Rotating Taagnus ethersea au and i guess since elves don’t really exist in ethersea Taako would be a human… (I’d still give him the ears tho if Devo gets halfelf ears it’s only fair)
I’m just trying to think how old I want him to be. I guess the question is whether I’m thinking IPRE ages or BoB ages, like if Mags is 20 or 32. Cuz if he’s 20 Taako’s a couple years older. But if he’s 32 they’re around the same age

“The Dragon Republic” by Rebbeca F. Kuang
The second book of “The Poppy War” trilogy. My favourite lecture of the last year. Amazing read, you breathe the pages. Tens, hundreds of sentences just flow, painting an amazing world in your head. It’s a very comfortable lecture for practicing fast reading techniques.   I fell in love with the first book, and the second one wasn’t worse. No second book syndrome. I would totally read it again.   The first book focused a lot on academic suffer, determination, restless working towards a better future... to which I felt like I should strive towards. I wanted to be like her. It was easy to relate to her in her suffering!   “The Dragon Republic”’s subject was mostly, Rin being in pain and her battling a drug addiction as a shaman, and I found that annoying and uninteresting. For that reason, first 200-300 pages of the second book made me very bored.. I skipped pages a lot. The rest of the book was wonderful. Intriguing plot twists, cool characters, nice soft magic building. No prisoners taken. You shouldn’t get attached to any character, they might die in the next page. It’s a very violent book too, so I experienced satisfaction and great katharsis when a person got what they deserved in a very brutal way. I enjyoed it a lot, as previously :)  Tbh I thought that the main character is, in some way, retarded, because her decisions were in many cases irresponsible, and impulsive, which made me annoyed. It was reasonable, when the decisions she made were addiction driven.   Another thing that dissapointed me was, when they took cold stones out of the river, put them in fire and created a sauna. It doesn’t work like that. The stones would explode because of the water particles boiling inside of the stone. I felt very dissapointed after discovering that such thing was ignored! It’s a 100% death situation in real life!!    It was rather a mindless read. Nothing deep, just a pleasurable set of visions. If I had to force something out, what it made me think about is : pain (and what makes us tolerate it better. Mental or physical.), will, differences between priveleges in economic classes, expectations, the reality for civils in war, fear, death, presence (when they had an out of body experience, I felt so magical, being remembered that the feeling of having a body is nearly a sacred gift. It made me miss nature and spirituality. I felt happy to be reminded that these things are important. I remembered that I used to feel that freshness.)  Love it.

o1. With which one of your friends do you spend the most time? With which friend do you spend the least amount of time? Would you like to change this in any way? I don’t really get to...spend time with my friends, in that sense. For very obvious reasons. But I talk to Angela and Reena the most. Andi and I talk a lot too, but not everyday.
Among my friends, I probably talk to my college group the least these days, but that’s mostly because 2/3 of them are pursuing law school, and the 1/3 have jobs and are as busy as I am. We’re still as tight as ever and our group chat becomes active at least once a week.
o2. What four states in the USA would you most like to visit? Which four countries would you most like to visit? States: Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Utah. Countries: Malta, Switzerland, Thailand, South Korea.
o3. If you have one, how often do you watch your favorite television show? How long has this show been your favorite? I’m not a big TV person, tbh. The closest thing to my favorite would be Friends, which I rewatch at least one episode of once a month though I used to watch it FAR more often than that, hahaha. I think I first hooked to it...I wanna say 2018?Or 2019. Sometime in between those years. o4. Would it bother you if your boyfriend hugged other females (think hypothetically if you don’t have one)? Why or why not? No. He’s allowed to have girl friends. The only reason it bothered me when it was Gabie was because we were both aware that her guy friends were genuinely into her. I never channeled my annoyance towards her though; I was definitely more pissed off at those guys for not learning how to back off when needed.
o5. If you had snow-days as a kid, how did you spend them? Do you like the snow, in general? We don’t have snow, but our equivalent would be days off school because of a typhoon. Anyway, I just spent them lounging around and mostly watching stuff on YouTube. In college I was a bit more diligent and would use the extra time to catch up on readings.
o6. Do you know anyone who does hard drugs? Would you ever befriend someone that did? Not that I am aware of. I probably wouldn’t befriend someone who did if we weren’t already close, because there’s no telling what kind of influence they would be on me.
o7. When was the last time that you were afraid for your life? Did this incident change you in any way? When I was really sick back in May. Not really, I just wanted to recover as quickly as possible.
o8. Do you enjoy taking pictures? Is it just for fun, or do you make an attempt at actual photography? I didn’t then, but it’s something I’m trying to do more often now. I’ve realized I have very few souvenirs from the last few years because I barely took photos then, so it sucks not being able to revisit memories and ending up forgetting others completely. I definitely don’t plan to take it so far as taking photography lessons; taking pictures from my own perspective and in my own style suffices.
o9. Have you ever had low self-esteem? How is your self-esteem now? Yeah, sure. I had a recent phase of it because of the breakup, but I’ve recovered from it. My self-esteem is a lot healthier and more stable these days.
o1o. When you see someone sickly-thin, what is your first thought? Nothing for the most part, but I would obviously be concerned if that person was starting to show worrying signs of malnutrition. Idrk what you mean by sickly-thin.
o11. Do hospitals make you nervous? Why or why not? Do you have any bad hospital experiences? Not really, only because I’ve rarely had to go there.
o12. What did you dress up as the last time you went Trick-or-Treating? Who went with you? I went as Sofie, my old best friend from high school.
o13. What is one thing you miss most from your childhood? What do you miss the least? The part about having less responsibilities and more time to just have fun and do whatever I want. But I didn’t really have a picture-perfect childhood either, so my list of things I don’t miss for sure trumps the list of stuff I do miss.
o14. What would be the biggest challenge involved in raising a child at your age? How to send them to a good school because I don’t make nearly enough to afford tuition for another person.
o15. If you happened to get pregnant before you were ready for children, how would you cope? Do you think your parents would support you and help you out? I don’t know, honestly; and the thought kind of scares me. I know my parents wouldn’t provide support whatsoever, so I’d have to claw my way to find it from other people who would be willing. I’d probably need to take an extra job to earn enough money to support us both.
o16. Have you ever had unprotected sex? What would you tell a young teen thinking about having unprotected sex? Yeah, but I was also with a girl, so...idk. I don’t have a lot of sexual experience either so I dunno what sort of advice to tell a teen other than ‘don’t do it,’ lmao.
o17. What are some gender double-standards anger you? All of them. < Yes.
o18. Other than the usual qualities (honesty, respect, etc), what are some attributes you want your BF/GF to possess? Patience in the sense that I tend to be sensitive, so if they crack a joke that I ended up getting hurt or offended by, or if I get triggered by something minor that would otherwise be normal for anyone else, I hope they are patient enough to ride the wave out with me. I didn’t experience that with my past partner, and was often told to just stop being sensitive.
o19. Do you still talk to the first person you ever dated? If not, would you want to? Why or why not? No, because doing so is detrimental to my well-being.
o2o. Five years ago, what was the most important thing in your life? How about the most important person? My relationship, barf. Gabie, another barf.
21. How would you describe your sexuality? Have you ever wondered whether or not you might be homo/bisexual? I’ve stopped caring about it. I say asexual to people just so I have an answer to say.
o22. Do you think that homosexual couples should be able to raise or adopt children? Why or why not? Yeah...because I don’t see why they can’t be granted that right?
o23. Think of your worst fear. What would you do if you were confronted with it right now? Hyperventilate.
o24. If you were to become a vegetarian, what meat-product would you miss the most? Have you ever been or wanted to be a vegetarian? Chicken wings or sandwiches. I’ve thought about it before, yes. It’s too expensive a lifestyle where I live, though.
o25. Do you think that someone’s sexuality is something that they can control? No.
o26. What do you like most about your favorite animal? They’re very friendly and always down to play. :)
o27. What is your favorite way to eat your favorite food? How often do you eat your favorite food item? Eating burgers by hand is always the best. I have one maybe once a month.
o28. What is something you are craving? Will this craving be satisfied? KFC’S DOUBLE DOWN. I’ll get one next week, when I get my next pay lol. The rest of my budget this week is already allotted for my mom’s birthday/JK’s belated birthday dinner tomorrow.
o29. What is the largest number of texts you have sent in a day? Do you often text this much? Ooooh, I dunno. Maybe around 200-300 in a day? My ex and I primarily communicated through text whenever we weren’t physically together, which was often as we were both students in different schools.
o3o. Do you like the holiday season? Why or why not? What could be better about it? Some parts of it I like, some parts of it I don’t. The latter mostly stems from insecurities I will feel from seeing other families on social media, who always seem to be having a better and fancier time than I am. It’s why I usually deactivate during Christmas so I don’t get to see posts that can affect my disposition.

