Battle and League departments, however certain higher ups felt it was a safety risk and notified gym leaders as well in the event of future collaborations.

The network is mostly divided into people who are positive/neutral about the news, and people who feel negatively about the twins as a result. Coworkers who were already familiar/close with the two tend to be positive, or at least supportive, whereas those who didn't know them got another reason to avoid them. Some people think they should go on leave for "recovery", but some are more forward and want them terminated.

If you're wondering where Cynthia falls in this, she's a foreign top league worker (Sinnoh Champion) who is hosted in Unova. Basically she has dept. employees assigned to help her connect to people around the region and get different services if requested. She's basically watching everything unfold from the sidelines, with every interview about her opinion boiling down to "lol if you're scared of people stronger than you then get good". She does also bring up historic accounts of CM/HCCM though, mostly to clarify that CM is not a new or scary thing. She's not for or against the twins, rather just hoping to use this as an opportunity to teach others.

I didn't end up drawing her because I got tired but Elesa got the news too!! She actually got it before everyone else since the twins decided to go tell her beforehand. The general scene basically had Ingo and Emmet deliberating in the car, Ingo telling Emmet it's not too late to turn around and go home while Emmet was hesitant but adamant that they needed to tell her first. She probably took it the worst out of everyone but that's mostly just cause it caught her off guard that her friends would just randomly drop in to deliver the news. She's still rooting for them though, mostly trying to support the Subway with more collaborative events to make the twins look better after the hit from the media. She also tries to rework Emmet's restraints where possible, usually trying to make them look more cohesive with the rest of an outfit or trying to make them less visible (cause as much as Emmet says it's not a big deal it's still the first thing he looks at in his reflection).

"Why is Alola so hated?"

Someone asked this question on Reddit.

"Other than too much dialogue what is the worst thing about Alola. Alola is my favorite Pokémon games and region for a multitude of reasons but all I hear about it is that it has too much dialogue. I can understand that but later titles have just as much dialogue especially in the beginning portions of the game. So why is such an issue in these games than any other in the series. Also you thought the GD games were dark, the Aether Family are very dark concept if you want to look into them. Anyways back on topic, why are Alola considered the worst games besides the dialogue of course"

I thought about this question and I ended up writing a lengthy reply, see below. For context I should mention that Sun and Moon were my favourite mainline stories:

"So everyone is mentioning USUM, but since I was around for the launch of the games, I may as well throw my hat into the ring and explain what went wrong:

Everyone was really excited for the games to come out, but there was generally something missing from them. Promotional material was overly vague.

When the original Sun and Moon came out they had the following issues:

The story was very handholdy. I am a GREAT FAN of the story mode, but I have never replayed these games because they are basically visual novels. If you were a Nuzlocker, someone who wanted to replay Pokemon games, or if you didn't like the story, then these versions would automatically become your least favourite because of how long it takes to reach each milestone. It's also easier than a lot of prior games, not as easy as Gen 6 or 8 but up there.

While the region is IMO one of the most cohesive, it's also one of the least expansive. The Alola Region is fucking tiny. There's not nearly as many side things to do as in generations 4 and 5, and the new things they put into the Alola games were a lot less fun gimmick-wise. I like that they abandon the grid system, it needed to go, but Pokemon team don't seem to work well in 3d.

The online multiplayer was total ass. Of course, the online only got WORSE From here on out. How you get worse than Festival Plaza is beyond me, but I think Gen 7 is definitely when Pokemon jumped from having the BEST multiplayer system on Nintendo systems in generation 6 to one of the worst. Personally I was also disappointed the Festival Plaza wasn't a bit more like the Wifi Plaza, which was already a broken terrible mess but at least had some minigames. It seemed to take the wrong inspiration from Wifi Plaza, and tragically Pokemon only went downhill with online compatibility after. Because while technically the online is more fun in gen 8 and 9, it doesn't work.

The games leaked before they came out. Everyone saw concept art of the starters' final evolutions and they were SO MAD that Litten became bipedal. But there were very few surprises in Sun and Moon for people who prowled the reddit, who also seemed to be the least excited about the games.

However, what I don't think you understand is how much LOVE they had. Of all the pokemon games I've been around for the release of, I think Sun and Moon were most unanimously loved. Everyone was talking about the story, and the incredible new designs of the alola pokemon, and yeah they were having a lot of trouble playing online, but people persisted.

When Ultra Sun and Moon came out, people were veeeeery disappointed for three key reasons:

This was a dual release "third version" instead of a sequel. Again, everyone LOVED the story of the original games, by this point it felt that the "third version" idea was dated, and people wanted a damn sequel with their favourite characters! I think BW2 set a very high bar for what the Pokemon team could offer, and unfortunately I don't think they ever met that bar again after they started making 3d games.

It was on the 3DS instead of the Switch. I was NEVER expecting USUM to be Switch games, I knew Pokemon team were not ready for Switch, but for some reason people expected Pokemon Stars to be a Switch game. Everyone was reaaaaally excited for Pokemon Switch after the console launched, but Pokemon has always belonged on the DS, and I felt it had more potential for growth on that console before moving up on the chain. Of course, after the negative reaction to USUM and the begging for Pokemon Switch, Game Freak HAD to start development on Let's Go and Sw/Sh.

The things they'd added into the game were not as impressive as the other Third Versions. Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Platinum were objective improvements from the original, though I have some things to say about Emerald's pacing. I like the minigames from Ultra, I fell SO in love with the Camera mode!!! Spent so much time fucking around in it and still have a folder in my computer to this day. HOWEVER, the people still yearn for a Battle Frontier! The Battle Factory they put in USUM seems to be based on community, which was already a pain in the ass, and as you know, it's now impossible to play online with others, so RIP to that as well. I like the changes to the Battle Tree, I love Rainbow Rocket, but while Platinum and Emerald were NECESSARY IMPROVEMENTS from the ground up, USUM only improved some of the battles and held down everything else with more, worse cutscenes.

The story was much worse than the original, choosing to cut and change content instead of improve upon what was there. The story of Platinum and Emerald doesn't come across as worse than DP and RS, but EVERYONE thinks the story for USUM is a downgrade. The reason for this is because if Lillie was the true protagonist of the games originally, the Ultra versions tried to cut her down, but only for a couple of her most important scenes. She and Lusamine basically have every scene intact except for their most important, climactic moments. It's like if instead of BW2, they made Pokemon Grey but it was split in half, and instead of being an evil fucko gunning for world domination, Ghetsis was trying to use the power of the two Dragons to stop Kyurem from freezing the world, except he still abused pokemon, and he still abused N from childhood, and N never showed up to become champion and N never realised the truth of pokemon or turned against his father. How terrible would that be?

