I reall loved designing the side characters! It's fun trying to figure out the different clothing styles and I really wanted to lean into the fantasy features.

Special updates: Lennox is now a fairy! I thought it was fitting since fairies get their power from community and he'd abuse that with his cult. Also Magnus gets a more casual outfit so he isn't having breakfast in full plate

So I gave it my best shot anon. This was actually pretty fun to do. Would anyone want me to do what pokemon group each character would have??

Main Character

Okay this is sort of a copout, but probably MC would be the Pokemon trainer in this situation. She is the main character. Whichever route she would have chosen is the character that she uses in her battles. She hates WQ with every fiber of herself and swears to become a champion and beat WQ. She is the younger twin sister to WQ.

August Falke

A Luxio who evolves into Luxray. The evolution happens around the same time that August in his route would find Aisetha. Initially hesitant and completely mistrustful of MC, he grows to care and be proud that she’s his trainer.

Saerys

Combusken who evolves into Blaziken who then evolves into MegaBlaziken. He evolves fairly early (around the time Saerys would gain turbo-mode). He becomes MegaBlaziken when Saerys would have gotten the Demon Godmode. He would warm up to MC a little bit quicker than August would, but still is wary of her, eventually growing to trust her.

Altea Bellerose

Kirlia who evolves into Gardevoir. She evolves around the time she gets her wings in her route. She accepts MC the quickest. Her parents expect her

Reiner Wolfson

A Torracat that evolves into Incineroar. The WQ had her pokemon kill his family and she claimed his brother as her own. MC would find him and after a little while of her taking care of him, he would follow her, at the very least to avenge his family. Eventually he allows her to claim him as one of her pokemon.

Iseul Idreis

A Bayleef that evolves into Meganium. He went off exploring and was found by MC. Intrigued, he followed her around, and would later allow himself to be claimed by her.

Helena Klein

A Sneasel that evolves into a Weavile. Abandoned by the WQ after an injury, MC nursed her back to health and claimed her as her own. WQ was NOT happy with that and accused MC of stealing Helena away. Helena initially is unable to fight against WQ, but when MC says she believes in her, Helena evolves into Weavile to fight in MC’s name.

Alain Richter

Poochyena who evolves into a Mightyena. He was a pokemon that was in the village WQ and MC grew up in. Initially he bonded with WQ, but similar to Helena was abandoned after he lost a battle. He was wandering the towns when he came across MC, who recognized him and took him in. He became her pokemon soon after and is very loyal to her. 

Solaire Lightwing/Sophie/Sophira Lightwing

A Minun and Plusel. I wanted a set of pokemon that could both be similar enough to where 

Ryland Goldhart

An Eevee because gosh darnnit, it just fits Ryland so well.

Witch Queen

A rival pokemon trainer to MC, but she’s cruel to her pokemon. They lived in the same town, but while MC was well liked, WQ was not. Due to how they look similar, some people/pokemon think MC is WQ. As the older sister, she feels like everything MC does, she can do better and is almost psychopathic about beating her.

Lennox Arnold

Meowth. I can totally picture him being a meowth 

Jinhai Jubal

Shiftry. It’s a shifty tree shaped looking pokemon. Given Jinhai’s affiliation to nature and corruption it fits.

Magnus Vestergaard

Machoke. He’s known as the muscle of the Generals in the series, it fits.

Realizing I don’t think I ever posted about my favorite lovestruck niche ship so might as well do it now. Consider: Helena/Mc/Solaire

- Mc and Helena rescue Solaire at the start, so she is the first to build trust with them

- this trust carries through the rout as Solaire becomes one of the few allies Helena has aside from Mc, and one of the people who makes an effort to make Helena comfortable in the castle

- Solaire repeatedly shows extra care for Helena and Mc, not just when others are against them

- I simply like their dynamic, Solaire is grounding, kind, and honest and gets along well with Mc’s upbeat demeanor while also being a gentle figure for Helena, so the idea of romance for them makes me happy lmao