Generations...
Note: A lot of this is my own personal ideas, head canon and guesses. You're more than welcome to take and use some of it!
A lot of us toss out the fact that we know ninety percent of the Quel'dorei population was killed by the scourge, but what effects does that have on a person, a smaller community, not just the nation as a whole. It's something I've wondered ever since I made Tristanis.
Tumblr media
The age old question
You have to start with age first. A lot of sources, the RPG in particular, say that Quel/Sin'dorei hit adulthood at 60-100 years. One one hand can you imagine the "Terrible Twos" lasting for years, maybe even half a decade?
Being an adult is more than just physical maturity. We know that their lifespans can reach several thousand years. How does that affect how you look at maturity, and even time itself when a decade or three following some pursuit can look like a summer vacation laying around.
This is how I've always approached elven aging. Birth to 40 is physical growth roughly analogous to birth to 18 in human terms. At 20 they start puberty (roughly 13 Human years) and at 40 they are physically pushing into being a young adult. Once that threshold is passed aging becomes a slow process. Forty to death physical aging just seems to stop from a human perspective but slowly crawls on as they live out millennia of life.
So what about that range from 40 to 70-100? They are physically mature but not an adult in their culture. It's the "freshman in college" years. Decades of hard study or training for some, traveling for others. The time when some find themselves and try out new ideas and experiment with who and what they will become. A time for them to question who they are before they set down the paths of their life.
"There taking the summer off to find themselves." or "They are spending the year traveling the country" suddenly becomes "Oh, they are just spending the next three decades under a master craftsperson." Time takes on a whole new meaning when you look at a decade as your summer off. Conversely, an elf would not look at months of study and even consider that scratching the surface of a subject.
But within that range between being physically mature and considered an adult you have the pressures of elven culture to be superior, but not the expectation to be fully capable. But that is a society view, not an individual view. A specific master would push their students to be perfect at every turn. Even knowing that they will not be. Practicing over and over, year after year until perfection was a habit. After all, what's another decade consumed by a young elf.
Tumblr media
The Lost Generation
The Scourge changed all that.
Think of a stadium filled with 50,000 Sin'dorei. Suddenly only 5000 remain barely able to fill one section. A good 500 of the remaining of the strongest left to follow the prince, with only a few fraction of that returning. If you're lucky you're in a set that has your friends still near it. If not, the nearest elf could be dozens of seats away. It wasn't life that was lost but culture too.
Let's look at a real world example. Roman Concrete. Developed and known by artisans of the empire. Somewhere around 200-300 the knowledge was mostly lost. Not completely, but it took centuries to understand why it was as effective as it was. Trade secrets, and competition helped to push that knowledge away and be lost as the western empire fell. What would happen if 90% of teachers, doctors, scientists, researchers, builders, construction builders, baristas, students, politicians, administrators,... (and so on) were gone after an invasion. How much knowledge held close to the chest by jealous rivals would be gone forever? How many stonemason techniques that had only been half learned would become the norm? How many teachers, now forced to be experts in their fields when they were not fully understanding all they needed to grasp.
Imagine being a student, and having to go to teacher to teacher. Teachers who were overwhelmed with limited resources and had to pick and choose who they would teach. Elven culture would color their choices. They would choose the best and the brightest in their mind. Ones that could learn the best from them. They could only teach so many and there would be so many that would fall to the wayside. Untapped potential pushed back by both limited teachers, and elven ways of viewing things.
Entire trades would be obliterated as the knowledge to effectively run them would have been lost. Higher ranking socialites having to 'lower' themselves to doing menial tasks because there was simply no one else to do them. A lord who had never cooked in their life having to learn to manage a house. Others having to make the very real decisions of continuing to battle for the Horde, or having a family. Having children would be a civic responsibility. Young ones who's entire lineage was eradicated, taken into houses where they had no place or purpose.
The soul of the people may be strong, but the culture would be hard pressed to survive. It would weigh hard on those that have no remembrance of that culture. Those that were viewed as children, yet grown. Thrust into places they were not ready to stan, but forced to.
Tumblr media
Diverging paths
Imagine you're in that idealistic generation. Mature, but not yet fully adult. The only thing you know your whole life is that there's been war always at the edges of things. Your uncle lost to the invading monsters in the first war. Heard stories of ships limping back to Sunsail Anchorage in the second. Then your friends and family. Everything that made you, you to the scourge. You're still alive, but in a world where you try to learn and get turned down at every chance. You are called Lord but you're not part of that society. You hear calls to "Remember the sunwell." But you never even made a pilgrimage to it before it was corrupted and reclaimed.
You're told to act more like an elf, but all you've seen is people clamoring over the remains of what was left. You don't remember what it was like in the glory days as you were not even born yet, or too young to have memories of it. You read of heroics others lived in the past, but look up to see broken remnants just left over. Older elves balk at the way you act and dress or carry yourself, but you have never known how to act any different. You have friends that accept you, Goblins, Trolls, Tauren. Yet elders would be mystified as to why you would even consider them equals.
Like many your age, that idealism needs to have something to grab on to. Is it the horde and its ways? Do you begin to resent Silvermoon and all it stood for as you gravitate further into a culture of mixed beliefs.  Does a faction within your own people call to you? A faction that might not be eye to eye with those in power now, but that drive to be part of something drives you headlong into it. Do you look at the death and see that things are at an end? Looking to other outlets and other ways of power since you are ignored. The void won't ignore you. That idealism sending you in many ways further from what it was to be Sin'Dorei to what you believe it should be. A unified culture, fracturing.
The scar is not just a tear through Quel'thalas. It's a tear into the soul of every one of her people.
Growing young ones, not ready to be adults, forced into stations they needed to fill.
What does it mean to be Sin'dorei when you do not know how.