No remakes or anything special at the end of the gen. For the past few generations we'd either had remakes or sequels, but Gen 7 released USUM and Let's Go. It's debatable whether the Lets Go games are part of gen 7, but I wouldn't consider them remakes the same way that HGSS or ORAS are, and they are CERTAINLY not a favourite with a hardcore Pokemon audience. At least Gen 8/9 had decent DLC and Legends Arceus as a halfhearted apology note, but unfortunately there was no swan song at the end of Generation 7.

I think ultimately that's what made people go from "Gen 7 could be the best yet" to "Gen 7 bad". The launch was very strong, but the followup was the poorest out of almost any gen.

My personal opinion of USUM is it is one of the best pokemon games for general battles, I think it would be a lot more fun to nuzlocke than the original Sun and Moon, but there's a lot of better pokemon games to replay than USUM, especially if you're taking modded into account. I think sun and moon were the most immersive out of the games I've played, at the very least because it had improvements like trainer models in battles without the uncanny as hell stuff you got in the next two gens. I remember the games fondly, even if I do feel bitter about the story changes."

I thought this reply was worth sharing on this blog. I put a lot of effort into it.

it is so terrifying to be a filipino right now. i’m watching the final rally before the presidential election on monday and i can’t help remembering the last time we had our presidential elections: being unable to sleep, my heart pounding, as i watched a murderer become president-elect. losing hope and going to bed, only to wake up the next morning to the revelation that, at one point in the night, my vice presidential bet⁠—a good, honest, hardworking grassroots lawyer--had overtaken her rival, the son of our last dictator.

our vice president today, leni robredo, is now a presidential candidate. she’s number two in the polls, trailing after her then-rival. yep, the son of ferdinand fucking m/arcos is running for president (link to a bbc article), and is trying to reclaim the glory of his father’s dictatorship. the dictatorship marked by torture, extrajudicial killings, disappearances, and death. the dictatorship everyone lost someone to.

i can’t even begin to talk about how angry i am about the fact that a man who has never acknowledged the injustices caused by his family or given back the billions of pesos⁠—$10 billion, according to the UN⁠—that the marcoses stole, could be president. it scares me to see the wealthiest in the country rallying for him; even some of my goddamn relatives benefited from martial law, and filipinos’ culture of utang na loob⁠—indebtedness, or a debt of gratitude, often intergenerational⁠—keeps them thanking the marcoses for the buildings they built, even if the buildings were built on the literal corpses of workers. even if they erected those bridges using our taxes, while imprisoning and killing our relatives, or devaluing the peso so much that we had to send people abroad.

but watching leni’s campaign gives me hope. leni was voted our vice president in 2016, but duterte constantly made sexist jokes towards her, refused to give her a Cabinet seat because she was critical of his violent “war on drugs”, and threatened her for actually being first on the ground whenever a natural disaster occurred or devastated a region. she’s persevered despite her rival candidates’ fake news and threats. she isn’t rich; she lives in a modest home, and as a lawyer for the marginalized, has always listened to the smallest, most grounded farmer. she’s endorsing a katutubo (indigenous person) as a senator⁠—the first presidential candidate to really, truly campaign for our tribes, our PWDs, our LGBT community. she did more for this gd country when covid hit than our president did, creating covid taskforces to help frontliners, mobilizing local government units, and more.

and she’s inspired so many people. 

seeing my coworkers in advertising volunteer their time and effort and skills to build her campaign from the ground-up gets me so emotional. 

reading messages from the higher-ups in my agency as they refuse to stay silent, unlike those at my last agency. 

watching my friends go house-to-house in underprivileged areas to campaign for leni, hoping that their words and real, genuine promises will change minds better, and more completely, than the bribes given by the other candidate.

seeing celebrities, who are often apolitical or easily swayed by money, come out as leni supporters, advocate for leni, perform at her rallies for free, and talk about the importance of voting right. voting according to one’s conscience. 

seeing my mom give away leni campaign paraphernalia and talk to her friends about politics, which is tough when some of her closest friends are part of the complex, oftentimes corrupt political machinery that needs to be ended. (it’s something we’ve argued about in the past, but she really does believe in leni. she’s flying home tomorrow from her conference in the USA just to vote for leni. because she wants to be here. because she wants to make her vote count.)

i am so tired and so scared, but i really do want to believe that this volunteer-led campaign will do something. that on monday, the people will choose a better future built on radikal na pagmamahal, or radical love for others, rather than one built on a dictator family’s pride and ego and ambition. that we can move past the most corrupt, most murderous goddamn administration since the marcoses.

it’s hard because filipinos are obsessed with machismo. sexism is so gd real in this country. the opponents are bribing people and using underhanded tactics to get ahead. so my mind has not been here at all. but i’m hoping things will be better next week. that i will actually be able to enjoy things. that soon i’ll be able to think of this country and its future—our future—without wanting to leave. 

we deserve better. so we need to vote better.

Let’s start with the abomination that causes desolation. This is lifted from Wikipedia:

"Abomination of desolation" is a phrase from the Book of Daniel describing the pagan sacrifices with which the 2nd century BCE Greek king Antiochus IV replaced the twice-daily offering in the Jewish temple, or alternatively the altar on which such offerings were made.

So when the temple sees Pagan activity.. well, this could be anything. Sacrifices would be the most literal interpretation, but what about… a museum gift shop? Another religion setting up in the area? We already see other religions in the area.. what is pagan? Must there be offerings left? I think this is open to interpretation.

But will it be something that has occurred slowly over time? Or a very specific singular event?

And then let those that are in Judea flee into the mountains.

I think, comparing the map of Judea to where Palestine and Israel are now? That the event that will instruct the people to flee will be a singular event. When the people have been pushed.. and pushed… and Israel has spread? And when Islamic sites of religious and historical importance are already where the Temple once stood?

I am prone to thinking.. that some event will occur. Much like the parade in Brazil shortly before the heavy rains and landslides… perhaps there will be a demonstration. A protest. A burning. Some activity designed to offend and incite. Perhaps a threat to the people.

A threat that will be so immediate, so heinous, that the people are instructed to leave immediately. What could it be? A nuclear attack? An invasion? I am prone to believing so. A small, keyword being small, targeted nuclear attack. A bomb? A release of anthrax? It’s uncertain, just that it will be terrible. Some terrible attack, immediately following.. some threat. Some insult. Some inciting event.

Something.. that CAN be escaped, but only if once you hear word, you leave immediately. Don’t go into the house to pick up your children, or your pets. Don’t grab a jacket. Just GO. Pregnant women, forced to move at full speed, to leave behind supplies, cribs, nurseries. Nursing mothers, having to leave babies in their cots. A horrible thing that will be seen specifically.. In Israel. Furthering my thoughts that it won’t be Christians around the world who will be hated, but specifically a sect, or sects, in this region.