10 PROS & CONS OF MASSAGE GUNS FOR RUNNERS
Tumblr media
People that are always trying to find the very best & best method to call home through hard races and workouts. And who could blame individuals? The capacity to recuperate quickly means athletes may endure education hard, which theoretically, means advancement to getting a quicker, stronger runner. Of course, each time a fresh restoration technique or even product reaches the endurance community, then it is inclined to show viral. Compression socks. CBD oil. Epsom salt tub. Percussion / vibration massage firearms are no exception for the principle.
In reality, as I write this article, every advertisement that this is appearing within my own interpersonal networking packs is to get an alternative new rub gun down. Apparently everybody is expecting on the bandwagon, from quite long recognized restoration application brands, to businesses you may possibly have definitely never been aware about. Thus, what's the offer with percussion / Percussion Massager firearms? Achieve they actually get the job done? Let us dig deeper.
A massage is actually a handheld resource which massages muscles by supplying rapid bursts of force at concentrated, short-duration stimulation. Think about a mini-jackhammer, especially parts of your muscles.
The notion is the fact that the movement and impact, frequently called shaking treatment, helps loosen tight and sore muscle, very similar to that of a massage, in addition to stimulate the flow of blood to aid one to increase healing.
The massage firearms are an average of battery powered, also have various rate settings to change the intensity out of the massage. The majority of those massage firearms arrive with interchangeable minds to concentrate on different muscle tissues and portions of the human body.
Let us first discuss the advantages of these massage programs for runners.
Decreased DOMS
For anyone not familiar with the definition of, DOMS is the tender, tight experience which pops anywhere from 24-28 hrs after a powerful work outside or race. It's brought on by microscopic tears which ofcourse occur in muscle fibers throughout exercise. DOMS isn't simply embarrassing, however it might interfere with future work outs by leaving you sense too sore to work out, or inhibiting movement routines as a result of aggravation.
Plus one as straightforward as changing your running gait as your hamstrings are tender may lead to additional injury else where.
Essentially, the shaking therapy will help in avoiding mechanical overload of their muscular fibers, leading to less of one's above microscopic tears that the muscle.
Higher Efficiency Exactly the Exact Same above research shows that utilization of percussion and/or vibration treatment before exercise might assist:
Decrease tissue adhesion, thus increasing array of flexibility Reduction accumulation of lactic acid in the bloodstream, so decrease time before fatigue May offer an earlier decrease in pain (origin ). Each one these things can subscribe to increased functioning performance.
Greater Blood Circulation = Faster Recovery When used article exercise, percussion massage-therapy firearms might help temporarily increase the flow of blood into the muscle. Heightened blood circulation helps hasten the healing process by helping remove waste product in tissue that is damaged. What's more, the specific blood provides oxygen and nutrients into the muscular mass, and also help stimulate regrowth and recovery of their tissue.
Pain Alleviation Let us imagine you worked outside or dashed hard, and no matter of one's absolute best preventive measures, you still have muscles that are super sore. Massage. In other words, percussion massage firearms feel-good about sore muscles.
However, what does this mean?
According to the theory, sensory nerves carrying vexation sense and sensory nerves carrying vibratory sensation both transmit signals towards precisely the exact afferent neurons, which then sends data to a mind. The nerves triggered by vibratory feeling impair the afferent pain nerves, hence barring or preventing the material delivered by the nerves who felt pain. To put it differently the shaking by the percussion caress rifle may shut the nerve pathways into painful inputsignal, preventing pain sensation in traveling into the leading nervous system.
Give More Anxiety than Massage therapies I have no idea about you, but I am definitely the most intense at using self indulgent programs such as"the rod" and sometimes perhaps polyurethane rollers. Why? Because I can't physically use the tension needed, or I am at precisely the exact same time frame chicken to take to (as it strikes ). The battery life run, mechanical percussion/vibration massage firearms, but do not return. They have the seriousness that my muscles that are sore desire once I can not...or will not...take action .
Which would be the Disadvantages of Knead Guns? Here Is What you Want to're aware of the drawback of those recovery tools:
User Error Have you some idea what it is you're doing? Are you currently trained in the science in addition to implementation of massage? Chances are the answer will be extremely little (it's okay, the majority folks are not ). And consequently, often there is a chance you may wind up utilizing the massage gun erroneously. Or, you may possibly well be massaging a region that's experiencing known pain, also maybe not targeting the location which really needs help with healing.
I reached to someone Who's trained in massageand she consented up on." It (the massage weapon ) is a instrument, so it is just like the consumer " Says accredited massage remedies therapist Michele Zeberlein. "Should you understand just what direction to go and manners, then it's really a fantastic tool. However, in addition, it can cause further problems is employed in the incorrect way. "
It's required to learn the safety instructions which include your percussion massage handgun. So if in doubt in the event that you're targeting the suitable area for helping any pain you're having, make reference to your doctor or maybe massage therapist.
Stroke firearms utilized on harms such as stress, sprains, broken bones, and sometimes extreme swelling may potentially cause your injury more powerful. They are able to further hurt the wounded tissue, and sometimes even fortify swelling speed. This is only going to delay healing period, and might cause further annoyance.
Hypertension (elevated blood pressure) Rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis, arthritis, or fibromyalgia Varicose veins
Muscular dystrophy or alternative muscular ailments As always, reevaluate to a medical doctor when you have questions regarding respect to massage gun usage and some other injuries, chronic complications, or other health conditions such as pregnancy.
Bulky / Enormous / Noisy While maybe not true for each and every percussion massage weapon, more than a few of these are able to be bulky or heavy. The very first time that I implemented one, I had been astonished by just how much sexier it had been anticipated (today, do not misunderstand me, an average of the ExoGun DreamPro we have is 2. 5 weight. Still, I did not expect the burden ). It primarily is logical, nevertheless, since the battery has to be large enough presenting capacity to the engine which goes pretty fast.
Rely to a Solar-battery While virtually all the massage firearms available on the industry at this time chance to be corded, they still have a battery that has to be charged. Different from a normal foam roller or hand-held tool which could possibly be human-powered, a massage weapon wont work without becoming an energy resource.
Therefore, if you should be carrying your knead rifle into a lengthier event -- state an ultra marathon or stage race, then you have to become conscious of battery lifetime.
Bundle cost This is huge. I have seen percussion massage prints vary between $49. 9-5 completely as much as $1, 200. Sure, you read that right -- a dozen hundred cash to get its small edition, goldplated, G3PRO Theragun. Many folks us seem to put at the 100 -$300 range. All these are certainly the investment, and maybe not really a cheap tool such as a roller coaster.
You may be wondering exactly what these acronyms mean -- and also why that they matter. Thus, allow me to help.
Stroke Length: that can be called amplitude. To spell out, just how far does the mind of this massage gun travel. Or simply, how heavy can it move in your own muscle. Percussion exact firearms will routinely have a increased stroke span than guys designed to concentrate on vibration.
To put it differently, what number"percussions" (sometimes the mind of this massage gun will likely reach on your muscle) each and every minute.
Stall Force: how the burden it's possible to apply on the apparatus before it dries and ceases changing. To put it differently, just how much pressure could YOU placed on the rifle before motor ceases proceeding.
Other items to think about: Additional variables to take into account are now actually going to boil down to personal taste. Consider precisely what you want (and desire ) out of a massage weapon ). Those variables might be:
Battery life or interchangeable battery packs Weight Develop (could it be easy to put up? Would you reach specific sections, such as the back or shoulders? ) Noise place Attachment heads
Therefore...Can I Want a Massage Gun Only for Running Retrieval? The thousand dollar question -- will probably soon be these massage firearms worth every penny?
Maybe.
The boundless marketing effort in my face book feed directly now may possibly be attempting to embarrass me these would be the best things since sliced bakery. But massage firearms are merely an instrument. They'll in no way completely block or solve sore tissues, and they'll never guarantee decreased healing period.
While there's loads of researching pointing into the efficacy of percussion and shaking healing for muscle soreness and healing period, there's also viable research that says differently.
My thoughts: In case you should be excited about purchasing a massage first use one from the pal or with a massage therapist. See whether you take pleasure in the stroke, also notice some other positive aspects.
After that, browse reviews.
You are able to acquire hundreds of brands of massage firearms available on the industry at the moment. Ordinarily the greater price label does not necessarily relate to some fantastic nutritional supplement. Conversely, a relatively inexpensive massage rifle does not suggest it's crap.
And finally, be sure to actually enjoy the massage gun. Many folks will likely delight in the impression of percussion and shaking massage rifles, while some could see them anything but relaxing. Of course in the event that you are not going to make use of a restoration tool or procedure as you can not endure it (such as me personally along with ice bathrooms ) so of course it wont be quite good in any way.

I’ve read someone’s headcanon for elf ages and I was thinking; considering elves live forever because of magic, not as something that is biologically inherent to them, it makes sense their growth wouldn’t be too different from human standard until they reached a certain age in which physical changes begun slowing until they eventually stopped (not permanently, considering elves can grow old, it just takes several thousand years; maybe it doesn’t even stop completely, but is just so slow it’s nearly imperceptible for a long time). The main difference in regards to maturity and adulthood standards wouldn’t be growth itself, much less age, but also that those standards can change.
For example, idk, a 100 year old night elf wouldn’t have been considered an adult before the Sundering, and that isn’t illogical if you think that like, while they’ve definitely grown physically and mentally, their level of maturity might still be considered uh, really low by someone who lived forever, considering nelves were eternal asdkfnaksf At the same time, a 100 year old night elf in current canon, while still considered very young, would be much more likely to be considered an adult, since the world they grew up in definitely demanded more maturity of them than growing up in a world where their race reigned undisputed, and that nelves have extremely long lives but are no longer immortal.
Night Elves are probably closer to Trolls than Humans when it comes to comparison of how long does it take them to grow until adulthood, or even like, pregnancy length or for how long they’d be infants; considering they’ve evolved from Trolls, and that they’re still closer to them in terms of size. I personally headcanon that infancy wouldn’t be a long period (this might just be me finding excuses for why there are so few aka none nelf babies but uh), but pregnancy might be a few months longer than that of Humans considering babies would be bigger, and the period between teenage and adult (in the sense of physically mature more so than culturally acknowledged as adult) would also last considerably longer, so 20s is probably closer to be considered early teens than young adult. The Nightborne probably grow at the same rate the Night Elves do, considering there aren’t enormous discrepancies between them, but there might be a small divergence due to the isolation+exclusive magical source influence combo. I can never set on a determined age by which they’d likely be considered official adults, but it definitely is made official once they decide which path to pursue, considering this seems to be a very big deal. That said, Kaldorei markings are also indicative of maturity, considering women usually get them after a significant event --- which might come earlier or later than standard age for adulthood would be.
Meanwhile, the Blood Elves are considerably different of the other two, having changed not only the source of magic from which they draw their strength (and extremely long lives) but their very habits changing from nocturnal to diurnal, and whichever other adaptations occurred relative to the change in habitat. While they do not have a common ancestor, I think they’d be closer to Humans in terms of growth, something that does seem to be the case in canon, considering Valeera is like, in her 20s. The belves would probably still consider her very young, but for Blood Elf standards she wouldn’t be as young as to Night Elf standards, for example, so more late teens/young adult than early teens or actual adult, as Humans (in universe at least) would consider her to be. That would be more relative to maturity and wisdom than anything else; for elves who lived 200, 300 of years, a 20 year old probably does seem rather immature, because they haven’t lived long enough to have a comparable amount of experiences, not because they haven’t developed physically or mentally to our standards of what a 20 year old is. I think it would be a couple more decades over 20 until a belf would be considered a proper adult, though not too many tbh.
Dragons were made to be, if not eternal, close to it. They do age and seem to be able to die of old age, considering Tyranastrasz was described as very very old which was why he was getting weaker and would die even if Deathwing hadn’t killed him, though how soon would soon be if Grim Batol hadn’t made him sick is debatable, as soon for a Dragon could well mean a couple thousand years more. Wrathion is a wild exception in regards to dragon development; considering whelps are not aware of the outside world before they are born, and aren’t yet capable of things like talking (at least in languages that are not draconic) or magic, although they are capable of having a rather well developed understanding of the world around them, like Emmigosa indicates. Their time as whelps is probably one of the shortest phases in their lives, but it would be incredibly lengthy in comparison to mortals, probably (which also leads to distinctions like, a newborn whelp might look a lot like a year old whelp, but they are already in considerably different stages, even if physically they aren’t yet very different). I’d say it takes a couple of years (which is very short when you think of dragon’s standard life length), though not many; and that it is the transition from drake to adult dragon that goes slower. Even after they’re adults, dragons probably keep growing for a considerable amount of time.