And why great distress in the winter or on the Sabbath? Well, as we know, not even Jesus Christ the son of Gd knows when these events are to come, only Gd knows. But I think we can piece some things together.

The winter? No jacket? You’re miserable, and cold, and you’re going into the MOUNTAINS without any supplies. So I googled it. A mountain in Israel is Mount Hermon. A town on Mount Hermon is Neve Ativ. Neve Ativ seems to have about the same weather currently in April 2023 as the Appalachian mountains in the eastern United States. Which get fairly cold in the winter. Not Alaska cold, but still, people could die, especially with climate change making the weather more severe. Especially if people are fleeing from their homes in lounging clothes.

But why on the sabbath?

Let’s keep in mind that Jesus Christ is and was a Jew. A Jew. So saying “Sunday” is the wrong answer.

Let’s say “Shabbat.” And Shabbat takes place from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. Why would a flee into the mountains.. be so much worse if it happened on Friday night or Saturday? You’re not in the office. You’re not working. You’re not trapped, away from your family. Rather.. you’re with your family. Or in church.

Did that strike a chord?

You’re in temple. Church. A place of worship.

You’re crowded together… away from your phones… from your television.. unable to hear the news of the atrocity. And let’s say that you do hear the news.. most Jews stay away from electronic devices on Shabbat. And you say “alright, but those are Jews. We’re discussing Christians in Israel on the sabbath.” What are they still, presumably, doing? Something at church. Gathered together. Not on their phones. Watching service. In a group where they can easily be massacred, or bombed. Or what if they’re at home, having a family meal? Do you have your phone on you? Do you pause, to try and grab a toy to keep your five year old occupied? You’re together. If you’re at work, by yourself, you can focus on yourself, and try to flee. If you’re surrounded by family.. you try to be a good person.

You try, to help.

And Jesus Christ knew that his people would want to help. Because that is who the Christians are. And that? Spells their death. You’re at church? Dead. Whether by biological weapon, natural disaster, or bomb.. you have to think of yourself, or it’s too late. Could you say you would leave your pets behind? I couldn’t.

Modern Day Assassin's Creed Headcanons

These are some very general AC headcanons, talking about the modern day characters because gd, I actually like them fight me.

Modern day assassin's go about things in a simultaneously traditional way and more modern way. So, training is a lot of the core tenants mixed with more modern elements.

Modern assassins don't actually weak the garb from the past unless it's like, a super special ceremony. They dress just like we do because come on. Come on. There's a reason Torres said "the costume made infamous by your secret organization."

I feel like all assassins are huge intersectional feminists. I'm not taking questions on that.

Assassins also have localized mentors. So, y'know, Midwestern assassins have a league of mentors that specialize by sector. There's so many assassins now that it just makes sense?

The way ranks work now is relatively the same? They kept a lot of old tradition.

There are assassins that aren't in the field. Researchers, data retrieval, not all of them are physical soldiers, BUT, all of them know how to fight should they absolutely need to.

Parkour is still essential to the assassin training core. Modern day assassins actually tend to forget about parkour because everyone wants to fight instead.

Freerunning styles actually differ by region! Western European styles drip with style and show where as North American freerunning is filled with showmanship and a little messy!

The traditions of different brotherhoods drip into their assassins. Where as the West Indies Assassins may enjoy one method of assassination, the SEAsian Assassins will enjoy something else and will often default to that as well.

Assassins have different nicknames and are often bonded by the brotherhood they come from.

There's a weird rivalry between the Midwestern Assassins and the New England Assassins. No one knows why, but it's existed for decades. All friendly, of course.

Hell even by country the assassin brotherhoods will differ. The culture is blanketed the same, but varies WILDLY by the society they exist in. The Bolivian brotherhood is leagues different than the Nepal brotherhood. That's just how it is.

Each brotherhood has the universal traditions mixed in with their own that get passed down from generation to generation of assassin. Some of these traditions are centuries old (looking at Altair's home).

Assassins are literally everywhere. They are a global unit, and they are well known within the "secret organization" world.

The Templars are no different.

This is essentially a war that will never end due to human stubbornness and a general lack of not being able to communicate.

It confuses the assassins wildly why Abstergo, a Templar company, would make games and media based off of Assassin history.

Assassins are nomadic by nature.

While it was never Aya and Bayek's intent for the Hidden Ones to become figureheads in their own community, there's a lot of lessons to be learned from those who came before. Aya, who became Amunet, is one of the most celebrated and beloved assassins in all history. It's why there was a tomb hidden away for her in Italy.

All of the greats get remembered in ways they never really expected, and of course, there are jokes surrounding their lives that exist to this day.

Some inside jokes are only understood by a singular brotherhood.

Modern day assassins are also extremely well rounded individuals. They know a plethora of skills to blend in with whatever their situation calls for given their missions and the calls of their mentors.

The brotherhood will also pay off college debts/put you through college. They value their assassins to be educated in a plethora of things, college/university being one of them.

Literally there's a place for everyone in the brotherhood. Whether it be in the field, or archiving data, there is always somewhere for you in the brotherhood.

It's not uncommon for older, but not mentor assassins to take in younger/less experienced assassins and train them as well.

Look, camaraderie is a big thing and always will be.

Assassins that are more nomadic than others tend to live in groups, like what Rebecca, Shaun and Desmond were doing.

Groups are deeply personal.

Idk why they made the animus like, a VR headset at one point but I like to think it's not entirely like that???

Yes, you can check out your ancestors in the animus.

Most assassins can speak multiple languages and are versed in some type of sign language.

Assassins are more often than not a heritage thing, but they accept people whenever.

The bleeding effect is still very much a thing. Sometimes, that's how novices will work in a bind.

Sometimes, saying "requiescat in pace" is a bit of a joke in their circles.

You do not badmouth the legends of the past.

Sometimes, assassins will go a little rogue and work with Templars for the greater good. This happens more often than not, and when it does, it has to be extremely hush hush.

Modern assassins and Templars are more willing to talk about things than their predecessors.

Birds are still a big thing with the creed. More often than not, assassins are taught falconry.

You can't have a fear of birds lmfao.

Some assassins have parrots. African Greys, Cockatoos, macaws, stuff like that! Some have crows, ravens, hawks, it goes on. Birds are integral to the creed.

Assassins have like, safe houses and stuff, some more showy than others and grand. There are hidden statues around of different mentors in accordance with what they did in life. In the rafters, windowsills, it's kinda fun. Like an easter egg.

Layla Hassan was super interesting for the time she was part of the assassins and many are still torn on how to feel about her. Shaun and Rebecca especially.

Modern assassins are often more stuck in history than they would like to admit.

At Garreg Mach monastery, a request has come in from the Goneril Valkyries for assistance in manning and repairing Fodlan’s Locket. An early snowstorm, coupled with the damage from Gricenchos two months prior, has caused no small trouble for Fodlan’s primary eastern fortress. A call goes out to the Golden Deer House:

This season’s rotation belongs to the Golden Deer! As before, threads using tasks from the Golden Deer board must contain a Golden Deer character as a participant, but there are also non-mission tasks available to everyone without restrictions.

Ever since the incident with Gricenchos, already-fraught tensions between Fodlan and Almyra have run even higher. Captain Irina has seemed more stressed lately whenever Elam, head of Almyra’s border guard and Irina’s ‘friend’, appears at the Locket. It appears that, against her better judgment, he’s adamant about offering his help too, along with a couple of the friendlier Almyrans. Surprisingly though, the most immediate issue seems to be that the Almyrans’ wyverns won’t stop bullying the pegasi! Got any solutions?

Part of the Valkyries’ training is learning to maneuver their pegasi dauntlessly through arrow fire: a pegasus knight’s worst fear. However, with so many of the archers who usually assist them assigned to other duties or relocated throughout the Alliance, they’re short on hands. Just before the storm that devastated the Locket, a routine patrol came across an odd young man traveling alone in the northern region of the Throat. Something about him seemed strange, and he carried a sinister, bejeweled set of gauntlets made in striking Kupalan style. Even odder, he seemed to completely vanish before the patrol could bring him in. The snowstorm had come in from the north and completely unexpected, and rumors are spreading that he might have been the cause. Likely a snowstorm is just a snowstorm, but with all the unease, Irina is obliged to at least ask you to investigate. [Grants Gauntlet +1]

Distress calls have come in from some of the surrounding settlements as well: destroyed bridges, travel routes covered in snow, people who went missing in the storm. There’s no shortage of work to be done, but everyone is forbidden from going out without at least one partner. The Locket also has a team of search and rescue dogs for occasions like these that are trained to help, so take along one of those big fluffers with you!

Work never ends at the Locket, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for enjoyment, too. Late at night, when the howling winds of the Throat are at their loudest, the border guard sets up a bonfire in the fortress courtyard, passing out roast meat and warm drinks and sharing a song or two. The temperatures may be dropping faster in the mountains than almost anywhere else in Fodlan, but the view of the night sky is unimpeded: a moment of peace even in all the tumult.

There’s been talk of a particularly enormous canine stalking the outskirts of Garreg Mach, and several reports of this rare monster sighting have led the administration to decide to do something about it. Apparently, there’s someone who also claims that this massive wolf is guarding a collection of highly rare wootz steel in its den. The blacksmiths would love you if you could bring back some of it.

The 21st of the Red Wolf Moon marks the anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom, and the dining hall is serving foods from Faerghus to celebrate. Though not as lavish as the Alliance Founding Day fair, there are a few events going on around town too, among them jousting tournaments, horse races, and horse shows in the spirit of Faerghus’ most well known traditions. How does the divided task board work?

This season’s mission is assigned to the Golden Deer. Therefore, tasks from the ‘GD Mission Task Board’ must be undertaken by someone from the Golden Deer House. However, they may choose to perform the task with someone who is not from their house. In logistical terms, this means that if you play a non-GD muse and want to do a mission task, you must ask someone who plays a GD muse to thread with you. All thread participants will still receive any skill point rewards.

Tasks from the ‘Non-Mission Task Board’ have no house restriction and can be undertaken by anyone.

These aren’t the only threads I can do, right?

Of course not! These are just prompts to help give some ideas of possibilities. You’re always free and encouraged to make up your own threads.

How do I claim the skill points?

In order to qualify for the skill point, the thread must clearly allude to the listed task and preferably feature the task being completed. You do not need to message the masterlist to claim your skill point.

Can I only do one task?

Nope, you can do as many as you’d like with as many different partners as you’d like! You can do the same task with more than one person. You are also free to combine tasks in your thread. However, you can only claim any skill points once, and one thread can only count for one skill point.

What if my partner leaves or drops a skill point thread?

If the dropped thread has at least 5 notes (not counting likes, only reblogs with replies in them) and you have hit at least 400 words on your end, you may still claim the skill point. The mun dropping the thread is not eligible to claim the point.

Calpheon Valkyrie Academy

Rozenelle went back to Calpheon to me one of the dearest friends of hers who is a Calpheon’s Elionian Priest, Leona. She arrived on the very next day in the afternoon. She could see lots of people were in the church.

‘A ceremony?’ She asked herself and went in. She found an empty seat by the bences and sat down while waiting for the ceremony to be done. As soon as it was done, she stood up and walked towards Leona.

“Rozenelle? Is that you?” Leona gasped, a bit surprised to see her. Rozenelle never liked visiting the church because some of the priests. She giggled and politely greet the Elionian Priest, receiving a bow from Leona.

“How are you, Leona? Sorry I have not been visiting you a lot,” Rozenelle started the conversation. 

“I’m great, especially seeing you. Still a short girl, I see. How have you been, little lady? Still on adventures?” Leona said while patting her head playfully, in which receiving little whine from the cat-witch.

“As usual you see me from before-” her talks was cut short as someone was clearing his throat, rather loudly.

Lehard Motenon

Rozenelle peeked a bit behind Leona. It was the High Priest, Lehard Motenon. Most of the priests in Calpheo knows that she never liked him, even before he was the high priest. In fact, Rozenelle does not like every single of the priest in Calpheon except for Leona.

“Nice seeing you, Motenon,” she greeted coldly. The High Priest just look at her unamused but nodded his head as he acknowledge her greeting. Rozenelle went back looking at Leona. Leona noticed her facial expression changed and patted on her shoulder.

“I should get going now, then. It was nice seeing you, Leona.”

“It was nice seeing you too. I promise when I’m done, I will catch up with you, little witch,” Leona pinched her cheek a little, another whines emit from Rozenelle. She turned around and leave the church without looking back.

‘Hmm, where to go- Oh, I wonder if there’s something new in the library,’ she thought to herself and walked towards the College Library.

Calpheon College Library

She entered the library with careful steps as her heels surely do lots of click-clack sound when she walks. She moved to a corner of the library, surveying the bookcases for her reading materials. There was a student - a Valkyrie, was reading a book. Not sure what was it but it sure filled with lines of sentences. Carefully not to distract her, Rozenelle moved behind her and stayed in a corner between the student and the bookshelves.

She loves reading and writing but since she is too busy travelling and receiving task - blaming this on Calpheon Councils, she hardly have time to do so and since she was already there, she felt it is a waste if she does not use the opportunity to gain a little bit more knowledge at that time. She pulled out a book. It was about Valkyrie. She flipped few pages, doing some speed reading before closing it. She placed the book back accordingly as before she took it and browsed on another shelf.