Personal Request
//: Do, any of you guys have experience with Patreon?
I think it was last week/weekend I re-blogged a personal post of mine about setting one up, but I have to admit I’m a little lost @ - @;
I’m looking for any tips and such on how to best set it up... There’s an explanation of what I’m doing and why is below the cut (.   .  ); and I’m more than happy to explore any other suggestions on sites that may work better for what I’d like to do...
So, what I would like to do...Is create a Patreon to fund a book I’ve been trying to work on for the last couple of years. I’d like to treat it like a ‘web comic’ and try to release a chapter with some art work a month.
Obviously you can pay like idk $3 bucks a month for the basic chapter and a one time thank you note then like, $8 a month for the chapter + Art Work specific to that chapter... idk maybe make a 10$ one where you get chapter + art + creator content (sketches/notes/etc) and then make one that’s about 15$ for chapter + art + an exclusive art print + idk buttons? something physical..? or if you want the actual book you can make a one time payment of 30$ to reserve a hard/soft cover release of the book or you can get an Art book? (I’ll need to look into what it would cost to have hard copies made and how much soft cover vs hard cover would be so I have no idea how much that would actually be @ - @. It would also have to cover like, shipping which is idk, maybe four bucks..?) the Hard Copies would probably have to wait until I hit a certain amount of money per month, like a goal of at least 200-300$ ish? (ok, I did a quick google and lightning press has anywhere from $3 bucks to $10 bucks for paper and hard cover books...so I could potentially charge less for a hard copy...?)
Like, honestly I need direction on whats reasonable for pricing. Would I be charging to much or under charging? What are some things that I could look into to add to the packages to make them more interesting and worth while to people while not busting myself in the process..
Between work and off line life, I’ve literally only gotten as far as the first chapter... The rest of the book is kinda all over the place....in notes on scraps of paper that I jotted on at work, notes scattered in about three different notebooks, I have idk how many word docs on my phone/laptop that have information on them... doodles...omg I have STICKY NOTES FOR DAYS!!!
The First Thing I’d Like to Do: Is launch my Patreon before May so I can get a head of the changes there making to the accounts. ^ While I do this I can start to sift through my garbage and start organizing things... combining documents, pulling things off my phone, transcribing notes from paper to word...getting a preface written and a cover image of sorts figured out...(Honestly my ‘cover’ right now is a VERY BAD doodle of the two main characters on a scrap of paper smaller than my hand and my other photo is of Gizmo making a derp face (@_   @ ); ....)
I know it will take some time to get this on a go status as far as releasing content and such... not only that but I have like a hundred bucks to pay off on my phone yet before its mine and I can switch to pay as you go and I have a loan that I need to pay off.
So, in light of all of that...The next two months (April and May) I’ll be using most of my paychecks to pay these two things off. April is the last month we will need to pay rent and electricity for our old place (yes...we’ve been paying rent for two apartments since we moved out in November...its a long story...) then I can focus on saving some money in order for me to quit my job or drop to something part time closer to home...
I’m going to be 110% honest with everyone who reads this post: I’m drowning... mentally I am keeping things together with a used piece of wet tape, a broken rubber band and some Elmers glue... The last time my dad was over he literally chewed me out over how many different otc sleeping pills I had... I haven’t had an anxiety attack bad enough to send me to the ER since ninth grade and last year in March I had one that was brought on by work that corporate refuses to pay for and I haven't been the same since... I quit all of my prescribed medications cold turkey my sophomore year of high school because I was fed up and done with how they made me feel, with how many I had to take and the fact that the doctor just couldn’t F-ing Pick One to keep me on... I do not want to go back on pills...I will apply for disability before I put another pill in my mouth... (I Do Not want to go on Disability...there are people out there who need it so much more than me...).
Therefore, if I’m going to quite my full time job, I need something part time or a way to make this idea of mine into a reality because..I don’t want to be a bum...
So, Please and a Thousand Times Thank You for any and all help or resources you can point me to so I can start my journey on the road to being ok again~