‘Lots of new books since the last time... How many years have it been?’ SHe sighed, accidentally a bit loud that the Librarian - Annolisa Rosie shushed her. Rozenelle looked at her and bowed a little as a sorry.

Unexpected Visitor

Rozenelle moved to the other side of the bookcases and pulled out a new book - pretty sure it was about Calpheon's war with another region in the world. After a while, Rozenelle felt a familiar presence nearby. She tried to ignore it but she felt uncomfortable.

“GD, I know you’re there,” she said in whispers. GD showed himself, wlaking out from his ‘hiding’ and rubbed the back of his neck. 

“How did you know it was me?” He questioned her. She giggled quietly before placing a finger on her lips.

“It’s a secret - a secret must be kept,” she answered him. She went back reading the book as he silently waiting for her. He leaned onto the bookshelf and watched her. He moved slightly, trying to disturb him - only to get a side-eyes from her as warning. He cancelled his intention as it would angered the cat-witch.

Rozenelle tried concentrating back on the book but seems like it fails - his presence a lot stronger to distract her. She closed the book and put it back on the shelves.

The Valkyries

She could tell that GD was dying of boredom while waiting for her before. She brought him outside and showed him around.

“Do you want some Valkyries practicing?” 

“No-”

“Come on!” She literally pulled him towards the training are for the Valkyrie. She shook his head and chuckled at her actions. They both stand by the area and watching them practicing on one of each other. Some of them practicing with the scarecrow dummies.

“Why all of them is red headed?” GD questioned.

“it’s their tradition... That’s what I read, just now and from my friends here... They’re now instructors,” she grinned widely at GD, receiving another head shake from him.

“Follow me~ We’re going somewhere high~” She pulled him again to a secret room but not so secret, leading them to a bunch of staircases.

“Up this ladder!” She excitedly told him and climbed up the ladders first, followed by him until the arrived at the highest part of the structure. The wind blows rather stronger than the bottom part of the place.

“You can see the city from here and oh, the view during sunrise and sunset is pretty also!”

“But we’re in the broad daylight...” GD stated the obvious.

“Exactly...” She sound a little disappointed.

“Maybe we can come here again later, in future?” He suggested. She quickly nodded her head and smile widely.

“Okay! But now, let’s go down. Me first!” She jumped down without any warning.

“Rozenelle- WAIT!” GD quickly looked down from the place when she jumped, only to find her fine at the lower level of the tower - waving at him. She gave him a mini heart attack there.

“You just wait- I will pay back!” He said as he used the ladders to go down while she laughed and jumped her way down bit by bit.

White Rose and Red Rose

GD chased her to the middle of the white roses flowerbed with her still laughing at her little stun she did just now.

“Don’t even do that, again. You hear me?” GD warned.

“Yeah, yeah,” she still unable to control her laugh. It took her a few minutes until her laughter was gone. She took a deep breath as she feeling light headed for laughing too long.

:Better now?” GD asked, seeing how tired she looks from laughing.

“Better~” She grinned widely. He shook his hear and chuckled. 

“Oh, anyway..I have a present for you.”

“Me too! Let’s give it together!” She replied excitedly. She took a rose from her back, was hidden by her cape while GD took a rose from his side - hidden by his little cape too.

Rozenelle shyly looked away and GD got onto his infamous pose, onto one of his knee and they both spread out their arms to present a red rose. She looked to her side where he was kneeling. Both of them laughed.

“Wow, how can we both have the same thought?” He asked nervously.

“I don’t know. You tell me,” she said as she rested her palms onto her cheeks, feeling her cheeks getting hotter.

“And... I looked like I was proposing or something-”

“Not that I care~” Rozenelle said as she ran towards her horse, leaving a dumbfounded GD there.

‘Wait... Did she just leave me here...?’ He thought to himself before screaming her name and running after her with his horse.

Chapter 1: Is it lunch time yet?

Adaine clicked the locks on her suitcase into place. She looked around the small apartment she’d called home for the past two years. Since moving out of Jawbones’ place after her 16th birthday she’d made the apartment above the deli her home. Adaine was excited to go to Aguefort University of Violence; the university was only a year old. At the start of her senior year Professor Aguefort announced that since he had died, came back to life, and took back control of the Adventuring Academy he was bored and wanted to be a dean of a fancy university. Since none would take him he started his own university. Only 6 people died during the first school year so it felt like a safe choice. As Adaine finished taking her last look around Zadye floated into the room.

“God dammit Zadye, just because it is my last day here doesn’t mean you can break the not announce yourself rule.” Adaine said annoyed.

“Now that you’re leaving I need to prep this place for one hell of a haunting.” Zadye said very pleased. “What is scarier this…” The room became icey cold and sets of eyes seemed to fill every shadow “or this?” Blood starts to drip down the wall and the smell of death takes over the room.

“Still not over being kicked out of the theatre department?”

“It was a bullshit call from Ms. Jones!” Zadye took a pause. “Hey Adaine, this shithole will be my main haunt but would it be cool with you if I haunted your dorm room from time to time?”

“If you can follow the announcing yourself rule then yes. If my roommate is terrible then you only need to follow that rule if I’m home.” Adaine offered. She was going to miss Zadye not his mellow drama goth kid stuff but the person, while ghost, under that front.

“I will scare that bitch to death if she doesn’t meet your cleaning standards.” and puff Zadye was vanished.

“Zayde, just because you don’t want to confront your feelings doesn’t mean you leave the conversation.” Adaine yelled and a bloody middle finger appeared on the door. She rolled her eyes and left the first place that ever felt like her home.

As she closed the door a text came in from Fig.

“Fig, you haven’t packed anything! We have to move you in tomorrow!” Sandra Lynn yelled from stairs to the attic.

“Ugh Mom get off my case!” Fig yelled continuing to play her bass behind a closed door.

“Now Fig, I know I’m not your parent and it’s not my place to tell you how to live your life but it is my job to help get you college ready. And as a guidance counselor I can tell you, you have to pack your stuff before moving into your dorm room.” Jawbone offered. Fig could tell that he was standing by her mom.

“I have until 8am. I’m working on a sick song called I’m in College for a Great Time.” Little did her mom know that she wasn’t technically in college. Arthur was just letting her move into a dorm in exchange for her playing at the on campus coffee shop.

“I’m calling your father!” Fig hit a cord.

“Which one?” Sandra-Lynn didn’t answer but Fig could hear her calling someone. The crystal ran when a voicemail picked up. It was muffled but Fig’s keen ears could make it out.

“Hello you have reached Principal Gilear Faeth, I can’t come to the phone right now but….Ragh stop it! I’m not the lunch lad anymore, no need for the BBQ sauce. BEEP” Gilear had had that voicemail for nearly a year and he couldn’t figure out how to change it.

“One down, one to go! Either way, I’m not starting for a while.” Fig called out. She knew she pushed her mom too far when one of her arrows hit the door lock breaking it. Her mom pushed the door open with Jawbone behind her.

“Fig, it is 6pm the day before you start at AUV. Get it together. You don’t want to forget anything. You need to get started, I don’t know what you need.” Sandra Lynn looked ready to start a mom rant.

“Ugh, I have a plan!” Fig put her bass down and picked up her crystal. She send Adaine a text asking her to cast unseen servant to pack her bags. “I just texted Adaine to help!” A moment later Fig’s items start sort, fold, and pack themselves.

“Well you’re not always going to have a wizard around to help.” Sandra Lynn said, rolling her eyes. After they left, Jawbone and Sandra Lynn shared a laugh.

“I am Fabian Seacaster, Son of Hallariel Seacaster, and I am here to get my room assignment.” Fabian declared at what looked to be the weakling incharge of check in.

“Does Seacaster start with a C or an S?” The man asked. Fabian narrowed his eyes.

“Are you mocking me?” He flipped over the table and lifted the man in the air. “I can tell you right now you do not want too…” The man vanished from his hands. “Where the hell?”

“I found it by your first name, you’re the only Fabian of your class. You are living in The Hall of Our Fathers’ floor 2. And lucky you; a single!” The man had blinked a few feet away.

“Fabian, try not to kill the RAs.” Hallariel said coming up from behind. “Now my baby needs your finest suite.”

“Well, we have dorms not suite. Fabian has been asided our average-ist single.” The RA said. “I am Swaine Smyth and I will be you RA. Now I’m not going to write you up for grabbing me cause I’m cool like that but consider this an informal warning.”

“While Swaine consider yourself warn!” Fabian whipped around, paused for a moment and turned back. “Now how do I get to my dorm?” Swaine gave him direction. Fabian and his mother headed off for the dorms followed by pirates carrying all of his things.

Once they reached room D20 they were surprised to see Gilear. Hallariel greet him with a kiss. Fabian considered killing for the millionth time.

“Fig’s fake father what are you doing here?” Fabian said as he opened the door.

“Oh...well Fig and Gorthalax are running late. I think they went to hell to get some decoration for her dorm. I thought I’d said hello to you, your mother, and our future child.” Gilear said touching his mother’s stomach.

“I cannot believe you will be the father to my future awesome brother. He will have so much to overcome being half you.”

“Hurtful...well I will go see if I can find Fig. I believe she is in room D6.” Gilear left. As he turn Fabian noticed a single bean on the backside of his pants.

“Thank you so much for helping me move in. My parents are at a church fundraising and won’t be coming till later.” Kristen said to Tracker as she hopped onto her freshly made bed.

“No problem,” Tracker said joining Kristen on the bed “I can’t believe you got a single.”

“Perks of knowing the dean and founding a new region that is extremely popular among young people so I can afford a little upgrade.” Kristen said looking at her pride flag with YES! Printed over it.

“Hey, makes it easier to come and visit.” Tracker said as she snuggled closer. “Plus it makes it nice that you won’t freak out any roommate trying to convert them.”

“YES! Doesn’t want me to convert per say just ask people to care more.” A knock at the door or room D4. “Here come my folks, let’s be extra gay.” Kristen said getting up to greet her parents Mac and Donna as well as her brothers Bricker, Buckey, and Cork.

“Kristen; you missed a great corn cake breakfast. We raised 400 gold pieces for Sole!” Donna said excitedly.

“Mom, we both know that Sole doesn’t need money. He runs the most profitably chain of self tanning places ever. It’s the Fantasy McDonalds of sun tanning. The best thing that ever happened to him was falling from the heavens.”

“Kristen, don’t be like that Sole needs to to make sure Helio’s beer pong x-sports league gets off the ground...I see she is here.” Mac said looking at Tracker.

“Yes Dad, my girlfriend of 3 years is here to help me move in since you were raising money for beer pong sports.” Her brothers had gathered around Tracker.

“Tracker! Do the trick for us!” Cork begged. “Please!” Added Buckey.

“Okay but you guys need to make me mad.” Tracker said. The three boys started make funny faces. In response, Tracker turned her face into that of her wolf form. “Howl, howl, howl” chanted the boys. Tracker started making wolf noises to entertain them.

“I don’t love the boys playing with people like...while you know.” Her dad trailed off carefully watching Tracker.

“Gay people? Like me? I don’t know why I invited you. We can either go and have a nice meal at the family move in lunch or you can leave and keep being a homophobe.”

“Don’t call us that, we love all people but we don’t trust all people” Her mom shot back.

“Homophobes it is; hey guys” Kristen turns to her brothers who were still being entertained by Tracker. “Because mom and dad are bigots you have to leave and stop playing with Tracker.”

“Mom and Dad being bigots ruin everything!” Bickery declared as Kristen family left.

Riz hung up his PI license on the wall of room D8. It was truly the most beautiful thing he’d ever see.

“Ok Riz, you are unpacked. Sorry I can’t stay long but my case is taking up so much time. Here is a Baston Market gift card in case you get hungry. Gorthalax and Fig are stuck in hellish traffic but they should be here by lunch and he can help you with anything. Is there anything else I can do before I had back to HQ.” Sklonda asked.

“I get it mom. In four years I will have the same problem.” Riz said. “Plus I can text the other bad kids and see if they are free to do things on the green and other such college student fun.”

“I’m so proud of you sweetie and I know your dad would be too.”

“Thanks mom.”

Gorgug drove the car as his parents cried in the back seat.

“Gorgug, buddy we are so so gd proud of you! It seems like yesterday you died for the first time and now you are starting college. Before you know it Wilma” his dad started crying harder. “Wilma we will be grandparents.”

“Now Gorgug, while we are sad you are leaving the tree we are mainly proud of you for going to college and being an all around great kid.” Wilma said choking back tears.

“I know, you’ve been proudly crying all day. We missed check in.”