Food concepts #1 - Vintage 1945 military ration
In the past few years, I have realised how important dining experiences actually are and how many of them have I not tried out yet - there's food trucks, fine dining, pre-prepared store bought meals, home cooking and many more. However, there also tend to be new trends emerging in the past few years. One of the more interesting ones are liquified meal replacements (Soylent, Mana) and MREs. I've find the former quite interesting, although I still object the whole idea of drinking a bottle of what tastes like mixed oats instead of eating food in its solid form. I guess it's the feeling of completeness and I am also pretty sure that body absorbs more macronutrients from eating actual solid food as opposed to drinking it.
Anyways, about two months ago, I started watching a youtube MRE channel called 'Steve1989MREInfo' - a guy from Florida who reviews and tastes both new (fresh) and old MREs. Now for those who don't know, MRE stands for 'meal ready to eat'; a self-contained and pre-packaged field ration primarily used by military troops. For the sake of clarity, I will use the term 'field ration' and 'MRE' interchangeably, although I understand the slight difference between the two. MRE's became kind of a phenomenon, especially on youtube where many youtubers, whatever their content is, haeve decided to try out an MRE and eat it on camera. I honestly enjoy watching these and I am glad to have found Steve and his videos, as he opens some very interesting rations (I have put his channel on the bottom of this post)
I have first ordered an old MRE, a Canadian Navy Survival Ration from 1945 and I certainly don't plan on ever eating it, not because I would be scared, but because I don't ever want to open the box and I plan on keeping it just for display. I've then decided to order an MRE that I can actually eat and ordered a US MRE, that I will write about later.
1945 Royal Canadian Navy survival ration

I have ordered this ration about a month ago for $50 from the US after watching most of Steve's youtube videos. I was fascinated by how well the food is preserved and that some of it is actually edible. What is however both amazing and quite depressive about this ration is that for many, it was probably the last meal.
Here are the contents (taken from CBC.CA):
Tumblr media
According to Steve, many returning soldiers described this ration as awful. I reckon that being hungry and only having milk tablets is enough of a reason for that. However, I find it awesome that W. Clark Ltd. and many other ration producers managed to fit such a large amount of calories into such a small box, while keeping the variety interesting. I unfortunately do not have the exact calorie count for the individual components (for some reason, they decided to not print it on the packagings) but my guess would be anything around 600 to 900 kcal. That in general doesn't sound as much; I for example could definitely not function on a day to day basis with just under 1000 kcal a day. It is, however, important to note that given it is a navy survival ration, it was probably designated to be eaten on a life raft, where you wouldn't burn as many calories as you would by walking/running or doing any other physical activity.
Also, the most common rule with these tiny survival rations was to not eat anything for the first 24 hours to give your stomach some time to shrink, which in return would make the soldier less hungry after eating the portion he himself has rationed. Now this is where it gets interesting and what I've wondered a lot about: how does one ration the portions without actually knowing when someone will actually arrive or pass by to rescue him. Well, given that I've established the calorie count to be around 600-900 kcal (I've tried to count calories of some existing similar tablets and biscuits, but it could of course be wrong), I can imagine surviving on as low as around 200-300 kcal a day, meaning that this could last me for 2-3 days. I understand that people can apparently survive without food for around 3 weeks but I also know that I wouldn't be able to resist eating at least a bit of it, knowing that it would make my time starving to death in the middle of the ocean way easier.
As stated earlier, I will most likely never open it for the sake of just displaying it, but I am happy someone on the internet did so (actually many people have opened it and eaten it on the youtube). Given that a yellow metal box got me excited this much, I can't wait to try an actual and fresh MRE soon.

Question About Car Insurance/Learner's Permit?
Okay, I am a 23 (soon to be 24) year old male, I have never had a license or a car, and just recently I received my permit through the DMV, I have not driven too many times on this permit, but I am about to purchase a used car from a friend of mine and get the title and everything I need transferred over to my name. I have yet to achieve my license and am still driving on my permit to get accustomed and comfortable behind the wheel before I take the driver's test with a worker at the DMV. My question is this tho, I live at home atm, and my family all has cars/car insurance. And I am not on any of their plans yet nor do I have my own coverage. I am new to this whole scene and such, and I wanted to know with me purchasing a used car from a friend with title and all and this car being in my name, seeing as I am not a licensed vehicle owner yet, and only have my permit, I cannot as far as I know apply for insurance until I achieve my license, so I wanted to ask will my family simply be able to add me/my car to their plan until I get my license? Or how will this work? As I stated I am totally new, but when its done I will have a paid for in full car (my first) all the titles and information transferred to me in my name, and the only thing I am missing is insurance and I am wondering how this will work seeing as I am over 21, have a permit and have my own car? My family drive on State Farm in IL. Any help on clearing up this matter will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance =).""

Well, because the assumption is that you have been driving here in the US as an uninsured motorist for the past seven years . Has anyone used e-suarance for a car insurance quote. I called them a few hours ago & they gave me a good...?
quote but they Hadn't run my driving record yet. And they said they can use ur credit report but, Otha than seeing if u hav paid ur car insurance/bills on tym I Don't see Why they need That info, otha car insurance companies I called Didn't want to check my credit history & Every check on ur credit report can make ur credit score lower & my credit's not that gud rite now tho I pay my utilities, rent, my current credit card & my cell bill on tym & my auto insurance in the past was always paid on tym. (I haven't had car insurance for 3 1/2 yrs cuz I haven't had a car.) Also, they were telling me if I call back the quote mite not stay the same cuz I was tryin 2 get the quote number & No Other insurance companies said that, the otha 1's gave me a quote # so I can deal wit the quote later if I decided 2 go wit them. E-suarance (was tryin 2 get me 2 put a down payment down today & then the insurance would kick in automatically but I told them I want to pay for 6 months at once & I don't hav the money now cuz I hav 2 deposit it in the bank tomorrow, it's a postal money order & will clear Tues. & I Don't Need the insurance 'til Tues. &, then I'll need proof of insurance Tues. to take 2 the DMV wit the papers from the dealer 2 register the car & get the license plates. E-saurance said they could send an e-mail upon payment that I could use 2 show proof of insurance at the DMV or if I Can't print that out I could download their app & show them my proof of insurance thru their app. But that sounded fishy 2 me. Also the guy on the phone from e-suarance wanted a credit card # 2 run my driving record but I was like None of the Otha car insurance companies needed that 2 run my driving record. I Don't want 2 get charged for them 2 run my driving record or 4 any Otha charges. Which is making me suspicious now of the low rate or of paying by credit card ova the fone wit them. Since they're backed by Allstate can I go 2 an Allstate office 2 pay cash & get proof of insurance?""

How can I stop them from doing this and is there a way I can turn him in to learn his lesson? If he gets in an accident or gets caught for this, who will have to pay for this? Me or him and his granmother? I do not want to be responsible for his ignorant behavior""
Would insurance on a corvette be too expensive for someone 19 years old?
I am 17 now, but in a couple years I will have enough money to buy an older corvette. I am looking at either a C5 corvette (97-04) or a C3 corvette (68-82). I am leaning more toward the C5 but since it's a newer car, I would think the insurance would be more expensive, even though the car might only cost 12 grand. The C3 would be cheaper in price, and i heard insurance is really cheap for classic cars too. So, in your opinion what do you think?""
Vehicle with no insurance MINNESOTA?
My girlfriend got pulled over tonight after having a brand new car for two days after selling her first car she drove for two and a half years, her mother apparently told her that she had 7 days to get insurance so sure enough we got cited for no insurance. I guess I was curious to know if liability covers her driving a vehicle without insurance? It probably doesn't but I know there is a form of insurance that does. If this is going to slide downhill I would also like to know some advice you have to word it nicely to a judge to help avoid a 30 day license suspension. I heard earlier tonight that in mn it's mandatory but I'm hoping not. Thanks for your help and time!""
Just wondering if there is any kind of insurance coverage for the victims of the tsunami?

My fiance has type 1 diabetes. He gets food stamps, but doesn't qualify for SSI for some reason. He's only 26. I am the only one working, getting minimum wage, and little hours. We can't afford to pay a doctor $100 just for them to tell him he has what he knows what he has, and to get a prescription that cost twice that. It just seems like a vicious cycle we cant get out of.""
Switching insurance companies to get the car fixed?
The accident was not at my fault. Had a police report. Contacted both insurance companies. Got a rental car and check ($1500) from other party's insurance company (NJ Skylands) as decided to go through them. Brought the car to body shop and found out NJ Skylands wants to cheat and pay less. So I called my insurance company (State Farm) and reopened the claim to go through them. State Farm took deductible and issued a check for $1788. Body shop wants to get $2788 for repair. Can I still use that check for $1500 to cover the rest of expanses?
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS (CAR INSURANCE)?
i'm a learner driver with my 1st car that im covering with 3rd party fire & theft since i'm not able to go out alone either my partner or dad will be with me while i drive but just say say for whatever reason they had to take over would they be covered to drive my car even though neither would be a named driver on my policy? They both have fully comp insurance for their own cars does this cover them?
Will I be able to get health insurance to cover this?
I am about to graduate from college and have not been covered by insurance regularly in many years, for a short time I was on a California county-supported low-income type of insurance program but it automatically runs out every few months if you don't reapply evidently... Anyways, I'm about to graduate and move back to Oregon. I have some kind of hip/tendon injury that I need to go to the doctor for and have checked out...but because I don't have insurance, and this is an old injury already, is there any way I'm going to find health insurance to help me pay for this? Or am I just completely screwed and destined to limp around for the rest of my life??? because there's no forseeable way that I'll be able to afford my own health care any time soon, I'll be paying off my student loans for the next few years. I also doubt that I will be able to find a job that offers health coverage in my field so that's not looking very likely either.""

Buying insurance right after an accident?
Just a question, and I don't want assumptions that I'm the person in the scenario because I'm not and this has just been a burning question of mine for a long time. Ok, so someone gets into an accident and buys insurance right after. The thing is that the insurance papers will have the DATE it took effect, not the TIME it took effect. So in all respects, it was active on the day the accident happened and the person in question has to go to court to provide proof of insurance, in which the judge will see that it took effect on the day the accident happened, so the question remains, is this person covered?""

Affordable car insurance for poor driving record?
About a year ago when I was in college I got cited for driving without insurance twice. Two years ago I have had my license suspended for minor traffic offenses. Recently, I decided to take a safe driver's course because when I originally started driving nobody ever taught me how. I am not required to have sr-22 insurance but I am wondering if that would be better than paying $450 which I am paying for Gieco. I am looking for someone in a SIMILAR situation or has USEFUL answers. If your answer is move to different state , you just have to deal with it , or shop around that doesn't help me.""

Car Insurance for Young Driver (UK)?
Hi, I'll get straight to the point, I'm 17 almost 18 and am looking 2 buy my 1st car. I live a upper class life, and when it comes down to cars i do get to travel in in style. e.g. my dad drives a Jaguar S-Type, my mother a brand new 2008 Land Rover Freeland, and i do know people with Bentley's and this one guy i know will take me out for a drive in his Aston Martin Vanquish. I do like to stick out from a crowd and this is a amazing opportunity to do so at college. My 1st car is definitely goin on my dads policy, and by then i will have my full license. I have seen Jaguar XJ's for sale which i can afford, but my greatest question is how much would the insurance be. If someone who is a young driver who drives a Jaguar or something similer could give me a rough guess to how much insurance wud be?, i wud be greatfull or someone who has insured a young driver on there Jaguar?.""

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

EDIT
Hello again!
This week, again, was a weirdly slow one. I picked up crocheting during election night so I had something to fidget with during the meltdown, and I haven’t really put it down since! I’ve got lots to do, but it’s cold and there are hats to be made! (classic procrastination excuse…)
Anyway, on Thursday I was able to meet up with Edward and Sean Arden in the MOCAP studio to talk about VR. They were both super helpful and very open to helping me out. I told them my idea, and they were totally for it! I asked about the possibility of having real-world props interact with VR props, and Sean said he had been working on something very similar that they are calling “proptics” or motion tracked objects, so I think that I won’t be too hard-pressed to make this weird world work. I just have to get working on it! There’s so much back and forth now in the world of COVID, it’s taken about 4-5 emails since Thursday just to arrange the pickup of a VR set to rent out from the IxD lab and I’m still not sure when I show up on Thursday that it will be available to take out.. haha fingers crossed!
Tumblr media
One thing I’ve noticed in researching and looking into VR applications is how a lot of the efforts in progressing VR is made towards shooter games, but the most exciting work comes out of visual and performance art. I remember an early VR work I saw by Laurie Anderson, the Chalkroom. I revisited this work this week and was surprised that there are some similarities between that work and mine. Although hers is less involved physically, there is still a participant entering a room that is similar to the room inside the VR world.