“Oh gosh darn it did we keep you from having an important college experience.” Digby added. His parents cried harder. Gorgug stepped on the gas. They were going to get to campus just in time for the move in family lunch.

i was thinkin about giving them pokemon for this trip but. i think its better if their first pokemon come from prof oak later.

when they first got there leaf was worried that he was irritated he had to spend the whole semester with her there. he kinda scoffed and smirked at her and said something like “Are you kidding? I’d be angrier if you DIDN’T get the scholarship.” cuz they’re rivals. and he expects no less from her. he tells her something like its bad for his image if his rival isnt as good as him. he’s actually kinda happy that she’s there with him and he’s not gonna be all alone. 

this actually makes leaf really happy and kind of. sets the mood for the whole trip there

so they end up staying with this older couple who live in the heart of lumiose city and usually house the students every year. ofc they’re thrilled tho have leaf and green there. the wife owns a bakery/cafe and the husband works at the docks down in coumarine city. as a condition of them staying there, leaf helps with the bakery and green helps at the docks

when they first go there. they find out that. the kalos school doesnt require uniforms and theyre both kind of “???? so you just wear whatever??” greens perf fine with this but leafs kind worried bc she didnt bring THAT much clothes, so the couple takes both her and green shopping for kalos-style clothes. this is where leaf gets this outfit from and she LOVES IT shes adorable i love her so much

when green first sees her in it hes a little surprised because WOW what. “shes actually. kind of ok looking.” hes blushing shut up you idiot 

so they get to their new school and everyone intrigued by them oooo new transfer students whaaaat??? green right off the bat is all confident and doing his usual thing. winks at like 3 girls and they’re all fawning over him first thing.

but the school is very welcoming to them!! they get a lot of transfer student from all over the place so they have a lot of different people from different places!!

they actually have a pretty good time. a lot of the kids from school drop by the bakery just to. see leaf. same with the girls for green and business is good. amen. the couple is actually shook because they have so many profits

on weekends they get to go see kalos!!! its pretty.,. nice actually like esp traveling to like cyllage and laverre and anistar(leaf loves anistar city) 

and green is actually really enjoying theyre time there. it kind of feels like.,. dates.,. kind of.,. and he never voices it and STILL ACTS LIKE A JERK BUt.,. spending time with her here in kalos is actually kinda cool,,. we should do this more often, he thinks

they go to all the little cafes and explore that big mansion with the gardens, they actually get to go rollar skating around a couple times and ride gogoats like they live kalos life to the fullest

sometimes when they study at night he goes to her room and just chills with her on her bed (she has a huge bed and it’s really comfortable compared to his). they take turns reading the material out loud and leaf. really likes it when he reads she just lays there and stares at him and he. has a great voice shes dying a little here guys //

leaf always felt a little bit homesick. once when they were chilling in her bed she asked green if he missed home. he kinda sat there for a bit before answering with a “no, not really. it’s actually kind of nice to get away from everyone. there no real pressure to be anyone or do anything.” 

she wasnt exaclty sure what he meant but lowkey. he was actually talking. about her and him. because in kanto they’ve been rivals for so long it’d be weird to hang out with her and go see places like they do there. but no one in kalos really know them so hes just.,. ehuhhhhhh i dont wanna go home

okay ANOTHER THING THAT HAPPENED IN KALOS WAS THIS: at some point, one of the students at their school fell desperately in love with leaf and she. didn’t even like him at all. like he was just some persistent rich creep so yes. im doing this. no one can stop me. to get him to give up she asked green to pretend to be her boyfriend for like. a day or two just so he’d leave her alone. 

OFC GREENS LIKE SMIRKING THE WHOLE TIME SHES ASKING HIM THIS AND SHES BLUSHING AND EMBARRASSED BUT SHES TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE. 

greens actually a little irritated by this and is kinda ehh at first because. he doesnt wanna fool around and then actually catch feelings by accident (he doesn’t want to temp god like this hes already enjoying their time together) 

but shes. desperate and so after a few more pleads he.,. agrees and she kind of feels bad. so she apologizes for dragging him into this and then. she asks him “Can…can you handle it?” she didn’t mean it as an insult or anything she MEANT ARE YOU COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO DO IT

but what HE HEARD was a CHALLENGE so he just. stops. and turns to her. and he grabs her by her waist and pulls her REAL close to him and leans in and just “Can you?” with the widest smirk and like. the sexiest voice. and she just becomes this blushing terrible mess and shes stammering over all her words and he just fokijnff laughs because god. this is gonna be fun. 

fhjkf this is horrible okay so. the next day at school ofc hes true to his word so here we go. they pretend like theyre going out. and its the biggest scoop of the whole place. girls are crying, teachers are shocked. in the distance, sirens.

green is a pro at this bc he teases her enough as is, now he just needs to take it a little further and he’s actually enjoying the reactions he’s getting from her. like he can fuckin gently grab her hand and she turns into a mess like why did i ask him to do this i am an idiot

when they get home that night green is just laughing his ass off because she., is terrible at this and he cant believe it. she makes up some excuse and after some banter and making fun of her, green tells her that if she really wants this to look convincing, she gotta get better control over it. hes smirking the whole time. so she gets even more flustered and asks if he has any great ideas, to which he replies yes.

lets practice, he says. and she if confused and honestly a little scared. she asks how and he actually. sighs and sits down in front of her and for once, is actually smiling instead of smirking. so he adds a “Don’t freak out.” before,. gently taking her hands in his. 

shes trembling and takes a deep breath before lacing her fingers with his and this. actually turns into a nice kind of moment. the whole time hes watching her eyes. and he can see shes still nervous so he tells her. “How about we pretend like… we’re actually together for a while.” 

and shes blushing like hell because oh my god shes liked him for so long and this is so nice with him but it actually hurts a little that its not real

so he,. slips his hands around her waist and pulls close and presses her against him and slowly nuzzles his nose in her hair 

and hes. actually kind of enjoying this. 

and this feeling boils in the pit of his stomach as his lungs fill with the scent of her hair and it sends shivers over his skin and he feels his hands tracing over the small of her back and the warmth of her body on his and through the foggy blurry haziness in his head the only thought that comes out is ‘Oh no.’

and then BAM one of their caretakers slams the door open with a “Hey kids, dinner is ready!” and green IMMEDATLY grabs her arms and pushes her away and his face his red. She responds with a shocked quiet “Oh, I hope I wasn’t inturrupting-” 

and they BOTH CUT HER OFF STAMMERING AND STUTTERING WITH “No it wasn’t what it looks like-!” “We were just- uh- practicing-!” “FOR THE SCHOOL DRAMA COMING UP-” “YEAH-” and shes just. giggling and a little surprised with an “Oh! Could’ve fooled me!” before she leaves. 

and green and leaf are just standing there in awkward silence and leaf is rubbing her arm while green is rubbing the back of his neck and she leaves with a brisk “I-I think we should go get dinner-” before they both go downstairs

the next day it turns out that rich creep was too heartbroken from seeing her with green the day before that he transfered schools entirely, so oh, I guess we don’t need to keep up the act anymore, and green answers with a yeah, cool, and ignores the small feelings of disapointment and covers it up by going back to his usual snarky self 

he forces himself not to think about this for a long time because he doesnt wanna get caught up in the feels. Leaf, however, thinks about it all the time because it was really nice, but green doesnt bring it up and they were just pretending anyway hes just used to being a flirt it wasnt a big deal for him

So I bought Pokemon: Brilliant Diamond. I could say a lot about its circumstances, the Pokemon Company and ILCA and how the games didn't even ship with a proper title screen or music - as a corporate product, the stuff that had to patch in after the fact is inexcusable.