After Sean told me about proptics, I looked them up and found Maria Lantin, who I’ve reached out to for a chat. I also came across this article about a VR experience that imagines Toronto after reconciliation and when nature takes over. The artist, Lisa Jackson, said something that I made me say “yeeeeeeesssssssssss I love this” (I think I’ll send her an email too, why not!)
“Being able to create new worlds within the immersive environment of VR is one of the most exciting pieces for me,” she says. “And I think for Indigenous folks, the world-views—whether or not we’ve been raised with the language—are so different from mainstream culture. [Using VR] is an opportunity to put people within a different world, and have them express the view and cultures of Indigenous people…It’s a great way to create a sense of place, and when you think that for Indigenous folks, culturally, place is so central to how territory relates to identity, I hope that it will spark more people to explore that medium and those connections.”
I think worlding is something that should be built up, something that creeps into your understanding like heat to the poor waterpot frog. This visual and physical connection of the room (before VR is put on), in real life, is one of those connective threads inside our minds that help us situate ourselves or suspend disbelief. Stories are another way of doing this. Can my workshop in storytelling to non-humans be the first step before the room? Each step of worlding increasing in concentration, until you reach the VR level of a pure fantasy world that, because of a graduated introduction, is not so much of an unrealistic fantasy after all? I wonder, always, about design vs art. Perhaps a comedown, a graduated ladder back to reality is where design can step in as a guide in how to turn this experience from an interactive art work to an actionable design work? This is where, I feel, the value of my project lies – these connections. Gentle but continuous waves of thoughtful approaches lapping on the beach, changing our cultural tide…. (high hopesssss high hopesss…. )
Talking about high hopes, again the scope of my project, I have to give myself some props for the work I’m doing, even if I feel slightly stagnant. I’m one person with many other due dates, and I think the extent to which this project COULD be, my magnum opus (hah) could only happen with a team of people – or a few more years of learning. I think I can definitely make the skeleton of it though – the stories and connections, as a designer, are my specialty.  SYNTHESIS ~~~~

this is my design poem. haha!
Ah ok, anyway…
I’ve been thinking about my sheep and the rug. Going to do a bit of sketching and thinking about foot gestures, to use gaming terms – easter eggs of movement that trigger responses of the VR sheep.
I’ve been playing around with piezos as well, nothing very in depth but just getting used to them and how they work. I would like to do a parallel circuit of up to 50 as output and 50 as input, so at this point I am just puttering around my desk soldering things to other things to see what works, while my partner tries to suppress laughter at my mad scientist mutterings.
OK so after writing this I definitely haaaave been doing some work since my last post – I think I’m just getting used to a new pace (I say, as we gear up into December presentations).  The deadline for the bio-designed callout is Nov 16, so I’ve been working on my abstract. If you’ve made it this far, this is what I’m looking for feedback on right now!
the rules:
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM— Foundations of Biodesign: Integrating Art, Design, and Biology
The Biodesign Working Group, a partnership of Cumulus Association and Biodesign Challenge, welcomes paper submissions that explore the emerging field of biodesign. Papers will be published in both the Cumulus Conference Proceedings and in Biodesigned, the bimonthly online magazine published by Biodesign Challenge.
This call is the inaugural program of the Biodesign Working Group, which will be hosting meetings and discussions at future Cumulus conferences (both online and in person).
The full Call for Papers can be found here: https://www.biodesigned.org/cfp
CONSIDERATIONS
– Abstract word count is 300-600 words. – Abstracts are due on November 16, 2020. – The call welcomes submissions worldwide and is not limited to Cumulus members. – The language of the conference is English, and all submissions must be in English. – Accepted papers will be published in the Cumulus Proceedings only if at least one author registers to the Cumulus conference in Guayaquil, Ecuador at Universidad de las Artes in late 2021 to present the work.
my current abstract draft:
Humans segregate themselves as other than nature and other than technology. In our unbridled quest for knowledge, we have taxonomically divided the world into boxes, stacking them in order of importance and usefulness. This separation and conquest of information has undoubtedly attributed to incredible intellectual progress, but what of the inherent and uncategorical knowing that is held within beings other than ourselves? We know now, that the earthbound are standing at a precipice. We are looking out over a world that is shifting and revealing itself to us in new and infinite ways. As designers, we must become resilient, reciprocal and act accordingly to a world that no longer accepts things and devices that falsely promote themselves as ‘end-products’ and ‘solutions’. Designers are uniquely situated to adapt to these changes and have a responsibility to react ethically to emerging information and understandings. Actions of care can become radical in a new pluralistic future, but how do we direct ourselves and our peers towards this beacon while operating under yet diverging from the dominant design paradigms of individualism, objectivism, universalism, and solutionism? 1.
As part of my undergraduate thesis, I have been working within the realm of design fiction to explore empathetic entanglements between humans, nature, and technology. My research explores potential tangents of our current technological and biological systems to estimate a near future, through which I explore the potentials of non-hierarchical systems, decolonial and inherited relationships, and the holistic, messy and webbed entanglements inherent in all species (technology included). Through the use of diegetic prototypes, both in the physical realm and the virtual realm of VR, I am exploring the value of embodied experience as a tool for imparting care, specifically regarding the current climate emergency. By prototypes such as a device to translate plant communications to audio outputs alongside a VR replication of this device with added visual, haptic, and graphic translations; my work reveals relationships that have been uncared for and unseen in our current, anthropocentric world. Through worldbuilding, I will create a holobiont that incorporates technology as something to be cared for as kin, instead of something to be blamed for our demise. Weaving new possibilities into design work is often done through the use of critical design, and more specifically, design fiction. I want to use this design fiction to realize new possibilities in our changing world, and hope to use this project to expose new veins of interest within sustainability, consumption, and reciprocity.

I did some pulling from my grad proposal and did some updating. I’m at 403 words so I still have around 200 to play with if I want to add more. I wonder if this is too close to a proposal vs an abstract for an academic paper? Also, am I wasting space with the first paragraph, or is that a good set up for my design perspective?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