With that being said, I've been enjoying it. I want to talk about some pros and cons of the game, not to persuade anyone to get it - because again, why would you support a hatchet job outsourced to a third party that doesn't meet the high quality standards that Pokemon fans have - but because I've been liking it and I want to talk about.

Pro: at its core, it's still a Pokemon game. It's been a lot of fun running into old Pokemon and training up my team, including some suprise appearances from some Pokemon I wasn't expecting yet. Like in Floraroma Town, some guy gave me a Jirachi because I played SwSh. I have a gd JIRACHI sitting in my PC.

Con: it's still Sinnoh, with all of the caveats that comes from that.

Let me explain - I don't mean to hate on Sinnoh or the people who like it the most out of all the Pokemon settings. With that being said, Sinnoh was - and appears to still be - my least favorite Pokemon region. The story is very long, there's a lot of doubling back to earlier towns, and there are a ton of arbitrary roadblocks that funnel you to where you need to go which is really distracting.

One of my least favorite tricks that Sinnoh pulls is blocking off later areas with a group of Psyducks. I remember this happening like 3-4 times all throughout this game, and it feels so arbitrary and forced. Gens 1 to 3 felt like they were designed as one big path, with shortcuts and abilities and stuff to get from town to town. And you had big story events in earlier areas, like Viridian City having the last gym in gen 1 or the Goldenrod City Radio Tower takeover in gen 2, but you weren't constantly revisiting old regions that weren't much use to you the first time you visited.

To which you may ask - if I feel so strongly about Sinnoh, why did I buy the game?

The fact is that personal taste changes the older you get. Some stuff gets better, some stuff gets worse. I was curious about whether gen 4 was better than I give it credit for, so I splurged on the remake. And so far, the same things that bugged me the first time are bugging me this time. That's not to say the game is bad, I am enjoying myself - I just have to say that the same caveats that made gen 4 my least favorite gen are still there, which is a matter of personal taste. And even then, I'm still enjoying myself more than I'm not enjoying myself.

Pro: the Grand Underground is amazing. I always love the GU, and they've actually overhauled this mode and made it even better. They added these Pokemon statue lootbox-style pickups in the spelunking minigame, and it has all the Pokemon up to gen 4 with both regular statue forms and shiny statue forms that look like they're carved out of malechite.

One criticism I have is that there's no furniture for your secret base, it's just adding the statues you pick up to cause certain effects in the Grand Underground. But I love the statues, I love the spelunking and I love the overhauled GU gameplay.

Con: the Exp. Share. There really should be an option to turn this thing off. I've managed to avoid breaking the game so far, I'm levelled pretty accurately for the gym I'm up to, and fwiw I think they've balanced it out really well where the lower levelled Pokemon always gets the lion's share of the XP. But it is extremely easy to overlevel, especially if you take the GU stuff into account. You can spend hours down there fighting wild Pokemon, and all that XP adds up.

The way I've gotten around that is by having a GU team and a regular team. Or, barring that, running from every wild Pokemon encounter you can. On the main map, the world is your oyster - but underground, it is very easy to overlevel your team.

Another con I've noticed is that trainer types recycle animations from other trainer types. Ranchers use the Hiker losing animation, the myriad of young men trainers use the same headrub animation etc. It's a nitpick, but it does seem a little lazy, especially after the cartridge shipped with like 80% of the final game on it y'know. Stuff like this is what pulls me out of the game and gets me to remember that this game was made by a mobile game company.

With that being said, I'm genuinely having a great time right now. This is my team at the moment:

I'm critical, but I wouldn't be talking about the game if I wasn't invested in it. Like I wish the clothes system wasn't this tacked-on afterthought where you buy an entire outfit for a lump sum, but at the same time I love battling Pokemon and I like the Grand Underground and stuff. I'm critical, but I'm having a lot of fun.

did they come from a religious family/culture? 

not really? in regards to religion, their parents did that “go to church on specific holidays” but nothing more than that. they were very family-oriented, though, so mikah spent an ungodly amount of time at different relative’s houses—some religious, some not—and it was more those relative that tried to get them ( and their parents ) more involved in religion. it never worked well though ( and when mikah started acting like a gd menace, it absolutely didn’t work )

what motivates them? is it a deep rooted passion/motivation, or is it something they struggle with from time to time? 

mikah is a naturally determined person so they find it easy to stay motivated more oft than not. what keeps them going is… people that don’t like them, if i’m being quite honest. it stems from them being spiteful and needing to retaliate in some fashion. they have no shortage of individuals dislike or hate them for one reason or another and so, they use this knowledge to fuel the ever-burning fire under their ass. if someone wants them dead, too bad. if someone wants them to fuck off, so sad. if someone wants to underestimate them, i’ll pray for you. mikah thrives on existing when people wish they really wouldn’t and they wouldn’t dare lose motivation for whatever they’re doing while people are still pouring energy into hating them and wishing ill will on them. the more you ( or anyone else for that matter ) don’t like them, the more of a reason they have to exist. 

do they have any places they want to go before they die? for what reasons do they want to go there? 

mikah, the silly thing that they are, would most likely want to visit the various mountain regions across the globe before they die for good. they wanna hike in each of these regions too ( because what’s the point of going if you don’t hike ). they’ve been cooped up in cities for most of their life out of necessity so they’d like to get away from all that for a while and kinda just… chill out.

I was surprised to hear this would be in the line-up tonight as Exilé is one of those bottlings that is as often out-of-stock as it is in-stock. A popular Pét-Nat (Pétillant Naturel), this is very dry with strawberry and meyer lemon notes. Not as "natty" as some Pét-Nats... clean and crisp, like many of the wines that hail from the Loire. Lise and Bertrand believe in "living soils" with high microbial activity, a "living" vine, and a balanced life between plants and animals. There is zero use of herbicides or pesticides across the 25 parcels ranging in age from 30-130 years for the oldest vines. Drink it ice cold on a hot day on it's own or with a light lunch of mezze. I'd suggest grabbing a couple bottles, as one usually isn't enough of this stuff. Get it while you can. $24

I want to take the opportunity to express my thanks to all of you for following this year’s edition of the Unofficial 31 Days of Dead and for all of the messages and kind words that you have sent me. It was a fun ride and we covered a lot of ground. Here are some quick stats:
